After being told the recap Gorgonzola just stood there, looking at Chowder. "So, you're pretending to be Panini's boyfriend to get Blurpleberries from her and at the end of the month you're going to dump her"
"Well, I would not say it like that... but yes" Chowder explained, defending his actions with the notion that she deserved it with how much she clung to and pushed him. the Pink Cabbit just could not take the hint that he wasn't interested in her, having little concern for her feelings.
Gorgonzola smirked, admitting he was actually impressed with Chowder's plan. the green Rat had often been on the victim's end of bullying at the hands of Panini and as such he had been searching for a metaphorical chink in her armor. Chowder dumping her would certainly sting because that was worse than declaring he wasn't her boyfriend; it was giving her hope only to yank it away.
"Relax Tubs, I wouldn't go blabbing to anyone about this, just let me know when and where the big break up is going down, I would not want to miss the look of her face" Gorgonzola replied getting his answers so he had no reason to stay, leaving Chowder to play with his cooking utensils, Gorgonzola stood on the windowsill, holding a bag over his head as his flame made him float off like a hot air balloon.
After the rat left Chowder simply looked at Mr. Spoon and Miss Cookpot. It was then his stomach growled, signaling it was dinner time and he usually helped Mung in the kitchen. after cleaning up his toys he headed down to the kitchen to where Mung was preparing a pot of stew, running his finger along the broth to taste it. while delicious it was missing something, seeing his apprentice enter. Mung handed Chowder a cutting board "Why don't you get started on those mutton button cuts"
Chowder looked seeing a log of meat in a wooden box, he grabbed one of the chef's knifes which Mung had only recently trusted him with as he used his chopping skills to cut the piece of meat into slices.
"Nice knife work Num Nums" Chowder heard as he blinked, back at Carlito's with Panini's standing right next to him, playing Chop Chop Evolution as she looked at him, putting her hand over his as he kept rocking the controller "How about a kiss?" she asked puckering her lips as Chowder recoiled, snapping back into reality as the knife slipped from his sweaty hand, flying through the room, landing in the wall.
"Maybe I was too rushed, thinking you were ready for knives" Mung replied, pulling the knife from the wall as Chowder, just simply put his hands behind his back "I will admit the meat was cut exceptionally".
"It wasn't my fault Mung, it's this girl that... say no more chowder" Mung replied, cleaning off the knife as he looked at his apprentice as making his way to the cutting board.
"The Misses told me, you have a little girlfriend" Mung went on as Chowder sweated, covering his mouth before replying "she's not my girlfriend" he thought to himself but he wasn't allowed to say that.
"In all honesty Mung, I don't think it's going to last, she's so clingy and icky, I just decided to give her month to get her off my back, but I'm sure I'll break it off" Chowder replied. as Mung nodded, supervising Chowder as he resumed cutting the carrots.
"Ahh I remember my 'Girls are icky phase' but trust me Chowder there will come a time where things will change and girls will seem less icky and it sounds like this girl is into you" Mung replied, tasting the carrot as Chowder admitting that thoughts of her kept wiggling into his head. "In time you might find out you actually like this girl" Mung replied, telling him a short story about his childhood with Truffles.
Chowder did not know what to say, would him telling Mung he didn't like Panini violate their agreement, he decided to keep it to himself as Mung asked about this mystery girl that Chowder was seeing. Chowder was hesitant in telling him that the girl in question was Panini, Endive's apprentice. "I don't want to talk about it"
At Endive's the young pink Cabbit girl sat at the dinner table where the meal was laid out in front of her, complementing her master for the meal which looked fancy. Endive placed the server in the dish, scooping up a block of Sandcastlerole, placing it on Panini's plate with a side of scalloped Grotatoes sliced 24 karat carrots, topped with a golden garnish.
She ran her fork through the dish, already missing her boyfriend, the date they shared filled with arcade games and greasy pizza. despite the dinner looking so good she valued her previous meal more, bringing her fork to her mouth, tasting the dish. it had flavor but it was subtle. Despite being Endive's apprentice Panini really did not care for the 'fancy foods' that Endive regularly served, wonder what Chowder was eating right now, probably something with a lot of flavor, in large quantities.
she set her fork down daydreaming as Endive was halfway through her Sandcastlerole when she noticed Panini lost in her thought. "Panini dear, is everything alright, you've barely touched your dinner" Endive asked, picking that something was off as the young Cabbit rolled one of the carrots with her fork.
