A/N: Well, here is another chapter. After this one is only 2 more left. The final chapter, which is almost 9,000 words, and an epilogue that is shorter. since I don't have any comment to reply to here, let's move with the chapter.

Chapter 5: David's New Empire

(24 hours later)

David was serving himself a cup of wine in his throne room. He prefers to drink fresh blood, but that will come soon enough. Now that David has the young hunter girl in custody, he can continue with his plan. Losing too many men was not part of that plan, but if it gets him close to his new vampire empire he is willing to make some sacrifices. David always wants to build his own empire. An Empire for which vampires can walk free at night and feed from whatever they want. He was tired of hiding, why do they always have to hide when they're better and stronger than humans?

But his dream was getting closer, soon he will control the town of Jackson and after that, he will start his conquest of the world. His ancestors almost did that in the past, but always were stopped by people who did not want that to happen. After hundreds of years, those men start to call themself Hunters. They hunt vampires to almost their extinction, but that will end tonight. He knows that controlling Jackson will take a little time, but with the hunters out of the way he can take all the time he needs. But before all that happens, he will need more loyal people that not only have to be new vampires but humans too.

"So you are going to tell me why all my men ended up dead?" he asked as soon he turned around and walked away from the table where he had his wines.

Marcus looked at him a little nervously. "Well, as you requested, we attracted that old man and the girl to the cemetery where Mortis was waiting for them with his men.

"And what happened there?" said David while walking toward his chair.

"I'm not sure sir… I wasn't there when they arrived. I have to keep my cover in the precinct and have to get there later. My guess is that the old man and girl fought Mortis's men and killed them all. When I finally arrived at the place it was all a mess and the detective girl was already on top of Mortis with a knife in her hand. I tried to do something to stop her… but I was too late. The girl stabs Mortis in the heart and kills him before I can do something."

Soon David arrived at his chair, he turned around and sat on it. "I see. Mortis was always my most loyal soldier… He was not only my second in command, he was with me for a long time." David took a sip of his drink of wine before speaking again. "Is too sad that he has to die before my plan is completed…" said David while looking at the man. "What happened to the boy? I didn't see him back either."

"Who?" answer Marcus clueless.

"Tomas… the young man I sent with Mortis to help him?"

"Sorry… sir, I don't know who he was… but I think that he got killed too. I only saw Mortis get killed by the girl when I arrived there and I saw a few of his men dead too in the cavern. But I didn't see any boys there. As I said, the place was a mess, I also think that they used explosives too, because part of the cavern was blown up…"

David looked into the man's eyes, not satisfied with the man's simple explanation and story. He can feel that the man in front of him was lying about something in his story but doesn't know the wish part. He looks at him and takes another sip of his drink before speaking again. "Well, that was too bad… that boy has some potential. Even if he didn't have much time here, he was a loyal soldier and he could serve me well. Losing Mortis on this was a great loss too, but all my vampires know that we have to make some sacrifices to get what we want in this world… don't you think?"

"I guess we all do… sir…" he said while walking forward and now he was standing in front of David. "Mortis and his men died to make our plan work… but at least they don't die in vain. Because I was able to bring the girl hunter alive back to you… and that was what you wanted… right?"

David continued looking at the man's face trying to get what was on his mind. "Yes… you brought the girl to me… and that was the main plan." he took another sip of his wine before looking at the detective again.."Before we pass to the other thing we need to discuss, I need to know one other thing…What happened to the old hunter?"

"If you mean the old man that was helping her, I guess he died too… I didn't see his body, but Ellie told me that he was under the rocks that fall down when Mortis's men blew up part of the cavern. So I don't think anybody can serve that."

"I hope you're right… because I don't want him coming here and trying to rescue the girl. But just to be sure, I will send a few men there to get proof of his death." David finishes his drink and put the cup on the table beside his chair before standing up. Then he started walking toward the man. "I guess that you did your job well, detective," he said before standing in front of the man. "I guess that you will like your reward now."

"I'm only here to serve you… sir."

"Good answer… but I like to reward the people that are loyal to me… and as you did bring me the girl alive… I guess you deserve that."

"Thank you… sir. I'm happy to serve you… I know that you have big plans for this town and for this country… I just want to be part of it. As I asked before, I just want to be part of the winning side. Be part of your vampire clan and fight at your side to make that happen."

