Chapter 32: Chunin exams – Preliminary Round

The last two days for Naruto was exhausting, all of the girls except Kaga, Shion, Karin, and Temari were friendly. Naruto walked to the arena with Kaga and Shion hiding inside of his shirt, still sleeping. All of the remaining Genin that passed the second part of the exams were standing side by side in rows in front of the Hokage, with four Jonin on each side and seven Jonin behind him. "First of all, congratulations on finishing the second exam." Anko said over the intercom. 'Huh…There were one-hundred seventeen ninja that took this exam; frankly I'm surprised twenty-four passed. I knew less than half would make it but I really thought the numbers would be in single digits..' Anko chuckled to herself. "I'm really hungry" Choji whined out. "What a drag there's so many left. This is such a pain." Shikamaru said as he looked at the rest of the Genin.

"I see that your team didn't do too bad Kakashi, they must have gotten real lucky. But of course with my team still around your team is doomed to failure. And after all what matters on the next test is ability and we got you far out class. Well I guess a part of growing up is dealing with heart break huh Kakashi?" Guy asked his cyclops friend. "Huh, you say something?" she replied making the green spandex Jonin cry. 'Alright Kakashi you win this round, boy that drives me nuts when you act so cool there's no way I'm going to let you get the best of me!' Guy thought as he clenched his fist and fire in his eyes. 'So that's Guy-Sensei's old rival huh, well if I had to judge them on looks alone I'd say Guy-Sensei would lose.' Tenten thought as she looked at her Sensei and Kakashi. 'Guy Sensei is just the coolest teacher ever; I mean he's so cool that he practically glows with cool. You watch Guy-Sensei; someday I'll make you proud of me!' Lee thought as he made a fist.

"Alright now pay attention. Lord Hokage is going to explain the third exam to you. You better listen carefully maggots. Lord Hokage they're all yours." Anko said. Sarutobi stepped forward and cleared his throat before talking. "First before I tell you what the third exam in tales. I want to explain something about the test itself. Listen closely, the purpose of these exams. Why do allied nations conduct the exams on a frequent basis? Raisings the levels of the Shinobi and friendship among allied nations. It won't do to have the wrong idea of the true meaning of that statement. These exams are so to speak… A microcosm of battle between allied nations. If we look back on history, the allied nations of today were once neighboring nations that continued to compete with each other and battle for power. In order to avoid a futile crushing of each others' military strength, those nations mutually selected a place to battle. And that was how the Chunin Exams originally began." He said as he smoked his pipe.

"W-why do we have to do such a thing? We're not doing this to be selected as Chunins?!" Sakura asked. "There is no question that these exams are to select Shinobi worthy of becoming Chunin. But on the other hand, these exams also provide a venue for Shinobi who carry their nation's pride on their backs for their lives!" Hiruzen answered. Naruto softly growled, "Nation pride, what a joke. They use anyone and everyone that's powerful just to look good in front of the other nations." Naruto said softly under his breath. Then a Shinobi jumped in front of the Hokage, kneeling. "Lord Hokage, please allow me, Gekko Hayate, who was given the task of judge, to speak first." Gekko asked skill kneeling. "I leave it to you…" the Hokage said. Gekko stood up, "Nice to meet you, everyone… Umm, there's something… I'd like you all to do… Before the third exam. And that is a preliminary to the third exam, with the participation in the main battle on the line." He said, coughing throughout his speech.

"Preliminary?" Sakura said in shock. "What do you mean… preliminary?!" Shikamaru yelled out. "Sensei, I don't understand the point of that preliminary. Why aren't we doing the next exam with the remaining test-takers?" Sakura asked. Gekko sighed, "This time around, perhaps the first and second exams were easy, there are a few too many people left, you see. In accordance with the rules of the Chunin Exams, a preliminary will be held in order to reduce the number advancing." Gekko was managed to say without coughing. "N-No way!" Sakura said. "Well just as Lord Hokage said, many guests will be coming to the third exam. So we can't have long pointless matches and our time is limited as well. Therefore, those of you not in top physical condition…" Gekko stopped as he began to have a coughing attack. 'Hey, is he okay…?' Ino thought. 'The teacher doesn't look well himself.' Hinata thought as well. "Excuse me. Those of you, who wish to drop out, please speak up now. The preliminary will begin immediately, so…" Gekko stopped as Kiba interrupted him. "Immediately, you say!" she yelled out.

Naruto looked around to see who was going to quit when he noticed Sasuke flinched and held his shoulder. 'I really need to remove that curse mark from him. He's already a power hungry douche already. Nah I'll let him suffer a little bit more.' Naruto thought as his attention back to the front. "Now then, we will begin the preliminaries. The preliminaries to come will be one-on-one individual battles. In other words, actual battle format. There are exactly twenty-four people so we will conduct twelve battles. The winners will be able to advance to the third exam. There are no rules at all. You will fight until someone dies, collapses…or admits defeat. Oh and…please admit defeat right away if you don't want to die. However, in case I judge that a match is over… err… I don't want to needlessly increase dead bodies. So I will intervene and stop the match or something to that effect."

After Gekko finished talking he gave Anko a nod. "Open it." She said on her head set and the back panels on wall behind the Jonin started to open up to show a monitor. "This screen will display two foes randomly selected and now let's get right down to it and announce two names for the first battle." Gekko said as all of the Genin starred up at the giant screen in anticipation. Then the screen stopped showing the two names. Zaku Abumi vs. Shino Aburame. "Now then which weakling is it?" Zaku said smugly. Shino just stared forward not saying anything. The two names displayed on the signboard, come forward." Gekko said as both Zaku and Shino walked forward. "For the first battle, Zaku Abumi and Shino Aburame have been selected. "Everyone other than the two foes, please move to the upper area."

