Prues eyes went wide as she saw the big, red locomotive. The whole platform was covered in smoke and everything looked dimly. Patricia helped her daughter to put her trunk in one of the apartments. "Do you have everything?" Patricia wanted to know from her daughter. "Yeah, if not I'm going to write you", Prue said happy. "Alright I'm going to miss you", Patricia sighed and hugged her daughter once more. "I'm going to miss you too Mama", Prue said and hugged her mother back. Prue waved at her mother when she stepped into the train. As she stepped into the apartment she was taken aback. At the window sat a girl with bright red hair. "Excuse me who are you?" The girl turned around and smiled. "I'm Lily, is it alright if I sit here?" Lily wanted to know. "Sure I'm Prue by the way" Prue introduced herself grinning and sat across from Lily. The two girls talked until four boys knocked at the door and asked if they could sit with them. "Are those friends of you Rem?" Prue wanted to know from Remus and pointed at the three others. "I just met them. Can we sit with you?" he wanted to know. "Fine", Prue said with a shrug and turned back to Lily. The boys sat in their apartment and started talking as well. They were travelling for some time when the apartment door opened again, a boy with long hair stood in the doorway. "Lily there you are", he said and sat between her and one of the other boys. "Can you believe that we're almost there?" the boy asked Lily, who simply shook her head. "Oh Sev that's Prue. Prue that's Severus", Lily introduced the two. Severus nodded at Prue before he turned back to Lily. "Which house do you think you're going to?" Severus wanted to know. At this the boy with the black hair and glasses, who sat beside Prue laughed. "As long as it isn't Slytherin everything's alright." "At my luck I will get there, my whole family was there", the boy with the brown curls grumbled. "To bad I started to like you", the boy with the glasses laughed. "You have no idea Slytherin has brought up the mightiest wizards of all time", Severus said. "Whatever Snivellus", the brown haired boy laughed. Lily glared at him and took Severus' hand. "Come let's go Sev", she said and pulled the boy with her out of the apartment. Prue looked apologizing at Remus as she followed Lily and Remus from the apartment.

Prue sighed as she unpacked her things in her dorm. She was wondering how it would go this year. She and Remus were now thirteen and in the last two years she had put him naked into the bed in the shrieking shack, that had never been a problem until the end of the last year, because they weren't kids anymore, they were growing up and it was more than embarrassing to see him like this. "What are you thinking about?" Lily wanted to know. Prue looked at her best friend and smiled. "What Professor Dumbledore want of me", Prue said quickly. It wasn't even a lie, the professor had written her a letter, that she should come to his office at Saturday. "Have you done something?" Lily wanted to know and looked at her skeptically. Prue shook her head. Lily sighed and put her things away. Even though they were best friends Lily didn't understand why Prue also spend so much time with Remus. Actually he wasn't the issue but she couldn't stand his friends James Potter and Sirius Black. On Saturday after breakfast Prue went on her way to Dumbledore's office. "Prue!" she heard someone call for her. She turned around and Remus came running to her. "Remus what's wrong?" she asked and looked up at him. "Are you on the way to Dumbledore as well?" he asked slightly out of breath. Prue nodded and continued her way. "So he has written you a letter as well?" Prue wanted to know while she moved forward. Remus nodded. "What do you think this is about?" Prue looked at her friend from the side. "Probably it's about your little furry problem", she said with a shrug. "What makes you think that?" "He wants to speak to the both of us." Remus nodded. When they reached the gargoyle Prue told him the password and both climbed the staircase up. The door to Dumbledore's office was already ajar so Prue knocked at the open door. "Professor Dumbledore?" she asked while she pushed the door open. Dumbledore stood beside his desk and was feeding his phoenix. "Ah Miss Halliwell, Mr. Lupin come in." Dumbledore pointed at the two chairs in front his desk and the two teenager took a seat. "You wanted to speak with us Sir", Remus said and Prue could hear that his voice was shaking a little. She knew that he was scared that Dumbledore would one day expel from the school. "Yeah it's about your classes", Dumbledore said and laid his hand above each other. "Is something not right?" Prue wanted to know. At the end of the last year they had to choose new classes and Prue wondered if they had taken too much. "No Miss Halliwell it's more about the content of your classes. More so of one certain class." Prue and Remus exchanged a confused glance. "Could you explain that Sir?" Dumbledore lay back in his chair. "This year you will cover dark magical creatures in defense against the dark arts among them werewolves." Dumbledore watched Remus reaction and Prue looked worried at her friend. "And you worry that someone may figure out Remus' secret?" Prue asked and slowly turned back to the headmaster. Dumbledore sighed. "Yes especially Mr. Lupins friends who share a dorm with him. Mr. Black and Potter aren't stupid and in Mr. Black's case he was confronted with this during his childhood, I'm surprised he hasn't figured it out yet." Remus swallowed hard he knew that when James and Sirius found out what he was they would certainly want nothing more to do with him. "Than we'll look that it stays like this", Prue said determined. Dumbledore smiled. "That's the spirit Miss Halliwell."

