And so, Brooklyn ended up staying with Elaine for over a month. It wasn't just to protect her from the gang members, that didn't show their faces there again for quite some time. Brooklyn also had to take it easy in the way of that he still had plenty of dizziness and nausea attacks too. He often kept his food down but there were moments of throwing up too. He tried to keep that to himself. It was often after Elaine went to bed that it happened. He also still took long naps at night too.

But Brooklyn also helped her out on the weekends too with household chores. He was glad to be of service. He had grown quite comfortable around Elaine. He was also glad for the free meals too.

She liked having him around. He gave her someone to come home and talk to. He told her about his adventures and she told him about her childhood and her family. He was more at home with her than he had been with Melina.

The bank still kept a guard on duty until it was time to leave for the day. This was for the best, but Brooklyn still went and saw the end of the shift safely. He made sure to stay out of sight. Yeah, he did want to stay safe.

Elaine had gone to see her family for Thanksgiving in Nebraska. He had gone with her but stayed out of sight. She had also made sure to give him plenty of food from the feast.

Brooklyn still wondered how his clan was doing too, but he had never felt more at home with anyone before. He wondered if being with Elaine was meant to be.

One night, during one of his naps, Brooklyn had a very strange dream.

He dreamt of something that was like as if he was watching some kind of alien movie, with a baby alien coming out of its mother's stomach, only it was happening to him.

"Agh!" Brooklyn awoke in a sweat. He was lying on the couch. He was breathing heavy in a panic. What was that about? He then had a look at his stomach. It was flat and it was normal. He put a hand on it. He really hoped that there wasn't something inside his stomach that shouldn't be there.

….

There had been one man that had gotten away that night when Brook and Elaine met. He had gone back to the head boss and told them what he saw.

The head boss of the gang was a really strict man. He and his gang of leftover thirteen men went after Elaine again. It had been over a month. They had wanted things to settle down first on the media. It had been reported. He wanted that creature too if it had Elaine's attention. No one got his members arrested and got away with it.

The men were watching the bank well after dark in a dark green van.

Elaine was being escorted to her car by the guard when the gang ran out of the van with guns blazing. There was gunfire and the guard was shot. Elaine had tried to get out of the line of fire. Her car had been fired upon and two tires were flat. She wasn't going anywhere.

"Get her!"

The men grabbed Elaine. They put a note on her car. She tried to fight them and everything, but it was no use. She was pulled into the van. That was where her nightmare began.

"Brooklyn!" Elaine cried out desperately for help.

"Aw! She's calling to the creature for help. Isn't that sweet? Not! Now you are going to be bait for that creature, Sweetheart." The boss man sneered. "And you get to entertain us while we wait for him."

"Let me go, you monster!" Elaine yelled desperately.

The men held her down and proceeded this time to get what they wanted last time. A piece of tape was put over her mouth as her clothes were ripped up and torn off and the boss man got to have the worst 'fun' with her first as the men drove the van back to their hideout. She screamed as she was violated and tears flowed. What did these men want with her and no one else of her coworkers?

….

Brooklyn arrived at the bank and he saw the scene before him. What happened here? Where was Elaine? He ran up to the building. "Elaine?" He called but there was no answer.

He then saw her car and it had been damaged by gunshots. He went over when he saw the piece of flying paper in the wind. He read the note about it being a ransom to meet them at a certain place, a warehouse in down by some docks. That's where his precious girl would be.

Brooklyn growled at that and his eyes glowed in anger. They wouldn't get away with this. He would meet them no matter what. He would get Elaine back. But first, he went and used a phone to call for help for the shot guard, but he had to get out of here. He might have been seen on the cameras again, but he hadn't done anything. He went to go get Elaine back.

Police and an ambulance arrived soon after for the fallen guard.

….

At the hideout, Elaine was tied to a bed so some men could continue having their fun with her for a while. She was scared out of her wits and traumatized now.

The boss came in again. "I suppose you're wondering why we took you, my dear. Am I right?" he declared.

Elaine glared at him. There was nothing on her right at this moment. She felt so exposed.

"You obviously kept that monster with you. It must feel deeply attached to you. Well, it would be quite a prize to dissect and find out what it is while we keep and have fun with you, my dear." The snob exclaimed. "I'm sure he's going to come after you. Then we'll have him. He put six of my men behind bars. I won't let him forget it and he's going to pay. But then, has the creature had fun sex with you like we had tonight?"

This guy was SICK! Brooklyn had never touched her like that, EVER! He was more a gentleman than this guy would ever be.

He then walked out.

Elaine was sad and scared. She hoped Brooklyn would get her out of here. She felt the cold air on her skin. She wanted the blankets over her, but the men wanted her like this.

….

Brooklyn soon arrived at where the men said to meet them. He looked around every warehouse that he could and he soon found the men.

"Where's Elaine?" Brooklyn stepped into the light demanding where she was.

"So, our long overdue guest is here. You have to get through us to get to her, Freak!" One of the men exclaimed.

"That can be arranged." Brooklyn snarled. "You are all a bunch of sickos to do this to her! What do you want with her?!"

"We only want to have fun with her and to get you for what you did to our men." Another man stated.

"Yo, Boss! He's here!"