As everyone was walking up the stairs both Kaga and Shion popped their heads out of Naruto's shirt. "Daddy do we have to fight as well? Because I don't want to fight against my family." Shion said. "Yea I don't wanna fight either, I'm too tired." Kaga added as she yawned. Naruto smiled as he scratched their ears. "No you don't have to fight but if you decide now that you don't you can't help me later, understand?" he asked, getting nods from both of the foxes. "Alright then, you can't stay with me so who wants to go where. You can either stay with Anko or Kurenai." Naruto said. Kaga and Shion looked at each other before answering. "I wanna be with Anko Ba-chan." Kaga said and Shion added with, "And I want to go with Kurenai Ba-san." Naruto smiled as he quickly ran up to Anko. "Can you watch Kaga-chan for me? She's tired and doesn't want to fight. Thanks Hebi-hime." Naruto said kissing her, before Anko could react or say anything Naruto was already up on the balcony and Kaga in her hands. Kaga quickly jumped in her shirt and plopped her head out and rested it on the hem of her mesh shirt. "Thanks Ba-chan." Kaga yawned out making Anko chuckle and shake her head. 'Foxy, I wonder when you're going to give me a baby.' she thought.

~Up on the Balcony~

Once Naruto was up on the balcony next to Kurenai he gave her Shion, and just like Kaga she jumped inside of her battle dress and rested her head on the hem. "So Sensei after this exam, do you want to get some Ramen with me? I have something important to talk to you about." he asked making everyone nearby look at the two of them. Asuma scowled at the blonde while the girls still mad that he was flirting with the Sand Ninja. 'Dam demon pushing his luck! It's bad enough that Kurenai has to be on his team. But flirting and asking for dates is where I draw the line.' Asuma thought as he put out his cigarette and lit another one. Kurenai noticed that Asuma was getting upset and quickly answered Naruto. "I have to think about it Naruto but now you should be watching the fights so you will know their skills if you make it to the third exam." Kurenai said making Naruto smirk. "Come on Kurenai-chan you and I both know that I'm passing this part." Naruto said making Ino nod to t others.

~Down in the Ring~

"We will now begin the first match." Gekko said. Shion and Zaku starred at each other for a few seconds before speaking. "If you fight here, you'll be finished… Withdraw." He said in a calm voice. Zaku laughed, taking one of his arms out of a sling. "Somehow, this one still works, so… One arm is enough to take care of you!" Zaku shouted as he rushed Shino. Zaku tried to strike Shino but was blocked easily. "You can't beat me with just one arm. "Yea, I got news for ya!" Zaku yelled as he pulled back his arm and started to suck air into his palm. "Try this!" Zaku yell thrusting his palm forward. "SLICING SOUND WAVES!" No sooner a large explosion happened causing a dust cloud. Shino was tossed off to the side getting Zaku. Kiba and Hinata went and leaned over the railing concerned for their friend/teammate. "Come on get up." Zaku called out as the dust started to settle. Zaku was shocked at what he saw, within the dust cloud stood a shadowed person. Then the arena was filled with the noise of insects and once the dust settle Shino was standing unfazed with bugs crawling all over him.

'B-bugs? They burst through the skin… from inside of his body?' Zaku thought in shock. "Heh! What kind of trick are you trying to pull?" he asked Shino then he heard what sounded like thousands of insects. Turning head around to look, there on the ground were indeed thousands of bugs crawling towards him. Shino held up his hand with a bug on the tip of one of his fingers. "These things are called parasitic insects. They attack their pray in groups and eat chakra… If attacking in this amount… you're finished, no mistake. If you don't like that, give up, that would be in your best interests. If you use your left arm technique on me, I'll simultaneously have the bugs exploit the opening from behind. Conversely, if you use your technique on the bugs, then I'll exploit the opening. Either way, you won't be able to get through this." Shino spoke, raising his hands in the tiger seal. "An ace in the hole is something that you set aside." Shino quietly said as the bugs charged his opponent. Zaku sucked his tongue and yelled "Don't… underestimate me!" as he thrust his arm at Shino then his other at the bugs behind him. Zaku yelled.

"An ace in the hole is something you set aside, right?" Zaku asked, aiming each of his arms at Shino and his bugs. "What?! He can already use his right arm?!" Kiba yelled out as she continued to lean over the railing. "Seems like it Kiba-chan." Naruto replied as he looked over at her with his head propped up in his palm, resting on the balcony ledge. Kiba's face turned red and she puffed out her cheeks which Naruto thought was cute, Kiba didn't respond so Naruto turned his attention back to the fight. Zaku started to scream and everyone looked on in shock as chakra started blasting out of his arms. "Ah! My arms!" Zaku yelled as both of his arms drop down.

Zaku looked down at his palm and noticed bugs crawling out the little hole. Shino quickly appeared behind Zaku, "Earlier when I recommended that you should give up, so as precautionary measure, I gave a order to the bugs. Block that troublesome wind hole with their bodies and remain still. This is what a real ace in the hole is." Shino said dodging an attack from Zaku and countered it with a backhand, sending Zaku flying. Gekko walked over to Zaku's unconscious body, "Seems like it's over… The winner! Shino Aburame!" Gekko yelled out. As Shino walked back up to his team, he received multiple congratulations. "Not bad, I wonder how his bugs would do against my chakra." Naruto muttered but Genma overheard him and bit down so hard on his Needle Senbon that it broke. "Was that a threat Naruto?" Genma growled out. "What...What are you talking about a threat? I was merely curious." Naruto replied without moving, which pissed Genma off even more. "Relax Genma, he wasn't threatening anyone." Kurenai said, stand up for her student which made Naruto happy. "Thanks Nai-chan." Naruto replied using Anko's nickname for her.

Naruto went back to his original position and yawned, closing his eyes. The next thing he knew he was asleep. The next two battles went by fast while he slept, Kurenai noticed that he was sleeping and nudged him with her elbow. "Naru-kun wake up and pay attention you just missed two fights." Kurenai whispered out so she was heard by anyone else except Naruto. Naruto stood up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. "Nai-chan what all did I miss?" He asked as he wrapped his arm around her and leaned his head onto her shoulder. Asuma saw and became even more pissed. Kurenai saw and didn't want to make a scene so she quickly removed his arm. "Well you missed Shin's. He fought Kabuto and lost. Then there was Satsuki and Hanabi, there fight was impressive. I'm actually that you slept through that one. It was a tie, they both passed out from chakra exhaustion." Kurenai said.

