Chapter 4: Forest Bump.

Last time on Total Drama, the challenge was 'cold', the Toxic Rats 'stayed frosty', and we had a special appearance from Moth. Though they won the first challenge, the Toxic Rats were still sent to elimination, and super jock Lightning took the fall after Dawn sabotaged her team!

Tonight, the challenge is all about FEAR! And whats better than a nighttime challenge on TOTAL DRAMA REBOOT OF THE ISLAND!

(Opening Scene)

Mike ran through his subconscious, his pace steady. Banging on the walls, his hands sore.

"You can't escape." Evil laughter echoed through his head and Mal appeared from behind.

"Why? Why are you doing this? I destroyed you! And the others."

"Yes. Yes you did. And as such, they will never again take control of your body. Ever again. But I will. And I can. Times ticking..."

An air horn jarred Mike and the others from their sleep.

"I'm starting to hate that man." Cora sighed glumly.

"Join the club." Zoey groaned.

Confessional

Dawn: I need another victim. Someone good at the game. Strong. Easily manipulatable. But who?

End Confessional.

"Good morning, campers! Or actually, good middle of the night! Time for a challenge!"

"A challenge? Right now? In the...dark?" Brick trembled.

Confessional

Dawn: Bingo!

Brick: ...I hate the dark...

End Confessional

"Yes, that was made obvious, Brick. Heres how tonight'll go. You've gotta locate 3 souvenirs from the forest, an old cemetery, and a spooky cave!

"After you find the items, you gotta make it back to camp. First team back wins, and, oh, watch out for a giant spider! You'll get a penalty for each player lost! Good luck...is what I'd say if I cared!"

The teams ran into the forest, the Rats taking the lead. A loudspeaker attached to a tree welcomed them.

"Welcome to the Forest of DOOM! Up ahead, you'll find your first souvenir!"

"Too easy!"

As the team ran, no one noticed a web grab Dakota and lift her off.

"Too much running! Dakota...gonna need game...Dakota?!?"

"What? Did we lose her?" Scott asked.

Cora gulped. "And there's a giant spider crawling about right?"

B adopted a look of fear, as Dawn shrugged nonchalantly, coming up on a tree with a knot. B and Sam climbed it...to reveal a gigantic one-eyed squid. The squid grabbed Sam and starting beating him up. B punched it in the eye, and it spat out a key. Poor B was yanked up by a web, as Sam got to his feet.

"What happened? Wheres B? B? B!!!"

He's gone!" Cora gasped.

"So's that squid, and we got the key!" Dawn grabbed it.

"But we've already lost two players!"

"They're probably fine. Let's go!" Dawn led the team away.

The Maggots stopped in front of the tree, just missing the Rats.

"We need to send in our most expendable player!" Padme glared at Cameron.

"HEY! No ones expendable!" Brick defended Cameron.

"We don't have time to argue." Hank intervened. "Throw me!"

Padme threw Hank like a javelin and Hank retrieved a key, throwing it down to the team, just as a web shot down and grabbed him.

"Hank?" Zoey trembled. "What happened?"

"...AND we stop searching and get moving." Padme kept walking.

"You don't have to be so controlling." Jo growled.

"Oh, the hypocrisy." Mike rolled his eyes.

"WHAT WAS THAT?!?"

"...Nothing."

"That goes against my code! Never leave a man behind!" Brick glared. "I thought he was your friend!"

"He IS my friend, but if we just sit here, we're doomed to lose!"

"No. I won't leave a man behind!" Brick stood firm.

"Then I'll leave you."

Padme ran off, followed by Jo. Mike, Zoey, and Cameron stared at Brick for a second before joining them. Brick gulped as he ran the same way the web had taken Hank. An owl hooted from a nearby tree and the cadet screamed, bumping right into Hank, webs and dirt in his hair.

"Hank? You're alive!"

"Brick? Where are the others?"

"I refused to leave you behind. I follow my own code."

"Woah, that's...nice. Thanks!"

