"Mmm…" Allowing a groggy groan to escape his lips, Relon's vermilion eyes flutter open.
Meeting the familiar ceiling of his, his head shifts to the side taking in the sight of Akeno sleeping peacefully. Parting a strand to the side, a smile graces his features. Giving a brisk kiss, a small murmur comes from the resting girl. Carefully leaving the bed, his eyes go to the floor where their clothes lay scattered.
Memories from their night soon flood back as his eyes linger on the naked women before they drift to himself butt ass naked. The scent of aftersex always left him in an odd place. On one hand, he could just sleep with the lingering scent he's become accustomed to or he could take that shower he had yet to do and rid himself of said scent.
Take a shower… or sleep with Akeno…?
His lips purse.
Be productive… or be lazy…?
He looks between the door and his girlfriend.
Tend to the girls and those errands… or rest and recuperate…?
He honestly couldn't decide. When it came to decisions, he'd usually ask Akeno but that option wasn't available at the moment. Curse him and his indecisiveness. One of his worst traits as a person.
He seriously owed a lot to Akeno for putting up with just how bad that trait of his is. He was just glad their missions they've done hadn't had an opportunity for such a thing to occur yet at least.
Rounding up their clothes, he places them neatly on the nearby desk.
I guess I could check on the others. Yeah, that sounds good. If they're awake, the day begins. If not, more cuddling and sleep.
Putting on a shirt and shorts, he makes his way down the hall stopping before stopping at the next pair of doors. Lightly knocking, he enters to the sight of Asia sound asleep. Nodding, he backtracks doing the same to see Koneko out like a light.
Yep. More rest is needed. He smiles closing the door.
The moment he does, his hand freezes still gripping the doorknob. Narrowing, his eyes look down the hall where the stairs lie. Any inkling of sleep is vanished in an instant as he walks to stop at the top. Down below situated at the bottom, a pair of women his and Akeno's age. Eyes locking onto one in particular, an annoyed grumble sounds from him. Leaning against his room with an audible thud, he crosses his arms.
"Care to explain why you have the nerve to barge into my house again, Ms. Gremory? Hey Sona." He gives a more cheerful smile before dropping it as he once again meets the other woman's gaze.
The one in question as well as the cause behind his attitude's shift walks forward. Godly figure, crimson red hair and eyes, and an air of equal annoyance clearly evident, standing before him is none other than Rias Gremory. Next to her, the way more easy to speak and do business with, Sona Sitri. Short kept hair in a bob cut, violet eyes, and the wondrous traits of wearing glasses.
"Good morning, Relon." Sona sighs. "Apologies for having to tend to this manner so early."
"Meh, it happens once, it happens a thousand times. You get used to it." He dismisses leaning off the door. "What's up?"
"We both know why Sona and I are here so can we drop the niceties, Mr. Lucinance?" Rias sighs as well.
"Hey, you're the one calling me by my last name when you clearly know I don't like that." He deadpans to vanish, reappearing in front of the two. "So again What's. Up?"
Taking a moment to calm herself, Rias begins.
"Last night. Care to explain?"
"Nothing really to explain." He shrugs with hands in his pockets. "Beat you guys to the location. Again. And did you all another favor. Again."
"The 'favor' is well appreciated." Sona says with clear fatigue in her voice.
"But care to explain the damn bloody massacre you left behind?" Rias demands, hands placed firmly on her hips.
"We've had bloodier days, you know." He arches a brow.
"THAT'S NOT THE POINT AND-"
"Rias." He growls causing the young woman to halt mid-sentence. "It's too damn early to start raising cain. Watch it." He growls for his visage to lighten back to neutrality.
Allowing his words to register, her own scowl lessens. Looking between the two, Sona can only sigh in dismay.
Why me?
"My… apologies." She gives a curt nod before continuing. "What I'm saying, like our previous talks, is that there was no need to eliminate so many sources."
"I beg to differ. No others seemed like their status was any higher than the host himself. With that in mind, that made our job much easier in securing said villain. Speaking of, I'm hoping he outed his boss to you all as well?"
"Riser Phenex." Sona answers which Relon nods in agreement. "Although he confessed…"
"Lemme guess; there's no legitimate proof that this guy is the actual leader." Relon breathes a heavy breath for Rias to solemnly nod.
"We're still looking into the matter but unless we can find concrete proof of Riser's actions, then he's untouchable."
"What of all the free slaves?"
"He was careful with his work." Sona answers. "His name was never mentioned during their time locked up. Only referred to by his subordinates with titles such as 'Boss' and so on."
"Goddamn it!" He growls, turning and beginning his climb back up the stairs.
"And where do you think-"
"Gremory." He hisses peering back out the corner of his eye. "Fucking. Don't." WIth that he continues on. "Going to do what I do best. Gather intel."
All the while, Sona taking notice of the emotions swirling on her friend's demeanor.
"Stop!"
Oh, this was not about to end well.
Pausing at the absurd order, like a machine having seen better days, his jittery body turns to fully face the devil. Realizing her action, Rias stands her ground putting on a serious face of her own.