Naruto looked up at the screen as it started to spin through names again, Shikamaru Nara vs. Kin Tsuchi. "This is going to be an interesting fight." Naruto said gaining everyone's attention. "Oh and how's that?" Ino asked as she started to root for Shikamaru. 'Shit I can't really tell them that Kin is my girlfriend and before becoming a Leaf Genin, I was living in Oto.' Naruto thought then it came to him. "Because I saw both of them fight in the forest." He lied getting multiple nods as they all turned all their attention back to the arena. "Dam…It's me." Shikamaru sighed as he stood in the middle of the arena. "Shikamaru, don't lose! Show us all that you're a real man!" Ino cheered out. 'Man what a pain. My opponent is a woman… I know these guys' raw power from that incident from the second test… they both used wind power. I don't know anything about this one's Jutsu.' Shikamaru thought.

Kin and Shikamaru got into fighting stances when they heard Gekko shout "Begin!" Shikamaru brought his hands up and was about to activate his shadow manipulate Jutsu when Kin spoke up. "One trick pony, huh?" Kin taunted out. "Shut up!" Shikamaru yelled back. "NINJA ART, SHADOW POSSESSION JUTSU!" Shikamaru muttered out. Shikamaru shadow shot forward towards Kin, "It's nothing if I just pay attention to the movement of your shadow." Kin said jumping to the side. Shikamaru quickly ducked as soon as Kin jumped as he dodged to Senbon needles that had bells tied to their ends. Shikamaru looked back at the wall where the needles hit then back at Kin. "Heh…That's a classic, next you'll Senbons with bells and Senbons without bells at the same time, right? I'll respond to the sound of the bells, intending to dodge them. But I won't notice the quiet Senbons, and ouch."

"You're a chatty guy!" Kin yelled out as she charged forward and tossed more Senbon at her opponent. "So I know to dodge all of the Senbon, just not the ones with the bells." Shikamaru said dodging all of the needles. The Shikamaru heard a bell jingle, 'What? Where?' Shikamaru thought, looking behind him at the wall. 'Thread?' he thought turning around. "Dam it!" he yelled as Kin held the thread in one hand and more Senbon in the other. "Too late!" Kin yelled, throwing the Senbon, hitting the shadow controlling Ninja and knocking back and to the ground. "Shikamaru!" Ino yelled out in concern. "It looks like he took that hit pretty hard." Naruto said, crossing his arms. "F-For the moment I dodged a fatal hit." Shikamaru said, grunting as he pulled out the needles. "Now it's my turn." Shikamaru said tossing the needles. "I don't think so." Kin added as the bells jingled. "W-what is this?" Shikamaru groaned out, as he started to sway and falling to his knees. Kin smiled as she looked down at Shikamaru. "That happens to anyone who hears my bell." Kin said as she made the bell jingle more. "This bell sends off a particular sound vibration that travels through outer inner ear and then directly to the brain. First comes paralysis and soon you start hallucinating." Kin told Shikamaru.

Shikamaru groan and started to fight it. "You can't block the sound out once it's in your head." Kin said as Shikamaru covered his ears and saw that Kin had multiplied. "I can't tell which one is the real one." Shikamaru said looking over at Kin. "You can't use your arms or legs and if you could you wouldn't know which one of us to throw your shadow at." Kin said but it echoed for Shikamaru, as all of her duplicates talked. Kin held three Senbon between her fingers up "I think that I'll cook you nice and slow and on fire." She said and then she threw them at Shikamaru. The shadow user quickly used his arms as a shield. No sooner than Shikamaru shielded himself, he got hit by the flying Senbons. "This time was three next time will be five. Each time a couple more till you start to look like a hedgehog." Kin said with a smug grin on her face. 'Dam it Kin-chan, defeat him already. You're playing with fire and you're going to get hurt.' Naruto thought as he watched closely.

"Stop playing games why don't cha. If you're so tough, get it over with and stop wasting my time." Shikamaru said making Kin smile. "I'm sorry, so you're mot a fan of my slow painful method huh… Fine suit yourself, we do it the quick way then, and painful." Kin said then she started to panic. "What's wrong? I can't move my arm." Kin yelled out as Shikamaru stood up. "At last, my Shadow Possession Jutsu was a success." Shikamaru said shocking Kin. "W-what are you saying? There's no way! Your shadow isn't anywhere." Kin said, confused on how he used his shadow. "You don't realize it yet?" Shikamaru chuckled out. Kin eyes widen once she realized how. "I-It can't be…" she said. "A thread at this height can't have a shadow… I stretch and shrink my own." Shikamaru told her. 'The shadow is gradually getting thicker… This wasn't the shadow of the thread.' Kin thought as she was trying to understand how her opponent got to her.

"That's right I stretched my shadow and made it narrow, so it looked like the shadow of a thread and stuck it on you." Shikamaru explained, pointing his finger at Kin and making her mimic him. "But… How do you win with that? I'm just gonna move the same way as you." Kin asked. 'She's so annoying… Be quiet and watch.' Shikamaru thought, frowning at Kin. Shikamaru then reached down and unsnapped his Shuriken holster making Kin do the same. "Baka… If you throw that shuriken at me you'll just be attacking yourself!" Kin yelled out as Shikamaru chuckled. "Makes it kind of interesting doesen't it." He replied, getting ready to throw. "No way you're crazy!" Kin said as her arm went back as well. "Yea and like a game of chicken let's see who ducks first." Shikamaru said as he tossed the Shuriken, Kin followed suit a lunched hers as well. Shikamaru bent backwards avoiding the Shuriken, Kin smiled as she started bend backwards but it disappeared as her head smashed into the wall knocking her out. "And that's what I call using your head." Shikamaru said flipping and landing on his feet. "If you're a Shinobi, you have to grasp the situation and the layout when you battle." Shikamaru explained. "Winner! Shikamaru Nara." Gekko announced.

