I had a lot of trouble making friends as a kid but as an adult, I am great at it! That is something I want to focus on for Him. Sorry for the delay, I had really bad writers block for so long but I am getting better.
In a way it was nice to not have any friends, it made it easier for Rooku to not pay attention to the jeers with Iruka, after his spiel on patriotism, turned to Rooku and said. " And you will be going to the hospital to begin your training as a medic."
Rooku nodded, and marched away, ignoring everyone as he hurried to the hospital. The only person that didn't give him a superior look was Sasuke, Shino and Shikamaru... which was kind of nice to be honest. He may not be their friends but that didn't mean he didn't have some respect for those three, even only slightly. Shino was smart and quiet, Shikamaru wasn't a bully and Sasuke was alright. None of them have ever made Rooku feel inferior or worthless... and he appreciated that deeply, dearly and without reserve.
After his twenty or so minutes, Rooku got to the hospital and marched happily to the front desk. "I am here for my training."
The lady at the desk smiled. "Mei is looking forward to this. So few actually bother to become medics. Go down that hall and take your second door to the left. That is where classes are being held. Enjoy."
"I plan too." And so he hurried down to room, sliding the door open where he saw a handful of people all sitting in the various desks. There were six of them and they looked bored. "Hi." He said, hoping for some kind of happiness or positive response.
One kid stood. " Hello there, you're the new kid, right?"
"Yessir." The kid was older than him, maybe fifteen. They were all older than him actually, he was the youngest by at least three years. "Name's Rooku."
"Tenya." The kid said. "You're a bit young to be starting out as a medic, but that's not bad. Too many get their skills to late to be of much use. It takes serious time and commitment to really get the understanding and chakra control to be a medic. You'll do just fine."
A rush of relief rushed through Rooku. "Thanks, that makes me feel better."
"It should... Anyway, since you're here, we were told to introduce you to the basics since Mei is busy with emergency surgery. There are simply not enough medics to handle all of the various surgeries in the Hospital so delegation is key even for training. I am in charge, since I have the most experience. Let's start at the beginning. There are seven ranks for medical training. You are at a level one, meaning you clean bed pans and move patients etc... or you will after your first three months of training where you are introduced to the basics of medical care beyond first aid. Like bedside manner, emergency treatment and so on so you can join missions and act as an aid here.
Level two is just an advanced aid, you can take blood pressures and give meds and insulin and that like, Then there is level three, which is a nurse and full on field medic, which allows you to do more advanced things like help with lesser surgeries, treat wounds and the like. Level Four and Five is advanced care and where most people stop. Level Seven is Lady Tsunade and no one has been there since her. It allows you total control over all medical things, basically a doctor and nurse and field medic mix. You are being trained as all three, we all are but mostly as a nurse and field medic since you are a ninja.
Level Five and up is separated by gaining a specialty. I am a level three and working on my specialty which is going to be poisons. Figure out your path as you start o work under various forms of care.
Now, since you are a beginner you work on Medsurge, so you can dip your toes into various kinds of care from surgeries to burns to childbirth and more. Then you move on... but first basic training. We are all here to help you so you can not only work as a medic, getting C and D rank missions, but also move onto your more advanced training. It takes at least a year before you can act as an independent field medic and go on missions for serious support.
Oh last thing, after your three months of basic training is over you can choose between either three twelve hour work days where half is spent on training or you can work on five day stretches of eight hours. I think that's it..."
Smiling, Rooku soaked that all in. " Three twelves, I am a still a ninja so I need more time to dedicate to my martial studies."
"Perfect, I'll write that down. Anyway, you are going to be sticking with me mostly, today is just so we can all monitor you and familiarize you with all of us so you know who to go to if you need help, more training or whatever. Never feel afraid to ask, most all of us are full on medics not ninja. Technically this is our day of, we are just coming in to help you."
"Awesome... so where do we start?"
"Well, we are going to work on your chakra control for at least an hour, get you familiar with the basics then we will move onto anatomy and basic care like making beds, turning patients and learning the chain of command in the hospital and in the field. It takes about three months to really familiarize yourself with everything and get familiar... your training will last eight hours a days and at least three hours will be spent on chakra control and taijutsu. Our style is all about evasion, you'll need to work ont that for field work since defensive and protecting yourself and your patient is most vital."
Nodding, Rooku moved to Tenya. "Let's get started then."
Tenya nodded and they began.
Any plans to study beyond medical would end that day as Rooku would have to crawl back home, finally challenged but utterly beat from the outright struggle that was medical training...
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was fun. This story is amazing and it will be fun to write.
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
