Only this time, there's going to be something a bit different. However, this and the next three chapters are the prologue to the real show. Thus, the prologue is under a fitting and different name.

Chapter 0.1 – The Duo

The Null Void. A hellish alternate dimension seemingly inescapable. The landscape so bad that it was turned into a penal colony. The worst place one could end up in…unless you had a brain to realize the gold mine. No one seemed to realize that a cluster of universes and alternate timelines 'shared' the Null Void like they did Ledgerdomain. Meaning if one knew the secrets of multiversial travel, the Null Void (or Ledgerdomain) was basically a highway to any universe. And it made for the perfect hideout after all. Those who knew of the Null Void would never willingly go there…

[Argit Castle, Pétion-Ville, Haiti, Earth, Argitrix Timeline]

Shenhua wished she had fled when he come into the country, but her desire for money to fund her lifestyle was her vice. She survived and he took over the country. Argit, bearer the Omnitrix, came to her country a while back and took over the place making the country on a further ride down to a den of vice. Sure, he appeared to help the long suffering, but that was a giant farce. You would think the rest of the world would care, but they did not too much in the way of interfering. Shenhua used to be a semi-retired assassin, but now she was pretty much an underpaid assistant to the new ruler.

"Shenhua!" Argit called as Shenhua debated blowing her brains out.

She came seeing the alien prick on his throne surrounded by money, gold, and treasure. The selfish dick barely paid her a farce.

"What is it, your highness?" Shenhua asked trying to hide her displeasure for him.

"Remember that delightful duo, the ones who get the job done no matter how hard." Argit said as Shenhua.

She remembered well. Two teenagers in costumes with masks that hide their voices and their faces. Their voices modulated but you could still one was a guy and the other a girl. They came looking to work under Argit for jobs…underworld jobs. Argit had put them to the test repeatedly and they succeeded. Every job he gave them completed masterfully and efficiently. She respected and feared them given their methods.

"I called them to abandoned apartment building in Cité Soleil. They're waiting at the top floor, room 301. You are to go there and sleep with the both of them. I want them both to have a nice send off before you kill them." Argit said as Shenhua looked confused.

"Sir, why do you want to kill them? The bodies they buried are why China supports you! They got you blackmail on the US president and a quarter of congress! Why do you want to kill them?!" Shenhua asked in disbelief.

"Because they're independent with no real loyalty. And they have outlived their usefulness to me. I have the blackmail and all I need from them. I need them gone so no one else pays them to kill me. So, go on and get it done." Argit said leaning back in his throne.

Shenhua obeyed and left for the apartment with a chill coming on her. She did not want to do it, but she did not want to be killed herself. The least she could do, she thought, but give them a nice send off. She was at least allowed to drive one of Argit's fancier cars to get there, a gold-colored Audi R8 4.2 FSI Quattro.

"I may as well pick up some condoms. I don't want to end up a mom to a man I have to kill." Shenhua remarked.

She made the pickup and arrived at the apartment building in Cité Soleil. The place was still one of the poorest places on the island but saw better days under Argit's rule. As she got the abandoned building and climbed up, dread filled her being. She was not sure she could do this, but she found herself at the door which she found open. The room was sparse, and she found 'Shadow' and 'Nightshade' only…they were not in costume. She had always wondered what they looked. 'Shadow' looked benefiting of his namesake. Surprising to her was he was Black Asian, but it explained the mixed accent. He had light brown skin, stood an inch shorter than her, had sapphire blue eyes that appeared cold, and was fittingly built as an athlete. His raven hair with lightly spiked and slicked back with the ends having a tinge of electric blue. He wore a blue leisure suit with a black shirt, an electric blue tie, black fingerless gloves, and Lupin III-inspired boots. 'Nightshade' was a young American lady, with small hint of Asian ancestry, that was shorter than both her and 'Shadow'. Her Caucasian skin had a slight tan, her eyes were a sharp green, and she wore her long black hair in a low ponytail seemingly dip-dyed green. Her figure, like 'Shadow's' was rather athletic as well.

"Not bad…but she really was a cup size behind me…and she seems to be catching up." Shenhua thought.

'Nightshade' wore a black sleeveless sweater, dark colored trousers, biker boots, and fingerless gloves. A pair of dark blue and emerald green trench coats lay on the table.

"So, Argit called us in for something?" 'Shadow' remarked.

"Oh yes. Argit just wanted to give you both an extra reward for a job well done." Shenhua said presenting the condoms. "They're for you to use…on me."

"I guess Argit wanted us to have some fun. While S and I are flattered and eager, we'll have to pass." 'Nightshade' said getting up. "We're going to need our energy."

With a swift chop to the back of Shenhua's neck, she collapsed into the couch. 'Nightshade' promptly took her cell phone and keys. 'Nightshade' promptly called Argit using Shenhua's voice.

"It's been done, but it seems they had something on you. Something about a core in the sub-lab. Yeah…I'm on my way." 'Nightshade' said before hanging up.