The medics came and got Kin and took her to the medical center they had. Naruto growled quietly as he watched Kin being carried away. 'Dam it Kin, maybe after this fight you won't play with your opponent and take him out quickly as you can.' Naruto thought as he turned his attention back to the board. The names started to spin again and hoping that it was his turn. It stopped and Gekko read the names out, "Can Tenten and Temari come down." He called out as the two girls walked down to the arena. Both Tenten and Temari were standing across from each other as Tenten spoke. "I'm actually a little excited when I saw my name with yours." Tenten confessed. Temari raised her eyebrow at the Leaf Genin. "And why is that?" she asked. Tenten lowed herself down into a defensive stance, "Because I don't like you clinging to Naru-kun like you've been doing." Tenten replied making Temari blush a little, as she thought of Naruto. Gekko sighed and rolled his eyes, 'Don't know why these two are going after the Demon. Well I can excuse the Sand Ninja but the other one should know better.' Gekko thought as he swung his arm down chopping the air. "Begin!" he yelled out and jumped back.

Tenten quickly jumped back, trying to put distance between the two of Temari. "Are you planning to wait it out and see how I make my move?" Temari asked making Tenten jump up and throw several Shurikens at the blonde girl. Temari didn't move as all of the Shurikens fell to the ground around her. Tenten landed and was shocked at what she had witnessed. "They missed? That's impossible!" Tenten yelled out still shocked. "What happened? Was that a warm-up? Or are you scared and your aim is off? I thought I would enjoy it a little bit more, but evidently it's not promising." Temari taunted out getting Tenten to grit her teeth. 'Alright I have to calm down. Don't let her get to you… One. Two. Three… If it's gonna get dodged, I just have to make it impossible to!' Tenten thought out, counting the tiles. Temari was already ahead of her. 'Hmm… So she's measuring the spacing, next one is going to be the big attack.' Temari thought as she reached behind her and grabbed her fan.

Tenten started to run around Temari, reaching behind her back and jumping in the air. As Tenten jumped a Scroll unrolled and started to twirl around her as she spun in mid air. Tenten sped up her twirling and smacked a seal, unsealing a Kunai and throwing it at the blonde on the ground. Soon hundreds of Kunai and Shuriken and other weapons raced towards Temari. As before all of the weapons dropped around Temari, Temari had a smirk as her fan was opened a little bit showing a purple dot. "No way, my flying weapons! Is there a secret mechanism in the fan…?" Tenten said as she landed and looked at Temari in shocked. "This is the first star, there are two more. When the third one appears… you will lose." Temari explained. Tenten took a deep breath and then pulled out two more scrolls. She placed them on the ground standing them on their ends. "Hah! No matter what you do, it won't work." Temari said as Tenten started to perform hand signs.

"RISING TWIN DRAGON!" Tenten yelled out as both scrolls exploded in smoke. Temari covered her face with her arm as the two scrolls shot up in the air, swirling around each other. Just like the first scroll, Tenten started unsealing and throwing weapons at Temari. "Even if you increase the amount, it's still the same outcome." Temari said as she opened her fan more, revealing a second dot. Temari swung her fan, throwing off all of the weapons. Soon as Tenten landed she gritted her teeth, "I'm not done yet!" she yelled, flipping through the air. Tenten used chakra strings to connect to the spread out weapons; soon all of the weapons came shooting back down at Temari. Temari blew back all of the weapons and Tenten, as the weapon mistress got up she noticed that Temari was now holding her fan behind her fully opened. "Third Star." Temari spoke as she swirled into nothing.

'She disappeared.' Tenten thought as she looked around for the Sand Ninja. "Where is she?" she asked herself. "I'm over here!" Temari shouted from behind Tenten. 'Dam!' Tenten thought as she looked behind her shoulder. Temari was flying on her fan and landed in front of Tenten. "NINJA ART: WIND SCYTHE JUTSU!" Temari yelled as she swung her fan. Tenten got hit and Temari's Jutsu carried her up and started to cut her all over. Naruto leaned over the balcony railing as he watched Temari's Jutsu hit Tenten. 'I wonder if she's willing to trade some Wind Jutsu's?' Naruto thought as he looked down at Temari. Soon Tenten unconscious body fell as Temari's Jutsu ended, landing on top of Temari's fan. Temari smirked as she flung Tenten's body. "Winner, Temari!" Gekko yelled out. Temari looked up at Naruto and blew him a kiss and winked at him before returning to her spot on the balcony. "What do we have here? Does my Imoto have a crush?" Kakashi asked making Naruto blush more as he watched Temari return to her siblings.

"Wha… No, I'm just keeping up on our relationship with Suna." Naruto replied making most of the Jonin to give him a look of doubt. Naruto turned to Kurenai, "I'll be back." He said as he started to walk away. "What about your match?" Kurenai asked. "I'll be back before then." He replied before he Shunshined away. "I wonder where he's going." Kakashi asked herself as she kept an eye on the Suna Ninja, making sure that none of them left as well. Then the silver haired woman heard her student say something, "What was that Sakura?" she asked the pinkette. "I said wish me luck." Sakura replied as she jumped down into the arena. Kakashi looked up to see who her opponent was and sweat dropped, 'Good luck Sakura, you're going to need it.' She thought as Ino made her way to the ring as well. Gekko looked at the two girls before throwing his arm down. "Begin!" he yelled as he jumped back.

Naruto was in the restroom when he heard the door opened and looked to his side and saw the Hokage standing there. "Hey Hokage-sama what can I do for you?" he asked the man. Hiruzen flinched at how Naruto addressed him but he figured that it's going to take time to repair that bridge and now his former student is in the village and he really didn't trust her, especially around Naruto. "Nothing my dear boy, I just wanted to let you know that I'm needed back in the village and I won't be able to watch your fight." Hiruzen said making the blonde just nod. Hiruzen saw that Naruto was anxious and he knew why, "Relax Naruto it'll be fine." He said as the intercom came on and heard that the match was called, a double knock out. "That was a fast fight." Naruto commented, Hiruzen nodded as he walked out of the bathroom with Naruto. "Indeed it was, well good luck not like you need it." Hiruzen said as he Shunshined away. Naruto heard Sasuke's name and someone named Yoroi, "Guess that I can take my time getting back, although I would really like to see that Uchiha get his ass kicked." Naruto said to himself as he made his way back.

