Zootopia Wilde Tales: It's that Time of Year!

Nick has been impatiently waiting for this day all year!

Written for the reader's enjoyment without any profitable purposes. Nick and Judy, along with Zootopia, are the property of Disney. My apologies to anyone which this satirical story might offend, including any and all Disney stars and any of the actors mentioned within.

"Carrots, it's the anticipation of something wonderful about to happen that makes life so exciting," the red fox said as he clutched a white paper coffee cup with its distinctive green logo of a crowned siren in his paws. Slowly he inhaled the hot drink's scent with almost a reverent look on his face.

"Having fun, Slick?" the bunny asked while she watched the fox sitting across the table from her and couldn't help but grin when she saw the vulpine's tail begin frantically wagging. "Really, Nick, all of this over a cup of coffee?"

"Not just any coffee, this is special," Nick sighed after he once again sniffed the steaming contents of the cup. "Ah, the heavenly nectar of the gods!" the fox proclaimed and he began to lick his chops in anticipation. "One of the cast members bought me this special coffee on his way to work today."

"Really? It's just coffee, you drink coffee every morning. In fact, you're almost worthless until you've had at least two cups."

"It's not just the coffee but what is in it," Nick replied while he gave the cup a dreamy look. "I've been waiting all year for this to come out, for it is the harbinger that the dog days of summer have ended and that the plentiful harvests of autumn are just..."

"Just tell me what you have been waiting for?" Judy interrupted her friend's musings.

"This, my dear rabbit!" he proclaimed before he removed the cup's lid and held it toward her so she could look inside, somehow his tail was wagging even faster.

"It looks like a plain old cup of coffee with cream to me," Judy said with a shrug of her shoulders.

"A plain old cup of coffee?" Nick sounded almost offended by what she had said. "Does this really look like just a plain old cup of coffee to you?"

"Yeah."

"Leave it to an herbal tea-drinking rabbit not to understand how special this delectable treat is to a fox!" he proclaimed while he gently lifted the cup even higher over his head as if it was a precious treasure to be admired. "Why this is going to be my first taste of…" Before he could finish his words, a paw reached out from behind and snatched the cup from his grasp.

"Thanks, Wilde!" Honest John called out as he continued walking towards the breakroom door. "I didn't have time to get my own coffee this morning!" Taking a sip, the other fox grimaced. "Yuck, this tastes like pumpkin spice! Why would anyone want pumpkin spice in their latte?"

Judy heard Nick give a whimper when the cup was unceremoniously dumped into the trash. She sighed and shook her head at the sight of the now distraught fox who was slumped in his chair. "Come on Slick, I'm pretty sure that they are already selling pumpkin spice flavored coffees at one of the kiosks in Tomorrowland," she chuckled and grinned when the fox's tail began wagging once more.

I heard from my big city kinfolk that Starbucks has rolled out their fall menu, including their pumpkin-spiced lattes. Sorry Nick, but I much prefer a plain old cup of Joe at the Waffle House. I wonder if Snarlbucks in Zootopia is serving anything pumpkin-spiced?
