Trigger Warning / Implied Sexual Assault.
I want to put this here because I know it can be heartbreaking and trigger some when anything of this sort is implied or detailed. There is NO DETAIL whatsoever of any assault. Only implications and theories. I will never say if it is actually assault of any form unless it's a main character in the story and at that point, I will do this TW again but changed depending on the trigger or topic.
Thank you for reading!
Mai's POV
It was 3 am, and I couldn't sleep. The vision of the massacre and then the vision of one of my futures was keeping me awake. I grabbed a book from the bookshelf and made some tea, sitting in the kitchen with the small light on overhead. I decided to let Naru sleep… surprisingly he was way more tired than I was…
I wanted to see if I could try to ask future Naru or Gene how long in the future that vision was…but Gene wouldn't tell me, and I couldn't get back into that vision… I sipped my tea and sighed quietly, setting my book down, laying my head against the wall and staring into nothingness.

Sitting at the table, I saw the sun rising.
'Oh great…not again…' I thought to myself. I sighed; I'm getting tired of these visions coming back to back. I could tell it wasn't a future vision. This was a past vision… The sun was shining in through the window as it set slowly. The sky a very pretty shade of orange... I stood up and walked around, trying to find out why I was here…
The layout was a little different but not by much. I walked onto the patio and saw a small child sitting on a swinging bench while playing with her toys. My eyes softened and I walked past her into the yard, towards a small well that isn't there in my time. That's when I saw it…
The child wasn't on the porch anymore, she was in the well…My eyes saddened and heart broke, there was blood on the brick where I assumed she hit her head…I wanted to help her, but I knew at this point she was dead. I saw my reflection in the water she was floating in, and I wasn't me, but who I assume was her mother.
She was crying and screaming. "Marie!" The name kept echoing in my head. I pulled myself from the mother and walked the field behind the well. I looked for anything that could've shown me how she fell into the well. I found a shoe that matched the one she was wearing in the well. I kept walking the field… Then I saw it.
A very small patch on grass that had been crushed…it laid flat as the rest of the field was standing up and blowing in the wind. My eyes narrowed as I looked up, immediately seeing a dark figure disappear into the woods.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I thought about telling Naru and that's what I did, was tell him my dream. Then we did some research on the house and found out that it had been a case that took place over 30 years ago.
"It says here that Marie Ryner, 8 years old, had been found in a well made of stone, dead when authorities arrived. The well was closed off and later filled in." He read, "says it was accidental." I shook my head.
"It couldn't have been…I saw a figure in the field…" I said, in which he nodded.
"I believe you, I do, but you shouldn't look into it right now. You have enough going on." He said and I sighed. "Besides, if we don't start experiencing things other than your dreams, it could end up being nothing, Mai." He said. I looked at.
"It's definitely something, Naru." I said defensively. "I wouldn't have had that dream if not."
He stayed quite for a bit, "Alright…Alright, but we don't touch it until the others get here. At least you don't. Ok." He demanded more than asked. I sighed and nodded. "I will look into it. We'll try to work on it after they get here." He said and rubbed my back.
"I'm tired, Noll…" I said, saying his real nickname.
"I know…We'll get everything back to normal soon…" He said,
"I hope so…" I said. He pet my head and kissed my cheek.

Naru had asked me what I thought that man could've done to Marie. So now that's what I'm thinking about. I have no idea…It didn't look like assault…But you can never tell without a report or seeing the body directly, which I had no desire to see…
"Mai." I snapped out of my trance as Naru walked in, "Any ideas?"
"Um…I don't think it was assault…Maybe an attempted kidnapping gone wrong?..." I offered up my other idea. "Blood was on the stone…a patch of the field was flattened so she could've been laying in it when he grabbed her, struggled and ran…He got a hold of her and while struggling she could've hit her head or he could've dropped her..?"
He thought for a minute, "Well there isn't anyway of knowing if he did do more…too much time has passed…" He muttered then nodded. "That's our best assumptions of what happened." I nodded.
"Wow Mai, you've had visions for 2 different cases in 1 week..." I heard Ayako say from the door. She looked surprised as all get out and walked over to check me, Monk not far behind, "Are you feeling ok?..." She asked. I nodded.
"Just tired…" I said and smiled. "I'll be ok" I reassured and made the tea for all of them.
Now that the team is here, we can get the second case figured out and solved, my training finished and finally…finally go home… I looked at Naru, just wanting to curl up in his arms and forget everything. He looked at me and his eyes softened, but he shook his head. Of course, whether the others knew or not, we were in a work environment…
I sighed quietly and sipped my tea after passing the others theirs.