Some weeks later they really stared to cover werewolves and as fate had planned it, it had to be around the full moon. Two days after the full moon Prue was walking through the corridors of the school she had just come from ancient runes and was on her way to the library where she was going to meet Lily when someone got in her way. "Black what are you doing?" she asked and wanted to push through him but he kept standing in her way. "Let me through", she growled. "Forget it, you're coming with me", he said and grabbed her wrist. Black pulled her to an empty classroom and pushed her inside. "Prue", she heard Remus worried voice. "Are you alright?" he asked as he helped her up. Prue nodded and turned around. "What's this crap Black?" she asked while he closed the door. "We know what you are", she heard the unmistakable voice of James Potter. Prue sighed annoyed. "I don't know what you're talking about Potter", she said and looked bored at Potter. "Once a moth you two disappear from your dorms and the day afterward one or both of you are found in the infirmary. And it just so happens that it's always on a full moon and a few days before that you act like you're sitting on pins and needles, which leads to only one conclusion. You both are werewolves." Prue swallowed, she didn't think the black-haired had that much brain power. "That's", she started but a hand on her shoulder stopped her. Prue turned around and looked up at Remus. "Remus", she whispered. "Let it be Prue. You're right I'm a werewolf. Prue hasn't anything to do with that she just helps me at my transformations." James, Sirius and little Peter Pettigrew, who was also there, as Prue only now realised, stared at her and Remus with wide eyes. Remus sighed, took Prue's hand and went for the door. Sirius who stood beside it reached out his arm and stopped them from going. "What are you thinking you're doing?" he asked and looked at Remus, a storm raging in his grey eyes. "Surely you don't want to have anything more to do with me, that's why I wanted to leave." James laughed and Sirius grinned, Peter just looked around between his friends. "Don't be stupid Remus, you're still the same like last month just because we know what you are doesn't change a thing about our friendship", James said. Astonished Remus looked at his friends. "But I'm a monster." Prue rolled her eyes, she had already tried so many times to get this thought out of Remus' brain. "Nonsense my parents are much worse than you and they are no werewolves", Sirius said grinning. "Sirius is right we want to help you." "How are we supposed to do that, as wolf he's dangerous", Peter said quietly. The gazes of the others moved to Prue. "What?" she asked. "You're helping Remus with his transformation how are you doing this?" Sirius asked. "Werewolves are only dangerous for humans", Prue explained with a shrug. "So you change into an animal?" James clarified. Prue nodded, took a step away from Remus and transformed. "Wicked", the three boys said baffled. "Can you show us how that works?" James asked exited. Prue changed back. "I'm not an Animagus but I can try", she offered.