"Huh?" He murmurs out, eyes wide and trained on the devil.
Vanishing in a blur he appears right before the redhead as she remains locked on him.
"Did you just give me an order…?" He questions, neither daring to so much as blink from the tension in the air. "In my house?"
"I did." She glares back, a dark-red aura slowly fixating itself around her.
"You must have a screw loose or something. Because that simply makes no damn sense."
"How else will you listen when I talk?" She adds, hands outstretched to the sides as magic envelopes them.
"Enough, both of you!"
"STAY OUT OF THIS!" Both growl in unison.
"Ugh, it's too early for this." She facepalms to glance up the staircase for her body to freeze up.
At the same time as their words die down, so too do they feel the now fourth presence. Rias; eyes widen slightly as Relon's anger reels back on instinct.
"Ara ara... Now I believe there was already one warning of the noise, no?"
Standing at the top, hand crackling in electricity, stands a smiling Akeno. Murder and anything possibly worse written clear on her face for all to see. Peering her violet eyes open ever so slightly, they land on the two.
"The others are still sleeping."
"Aken-" Cutting himself off, Relon facepalms as Rias remains still, her new confrontation between the devil-fallen-angel hybrid seeming more intense than with the male just a moment ago. "Damn it."
"What others?" She narrows as Sona too shares in her curiosity albeit with a much lighter expression.
Watching an aura of yellow slowly seep from Akeno, Relon doesn't even bother getting mad at yet another absurd demand. For Akeno does it for him.
"It seems Relon was right about that intellect of yours." The electricity surges in greater intensity as Rias' own aura flares even brighter. "Just because your status among the Four Great Houses is recognized in the Underworld, that does not mean it matters here. I believe we have both stated this more than once. Ignoring myself is one thing but ignoring my dear Relon is another crime entirely. The punishment for such is obvious, wouldn't you say?"
"Pray tell, what punishment do you happen to have in mind? I'd love to hear it." Rias' own aura flaring to equal proportions.
Inching back to stand beside Sona, a bead of sweat rolling down her face, he grimaces at the pressure exuding from both.
Yandere Akeno is one thing I don't want any part of. Nor a pissy Rias.
"Can't you control her?" Sona mutters.
"You can't control Rias, can you? What makes you think I can control Akeno?!"
"Because she's your girlfriend!"
Momentarily groaning from the factual response, he steps forwards. Vanishing to reappear on the middle of the staircase, hands raise towards both women.
"Enough! As much as I'd love to see this catfight, we can't forget about our alliance." He reminds looking between the two. "If you two really wanna go at it, either take it outside or down to the training room. Got it?"
In response, Akeno's yellow aura fades instantly though her ominous gaze remains. Soon Rias follows as well, neither daring to look away from the other. Feeling the air shift, both he and Sona allow a sigh to escape.
"Rias, as your only voice of reason, I'm going to recommend you chill on the outbursts." Sona reprimands, adjusting her glasses. "Should you act foolishly against these two, that'll bring trouble not just to your family but many more in the Underworld."
"Hmpf."
"And there it is." He groans fully turning to face her. "Where the hell does that arrogance stem from? We all know you had a wondrous upbringing unlike us but even I know you're not spoiled to the core."
"Arrogance? Who said-"
"You literally waltzed into our home. Again mind you. Then, proceeded to question me. In my home on top of that." He sends a harsh glare as each sentence comes out punctually with clear emphasis.
"You seem to forget who governs this city." She crosses her arms.
"Not doing as good a job if we're always beating you to the crime scene." Akeno rolls her eyes descending the staircase to stop next to Relon. "Seems like you're doing quite a terrible job at that." She adds with an indifferent shrug.
Relon could feel Akeno inching away at Rias' resteeled nerves. Seriously, he knew she wanted to go another round with the redhead considering their last bout was interrupted by him but there was a time and place for that. Not past the crack of dawn much less in his house!
Fighting back the urge to retort, Sona replies in her friend's place.
"It's true that your intel network is better than ours thus allowing you to reach such locations in greater haste than ourselves but do remember the point of the Alliance. You both assist the Gremory House during times of crises and in return, your protection is guaranteed by the remaining 32 houses."
Relon had to seriously thank either God, luck, or both for having encountered his Big Sis. The sheer power she has both physically and politically made all in the Underworld both fear and respect her. It came as a surprise back then when the alliance first emerged but looking back, there was little anyone could honestly do. They could have attempted a coup right then and there or something else, but none wanted to lose their life against someone as powerful as her.
"I think we've done a good job of that. We stop a lot of the major stuff on our own so you guys don't have to do much." Relon voices.
"But last night is a different story." Rias quickly notes having adjusted herself. "Back to the issue behind our little spat, if you will, who is sleeping? I seriously wouldn't think you would take back some who were once enslaved." She eyes the boy who jerks back offended by the accusation.
"First of all; ouch." He pauses. "I'm pretty sure only you would think that lowly of me but whatever." He sighs visibly gripping Akeno's wrist as static sparks from her growing anger. "Secondly; we did bring back two in particular but they came of their own volition."