The Rats and the other Maggots had arrived at the spooky cemetery. They split up, looking for anything.

"Hey, this grave smells like burgers!" Sam chuckled.

"Sam! Focus!" Scott pushed him a little too hard, right into the grave.

"Hey!"

"Ugh, no wonder he-"

"Scott? SCOTT!" Sam climbed out of the pit. But he was gone and Sam was left to suffer from a bear, and both fell into the pit again.

"Hey guys! I got something!" Mike and Zoey read a piece of paper with the numbers 9,9,20,7.

"Weird. Could be a date of some kind." Cameron suggested.

Meanwhile, Brick and Hank were lost.

"So Brick...I need to tell you something. And the only reason I'm telling ypu this is that...I trust you."

"Yeah? What is it?"

"...I'm in love with you."

"Wait...you're gay too?"

Both teens stared at each other.

"Hey, can I ask you something now?"

"Yeah?"

"Whats up with Padme and Cora?

Hank let out a low whistle. "Oh God. That, my friend, is a long story...It really all started on her and Blais's first date..."

Flashback: Hank.

Hank peered at Blais and Cora from the alleyway. The two sat on a park bench, staring into the sunset.

"What're they saying?" Chuck whispered to him.

"I'm not a lip reader." Hank retorted.

"Move over! I took a class on lip reading!"

Hank gave Moth the binoculars and they watched.

"I don't trust her. Cora, I mean. We hardly even know anything about her." Padme voiced her doubt.

"You're just being paranoid." Hank playfully punched her in the shoulder.

"Ok, they're talking about...school...classes...all that stuff...Blais just said 'I've loved you since the day we met, and I was an idiot...' Cora's saying they were both idiots...um..."

"WOULD YOU CLOWNS STOP SPYING ON US!?!"

"Blais just said-"

"Yeah, we heard."

"Any mail today, Chuck?"

"Yeah. An invitation. To a party!"

End Flashback: Hank.

"What happened next? Hank?"

Brick turned around, but Hank was nowhere to be seen. A web shot from a bush and grabbed the helpless army cadet.

"No! NO!"

Chris watched from a room with cameras. He let out a chuckle.

"Oh, man! Never go off alone! And you should never go away from the TV! We'll be right back with some more TOTAL DRAMA REBOOT OF THE ISLAND!"

(Commercial)

"Find the souvenir, hide the souvenir, blame losing on someone." Dawn laughed as she examined a grave. Fang popped his head out, but upon realizing it was Dawn, he growled. A web from a tree aimed for Dawn missed, as the mutant shark was grabbed instead.

"Heh. Idiot."

A second web shot out abruptly and grabbed Dawn, dragging her away.

Cora and Sam came across a gravestone of a man with a robot arm in place of his left hand.

"Oh, look! September 9th, 2007!" Cora pointed

"9…9…20…7! We found it!" Sam cheered.

"Wonder who he is." Cora shrugged and opened the grace with the key.

"WAIT! Might be a trap." Sam stopped her and fled into a bush, where Team Maggot stumbled upon the grave.

"This is the one."

Jo opened it and a spring booby trap pushed her away.

"Woah! That could've been me!" Padme chuckled as she grabbed a flashlight.

"Move it or lose it!"

Jo stood up dizzily and almost immediately was grabbed by a web.

"Ok, we should approach with caution." Cora murmured to Sam.

"Good thing I've achieved maximum stealth in Robber Simulator on my Nintendo Swatch!"

"You play Robber Simulator?"

"You do, too?"

"I used to. Back in another time."

Suddenly, Scott fell at their feet.

"Scott? What happened?"

"None of your beeswax!" He approached the grave of the man with the robot arm.

"Oh, watch out for the grave. It'll-"

"Zip it, new girl." He screamed as the spring launched him.

"Tried to warn you, bro."

At the entrance to the cave, a scared Cameron and an irritated Padme waited for Mike and Zoey.

"Maybe they got caught?" Cameron squeaked.