Once Naruto arrived back to his spot on the balcony was when Shion jumped on him. "Daddy I thought that we Uzumaki's could only use the Kitsune Style." She asked worried that their clan secret style was stolen. That's when Naruto snapped his head down to look at the fight below and that was when he became enraged. "Kakashi you let your student copy my style." Naruto growled out as he was about to jump over the railing to stop the match only to be stopped by the silver haired Jonin. "Naruto stop! I don't want you to interrupt their fight. Plus I didn't even know that he copied your style, what's the big deal anyway?" Kakashi asked as she held back Naruto from jumping into the ring. Naruto growled as he shrugged off Kakashi's grip. "The Kitsune style is dangerous and will kill you if you don't have the chakra reserve. That's why we Uzumaki's can use it, we have huge chakra reserves. So now if the Uchiha doesn't have enough chakra his heart is going to stop and he will die." Naruto explained as he watched the match end with Sasuke defeating Yoroi.

Kakashi sighed in relief, 'At least he has the chakra.' She thought looking down at her student. Sasuke had a smug look on his face as he looked up at Naruto. "I see that you like my new fighting style." He said making Naruto and Shion growl. Before Naruto could respond Sasuke dropped to his knees, squeezing his chest and coughing up blood. "Told you so, now he's going to die." Naruto said as he turned his back to Sasuke. Kakashi's eye went wide in horror that's when Shion spoke. "Daddy you can save him like you did to Nee-chan when you were teaching us." Shion said making Naruto growl and narrow his eyes at her. Shion quickly hid back in Kurenai's dress, knowing that she upset Naruto. "Is that true Naruto?" Kurenai asked. "Yes I can save his life but why should I? He stole clan secrets, what will stop him from using it again." Naruto asked, crossing his arms. Satsuki came up and hugged his arm, "Please save my cousin's life." She begged with teary eyes. Naruto looked down at her and sighed, "Fine I'll go and save his life. But it's not for him it's for you." Naruto said licking her cheek. Satsuki stiffened up and blushed, holding her cheek as she watched Naruto jumped over the railing.

Naruto landed next to Sasuke and bit his thumb and summoned his own special Anbu. When the smoke cleared there were four women with fox masks on. "How can we help Uzumaki-sama?" One of the women asked. "I need you four to guard me when I heal Sasuke." He said as he ran his thumb down his right forearm making another cloud of smoke to appear. This time when the smoke cleared a slug was present. "Katsuki-chan after I perform this Jutsu I want you to heal my heart, and you four can have the other medics get Sasuke. You guys understand?" he asked, kneeling next to Sasuke. The four women nodded as Katsuki crawled up onto his chest, ready to start healing. Naruto took a deep breath and started to perform hand signs. "ZENKAI NO JUTSU." He said as his and Sasuke's body started to glow. Sasuke gasped and shot up as Naruto collapsed to the ground. "Now!" one of the masked woman said moving Sasuke so the other medics could take him. The four women tried to make a circle around Naruto, that's when one spoke. "I think we should have the others help out." Then the four women summoned each another masked person. "Naruto-sama needs us to protect him while he heals." The leader said getting nods from the new masked women.

Katsuki tried to heal him but his Henge's were in the way. 'I need to undo them, hope he understands.' She thought as she split her slug body making a clone of herself. The copy quickly went to his side and focused chakra to the two seals on his side. Naruto was enveloped in smoke and when it cleared he had fox ears and a tail making most of the Genin gasp and a few Konoha Jonin narrow their eyes at him. Soon Naruto came to and started to cough up blood, holding his chest. "Fuck me…Why did I agree to do this?" he asked himself as he slowly stood up. "Thank you and you're dismissed." He said to the masked Anbu that was protecting him. Katsuki was still clinging onto his chest, "Umm… Naru-kun I had to undo your Henge to heal you." Katsuki said making Naruto grab his head and felt his fox features. "I guess there's no sense to hide anymore. Thank you Katsuki-chan." He said making his way back up to Kurenai, trying to avoid the glares that he was receiving. Naruto sat down against the wall, coughing as Katsuki continued to heal him. 'I hope that I can rest before I have to fight.' He thought, looking up at the screen.

The names stopped and Gekko announced the next battle. "Can Choji and Dosu please come down." Gekko asked. Naruto sighed in relief as he closed his eyes to rest. Temari and Gaara had their eyes glued to the blonde, interested in his appearance. 'Kami he's even more cuter!' Temari screamed in her head as she blushed thinking about him. Gaara was in the same boat as Temari, but Shukaku wasn't happy and demanded his blood. Naruto sat and listened to the battle and opened one of his eyes to see. Soon the battle was over and Dosu was the winner. 'Hmm that was a foolish way to try and beat your opponent. You're lucky that he decided not to kill you.' Naruto thought as he watched the medics carry off the Akimichi. He looked back up at the board as it started to spin the names then it stopped. "Misumi and Kankoro come on down." Gekko said getting the two Genin to jump into the ring. Naruto decided to watch as he was curious.

Kankoro took off the bandage item on his back and slammed it on the ground as Misumi charged and threw a punch that got blocked. As Kankoro held Misumi's wrist, Misumi arms and legs soon slithered up Kankoro's body and around his neck, making him drop his package. "I dislocate every joint and with chakra, I can control my softened body at will." Misumi said as he tightened his hold on Kankoro. "I can also squeeze until your bones break. I'll rapidly tighten as long as you don't give up. I don't know what kind of ninja tool that you use but if I keep doing this to your body, it will make no difference. I can break your neck right now, so hurry up and give up." Misumi said as his body coiled more around Kankoro's body. Kankoro then grinned, "No idiot. You're the one who's going to die." Kankoro said then a loud snap was heard and Kankoro's head dropped. "He broke his neck!" Shion said making the other Genin to look on in terror.