"Where are they?"
"Resting obviously." Relon deadpans to suddenly grimace glancing behind towards the peak of the stairs. "Well, they were until a pair of women decided to let some killing intent out." He sighs, neither . "It's safe to come out, girls." He calmly calls.
For a moment, the four onlookers see nothing. After a moment, possibly of hesitation, a blonde and white head peeks out respectively.
"Morning." Relon offers a friendly smile in an attempt to break the tension. "Sorry if we woke you two up."
"N-No! I-It's fine, really!" Asia is the first to dismiss the ensuing chaos while Nameless responds with an indifferent shrug. "Just… surprised us more than anything." She resorts to a mumble, likely from the eyes on her.
Giving a smile of reassurance, something he's become skilled at doing, his eyes return to the analytic eyes that belong to Rias.
"If I may be so bold-"
"Oh, now you choose to have courtesy." Relon cuts in with an eye roll for Rias to give a glare of annoyance.
"Of what descendance do you two hail from?" She continues on.
"You mean what we identify as?" Nameless bluntly wonders for the heiress to blink.
"She's very straightforward." Relon notes aloud for Akeno and Asia to chuckle.
Quickly conforming, Rias nods. Looking to Relon and Akeno for confirmation, both give a nod of their own. Closing her eyes for a second, her cat ears and tail manifests. Like a feline, she arches her back releasing the tension from her muscles.
"Nekotama." She answers in her usual manner while scratching her ear.
Expectantly, both Rias and Sona widen their eyes in disbelief. It's not everyday they randomly meet one of the rarest, nearly extinct, cat species. Judging by their aloof expressions, it's reasonable to assume why their stupors carries over to Asia. Said girl seeming to tense slightly from the focus now on her.
"I-I'm n-nothing special, really!" She blurts while waving her hands in dismissal. "I'm a normal human who can heal is all."
Retaining a now skeptical look, both women eventually return to the protective duo of Relon and Akeno.
"What do you plan to do about them?" Rias inquires with crossed arms.
"Question after question. No respect whatsoever." He sighs once again. "They joined of their own accord knowing what Akeno and I do so that should tell you basically everything."
"Registration for school, medical examinations… shopping for clothes." Sona adds eyeing their attires.
"All of which I've already planned out to do. Something that we were going to do later after we were well rested."
"Through your informant, I presume. The one who's always helped you two out."
"The very same."
For a moment, it looks as though Rias is about to release another question but she doesn't. Easing herself, the subtle gestures visible to all but the youngest two, a smile graces her features.
"I see. We're done here, Sona." Looking to her for a moment, the bespectacled teen nods in affirmation.
"Very well."
"Awe, I was looking forward to another game of 20 Questions."
"Another time perhaps. Your priorities are those two." She points to said girls. "Make sure to take care of them. We'll be seeing you all around." Turning, the duo heads for the front door.
"Rias." Relon calls for both to stop. "How goes the peerage search?" Hearing this, Sona's own gaze shifts to Rias.
Turning her head to face him, her expression remains steady.
"It goes." With that, both give a curt bow before leaving.
"Where does she get off informing us of what we already are aware of?" Akeno pucks her cheek in mild annoyance as Relon finally releases his grip. His hand tingles with parts of his fingers slightly numb.
"What was that about?" Nameless asks nearing them alongside Asia.
"She probably saw a family in us." He waves off descending to the first floor. "She's one fo the few who are aware of Akeno and my own backstory so she probably got sentimental or something."
"Oh." Asia blinks to ask her own question. "Who were those two?"
"The redhead was Rias Gremory and her bespectacled friend was Sona Sitri. Both of whom hail from two of the 32 clans. Gremory and Sitri respectively." Akeno answers for Asia to widen. "It just so happens that Kuoh is within the jurisdiction of the Gremory Clan. Specifically under Rias' care."
"In other words, political-wise, both are high up there."
"I'm surprised they don't mind us being here." Nameless comments.
"We're in an alliance so the two of us, now four, are protected by all 32 houses." Relon calls out from the kitchen as the three follow after.
"How'd that happen?"
"Our teacher is an individual of high status." Akeno smiles.
"You don't say…"
"Dope."
"So considering we all were rudely awoken, we can either do one of two things. Go back to sleep and get more rest considering we've gotten roughly three to four hours of sleep." Relon sounds digging in the bottom of their freezer. "Or have breakfast." At his suggestion, he holds up two boxes.
The eyes of their feline housemate gleam in delight.
"Second option!" She answers milliseconds after his question.
"Teehee. We're already up so we may as well."
"Then it's decided." Akeno smiles.
"Cool. Now, for my second question." He grins. "Waffles or pancakes?"
RedBurningDragon: Unless the Master or Relon are devils with pieces Akeno would have no devil wings unless she's reincarnated
True. That's why Akeno's heritage and other girls are slightly different hence the "Slight AU." It and others will be touched upon at a given point.
