Naru's P.O.V

John had called to update Takigawa and Matsusaki. Surprisingly, and gratefully, they didn't hop on yet another plane to come back here. Though John did stay at the hospital with me and Lin while i looked for Mai, using her ribbon. The cops came, and went, almost daily as the search continued, each day i gave them new clues of places to look. And each day i felt more and more anxious. Time passed like nothing and i couldnt do anything…I promised her I'd find her…I need to get out of this hospital to do that.

Mai's P.O.V

How long had i been locked up here?.. My hair was stringy and greasy from not being washed and i felt gross. I wanted to go home… Naru said he was coming for me…why wake me if it was going to take so long…Well he did say he was in the hospital…Is he having to do this the long way?.. I had cried all my tears out and i was tired. I just…wanted Naru…

"Mai…" I heard my name being echoed in the room. The voice soft and kind. I looked up. "Mai…I'm going to help you out of here…The police are looking with Narus help but you're underground…We need to get you above ground so they can find you…" The voice said. It wasn't Gene…or my father or mother…and I knew Riku's voice…

"Sairu..?" I asked quietly, standing.

"That's right…I'm going to help you…" She said, "I can't manifest myself, so you'll need to follow my instructions…" I nodded and looked towards the door, "They're asleep, or busy…I made sure…"

Walking to the door i peeked out of the food slot and nodded. "Ok…what do you want me to do?.." I asked her.

"Come to the corner across from where you were sitting," She said, "there should be a loose brick in the wall…" I walked over and followed her instructions. I felt around the wall for awhile until my finger felt something move.

"Found it"

"Good, now you'll need to push it out…do you feel the breeze?" I nodded and pushed the brick out, my hand slipping through and i could feel the cold air but it was still dark.

"What now?.." I asked quietly.

"Now you're going to concentrate. You need to use that opening and break the wall open to the other side. There's a tunnel you need to follow…" She said. I had learned this while at the mansion.

"Close my eyes and breath, holding my hand out to the target. Breathe…in…out…in…out…

push my energy out in a force and-" A loud explosion sounded as the wall crumbled, the ground shaking.

"Too much! Run!" She screamed. I looked back at the door before taking off down the hall. My feet were hitting the ground hard. Adrenaline was pumping and i kept looking behind me. Larny was on my tail but he was too far back to catch up. I was running faster than i had before. "Keep running! Don't stop! Take a right!"

I followed her instructions as she led me out of the tunnels and into the snow. I still ran even further, tears were falling and i couldn't stop them.

"Naru…Naru, please hear me!" I screamed in my head. Begging and hoping to whatever god there is to help me reach him.

Naru's P.O.V

"Naru, please hear me!" I shot up in bed. Mai's voice had called to me. John passed out and Lin jolted awake as my heart monitor flatline. I yanked the IVs from my arm and the monitors off my chest.

"Naru, what're you doing?!" He screamed, John moving slightly and waking up.

"She called me." I slipped on my house shoes and ran out of the room. Lin and John followed, the nurses looking and watching confused. "Lin, call the detective, i know where Mai is!" I yelled over my shoulder and went to the car. There's a tracking device they can follow and i know where the spare key is so he can't stop m- Bloody hell…

"You really think i'd leave the spare, knowing how you are?" He asked, panting. I gripped the wheel and glared at him.

"Give me. The key." I said darkly. "Have the detective follow the GPS tracker, but i need to go to her. Now." He hesitated.

"I'll call the detective…Go with him…" I heard John say behind him, already calling. I heard Lin sigh and get into the passenger's seat, giving me the key. I didn't bother waiting for John to call, i just took off down the highway. Two towns away.

"Naru." Lin said.

"I'm not slowing down, don't you fucking suggest that." I snapped. I could see his eye go wide as he looked at me. "I…sorry. I just…" I tried to apologize, my hands starting to shake.

"Don't be, i know you're upset…" He said and gripped my shoulder. I was still holding her ribbon…I could see essentially a trail leading me right to her.

We ended up on a deserted road in the middle of the woods. Pulling over to the side i got out of the car. Closing my eyes as i gripped the ribbon tightly.

"Naru!" I heard her voice again, she was running in the snow. Barefoot, and her clothes tattered. She was sobbing… I ran into the woods, Lin close behind me.

"MAI!" I yelled, hoping i was close enough to her.

"Mai!" Lin started yelling to try and help.

"Over here" A different voice…Her sister maybe? "Right on the nose. She's over here." She said. I followed her voice before coming to a stop, panting heavily. In the snow…passed out and slightly covered…

"Mai…" I walked over and knelt, brushing the snow off her hair and pulling her limp body to me to try and warm her up.

"Naru…we need to get her back to the car…" Lin said. I nodded and let him pick her up. I was still too weak to carry her. We heard sirens and yelling.

Then a gunshot.

I spun around and saw Larny chasing us. A groan sounded from Lin and i looked at him.

"Lin..? Did that hit you?.." I asked. He nodded.

"A graze, but painful none the less…come on. Keep moving…" He said. My eyes darkened as i got ready to use the sword… "Naru. Don't." I lifted my arms, the wind picking up around me as i brought it down quickly.

Dogs barking and people yelling as they got closer, That's all i heard as i panted. Lin, still holding Mai, tried to keep me from falling over. I breathed out.

"Oliver Davis?" The detective asked as he rushed over.

"That man…" I said, pointing to Larny, "arrest him…He kidnapped her." Venom was dripping from my voice as i put my monotone mask back over my emotions.

"Lin." Turning, I went back to the car.

Lin's P.O.V

This kid…i swear he's going to be the end of me. I laid Mai on the stretcher as the Paramedics came over.

"Naru. Ride with her. I'll take the car back.

"Yea…" He said and climbed into the back with the medic. I watched as the cops brought Larny up to the road in cuffs. My arms crossed.

The fight was only half way done…We only had NoriYuki left to handle now…