The boss man stepped out of his office. "I see that. Ah! Our guest of honor, the freak of nature." he sneered.

"Where's Elaine?" Brooklyn demanded more forcefully.

"You can join her after you surrender. You can get to watch as we do her." The boss man proclaimed.

These men really were psychos. Brook wasn't going to surrender and he wasn't going to let them harm her. His eyes glowed in anger and adrenaline. He couldn't take it anymore and he attacked the man. He roared his attack.

The boss man didn't see it coming in time and yelled in shock as the gargoyle jumped in the air and landed on him, getting punched in the face so hard it knocked him out on impact.

The rest of the men attacked him and he easily took them out. There was one that drew his gun and he fired on Brooklyn. It got him in the left wing, in the flap. Brook cried out in pain but it didn't stop him. He was too energized with adrenaline to stop attacking Elaine's tormentors.

All the men were unconscious or dead when he was through with them. He had created horrific wounds and bruises on them for what they had done.

He panted hard and his eyes returned to normal shortly after. Then he went looking for Elaine. "Elaine!" he called out.

In the room, the girl was hearing a male voice. It sounded familiar. "Elaine!" It was Brooklyn! He had come for her! But he was too late in that the men had harmed her.

Elaine began screaming for him to help her.

Brooklyn didn't hear his name being called, but he heard muffled screaming. That had to be her. He followed his ears to the room. The door was locked, but he easily kicked it down and he found Elaine, bruised and bloody and in tattered rags on the bed.

Brook's eyes widened at seeing her like this. Any man might have wanted to take her like that, being bound, gagged, and helpless. But Brooklyn knew better. He would never do such a thing. He went up to her.

"Elaine, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm going to get you free," he said and gently untied her wrists from the bed, then her ankles. Elaine was sobbing her eyes out.

She then took the tape off her mouth. "I thought you weren't coming!" she sobbed. He took her into his arms to try to comfort her. She instantly shivered from all the bad touching earlier. But this was her friend.

"I wouldn't miss it. I would come no matter what. I took care of the men. They won't hurt you again." Brooklyn declared. She leaned into him deeply for comfort. "Elaine, I need to get you to a hospital."

Elaine nodded. She let him pick her up in his arms, but he also got a blanket for her and wrapped it around her first. Then he took her to the nearest hospital. "I wish I could go in with you, but you know I can't." He said as he set her down.

Elaine stumbled into the hospital doors, where paramedics and nurses greeted her with a wheelchair. Brooklyn had hidden but had watched what happened. Elaine then fainted from the shock and pain she was in. She was rushed to the ER.

Brooklyn felt so bad for her. This never should have happened. She was such a sweet woman and those evil maniacs had taken that innocence away from her. Should he take her back to New York with him? Though that was up to her. He wouldn't force her.

He didn't know what else to do. There was nothing else he could do here. He sadly went back to her house for the night. He went into her bedroom and sniffed her scent in the pillows and bed. Tears gathered in his eyes for her. He couldn't help that he started crying. She wasn't dead but he was worried for her. She still could have died. He hoped she would return to her home.

Brooklyn spent that night in her bedroom, even ignoring his hunger. This was the most he had cared for a human at least since Dave and Bobbi. But they hadn't gotten this hurt at that time.

He hadn't thought about his feelings for Elaine, but now that this had happened, it did make him think that he actually did love her.

…..

At the hospital, Elaine was looked over and her injuries treated. She really hoped she didn't end up pregnant with any of those demon spawn men's baby. She would want an abortion no matter what. She wouldn't want to carry their baby to term, or she would give it up for adoption.

The doctor told her that she would need to take time off of work to recover from this incident. Her mind would be troubled and her injuries needed to heal. It would be best if she wasn't alone at home.

"I'm not alone at home." Elaine said.

"Good. It's best to have someone with you at this time. Even if you keep them at a distance." She instructed.

Elaine nodded.

She stayed in the hospital overnight and she was returned to her house in the morning. She also had to once again, talk to police and where to find the culprits. She had left out the part of Brooklyn bringing her there. They had found it astounding that she would have been able to walk there since she hadn't been able to hardly stand when coming in.

Her story would be heard on the news later.

When she came to her bedroom, she saw Brooklyn on her bed, solid stone. He had a sad look on his face. It was obvious he was sad for her. She just wanted to go to bed. She didn't mind him being there.

Later, at sunset, Brooklyn awoke from his stone sleep. It woke Elaine up too. She had slept all day till now. There was a mess on the bed but it could be cleaned up.

Elaine was in shock. Brooklyn forgot where he was. He got up quickly. "Oh, Elaine, I'm sorry. I hoped you would be alright." He declared. "Sorry for waking you."

"What were you doing in here?" she demanded.

"I felt bad for what happened last night. I wish I had gotten there sooner." Brook replied.

"Were you watching tv or something?" She was getting angry.

"No. It was the sunset and just trying to get there on time. They got you before I could get there." Brook tried to explain that it wasn't his fault.

"Please leave my room." She demanded. Brook understood. He did as he was told.

That night was not an easy one for the two of them. Brooklyn offered to make her some soup or something. Elaine didn't want to eat. She just wanted to stay in her room. Brooklyn knew that she was going to be depressed and angry at the world for what happened to her.