David walks around the man and stops behind him. "Oh… yes I have good plans for this small town and I think you will be a good help with that." David put his hand on the man's shoulder before speaking again. "But, before I give you what you want… I need you to help me with something."

"What is it… sir?"

"As I said before… loyalty is something important to build an empire… but a man's ambition… is something that can stab you in the back in the long run… and you, my friend, are very ambitious." David got a good hard grip on the man's shoulder before opening his mouth and sinking his fangs into the man's neck.

"Arrrggg!" Marcus screamed as soon he felt David bite. "... what… is this?" he said while feeling the blood suck it out of him. The man tries to move away from him, but David gives him a good grab.

After a few minutes, David moved his mouth out of his neck and let go of the man, who quickly fell to his knees on the floor with his hand on his neck to stop the blood. "Do you really think that I believe all the things you said?" said David while moving in front of him.

Marcus raises his head and looks at him. "I don't know… what you mean… I did tell you… the… true… sir… and I did my… job… I'll bring you the… girl."

"Not all of it… and yes you bring me the girl, but I can't trust ambitious men like you… they always betray you at the end… and I really sure that you let Mortis die, that is if you don't kill him yourself." David turns around and walks toward his chair. He grabs his phone from the small table and makes a call. "Send a few men to my throne room… and tell the boys that I will send them a little snack.'' Soon after he finished the call, David put the phone back on the table and turned around to look at the man kneeling on the floor. "Did you really think that I will turn into men like you? That if you kill Mortis I will give you his post?"

"You can't do this to…me. We have a deal… I help… you… with the… police… I bring you the girl…" said Marcus with some difficulty.

"Yes you did all that… but as you said before I will take over this town soon enough, and you can be replaced." At that moment two soldiers enter the room. "Take… this pathetic human to the basement… there he can get what he deserves."

The two men walk toward Marcus and grab him by the arms. "Noooo! I can still… help you… Don't do this… to me." the man yell as he was getting dragged from the room. "We have a deal… I suppose to be a… vampire… be part of your clan…" he continues while draging closer to the door.

"Oh… don't worry… detective. You will serve me well… my vampires need to be fed… and you're perfect for the job."

"NOOOOOO!" the man yells before he gets taken out of the room.

But that chance is gone now.

( In another part of David's mansion )

Ellie opened her eyes and didn't know where she was right now, all she saw was darkness, and felt pain all over her body and she does not even remember why. The fight between the vampire and his soldier in the cavern didn't go so bad, except for almost falling into the abyss the soldiers barely touched her. So why does her body feel like 20 men beat the hell out of her? She can also taste some blood in her mouth. After a few minutes, Ellie starts to remember what else happened there. Joel! I can believe he is dead. Ellie remembers the rock falling down on top of him and the other vampire he was fighting with.

The old man was a pain in the ass, but somehow she was starting to like him. Ellie doesn't know why, but it was something about him that kept her curious and she really wished to have the chance to spend more time with him and find out more about him. Even if she didn't know the man that much, he looked like a great man, and even though she did not want to admit it, she was hoping to team up with him. From what she saw, Joel had some skills and experience. Those were good qualities to be a good fighter partner. Yea she has Bill, but he only helps her with the technical part. Having someone to watch her back will be a cool option. Why does the vampire have to take everything from her? First that bastard David killed her father and now Joel too. But her chance to have a partner is gone now. That is why she likes to work alone, that way she can't feel bad for losing someone she cares about.

After thinking for a few more minutes, she started to look around. As much as she can see in the dark, it looks like a dungeon room. She can't feel the floor beneath her so they must have her hanging. But she can feel the chain wrapped around her feel and wrist. So she has the feeling that the traitor Marcus has brought her to David's hideout. Yeah, she wanted to find it, but not like this. That bastard Marcus was working with him, and if she managed to escape, the first thing she would do is kill that bastard. But first, she needs to find a way to escape and find that bastard vampire David and finally kill him. He will pay for what he has done to her and all those people he killed and turn to serve him. After a few minutes she noticed that she was only wearing a shirt that barely covered her body, and she didn't feel anything under. Those bastards that do this to me are going to pay… and I hope that they don't enjoy looking at me like this… because I will make it very painful too.

