The red male kept on struggling in the bonds. He had to escape before they came to take him away again. He wasn't going back!
Among Anton's crew, there was a woman in there too. She was going to be part of the crew that loaded the pregnant male. Her looks were hidden under her armor, being a soldier in disguise.
Later, when it came time to get ready to load Brooklyn up, the lady came up to him.
"What do you want?" Brook growled.
"Brooklyn, it's me, Melina." She whispered.
"Melina?"
"Stay quiet. I'm going to get you out of here," she said. Melina began to fiddle with one of his leather bonds and left it loose enough for him to pull out of it on his right hand. "Here, this is the best I can do for you. Make your escape look real."
"Oh, I plan to." Brooklyn declared.
When it was time to take Brooklyn out to a traveling van to the airport, Brooklyn had been struggling to get his bond off. Melina was up at his head. "Make it as real as possible," she whispered to him.
He finally got his hand out of the bond and then, he punched Melina in the face, knocking her out. The other person shouted, "Prisoner is trying to get loose!"
Brooklyn managed to reach down and punch him out too. Then he broke the other bonds on his limbs. He had to get out of here. He hurriedly got off the gurney. An alarm was going off. Brooklyn held his stomach as he ran to support it. He soon ran into an office and he saw a window. He hoped he could get out.
He made a running charge, tucked his wings close, covered his face, and he broke out the window. He was lucky his skin was thicker than a human's. Brook opened up his wings and they caught the air. He flapped his wings to get higher into the air.
The humans came running to check on their prisoner. They saw the table was empty and the transporters knocked out. "Find Brooklyn! Don't let him escape!" Ray ordered.
Other guards went looking for the red gargoyle. Thailog was looking too. He would be so happy to put the red male in his place, pregnant or not. It wasn't long before everyone found the broken window in that office.
Thailog was the only one with wings to go out the window to try to locate his prey.
Ray was angry. That red gargoyle was not going to get away again! This time, he would have him under sedation until he got him to Nevada.
Brooklyn had gotten far enough away from Gen-U-Tech that he finally came to a landing on a building. He had to catch his breath. He panted hard.
"Man, son. I thought we'd never get out of there." Brooklyn told his son. He felt the baby move inside his stomach. He rubbed it.
But his victory was short-lived. "You aren't going anywhere, Brooklyn."
Brooklyn looked up and heard Goliath's voice, but it was Thailog. "NO! Stay away from me!"
The black clone came down and landed. "You really are more trouble than you are worth."
"Ray has no right to take me away from my home and clan again, Thailog! I'm not going back to him!" Brooklyn snarled. He made sure to keep his distance from his leader's clone.
"Oh, but that baby is his to do with what he wants." Thailog proclaimed.
"No it's not! It's mine! And he will not be raising my child to be his experiment all its life." The red one declared.
"Oh, but I am going to return you to him whether you like it or not." Thailog smirked.
Brooklyn kept backing up. He was about to take off on all fours. He saw an exit to the left side of himself. Thailog kept advancing on him.
Brooklyn finally broke loose and he tried to run away from the clone. Thailog gave chase too.
The red male ran over a few buildings but was getting tired fast from the weight that he carried in his belly. He was getting to the last one on the block and about to hit the air when Thailog caught up to him. He took to the air and jumped the pregnant male.
"AUGH!" Brooklyn cried out in shock. He was grabbed up by his hair. Brooklyn grabbed at it. Then his right wing was grabbed, then his throat. Thailog landed and had him. Brook tried to get him to let go of his throat.
"You are mine now." Thailog warned him. "I could always arrange for something to happen to this, inside you." He threatened the baby's life. He touched on Brooklyn's belly. Brook grunted and tried to get free, but Thailog's grasp was too much.
"Please… let go…" Brook pleaded, gasping for breath.
"Only when you are unconscious." Thailog growled at him. His grip on Brook's throat tightened. He began to fight more and coughed.
Then, there was whoosh of wings. There was a bang on Thailog's head, making him cry out and let go of the red male. Brooklyn fell to the building's rooftop, gasping for air. There was another landing beside him.
"You alright, Brooklyn?" A female voice asked.
Brooklyn caught his breath enough to recognize that voice. It was Demona! "What… you want?" he demanded.
"I saw what was going on and came down to stop Thailog from trying to harm you." Demona replied.
Thailog got up and went to face against his ex-mate. Brook was so winded that he stayed down but moved away.
"You will not get your hands on Brooklyn." Demona declared to Thailog.
"I have been paid highly to get him for my current employer." The clone replied. "He is such a prize for what he carries inside him. The future of gargoyles!"
"This has nothing to do with that! That man just wants me and my baby for evil experiments, that's all!" Brooklyn yelled at him. "The same thing that Sevarius and Xanatos originally created you for!"
"And I thought you hated Brooklyn, Demona." Thailog mocked them both.
"We've come to an understanding." Demona said, blocking the red male from her ex-mate.
Brooklyn still had a distrust for her, but if she was willing to stand up for him now, he knew he needed all the help he could get. His clan wasn't here to defend him.
