JENNIE

When I wakes up, it's to the sun light hitting my face and the smell of bacon. I rubs my eyes and blinked several times as I sits up. It took me a few seconds to get my bearing and remember where exactly I was.

I was in Lisa's room.

I takes in the room's decor and pulls the duvet off the bed and gets up. I was still in the same shirt and sweatpants. I comb my hair using my hand and made my way towards the bathroom, I finds it after two tries and looked around for a new toothbrush.

A few minutes later I comes out of the room and made my way towards the noise. I finds the kids in the kitchen, all of them seated and staring at the stack of waffles in the middle of the table. Lisa had just placed a bottle of chocolate syrup on the table.

"Morning, my lovelies." I said as I walked into the kitchen. Lily, Lego and Luca all turn to look at me in shock. I walked towards them and pressed a kiss to their heads.

"How was your night?" Kuma asked when I pressed a kiss to his head.

"Good. How was yours?"

All the kids began to talk at once, I trying my best to listen to their various stories. I takes a seat at the table and Lisa slides over a plate of waffles covered with chocolate syrup.

She sits quietly at the table, occasionally putting her two cents in especially when Luca talked about the dream he had where he was chased by a tall ice cream. Kuma was in charge of cleaning the dishes and that's when I decides to take my leave.

While Luca and Lily were watching tv and Kuma and Lego were typing away on their phone, I made my way to Lisa who was in the kitchen, drinking a cup of water.

"Thank you for letting me stay over."

She drops her cup onto the table and wipes her mouth with her hand. "You're welcome."

"I'm going to go now. I have a couple of drafts to sort through."

"Oh. Okay. Your keys are in the bowl by the door." She said and began to walk towards the door. I bids my kids goodbye and leaves with the promise of them going to see the new Spider-Man movie when they come home.

I don't speak to Lisa on my way out, I just grabbed my keys while Lisa quietly walked me back to my car.

Rosé came back with a bang.

A literal bang.

Thankfully the kids were at the school and it wasn't the middle of the night. Rosé struggled as she tried to pull a big bag into the house, her hair pulled into a high bun.

"What the hell is in there?" I asked as I hurried to help her with the bag. Once the bag was in, she shut the door and pulled me into a tight hug.

"I got everyone a little something while I was on tour." Rosé replied, her nose pressed into my neck. She pull back after a few seconds and takes a good look at me. "Are you alright? Have you spoken to Mino since The Incident?" Rosé asked and me shook my head.

For the first time in two years, I was scared to call my friend. I knew I had hurt Mino's feelings and I wanted to apologize but I was just scared. What would I say? What could I do to make this all better?

"It's going to be alright. Mino is a big boy." Rosé said and pressed a kiss to my cheeks.

"He's my friend."

"Just give him time, he'll come around." Rosé replied. She falls to the floor beside the bag and pulled down the zipper. Rosé has bought bags of candy, two doll houses for Lily, a large teddy bear for Luca that he could cuddle with, a personalized duvet for Lego with his favorite quote from Harry Potter: Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.

The quote made me uncomfortable sometimes, to be honest and for the life of me, I didn't know why. Besides that, Rosé had also gotten them games as well as shoes and clothes.

"You're spoiling my children, Rosé."

"I'm just doing my god-motherly duties." She replied. She pulls out a box from the bag and hands it to me. "I got this for you. I thought you might like it."

I let out a laugh when I opened the box and saw what was in there. There were different kind of bookmarks, there was one with cat ears and I feels like it was going to become my favorite, a mug, a paper weight, vanilla scented candles, a bottle of wine and a hard cover of Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen.

"Thank you so much."

"Anything for you. You're my best friend."

"I also got you a couple of records, they're in here somewhere." She said, waving her hand in front of the bag. I leaned over and hugged her again. I had actually missed her.

We had a late lunch and watched reruns of Games of Thrones until Rosé clapped her hands like she remembered something.

"There's this party thing a friend is throwing and I'd love it if you could come."

"Rosé..."

"Please. I will personally find a sitter for you." She pleads, her eyes wide and hands clapped in front of her as she begged. I tried to say no but like always her puppy dog eyes works on me.

"Fine. I'll ask Kuma if he can sit in. When is the party?"

"Tomorrow."

"Rosé!"

"What? Better late than never!" She replies with a grin. She looked like a cat who just got the cream. I slammed her with a throw pillow and got slapped in return and hence a pillow fight begun.

"If you need anything or if anything happens, just call me." I told Kuma as I hands him my ATM card. It's a bit past seven and Rosé was waiting outside.