"Get a hold of yourself, Brainiac." Padme spat and entered the cave. Cameron gulped and went the other direction, calling for Mike and Zoey.

"Such an idiot." Padme turned her flashlight on and found a piece of paper in a web.

"By hook or by crook, everywhere you must look? Seriously, who wrote these-agh!"

A web bound and tied her, covering her eyes.

"HEY! HEY! How DARE you! NOO!"

Padme was flung into a giant web with all the other captured contestants.

"GUYS! GUYS!"

Cameron finally found Mike and Zoey.

"Me and Padme found the cave, but we gotta hurry!"

"Cam."

"Team Rat'll beat us if we don't-"

"CAM!"

"What?"

Mike gulped. "Mal…he's alive."

"WHAT?"

The Friendship Trio ran for the entrance to the cave.

"Uh-oh. Padme's flashlight! This can't be good."

Cameron picked it up and the spider jumped out from behind them, webbing him and flung him into the giant web.

"Who landed in the web now? Gamer boy? Dirt farmer? …Cora? Come on!"

"It's just me. Brainiac."

"Huh. You lasted for a quite a while. I'm impressed."

The contestants suddenly heard a scream, as Scott was thrown into the web.

"Those little runts fed me to a giant spider!!!"

Sam and Cora were webbed together, as Mike and Zoey grabbed a hook hanging from a skull.

Mike stopped for a minute.

"We can't just leave them!"

The two attempted to climb the walls.

"No! You two need to win! Somebody has to!"

"Uh, Padme?"

"What, Hank?"

"SPIDER!"

"Oh, fu-"

Brick broke free of the web, and dropped to the ground.

"Hey!"

The spider glanced at the cadet.

"Nobody does that to my friends."

The spider lunged at Brick, but Mike held it's jaws from biting Brick.

"Hurry! I can't hold him for long!"

"No way! I am not leaving you!"

"Cut and run, soldier! That's an order!" Padme yelled from the web.

"Sir, yes sir!"

Brick grabbed a hook and zipped down a zip line, followed close behind by the webbed Sam and Cora into total darkness. He screamed as he exited through a hole in the cave, as Sam and Cora came out seconds after.

"Why do I smell piss?"

"I, uh, I don't smell anything!" Brick quickly responded.

"We have a winner! The Toxic Rats!" Chris announced.

"WHAT? No way! I arrived first!"

"Remember that penalty I mentioned? Yeah, you seem to have lost your WHOLE team! Sam and Cora only lost 4 members! So the Rats totally win!"

"No! I should've followed my own code!" Brick sobbed.

"So true." Chris laughed.

Elimination.

"Hey, come on. Don't be so sad. You gave it your all, and you failed. Miserably. Haha!

Marshmallows go to...Mike, Zoey, Cameron, Jo, Padme, and...

"Sir, permission to speak?" Brick stood up.

"Permission granted."

"I volunteer for elimination. I do not deserve to stay, I didn't follow my own code!"

Hank gasped softly.

"Well, that is touching. BUT I have a surprise! Tonight's Maggot loser is tomorrow's new Rat!"

"I'm not taking the Submarine of Shame?"

"Nope! I'm transferring you to Team Rat! Which means you and your boyfriend will fight it out on opposing teams!"

Epilogue.

The Maggots stared at Hank, wordless.

"What?"

"You're gay?" Cameron asked.

You gotta problem with that, string bean?" Padme glared at him.

"No! Not at all! In fact, I'm going to bed."

Cameron left, Mike and Zoey at his tail.

"We need to talk." Jo told Padme and Hank. "We need to stick together, and cote off one of them. They have the numbers."

"And we," Hank chuckled, "have this."

And he pulled the Chef Head out of his pocket.

"And if you even THINK about betraying us, you'll be the next person to go home."

The three went to bed.

Chris smirked. "That's all for now! Tune in next time to see how this'll turn out on...TOTAL DRAMA REBOOT OF THE ISLAND!