While looking around, Ellie saw some light coming from under the door of the room, so maybe it was a guard outside that she can try to come inside. But what can she do with the guard? She was chained to the ceiling and the floor so she can't practically move. She knows that David has some kind of plan for her, so she needs to escape and stop any plan that he has for this town. She can't believe how deeply David moved here without anybody noticing him, especially her. After a few minutes of looking around and trying to get off of the chain by herself, Ellie hears some footsteps coming closer to the door, so she needs to think of a plan to escape. A few minutes later she hears a key being used on the door and starts to open it.

Ellie raises her head slowly and looks at the person that came in with no surprise. "I was… wondering… when you're going to… show up," said Ellie while glaring at him.

David enters the room and turns the light on before closing the door behind him. The light was low, but Ellie could see the smile on her face, before closing her eyes for a few seconds.

"I can see that you finally wake up… I was wondering if you were going to stay out all day," said David while walking toward the girl. Soon he goes close, he can see some of her bruises and the little blood on her mouth. "Sorry about… the way my men treated you last night, but you killed a lot of us and they just wanted to have some fun with you… so I don't blame them." he saw Ellie's face when she hear his last comment. "Don't worry… they don't touch you sexually I will kill the one that touches you that way… they just hit you a little to avenge their friends"

"Do… The vampire has… friends?" Ellie answers coldly.

David starts to move around her. "Charmy… but even if you don't believe it… we do. We even have lovers… and you kill Mortis… and he was a very important vampire and a good friend of mine." David stops behind her and grabs her hair, and pulls it back hard. "And I will make you pay for that."

Ellie bites her lips hard and tightened her eyes to hold the pain. The last thing she wants is to show him any weaknesses. After David let go of her hair, Ellie moved her head forward. "I really feel sorry for killing your little vampire girlfriend…" Soon she felt him walking again, and she continued. "I was being sarcastic… in case you didn't notice it." David walked until he was in front of her. David moves closer to her and tries to touch her face, but moves his hand back when Ellie moves forward and tries to bite him. "What does it matter… afraid of a girl biting you?" Ellie moves her body trying to get out of the chains, but it was in vain. "Why don't you let me down from here… and I show you… how afraid you should be of me."

David smiles again and starts to walk around her. "I have to give you some credit girl… You really have been a pain in the ass for the last five years. But in time I found out who you really was and how I can use you to my benefit… that is why I bring you here." David started to walk again until he was behind her. He moved closer and touched her hair again, making Ellie quickly move her head to shake his hand off.

"Don't… touch me… you mother fucker… whatever you're thinking of doing… I'm going to stop you… I promise you that," said Ellie with a disgusted tone.

"You should not talk to me like that… did your father not teach you manners?" he said while continuing walking. "Your father was like you… he thought that he could stop me… but he was a fool and in the end, he just met his fate."

Ellie turns her head to the side and glares at him. "Don't you ever talk about my father… you bastard. He teaches me all I need to know… before you kill him. And he taught me well how to kill bloodsuckers like you."

"I don't know why you… so-called hunters are hunting us down… the only thing we want is to bring order to this world. You, humans, were made to obey a superior bean and we should be Gods in the eyes of the humans." he stopped in front of her and looked at her face. "You really think that you humans are so special because you're the majority in this world? Vampires have existed for centuries, even millennials." He moves closer to her face and grabs her shin to steady her head so she stays looking at his eyes. "This world belongs to us and you humans are nothing but food to us."

Ellie glared at him. "If that were true… Why are humans still in control of this world? And where is your vampire kingdom?" Ellie spits on David's face before continuing. "Oh yeah… they're all dead and back to hell… because you kind of don't belong here."

David let go of her face and wiped her spit. "We're not all dead… and if you think that your father's action and yours will continue to give hope to them… you're wrong." David put his hand on his back and started to walk again. "But don't worry, you hunter's short life will end soon… and after Halloween night… things are going to change."

"You… can kill me if you want… but there are always going to be others that will fight to stop the vampires… and you or any of your kind are never going to stop that."

David turns around and looks at her. "Kill you? Who said anything about killing you?" he said with a smile on his face.