Naruto started to chuckle, making everyone to look at him. "What so funny? A ninja just died." Guy asked enraged. Naruto just shook his head, "And here I thought you were a Jonin. Keep watching." Naruto replied turning back to the match. Soon pieces of kankoro's face started to fall off and his head spun around to look at Misumi. "Okay, now it's my turn." Kankoro said, then his arms shot out and wrapped around Misumi and squeezed him. "Th-this is a puppet." Misumi said as he struggled to get free. The bandages on the supposed ninja tool unwrapped showing the real Kankoro. "He's…a Puppet Master…" Misumi whispered. "He's controlling the puppet with chakra from his hand." Satsuki said, amazed at what she was seeing. Kankoro made the puppet squeezed harder making Misumi scream out in pain. "If your bones get crushed, you'll be able to bend even more, huh?" Kankoro asked as Misumi fell to the ground unconscious. "Winner, by an inability to continue the match by the opponent, is Kankoro." Gekko announced.

Everyone looked over at Naruto who was smiling. "How did you know that he wasn't the real one?" Kakashi asked. Naruto didn't want to spill his secrets so he decided to give the silver haired Jonin a simple answer. "I'm a ninja." He said making everyone sweat drop from his answer. Then the screen stopped showing the next battle. Naruto sighed as he saw his name on the screen. "Dam I was hoping to rest a little more." He said, coughing up a small glob of blood as he stood. "Sorry Katsuki-chan but you'll have to wait up here." he said as he removed the glowing slug from his chest. "But Naru-kun I'm not done healing you and you can hurt yourself even more." Katsuki said in a worried voice. "The slug is right you should forfeit Naruto. You're still injured really bad." Kurenai said trying to convince Naruto to not to fight. "Don't worry Kurenai-Sensei I'll be fine." He said as he went into a coughing fit.

"Will Naruto and Kiba please come down." Gekko said and before Kurenai or Katsuki could respond, Naruto jumped over the railing and landed in the ring. Ino and the others gave Kiba a nod before she jumped into the ring. Akamaru jumped out of Kiba's shirt and stood next to her ready for battle. "You're not going to have Kaga and Shion help you?" she asked, looking at the blonde. Naruto smiled and coughed, "Sorry to disappoint you but I won't be needing them." Naruto said as he unsealed his sword. Kiba growled at him for calling her weak, "Don't underestimate us!" Kiba yelled out as she got down and ready to attack. Gekko looked at the two Genin and yelled "Begin!" and jumped back. Naruto immediately took the chance to land the first strike. Grabbing the hilt of his Kusanagi and quickly unsheathed it, Kiba already in her stance to attack, quickly moving back as Naruto took a step forward and swung a frontal slash.

Naruto only smirked at Kiba's movement as he changed his blade's direction from a frontal slash to a diagonal uppercut one as he had the tip cut through the ground, only to throw the dug up rubble at Kiba, forcing her to quickly close her eyes to shield them from the dirt and rubble. Hearing the quick footsteps of Naruto as he charged at her, the ring of his blade cutting through the air entered her ears as well. Kiba turned her body towards Naruto and wiped her eyes; slowly opening them enough that she saw Naruto was now attempting a side slash with his blade. Kiba quickly taking out a Kunai from her pouch, Kiba clashed its metal with the blade for a moment, slowly down its movement as she proceeded to back kick her opponent. The strike sent Naruto a few feet as he skidded to a stop, Kiba placing her foot down as she faced Naruto, noticing the irritated look on his face.

"Nice! Kiba landed the first hit!" Ino said having a wide smile on her face along most of her friends. "Don't get to excited, the match just begun." Kurenai said as she looked over at the group of Genin. "Yea Daddy is going to win! Just you watch." Shion added as she watched Naruto and Kiba fight. Kakashi chuckled at Shion as she put away her book and saw Naruto tightly grip his blade as he prepared for another strike, Kiba widen her stance in case she needed to back away. The two Genin began to move circles around each other as they waited for the right moment to move. Kiba making the first move as she threw her Kunai at Naruto only for it to be deflected away with his sword. Naruto attempt a downwards strike only for Kiba to dodge it by jumping to the side.

Kiba began throwing a fury of blows as Naruto easily dodged and blocked them. "Is this the best that you can do?" he asked, taunting her as he continued to block her strikes. "Shut up and fight back!" she shouted as Naruto grinned. "If you say so." He replied and started to counter and went on the offensive. Blow after blow Naruto kept hitting her and making her even angrier. "How are you this strong?" Kiba panted out as she skidded backwards. "It's my Kitsune Style; it's told that it even can rival the Hyuga's. But I haven't had the chance to try it though." He explained then Akamaru barked. Naruto raised his eye at the dog and then at Kiba. "What special plan?" he asked making Kiba smile. "She's talking about this!" Kiba yelled as she reached in her pouch and threw a stack of photos at Naruto.

Naruto looked down at the pictures and saw that it was of his Sensei's and other guys. He saw pictures with Kurenai and Asuma, Hana and Iruka, Yugao and Gekko, and then there was Anko she was with Kakashi and then there were pictures with her, Izumo and Kotetsu. Naruto looked up at Kurenai then over at Anko who just looked away shamed. Naruto fought back his tears as his emotions started to build up and he started to go into his one tail cloak. "Now Akamaru!" Kiba yelled out as she tossed the dog a pellet that transformed her into a clone of Kiba. "MAN BEAST TAIJJUTSU ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE… FANG OVER FANG!" Kiba yelled as both her and Akamaru started to spin. Naruto quickly spun around and blocked Akamaru with his sword. Sparks started to fly then Naruto lost his grip, making his sword fly out of his hand and landed behind him.

Quickly Naruto jumped and crescent kicked her into a wall. Once Naruto landed he turned to go pick up his sword only to stop and look at the pictures on the ground. "Akamaru! You're going to pay for that!" Kiba yelled as she started to perform her technique. Naruto quickly spun around again, this time he caught Kiba by the throat and released an ungodly amount of KI and bloodlust that made Kiba wet herself. Everyone else was shocked by what Naruto had done and all of the present Genin were shaking in fear while the Jonin were trying to keep their cool. Gekko was about to call the match to save the Inuzuka, only to be stopped by Anko who was shaking her head no at him. Shion popped her head out and jumped out of Kurenai's shirt and tried to jump over the railing, but was stopped by Kurenai. "Sorry Shion but you can't go down there. It's not safe plus you might get Naruto disqualified." She said as she held the small fox.