"I guess i'm just not hungry Miss Endive, I know we worked super hard on this dish" panini replied, putting another spoonful of the casserole in her mouth. clearly earning the name as it tasted just like sand, but she ate it as Endive looked at her, noticing that Panini had been off recently.
Panini simply stabbed another slice of carrot with her fork, taking a bite, pulling the garnish off her tongue as she looked at her master, asking if gold was meant to be consumed. Endive replied it was not toxic and merely a status thing. the Cabbit set the garnish on her plate, not liking the metallic taste halfway into her meal Panini looked up, asking for permission to be excused from the table.
"Just make sure to clean the dishes before you go to bed" Endive replied as Panini nodded, leaving the dining room the climbing up the marble staircase that led to her bedroom. Plopping on her bed Panini reached in her mouth, pulling out a loose piece of garnish, flicking it aside.
The Cabbit decided to take a chance, scooting belly down on her bed to her rotary phone, poking her finger in the hole, turning the wheel. a ringing was heard as Chowder's voice was heard.
"Mung Daal's Catering, we're closed today" he replied as Panini clench her fist in triumph, getting him on the first ring.
"Hey Chowder, how's your dinner going" Panini asked as Chowder was standing at the phone. holding his bowl of stew, finding the question weird but he responded that it was good, though Chowder thought everything was good, except Mevilled Schmeggs for some reason. as Panini asked what he was eating.
"It's just a bowl of soup, veggies, meat and broth, oh we have these little bread things we dip in it" Chowder replied, seeming to enjoy the conversation when it came to food. for some reason talking to Panini over phone was much easier for Chowder than talking with her in person.
"Sounds delicious, wish I was there, Endive found this book about sophisticated eating, she made Sandcastlerole for dinner, it was... ugh" she went on" twirling her finger around the cord as Chowder was a bit confused. "I just saw you a couple hours ago"
"And I already miss you" Panini replied, kicking her feet in the air, playfully as her green clogs slipped off her feet, clattering on her floor as she talked to Chowder, mentioning that she bought a new swimsuit and wanted him to see her in it. "So, what are you doing" she asked.
"Eating, what about you?" Chowder asked, raising his spoon, sipping the broth, not really interested in her activities but responded only to be nice. Paini simply tugged her finger, gently pulling the cord.
"Just laying here in bed, thinking about you" she replied as he blushed nervously, looking for an excuse to get away from the phone. "I think I hear Mung calling, see you later" he replied hanging up. there was just something about the concept of Panini laying in bed that just made Chowder freeze up.
The dial tone was heard as Panini just laid there on her bed, setting the phone down on the hook, she forgot to actually make plans as she realized what she said and how it came off, chuckling.
"He thought I was...that is priceless" Panini chuckled she rolled over on her back, looking up at the ceiling to see Endive in the hallway as the Cabbit gasped in surprise. "Who were you talking to Panini?"
Panini just recoiled, saying it was a personal call, that she had a life outside of being her apprentice. Endive simply looked at her, concluding it was that boy Panini was super into. Endive did not know much but even she could tell he wasn't into her.
"I'm telling you Panini, that romance will never last" she replied as she's been fawning over this boy for a while. this seemed to strike a nerve with Panini as she looked at Endive, claiming she knew nothing about him. part of her really wanted to rub the fact that she went on a date in her master's face, but Panini wasn't stupid enough to piss Endive off
"When you're done dealing with your kiddie crush head downstairs, the dishes are dirty" Endive said leaving the hall as Panini sighed, getting off her bed.
she reached for her clogs putting them back on as she headed downstairs to the dining room. the small Cabbit gathered the dirty dishes, heading to the kitchen to wash them. Panini was halfway through the dished when her tongue was sending a message to her brain, she needed real food, not a castlerole that consisted of sand.
After washing and drying Panini made her way back up the bedroom, finding the crate of Blurpleberries on her windowsill, pulling one of the fruits from the basket, taking a bite as she fell back on her bed, shuddering in foodgasm.
(I was on the fence about Endive knowing about Panini's crush on chowder, in the show she either doesn't know or doesn't care)