Thailog didn't give up on trying to get Brooklyn back though and Demona gave it her all to defend the pregnant male. Brooklyn fought back with what he could, but he wasn't in the best condition to fight at all.
But soon, Broadway and Hudson came along and joined the fight. Demona was trying to hold Thailog off at the moment while Brooklyn was against the wall, panting hard and holding his belly.
"Brooklyn! Are ye alright, lad?" Hudson asked, concerned.
"I… I don't… know." Brook replied. He winced. His stomach hurt.
"Did they try to hurt you?" Broadway asked.
"Thailog… trying to take me back to Ray." Brook gasped. "Demona… protecting me."
That shocked the two of them. "I'll take the lad back with me." Hudson said.
"I'll help Demona." Broadway declared. He never thought he would hear himself say that again.
Brooklyn was lucky he felt he could glide anymore after what he had gone through, but he left with Hudson while Broadway and Demona kept Thailog at bay.
Hudson got Brooklyn home safely and Hudson called Goliath and the others back to the castle. Broadway came home too. He had some scratches on his left shoulder but other than that he was fine.
Angela ran forward and hugged her mate when she saw him injured. Then she went over to Brooklyn. "Are you alright?" she asked in concern.
"I'm alright, but Ray saw the baby." Brooklyn stated sadly.
"I had never thought that I was going to be helping Demona fight Thailog." Broadway said. "She said after Thailog flew off like a coward to watch over you, Brooklyn. To keep the little one from harm."
"I try. Right now, everyone wants me. I can keep my son safe while he's inside me. It's when he's born when I can't watch him every second." Brooklyn said. Then he winced.
"What's wrong, Brooklyn?" Goliath asked.
"Just some pains." Brooklyn replied.
"Dr. Sato should have a look at you after the stress you have gone through to make sure the baby is alright." Goliath insisted.
Brook nodded in agreement. He was sent to the medic ward and Xanatos was told to call the doctor.
Sato came along when he could after three hours. He had been in surgery before being called away.
Brooklyn had managed to fall asleep in the recovery room while waiting. He was awoken by Hudson and he was taken to the exam room where Sato ran an ultrasound on his belly to make sure the baby was alright.
The baby was seen on screen to be moving about like he usually did. It was amazing to the red father to be that his son was still alright after such a stressful event. He hoped Ray wouldn't get him back anytime soon.
The clan were just all grateful that Demona had helped protect their Second in Command and that he was alright after the stress he had gone through. They were in awe at seeing the fetus on screen. His heart was fine. Nothing seemed to be injured.
After Sato was done with Brooklyn, he had a look at Broadway's arm. The marks were just scratches and would be fine. No stitches were needed, but they were disinfected and bandaged anyway.
Brooklyn was given some anti-nausea medicine to keep his stomach stable. It seemed to calm his belly pain down.
"Just take it easy for a while, Brooklyn. At this stage, you can't be fighting." Sato proclaimed.
"I know, but it wasn't like I had much of a choice. Thailog was trying to force me back to my kidnapper. I won't go back to Nevada with him, ever!" Brooklyn snarled.
"This guy should be found and arrested for trying to force you back into his custody again." Sato said.
"He only wants my son to study for his experiments." Brooklyn said angrily. "And he said he might even have me make more for him too."
"That's crazy!" Lex exclaimed.
"I know. He says he's trying to help our numbers, but I doubt that. I just want him to leave me alone."
"We can understand that Lad." Hudson agreed.
"Perhaps we might have to discuss moving you to a different location until after the baby has been born." Goliath brought up.
"Ray will then be able to get him from anywhere." Brooklyn declared in a worried tone.
"You both could go to Avalon." Angela suggested. "That would be the safest place for you to go."
Goliath thought about it. It might be the best thing for him until it was time for the pregnancy to end, but he still needed prenatal care.
But Brooklyn was reluctant to go Avalon. It would be one thing to take his son there after he was born, but it was another thing while he still carried him. He would be uncomfortable being around different gargoyles that he didn't know and the magical beings that inhabited the island now. He would be bored and such on Avalon. He really didn't want to be around any magical beings right now, especially Oberon. He didn't want to be mocked or locked in a room trying to avoid them all.
"Goliath, I don't feel like I would be comfortable in Avalon right now. Not like this. Sure, I wouldn't mind meeting Angela's sisters in hopes of finding a mate, but not while I'm pregnant." Brooklyn explained.
"Well, you would need to stay inside for the rest of your pregnancy." Sato said. "Unless you know of someplace safe you could go."
"There's Elisa's place." Broadway suggested.
"Thailog could always find her place. Ray could look it up too. Maybe Xanatos might have something." Lex declared.
"We know he has that Xanadu place up north." Goliath said.
"It might be the next best place to go then, for your own good, Brooklyn." Sato encouraged.
They would have to talk to David and Fox and see if that was alright. The clan hated the idea of Brooklyn having to leave again, but what choice did he have? It was for his and his baby's sakes to live. Until the decision was made, Brooklyn would just have to stay inside as much as possible. He wouldn't be able to sleep out on the battlements anymore until further notice.