"Let go! If I don't stop Daddy, he's going to kill Kiba Ba-chan!" Shion yelled getting Kakashi and the Konoha Genin to look at her. "What do you mean?" Ino asked but Shion couldn't waste any more time so she bit Kurenai. "Ouch!" the ruby eyed Jonin yipped as she held her now bleeding hand. "Sorry Ba-chan." Was all Shion said before jumping into the ring. They watched as Shion ran up to Naruto and started to pull on his pant leg, trying to get his attention. "Not now Shion." He said as he lifted Kiba up higher and tightens his grip. Kiba was gasping for air as she pulled out a Kunai and stabbed his arm but he didn't even flinch just growled. Shion saw and tried again but this time she decided to bite Naruto's ankle. Naruto let out a loud yip followed by a growl. "Daddy please stop! Don't kill Ba-chan." Shion pleaded. Naruto looked down and growled, "Go wait by Kaga-" he said but was interrupted by Shion. "But daddy…" Shion whined out. "Now!" Naruto barked out making Shion run away towards Anko and Kaga.

Kiba looked into Naruto's red slit eyes and feared for her life as she struggled to get free. Naruto growled and dropped Kiba, right before she hit the ground he kicked her and sent her flying. In an instant he was behind her and kicked her again but this time be broke her ribs. Lee was shocked as he looked at his Sensei, "Guy-Sensei how can he move that fast without opening any gates?" he asked looking up at his twin. "I'm not sure." Guy said as he looked over at Kurenai for answers. "That's easy he trained just like you guys and he uses chakra to help him so he doesn't have to open any gates." She said making Lee jealous. Naruto sent Kiba flying once more and before she could hit the wall Naruto appeared above her and brought his elbow down on her back. As she hit the ground a large spider web crack formed under her as she coughed up blood.

Naruto stood over Kiba with his arms crossed, "Give up Kiba, you don't have a chance in winning this fight." He said making Kiba grunt as she lifted herself up. "Fine I guess that you leave me with no other choice." He said pulling out a Kunai and walking over to Akamaru. He bent over and picked up the white dog by the nape of her neck making her yipp in pain. Kiba shot her head over to look at Naruto and Akamaru when her eyes went wide in horror. "Please don't hurt her!" Kiba begged as she watched Naruto place his Kunai at her throat. "I won't, all you have to do is give up and Akamaru won't die." He replied. Kiba cried as she watched blood slowly drip down the Kunai and Akamaru yipping and crying out, "You win! I give up, so please stop hurting Akamaru." Kiba cried out. Naruto walked over and set Akamaru down next to Kiba and then looked at Gekko. "Winner by forfeit, Naruto Uzumaki." Gekko announced.

Soon the medics came and placed Kiba and Akamaru on a stretcher and wheeled her away. Naruto turned to retrieve his sword only to stop at the pictures. He bent down and picked them up and sealed them away in his trench coat. He then picked up his sword and sealed it away as well, looking up at the Konoha group and feeling their emotions he decided that he would go and sit with the other ninjas. As he started to walk up the stairs was when the screen showed the next match. "Gaara and Rock Lee please come down." Gekko said. Naruto had a grin on his face as he walked up the stairs and stop Gaara as she was walking down. He leaned in and whispered, "Keep attacking him and whatever you do don't let him take off his weights. And try not to kill him." He whispered and continued to walk up the stairs. Guy and Asuma narrowed their eyes at Naruto and wondered what he said to the red head. Gaara didn't know why he said what he did to her and why would he help her.

Guy reached his arm out and stopped Naruto as he walked by. "What did you say to that Suna Ninja?" he asked, worried for his student. Naruto growled as he looked down at Guy's hand on his chest. "If you want to keep your hand I suggest that you remove it." Naruto said leaking some KI. "Are you threaten your superiors?" Asuma asked as he walked up to them. Before Naruto could say anything Kurenai and Kakashi stepped in. "He's not and Guy I would really appreciate you to not touch my student. Now Naru-kun what did you say?" she asked but received a growl from him. "Well first thing first it's Naruto not Naru-kun and second I just kindly ask that she wouldn't kill him. Because you know not having chakra and all." Naruto said taking jabs at both Guy and Kurenai.

Guy removed his hand but was furious at Naruto's statement. "Lee can beat most people in a match and-" Guy was cut off by Naruto. "Yea he can beat most people in Taijutsu but guess what he's useless when it comes to long range Ninjutsu. Don't get me started on when he gets stuck in a Genjutsu." Naruto said as he started to walk away. When he sat down he looked over at Guy and added, "I really don't know how he became a Ninja, given that he failed the academy test. If it was me they wouldn't bat an eye to fail me but that's the village we live in, you just have to know the right people and well liked." Naruto added making Asuma and Guy grit their teeth. Temari saw and heard a little and decided to walk over to Naruto and sit down next to him. Naruto opened one of his eyes and looked at the blonde Kunoichi. "H-hey Temari h-how can I help you?" he asked.

Temari smirked and scratched his ear, "I just wanted to sit next to you, I can can't I?" she said making Naruto sigh. "You just want to play with my ears and whiskers." He replied as a slug slowly climbed up on his chest and started to glow green. "I don't care what you two do as long as Naru-kun holds still while I finish healing him." The slug said, shocking Temari. Both Kaga and Shion saw Temari playing with Naruto's ear and nodded at each other before jumping out of Anko's shirt and up to the balcony. Soon they both were at Naruto's legs, Kaga jumped up on his lap but Shion looked sad. Naruto saw and quickly picked her up and cradled her. "It's alright Shion-chan I'm not mad at you, you were just trying to save Kiba-chan." He said and licked her cheek which made her purr. Naruto sat Shion down next to Kaga but she decided she would sit on Temari's lap, in hopes that she would stop playing with Naruto's ears. Which it did Temari was in love and started to pet and scratch Shion which caused her to purr. "Daddy can you pet me too?" Kaga asked Naruto. Naruto smiled and started to pet and scratch Kaga as he leaned back and closed his eyes.

