Note: The only retcon is that Sidney and Mark got married and had their baby in 2011 instead of 2010. I remember when Scream 4 came out and reading an article that stated that it was set in 2010. Scream 5 changed that to 2011, so that's pretty much it for retcons. Please read the end notes!
Sidney awoke to the lovely feeling of Mark's warm solid body pressed against her back. His soft lips showered sensual kisses on her neck. A faint moan came from the federal agent when she turned her head to eagerly seize his mouth with her lips. Reaching back, she gripped his head letting her fingers get lost in his thick dark velvety locks. She couldn't imagine a better way to start the day.
His hand rested on her small round belly as he kissed her back with just as much love and need. Her fingernails lightly raked across his scalp sending a chill down his spine and caused his hips to twitch against her backside.
With their full-time jobs, a household to maintain, a semi-active social life, a 2-year-old child and another one due in a few months; they treasured these rare spontaneous moments of intimacy. For a minute, they weren't employees or parents, they were simply a husband and wife fulfilling each other's emotional and physical needs.
She reluctantly pulled away from her doting husband to get some air but continued stroking his dark wavy hair, focusing on the few grey streaks. With a content curl of her lips, she greeted him, "Good Morning, Special Agent Kincaid."
"And good morning to you, Mrs. Kincaid." He took Sidney's hand off his head to kiss her fingertips, palm and wrist.
Being together for over a decade didn't change how good his kisses always made her feel. "Mmm, it looks like you're in the mood to make it a great morning."
A smirk spread across his handsome face, "Always, but once we really get started Angie will-…"
Right on cue, an energetic knock came from their bedroom door followed by the jiggling of the locked door knob. "Mommy, Daddy, open!"
They both laughed; he headed for the door, "Hold on, Angie, Daddy's coming!"
Little Evangeline "Angie" Kincaid jumped into her father's arms and kissed his cheek. An adorable giggle came from the toddler when he pecked her forehead and carried her to the bed.
Sidney happily hummed the instant her daughter kissed her cheek; she immediately reciprocated. She and Mark smiled when Angie kissed her mom's belly wishing her sister a good morning.
Angie said with a wide smile and held her mother's face, "Mommy, pancakes please!"
She asked with a hint of arrogance in her voice and face, "Still don't like Daddy's?"
With a disgusted look, Angie shook her head, "So yucky!"
He crossed his arms and feigned annoyance, "Young lady, I burnt them once and it was only because I got a phone call!"
"Still yucky!" She nodded at him earning a small sigh from her father.
Sidney scoffed as she sat up. Her hand briefly stroked Angie's black thick wavy locks. She swung her legs over the side of the bed, "All right, let's go make you some pancakes, Sweetie!"
Angie cheerfully clapped before her father picked her up and held her with one arm. His free hand clasped Sidney's helping her stand up, "Fine, but I'm handling the hash browns and sausage."
Giggling, she took her phone off the nightstand, "I'm cool with that; you've never made them 'yucky' before." She planted a kiss on his cheek before they walked out.
Koa and Poppy immediately left their beds in the living room to greet the trio once they stepped off the stars. The chihuahua and yellow Labrador retriever mix was nine-months-old but proved to be a good addition to the family, especially after Cherokee's passing. Her puppy energy balanced Koa's mellow middle-age demeanor. Angie was the only one to hug both dogs whereas her parents simply pet their heads. Angie then grasped her parents' hands and led them into the kitchen.
Using a turner spatula, Mark transferred the sausage links to Sidney's plate and opened the toaster oven to take out the hash browns. He glanced at the table and grinned.
A blueberry had rolled off Angie's plate landing on her high chair's tray. The toddler was unaware as she fed herself pancakes and scrambled eggs with a fork. She was also distracted by her favorite cartoon playing on the kitchen's television. Sidney picked up the dark sweet berry and fed it to her happy child.
With their full plates in his hands, he padded over to them and set down their meals, "Breakfast is served!"
"Thanks, Babe, it looks delicious!" She flashed him a smile and picked up her fork and knife.
"You're welcome, but first!" He opened a nearby drawer, removed a light blue envelope and handed it to her.
The cute curve of his mouth intrigued her as she opened the envelope. After she read the slip of paper warmth came to her heart. She cupped his faced and adoringly pressed her mouth to his. "Mark, this is perfect!"
He sat down next to her, "Really? You don't think it's too soon or trendy?"
"No to both, we need this!" She grasped his hand and teased him, "Your thoughtfulness is one of the few reasons why I've kept you around for this long."
Her playfulness caused him to chuckle, "Aw, after all these years you still know how to make me feel so special." He leaned forward covering her lips with a sweet kiss.
Note: I'm so happy that Mark and Sidney are canon now! There are plenty of us shippers/fans out there but not a lot of stories centered on them. One way to change this is to write post fics about them but that takes a lot of time and energy. Another way is to encourage the writers that do post their works. Guests can do this by leaving reviews, and it doesn't even have to be a word, you can simply post a typed out emoji like this :) but you can't do the heart emoji because this site doesn't allow use of the carrot/arrow character.
Members, you can also post reviews! If your email is with Hotmail/Outlook you will not be getting email notifications/alerts from this site! It's been broken for over a month now and I have no idea if the staffers here plan to fix it! So, if you want to subscribe/follow to receive new chapters but your email is with Hotmail/Outlook you'll either have to come to this site regularly or change the email that you have with your fanfiction account. You can also add this story to your favorites, you just click on the heart/favorite button. I'm also posting this story on archiveofourown and their email notifications/alerts are working just fine. But you need an account on there and there's a wait list to join. It's about a week long wait. We need to support each other!