"I told you Argit would have betrayed us, Jericho." 'Shadow' said knowingly.

"I know, Drake. It was not a matter of if, but when." Jericho said getting on her trench coat as he did the same. "What do we do with her?"

"Leave her alone. This is going to be our last job in this timeline…not like she'll be getting anywhere fast with no car or phone." Drake said as they got in the car. "Still, one month of work and he betrays us."

"And you called me crazy for planting a bug in his castle." Jericho said as she got in the passenger side. "And for that, you're driving."

[Music Ends]

Drake conceded accepting he was wrong, and they both lamented not being able to double team Shenhua.

"She always was the classiest chick in Black Lagoon. As much as I wanted to, it's better than deal with Argit. Considering everything, we're close to getting all what we need and want from him." Jericho said as Drake drove faster.

"So, after all this, we're really going to leaving this cluster of universes behind." Drake said with finality. "We've risked enough across many timelines. And I can't wait to leave it behind."

The pair arrived at the castle with knowing smirks on their faces. They both did have the means to betray Argit since the third day of working for it, but Drake wanted to hold off because they were being paid well. Both raised their hands glowing with energy, blue for Drake and green for Jericho. With a combined energy blast, they blew up the front door causing the sleeping Argit to fall off his throne.

"What the hell?!" Argit said reaching for his Omnitrix.

Drake took out the remote out of his coat and promptly disabled Argit's watch. He owed Argit thanks for being dumb enough to pay them one time with a case of Azmuth's tech instead of cash…which had a device to remotely disable the Omnitrix.

"What the…why isn't this working?!" Argit said trying to activate it as the smoke cleared. "Who are you two?"

"You betrayed us…so we're just repaying the favor." They both said before rushing Argit.

Argit had his quills which he fired as them only for Jericho to raise an energy shield. Using the shield as a lens, Drake raised his hand on the shield of ki and fired from the other side a massive beam of energy. They know he had durability…he was badly injured…but still alive. They walked to stand over Argit only to unload finger beam after finger beam into him until he was no longer breathing. The Argitrix (they refused to call it that) was collected along with most of the treasure. They did want to leave enough for Shenhua before moving to the lab, where they hit the jackpot.

To get around, the pair had a decent gunship. What they did not expect was Argit to have, was the Providence Helicarrier…modified for space travel.

"It seems Argit was a jumper…." Drake said. "He could have been a powerful warper if he knew the secret like us."

"He collected magical items too. The Alpha Rune, Gwen's spellbook, and…Charmcaster's panties." Jericho said before taking a whiff of them. "Worn. Definitely worn."

"Oh, hell yes, the Charms of Bezel plus the Keystone." Drake said taking them up. "I don't know why that dumbass didn't carry the luck one along with the keystone. He could have saved his ass if he did…or maybe not."

Both had no real aptitude for using magic, in reality. However, they knew well enough on its matters to defend against it. Using the charms on its own thankfully did not require knowing how to use them thankfully. They scoured the lab finding various things of value, and then found a dog-like Galvanic Mechamorph flash-frozen in a glass case.

"I think it's Ship…or a close counterpart." Drake said taking it up. "Poor thing…from the looks of this holding tank, it's been used for a battery."

"Can you free it?" Jericho asked.

"We could, but it'll take time. Let's just load this stuff into the Helicarrier and blow this universe already." Drake said looking it over. "This little guy can happily join our family of Pokémon. With the helicarrier, more of them will be able to reside on the ship instead of a PC."

They began loading the ship up their spoil right as Shenhua return to see a giant ship blow it's way out of the lab before taking off into space. Shenhua had found both the leftover treasure and the corpse of what was Argit.

She could have taken the money, fled the country, and start over. However, seeing that Haiti was…well not exactly in a good position. She decided on another idea…taking over and maybe leading the country to a better future.

[Space, Argitrix Timeline]

"A Unitrix, the original Ultramatrix, Polymorphic Crystals, and so much tech. The man really was prepared for war. At least with the Unitrix, that brings us to about three. And with the original Ultamatrix in tow, that will make things a lot easier." Drake said making a count of the items. "Good thing this thing was modified for space travel. We ready to wrap, Jer?"

"Yes, and we're ready to do our last few jobs. Time, we took our severance packages." Jericho said.

(A/N: Yes, meet Drake and Jericho. Two of our three main leads, the third is going to be met until the third and final chapter. And for reference, Shenhua is about 5'8" with a D cup size, so it'll give you an idea into the height for our characters. (Jericho's 5'5"). I wanted to give a feel to these characters similar in those to the likes of Crimson, Taeko, Team YUKI, and Geist Naruto. I'd say that Drake shares a vibe similar to Crimson and Yuki whereas Jericho is akin to Lapis and Ivory. Both got a similar drive to Taeko to make things work and get their mitts dirty if they have to.)