"Well… you should if you want to live… otherwise I can assure you that I will kill you as soon as I get out of this…"

David laughed at that. "Yeah… I bet you do… if you can," he said while walking back closer to her. "But the thing is that you're not in any position to do that… but don't worry my plan for you does not include killing you." David moves one arm to his back and takes out a dagger. "Do you recognize this?" he shows the dagger to her. Ellie opens her eyes wide as soon as she recognizes it. "Yessss… me too. It belongs to your father… he almost stabbed me with it… but he was too slow and careless." David starts to look at it in front of her. "The Ironic thing is… that this dagger belonged to my master before he took it from him and used it to kill him… then years later… he try to use it to kill me, but he failed and in the end, I used it to kill him." David lowers the dagger and looks Ellie in the eyes. "Now you bring it with you to use it to kill me, but the thing is girl, he couldn't stop me with it and neither will you… and in a few days, nobody can."

Ellie looks at the dagger and wonders how he got it, but Joel told her that the police confiscated all her belongings and the dagger was in her suitcase. And since Marcus was walking for him… she can guess how he has it now. "Why don't you kill me already? I prefer that… that continues to hear you talking… all you bullshiit is torturing me."

David moves closer to her with the dagger in hand. "I already told you… I don't bring you here to kill you… I told you before that I found something about you that I can use to my benefit." David moved his face closer to her and opened his mouth and breathed out on her face.

Ellie closes her eyes for a moment and shakes her head. "Shit!... why don't you use some mental… before you do that."

David stayed looking at her for a few minutes. "I like your spirit… girl. That should work for me well in the future." David moved forward again and moved his hand with the dagger and introduced it under the shirt she was wearing and with one move he cut open the front part. David moves back and looks at her now exposing body.

"You bastard!" said Ellie while moving the chains with her body.

"Relax girl… I just started." David moved around her and continued cutting the shirt in other parts.

Ellie continues moving her body trying to keep him away from her. "You… fucking bastard… I'm going to enjoy… killing you."

Soon he finishes cutting the shirt enough he grabs it and takes it off of her. He moves it to his nose and smells it. "Hmmm… you smell good… girl." he moved away from her to enjoy the view. After a few minutes, he put the dagger on a small table that was behind her and smiled.

Ellie continues shaking her body to try to break the chains. David throws the shirt to the floor and moves closer to her back. He grabs her hair again and pulls it back hard. Ellie has to bite her lips to hold the scream of pain. She is not going to give him that satisfaction.

"Your dad should be proud of you… you have become quite a woman… you're not only becoming a good warrior… you also grow up a great body." he moved his other hand between her legs and slowly he started to rub her foil.

"DON'T… TOUCH ME!" she yells while trying to shake her body away from him. After a few minutes, David let go of her hair and moved back. He slowly took out his clothes until he was naked. Then he moves closer to her back again and grabs her hair one more time. "Arrrrrggggg!" Ellie can't hold her scream this time as he pulls her hair harder.

Slowly David moved his head to her shoulder and whispered. "Ohhhh… don't worry my sweet hunting girls… I will do more than touch you… and you're going to love it." David moves closer to her back and slowly starts to introduce his dick inside of her.

"Noooooo!" Ellie screams as soon she feels his dick moving inside of her. Getting fucked by a vampire is going to be her worst nightmare. Soon he was all in, David start to move his hip and start to fuck the girl. Ellie tries to move away, but her retraining doesn't let her. She try to fucked her mind with other things, but she can shake the disgust she was feeling right now. I'm sorry father… I fail you. She said in her mind while continue feeling David's dick moving inside of her. She also can sense the smile on her back as soon as he moves his hands on her waist to hold her in position, while he starts to move faster and deeper. David fuck her hard for like 10 minutes before he stops and moves his head closer to her again.

"I hope you like that… because that was not the best part of this.' he whispers again before opening his mouth and sinking his fangs into her neck.

"Arrrggg!" Ellie yelled again as soon she feel her blood being sucked.

After a few minutes, David starts to move his hip again while continue sucking the blood out of her. David sucks her blood while fucking her faster and deeper again. A few minutes later and against her will… some moan escape her mouth as she continues to get fucked by the vampire. A few minutes later, David moves his mouth out of her neck and smiles. "I told you that you're going to love it at the end." David looks down at Ellie's ass and enjoys the view as he continues moving his dick inside the girl. After a few more minutes, David moves his head closer to Ellie, puts his fangs back on her neck, and starts sucking again.

