Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with the movie...I just felt like playing with the characters.

Summary: Post-movie drabble. (It's the first one I've ever done so...hopefully it's a good one.) Kate has so many things to be thankful for...and one in particular...

Please: Read & review! I hope you like it!

Thank You

Finally!

Things couldn't have worked out better. Alex had waited! Thank you, God, for making him wait. Thank you for making him come back to the lake house. Thank you for letting him find my letter. Thank you for explaining to me why he never met me that night two years ago. And thank you for bringing us together!

"Kate?"

Alex stood in the doorway, leaning against the door facing, watching me with concern. I was busted, sitting down and gazing out the window over the water once again. Caught remembering the past, and how things could have turned out. Again. I just hope he knows how much I love him.

Alex walked over, knelt beside Jack and myself and laid a hand on my knee. "Are you all right?"

I smiled at him as I looked into his deep brown eyes.

"I'm…perfect," I told him as I took his hand. "Have I told you that I'm thankful you waited?"

He smiled that knee-weakening smile of his, and I grinned ear-to-ear in return. "Every day."

'Good,' I thought to myself. 'That's very good.'

"I love you, Kate," Alex looked into my eyes, his sparkling with sincerity.

"I love you too, Alex," I replied as he leaned in to kiss me.

Our marriage was only weeks away and we had so much to plan for, so much to be thankful for. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and buried my face into the crook of his neck, breathing in his cologne. The scent had come to mean home to me. I took a deep breath and sighed.

'Thank you, God. Thank you.'