Down in the arena Lee was having a hard time, he couldn't land any blows on the red head as her sand acted as a protective barrier. That's when he jumped up on the statue to take off his weights and just as Naruto mentioned to her earlier she continued to attack Lee. Lee tried to get away but Gaara caught him with her sand, he yelled out in pain. "Now it's my turn, SAND COFFIN!" Gaara said as she closed her fist. Lee screamed at the top of his lungs as his arm and leg were crushed in the sand, blood shot out as Lee fell to the ground. Gaara grinned as she shot her sand at Lee shocking Gekko and Guy, but before the sand could reach Lee Guy was there in an instant knocking away the sand. Guy scowled at Gaara, "He's an important subordinate whom I care for!" Guy yelled making Gaara walk away as her sand started to refill her gourd. "I quit." She said while walking away shocking some of the Genin. "She quit?" Sakura asked looking to her Sensei. "The moment Guy jumped into in, Lee lost." Kakashi said. "Winner Gaara!" Gekko announced.

The board quickly announced the last battle which Gekko read. "Can Neji Hyuga and Hinata Hyuga please come down." He said as both Hyuga's making their way down. As Neji glared at the nervous Hinata he said one thing before Gekko began their match. "Just one thing before we square off against each other in the fight… I should advise you, Lady Hinata. Withdraw! You're not suited to being a Shinobi. You're too nice; you wish for harmony and avoid conflict, you're open to going with the thinking of others. And you have no confidence in yourself." Hinata bowed her head in shame at Neji's words, knowing that they were all true. Naruto growled as he listened to Neji belittle Hinata, scooting closer towards the railing to get a better view. Both Hinata and Neji activated their Byakugan and got into the Gentle Fist.

Soon the two Hyuga's were trading blow after blow, dodging and deflecting each other's attack. 'There!' Hinata thought as she saw an opening. As she threw her palm at Neji's stomach, missing and just grazing the male Hyuga. Then Hinata landed a strike which made Naruto grin then he saw that Neji land one as well. Hinata then coughed up a little blood while Neji wasn't even fazed by Hinata's attack, that's when Naruto noticed. Neji had canceled out Hinata's attack by hitting one of her chakra points in her arm while striking her in her chest with is other. Hinata quickly knocked away Neji's hand and went in for another strike only for Neji to block and hit another one of her chakra points. Hinata was breathing hard as Neji held her arm, rolling up her sleeve with his other showing Hinata all of the chakra points that he closed. "Y-you mean… All this time…" Hinata spoke. "That's right! I can see the chakra points." Neji answered as he hit her with his free hand, launching her backwards onto her back.

Neji scoffed as he watched Hinata slowly get back on her feet. "I'm not going to give up!" she panted out as she activated her Byakugan. "Bring it on!" Neji replied as he activated his Byakugan as well. Hinata then grunted and clutched her chest and coughed up blood. 'She's at her limit, one more and she'll...' Naruto thought as he continued to watch. "Look at his eyes. Is he going to try and kill her? No, no that's absurd." Ino said as she and the others watched. Hinata then charged at Neji and they started to trade blows once again, neither was able to land any of their strikes. Then Hinata lost her footing and Neji was able to land an uppercut, knocking Hinata back. As Hinata looked at Neji she started to go into a coughing fit and once it was over she went and charged Neji once again. Neji dodged her attack and landed his own attack. Hinata spit up some more blood before collapsing to the ground.

"You just don't get it, do you? Your strikes were ineffective from the very beginning. It's the end." Neji said as he stood over Hinata. As Neji started to walk away Gekko walked forward and was about to call the match when Hinata started to stand back up. It took her a little bit to get back to her feet but she managed, holding her chest in the process. "Why did you stand back up? You should give up and end your suffering." Neji asked as he watched Hinata struggle. Neji activated his Byakugan once more alerting the Jonin and Naruto, "Because I can tell… that you are suffering more than I." Hinata replied. Neji scowled at Hinata and started to charge at her, "Neji, the match has been called!" Gekko yelled as he ran to stop Neji. Naruto saw and quickly Shunshin down and deflected his blow and before Naruto could do anything else he was sent flying into the nearby wall. Guy turned around to face an angry Kurenai and Kakashi and was confused, that's when Kakashi spoke. "Guy if you ever lay a finger on my Ototo again I'll kill you." The silver haired woman threatened.

"And after Kakashi's done you will have to deal with Anko and I." Kurenai said as she held onto Neji. Guy gulped as he looked at the two angry women. "He was attacking my student so I had every right-" Guy was cut off by Kakashi. "That's bullshit and you know it. Naruto only deflected Neji's attack saving Hinata's life. Plus I believe that you had other motives in attacking." Kakashi said making Guy grunt. "You and I both know that I don't care what he is." Guy added. "Maybe but you'll have to look at it from Naruto's point of view. He probably thinks that you wouldn't do that to anyone else, you wanna guess why?" Kurenai asked then the entire arena was filled with KI as Naruto stepped out of the hole in the wall. "I'll kill you!" Naruto yelled as he ran at Guy. Anko was able to reach him first and quickly chopped the back of his neck, efficiently knocking out Naruto. "I'll take him to the Hokage's office, Nai-chan can you get his number for him?" Anko asked as Kaga jumped out of her shirt and up on the stretcher with Hinata. Shion saw and decided to follow her. "We'll stay with Hinata Ba-chan." Shion said as the medics carried them away.

And Again I apologize for not updating the story sooner, as I said I've been in and out of the hospital, they found cancer so if I don't update in a while don't fret I'm still writing just taking my time. The names that you see below are it I'm not taking any more requests. If you don't see a name on the list that you would like to see don't worry they might be added later, I haven't wrote down all names as I don't want to spoil the story so thanks!