"Nooooooo!" Ellie yelled as her worst nightmare came true.

( In another part )

Joel abruptly opens his eyes and sits up as soon he feels that something was wrong. "ELLIE!" he screamed in panic while looking around the place.

"Hey… you need to calm down man… you're lucky to be alive." Joel hears a voice coming from the little kitchen on the other side of the room. Joel looks at him while the man starts walking toward him with some food in one hand and a glass in the other.

"Bill?" said Joel, a little disorientated.

"Yes… is me," he said before getting closer to him.

Joel looked around the place and noticed that he was in the cabin he rented. "What the hell happened? Where is Ellie?" he started to ask while sitting on the edge of the bed.

Bill walks toward Joel and offers him the glass with water. "Drink this… it will help you."

Joel moves his hand to his side as soon as he feels some pain there. "Fuck!… what the hell have you done to me?" Joel said while checking the bandage around his waist.

"Well, I tried to fix you yesterday… you have a lot of cuts and a few broken ribs, but to my surprise today you look a lot better."

"Yesterday? How long have I been out?"

"Almost… 24 hours… I thought that you were not going to make it when I brought you here, but you heal really fast."

"24 hours?! Shit!... That was too long… What happened to Ellie?"

"You told me that they… took her… remember?" said Bill with his hand still extended. "Drink this… it will help with the pain."

"Fuck… that is right… those blood fuckers must tock her… we need to find her." said Joel while standing up.

"Yeah… I'm working on it… but if you want to go and rescue her… you need to get better. So take this and drink it."

Joel looks at the man for a few minutes, before he grabs the glass from his hand and starts to drink the liquid. "Fuck!..." he said after spilling the liquid in his mouth. What the hell is this? It tastes like shit." he passed the glass back to Bill.

"You should drink it… it will help you."

"I don't need that crap to get better… I will be fine in no time."

"At least you should stay in bed for a while… Don't force your body more than it needs it. It will take some time to find where they take her."

"Don't worry about me… just tell me that you have something… if I was out that long… Ellie doesn't have much time." Joel watches Bill as he walks back to the small kitchen and put the glass on the sink. "Yeah… take you time… it's not like Ellie is in danger… so why do you not hurry up and find her and stop acting like she is not."

Bill turns around and glares at him. "I don't need you to tell me that… Do you think that I'm not worried sick? Ellie is like a daughter to me." he said while walking close to Joel. "We don't know anything about it, but even so… we trust you to help us in this fight. And right now I need you to bring her back… Ellie is all I have… and I promise her father to keep her safe, so don't tell me that I'm not worried about all this."

"Sorry… you're right. You don't know much about me, even though I know a lot about you two. But I have some secrets to keep and I can't talk about my past much. But be sure that I will do my best to bring Ellie back no matter what."

"I hope… that we can…" Bill walks toward the small table where he has his laptop. He sat on the chair in front of it and started to press some buttons.

Joel walks slowly toward Bill and stops behind him. "So, what have you found so far?"

"Not much… I've been searching for hours trying to find where his hideout is… and so far nothing." he continues touching buttons and the image of the scream continues changing. "I did all I could to find any clue on where they could be… but David is good. He must find a place so hidden that no information pops up on the internet."

"It has to be something…those vampires mention something for Halloween night and that is tomorrow… so I don't think that Ellie has too much time."

"Do you think I don't know that? I am not supposed to tell this to anyone, but I need to trust you if I want you to save her. I've been working with her since her father died. And before that, I worked with her father, but she didn't know that… Her father was a great man and a hunter, but he didn't want that life for her… Ellie's dad wants her to have a normal life, he even makes me promise that if something happens to him I should take care of her and keep her out of all this…"

"But that girl is stubborn as hell… right?"

"Yeah… she is. And not wanting is going to stop her if she put her mind to something."

"Don't worry, I know what you mean. I think that you and I are on the same page."

"I hope so. I tried to keep her away from this, but Ellie wanted to continue with her father's legacy… she wanted to stop the vampire and save the world just like her father tried to do… but I know the real reason for Ellie to be a hunter was for vengeance… she wanted to track down David… and kill him."

"So he was the one that killed her father?" Joel asked even if he already knew that. Joel knows Ellie's father too, but he can't tell them that… at least not yet.

