Karaoke Love
A/N: It's November 14, 2022 as I am writing this, and I just got a comment on this story asking if I planned to finish it. I couldn't think of how to start this chapter, and I'm reading this story as I'm writing this. I know I said I was moving the stories with lyrics to AO3, but I also said the FF app, and Microsoft Word app is the only way I can read my stories away from my computer.
Disclaimer: I don't own the songs
Chapter 2: New Beginnings And Histories Repeating
A week later, Noah took Liza Marie to daycare and noticed a group of kids gawking at him. That was not the first time he took her to daycare, but it was the first time the kids stared at him in fear or shock. Then Noah asks Liza Marie, "Squirt, why are those kids looking at me like I'm the Hulk?"
Liza Marie blushes and whispers, "I was calling you Papa Hulk here for a while. The day before, you kept me up all night. I told one of the boys you would beat him up if he didn't stop pulling my pants down. Then yesterday, the bullying got worse, and I told the kids you would bring a flame thrower today. I didn't think you would help me or carry it on your back as you walked me into school."
Noah chuckles and whispers, "Your Grandpa Burt dared me to bring it, and you know I cannot pass up a dare. I will be back at lunchtime to pick you up today." Then Noah kisses her cheek before handing her to a daycare worker. Before he leaves, he sees a little boy in a tiny Navy uniform, crying as he is getting bullied.
The daycare worker tried to intervene, but the kids did not listen. Then Noah roars and frightens the kids enough to stop them. He then takes the boy in his arms and asks, "Are you going to pick on any more kids?"
Then another daycare worker, Chloe, says, "Puck, you are welcome to stay. I know today is your day off, and we could use a guy like you here. Burt used to help a lot before you moved in with Kurt. By the way, Kurt streamed you putting Liza Marie in time out yesterday."
Chloe then takes the little boy from Noah and says, "This is my grandson, Mark Spleen; he is staying with me while his parents are overseas."
Then she whispers, "Thank you for your help."
Noah looks at Mark as he says, "Chloe, do not thank me yet. Wait until nap time before you do that. I was going to look for a part-time job today, but if you need me here, I guess I am not going anywhere. I promise I will not take it easy on any of them—not even Liza Marie. My name is Noah, but my sister is the one who called me Nono first. Plus, don't worry about these flame throwers; there's nothing in them."
An hour later, Chloe tried to get the kids to sit down for circle time but never found her whistle. Soon, Noah shouted, "Hey!" before the kids immediately sat down. Soon, Noah reads The Lion King to the kids, making them laugh as he tries to change his voice for each character.
At nap time, Noah had his guitar, and Jan streamed him singing, "Angels Among Us" by Alabama as the kids sing the chorus.
(Puck)
I was walking home from school on a cold winter day
Took a shortcut through the woods and I lost my way
It was getting late and I was scared and alone
But then a kind old man took my hand, and led me home
Now mama couldn't see him, oh but he was standing there
And I knew in my heart he was the answer to my prayers
(Puck and kids)
Oh, I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love
(Puck)
When life held troubled times and had me down on my knees
There's always been someone to come along and comfort me
A kind word from a stranger to lend a helping hand
A phone call from a friend just to say I understand
But ain't it kind of funny at the dark end of the road
That someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope
(Puck and kids)
Oh, I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love
(Puck)
They wear so many faces show up in the strangest places
To grace us with their mercy in our time of need
(Puck and kids)
Oh I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love
To guide us with the light of love
Then he picks up Liza Marie and says, "You are my little angel."
After they got home, Tracy told Kurt that Noah had gotten a job at the daycare. Kurt smiles and says, "Chloe has been needing help with those kids for a long time. She has asked me a few times, but with them being like my bullies. I said no."
Noah wraps his arms around Kurt as he says, "Babe? Did you forget I was your bully?" Then he tickles Kurt before picking him up and carrying him to their bedroom. Fifteen minutes later, Noah runs out in his sweats, holding a silk shirt in his hand as Kurt chases him around the room.
Kurt then shouts, "Noah, come on! Give me my shirt!"
Noah holds the shirt in the air as he says, "Say you'll marry me first."
Kurt looks at Liza Marie, who pouts at him and says, "Yes, Noah Elijah Puckerman, I'll marry you. Now, give me my shirt!" Noah teases Kurt a little longer before kissing him as he hands him his shirt.
When Noah returns to their bedroom, he comes back then slips the ring on Kurt's finger. Liza Marie squeals with delight as Noah gets his phone and posts on Facebook, "It's official! Quinn Fabray, you better clear your calendar and tell Kurt you forgive him. Rachel St. James and Cooper Anderson informed me about you stalking me after you broke up with Cooper. So, I know you will see this. I know you still love me, but I am with Kurt now. I didn't fall in love with Kurt until the day I came out. Get over yourself because I want you to be a surrogate for us."
Then Judy Fabray commented on the post, saying, "Puck, she's at Blaine's grave yelling at it. She has been going to Blaine's or Elizabeth's grave since you came out. Quinn cut off all contact with Rachel shortly after you came out. I tried to get her to talk to Kurt or you for a while, but she wouldn't listen. You should know that Quinn can't have any more kids and has MS. I'm sorry, Puck."
Cooper comments, "I'm sorry, Puck. Quinn told me about her MS the day you came out. The fight she had with Rachel was about her MS diagnosis. It was about Quinn dying, Puck."
Soon there was a knock on the door, and Kurt went to answer it. He soon saw Quinn with a turban on her head as she held onto a walker as Judy and Russell stood behind her. Quinn tried to speak, but it was hard to understand her. Then Liza Marie said, "Queenie, it's okay. We forgive you."
Then Quinn looks at Kurt and asks, "How did your mom die, Kurt?"
As Noah helps Quinn to the couch, Kurt says, "She had cancer, Quinn. I don't know what kind, though. I only know that she got sick when I was seven, and after she died. It took dad a year before he didn't cry himself to sleep every night."
Then Noah asks, "Is this the real reason you broke up with me, Quinn?"
Quinn nods her head and says, "Tana and Liza knew. I'm sorry, Kurt." She soon breaks down, and Liza Marie takes her hand before she sings Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Judy Garland.
(Liza Marie)
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then, oh, why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh, why can't I?
Chapter 3 will be up soon.