I had my Chanel see through, sleeveless, short dress, tank, ruched dresses for cocktail with my high heels. The last thing I needed was for my children to see my nipples through my dress.

"Miemie, you look hot. and I'm fine! Go and have fun." Kuma says and I nods. Yeah, Kuma was going to be fine. This wasn't his first time watching his siblings.

I pulls Kuma in for a hug and ruffles his hair when I pulls back. Lego, Lily and Luca were in the living room munching on pizza.

"Don't overthink this and just have fun, okay?" Rosé cheered once me got into the car, she had brought her red Benz tonight. The drive to the house where the party was being hosted was short, there was even a valet.

The house itself was magnificent, it was large and had a huge fountain at the front in the middle of the driveway. I stared at the house with wide eyes. The house was big, white walls and Victorian windows.

"Who is this friend?"

"He's an investor."

"Who, Rosé?"

"It's Jiyong Kwon." She said and I almost tripped. I turned to my friend, my mouth hanging open a bit. I was in Jiyong Kwon's house. The man who had started his company at twenty three and became a billionaire at 28.

"Rosé... I'm going home."

"What? Noo!! Please! We're already here. Let's just let loose for the night." She pleases, her hand still on my arm.

Fine. I could do this, it wasn't like I was actually going to meet the man himself, it was a big house and a big party. I follows Rosé up to the door, the music was loud and the lights were out, multicolored light flashing from projectors overhead.

People were dancing and I had this strong urge to go home. However, the feeling melted away when I stepped into the house. Rosé took the time to introduce me to plenty people before taking an excuse to use the bathroom, leaving me to myself.

I found myself walking away from the crowd and up the stairs. There were people there too. I takes a gulp from the glass of wine in my hand as I looked for somewhere to sit that was crowded with people making out. I finds a small door down the corridor, it looked like a small storage space. I pulled it open, expecting to find a small room but finds stairs instead.

I goes up the stairs until I got to the door and pushed it open. It lead to a wide terrace. Feeling excited I ran onto the terrace screaming, bursting into a small laugh as I did.

I spun around, my hand raised into the air. Thankfully i had dropped my coat in the coat room and was just in my dress, the wind flowing through my long hair.

"Adorable." Someone says and I lets out a horrifying scream. I spun around, reading to cuss at the person when I saw who it was.

Standing to the side was Jiyong himself. His red hair was styled into a bun and his beard was brushed smooth. He was tall and muscular, his legs wrapped in tight jeans and he had on a red shirt with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows. The man was hot.

I takes a step back and managed not to drop my glass wine. "Don't stop now. You're adorable."

"I... uh...

"Are you shy?" He asked and I shakes my head. I am speechless, I was just flabbergasted. He takes another step back and licked his lips. "Oh. That was rude of me. My name is Jiyong Kwon but my friends call me GD!"

I smiles at that. "So do I call you GD?"

"Pretty girl call me GD."

I scoffs and takes a gulp of my drink before speaking. "I'm not a pretty girl, GD. I'm a thirty something year old woman with four kids."

"Four?"

"Yeah. Is that a problem?"

GD gives me an obvious once over, his smirk still on place. He walked closer to me and stands in front of him. "You look amazing for someone with four kids. How old is the last?"

"He's four. My little angel."

"I'm sure he looks just like you. Pretty."

I scoffs and shakes my head. "Flattery will get you nowhere."

"I beg to differ. I only speak the truth." Jiyong replies. "How did you get up here any way?"

"I found the stairs. I came here with Rosé, she wanted us to have fun."

"Why aren't you down there with her?"

"Too crowded. I haven't been to somewhere this crowded in years." I replied honestly, my hand gripping the wine of glass tightly.

"You're welcome to spend your time up here." He said. "We could talk and I could get to know you better and if all goes well, we could have dinner on sunday."

My heart almost fell right out of my chest. I wasn't sure what to do. No one had ever come on to her this strong before.

"Who says I'll go to dinner with you?"

He shrugged. "I don't mind. If you're uncomfortable we could see a movie instead."

"You don't take no for an answer, do you?"

He shook his head, his shoulders shaking as he laughed. He takes a step closer to me and looked down at me, his hands still his pocket.

"Why don't you stay for a while? You don't have to say anything, I would just crack a few jokes."

"Tell me a joke and if I laugh, I'll have dinner with you." I asked, my interest piqued and brow raised.

"Why do seagulls fly over the sea?" He asks, biting down on his bottom lip to keep back his laugh.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because if they flew over the bay they'd be bagels."

I don't even try to hold it back.

I laughs.