"Yes… I try to hide it from her at first, so she doesn't waste her life on hunting him down… but eventually, she finds out and has been after him for the last five years. She almost got him 3 years ago when you saved her life… from that David trap, but he escape… remember?"

"Yeah… I remember. But I didn't know it was him the one that kill Ellie's father… I was just hunting him down after he killed a bunch of kids back in Colorado. I was lucky to find her when I did… too bad she hated me for that."

"Yeah… she thought that you were helping him… but I knew the truth… and she too, she only doesn't want to admit it. She was lucky that you were there in time to help her."

Joel shakes his head as he remembers the incident. "She is too young to be doing this… I can get why she does it, but she can get killed if she continues hunting vampires alone."

"I know… but what can I do? She is never going to stop… not until David and Mortis are dead-" Bill stops abruptly and quickly starts to press some buttons on his laptop. As he starts to remember something.

"What? Did you find something?" Joel asked while bending forward and looking at the screen.

"I think… I do," answered Bill while continuing to work. And after a few minutes, the screen stops at a picture of an old mansion. "I don't know why I didn't think about it before, but I think there is where they must have Ellie," said Bill while pointing at the mansion picture in the scream.

"Are you sure about that? That mansion is not even in Jackson… so why do you think they're there?" said Joel looking at the picture.

"I know the place is not in Jackson… That is why I didn't find it before. As the information said, that mansion belongs to a man called Mortis Grimful… he died 50 years ago and the place has been abandoned for all that time until his grandson reclaimed it 3 years ago…. The owner has the same name as David second in command."

"I don't get it… who is this Mortis? And how do you think that he has something to do with David?"

"Because the owner has the same name as David second in command. He was the one that help David escape and I remember that his name was Mortis. So that is how David was keeping his men with a low profile in Jackson for that long… Because his hideout is not even inside the town."

Joel looks at the picture of the mansion again. "So what are we waiting for? If Ellie is there we need to go and rescue her." Joel moves away from Bill quickly but has to stop when he feels the pain.

Bill turns around and looks at him. "You should get more rest… Now that we know where David is, we still have some time before Halloween. And I don't think you're in any conduction to help her right now…" Bill stood up and walked to where they had their weapons and equipment and grab one. "Also, I will go with you after we form some kind of plan… after all, she is my responsibility, not yours."

Joel walk toward the table and stood beside him. "Sorry to break your hero time Bill… but you won't last five minutes inside there…" said Joel while picking up his gun from the table and starting to check it. "I know that you care for her a lot, but you're only a geek man… no offense."

"None taken."

You just find all you can about that place and I will come out with a plan. Now I will take a shower and get ready. So try to give me something when I came out… okay?"

Bill looked at him while trying to say something, but he knew that Joel was right. He only helps Ellie with the tech, weapons, and information. He doesn't have the experience Joel has on killing vampires, so it will be better if he helps him by giving him all he needs to rescue Ellie. "Okay, Mr. Miller you got yourself a deal."

"Please… Just call me Joel," he said before entering the bathroom.

( Next day in David's Mansion )

David was in the old mansion library with a cup of wine in one hand as look at the portage of the old owner of the mansion, when he heard a knock on the door. "Enter."

Soon the door was open, and a man entered the room and walked to the middle of it. "Everything is ready for tonight… master."

David stayed quiet for a few seconds still admiring the painting. "Good… Soon the girl hunter will serve her purpose… and our time to rule over this land will begin. Jackson will be our beginning and after we get control of the town we can act on the closer country and start to get more power and when our army gets ready we can start our own nation."

"Yes, Master that will be wonderful."

David raises his cup toward the painting. "Mortis was a good loyal soldier and a friend… he could be greater than his grandfather. But he will be avenger tonight… no one is going to be like him… loyal until the and." David lowers his cup toward his mouth and drinks the wine. Soon after he finishes he turns around and looks at the man in front of him. "Gather the rest of the boys in the ceremony chamber and send two women to the dungeon with the dress I chose for the girl and wait there for me. I will escort the girl hunter to the arena myself."

"Yes… master." the man bowed and started to walk away.

"One other thing… keep the human guards around the mansion on alert… I don't want anyone to interrupt the ceremony."

"Yes, master. I will inform the captain and his men to get ready."