Prue was on her way to the common room. She had accompanied Remus to the hospital wing, she had to promise him that she would come to the shrieking shack after he had transformed. She had simply rolled her eyes, they did it always like this now, she came after he had transformed and went shortly before he turned back. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize that someone had approached her until she felt how someone laid his arm around her. She looked left and saw Sirius beside her. "Sirius what do you want?" she asked slightly annoyed. "What can't a boy keep his girlfriend company?" he asked and looked at her. Prue took his arm from her shoulder. "For your notice Black I'm you're friend not you're girlfriend." Sirius only laughed a barking laughter. "Come on Prue can't you take a joke?" Prue rolled her eyes and moved on, Sirius followed her. "Sirius what do you want anyway?" she asked over her shoulder. "Oh yeah, James, Peter and I wanted to help you with Remus tonight", he said softly. Prue stopped, turned around and looked at him. "You did it?" she asked astonished. Prue had only been able to explain the basics of transformation to them and the boys had worked doggedly for the last two years to achieve their goal. Sirius grinned and nodded. "Alright, then meet me at dawn at the whipping willow."

Prue looked annoyed at her watch, if they wouldn't show up soon, she would go alone to Remus. "What are you waiting for pretty lady?" she heard Sirius voice but she couldn't see him anywhere. "Sirius stop it we don't have time for this", Prue said annoyed. A moment later James, Sirius and Peter appeared in front of her. James stuffed something silver into his bag. "Good it would be best if you transform and we go", Prue said and pointed at the tree behind her. "Is there a passage?" James wanted to know. Prue nodded. "What are you waiting for?" she wanted to know. "Well", James said and scratched his neck, "I don't think I'll fit through it." Prue looked skeptical at him, whereupon Sirius shoved his elbow into his side. "Show her", he urged his best friend. James stepped aside, his body started to change and then a fully grown stag stood in front of Prue. "That's incredible", she said, took a step closer to James and laid a hand on his forehead. She was nudged from the side and looked down. Beside her stood a big black dog. "Sirius?" Prue asked and the dog nodded, which caused that the rat on his snout nearly dropped down. "Alright. Sirius, Peter and I get Remus. James you'll wait here for us", she said and changed as well. To her amazement it worked great with the boys and so she let them take care of Remus.

With an annoyed sigh Sirius dropped beside Prue on the couch in the common room. "What's wrong with you?" she asked and flipped through her potions book. "I'm bored and prongs is busy", complained Sirius and laid his arm over his eyes. "Are you jealous of Lily?" Prue asked laughing. James and Lily had been named head students this year and Lily had taken a liking at James and for some weeks the two were now a couple. "Nonsense, it's fine that prongs finally got his girl but he shouldn't forget his friends because of this", Sirius complained and looked at Prue from beneath his arm. "He doesn't even want to come with me to Hogsmeade can you believe this?" he asked. Prue closed her book and looked at Sirius punishingly. "Yes I can, it's valentines day after all what about Peter and Remus?" she wanted to know and got up. "They want to learn or better Moony is trying to teach wormtail something." Prue smiled, Remus always tried that everybody got their good grades even if Peter was a lost cause. She wanted to go to her dorm as Sirius bend over the back rest of the sofa and asked: "What about you?" Prue turned around. "What is about me?" she asked irritated. "Are you coming to Hogsmeade with me?" Sirius asked and looked at her hopefully. "You know that everybody will think that we're a couple?" Sirius shrugged. "I don't care, so are we going to Hogsmeade?" Prue shook her head and went up the stairs. "As you will Black", she called back to him. Seldom she had so much fun at a Hogsmeade weekend as at this with Sirius. He always made fun of the couples they met in the village and made her laugh. He even bought her all her favorites sweets from Honeydukes. From this day on the two spend most of their free time together and Prue realized that she was starring on Sirius' lips from time to time and wondered how it would be to kiss him. Two weeks before their finals Prue and Sirius sat alone in the common room and reversed the lessons from the last years. Sirius laid back and threw his arms over the back rest. "Can't we take a break?" he asked and looked pleadingly at Prue. "We're almost finished", Prue said and chewed on her quill. "Come on Prue, you already said that two hours ago. Let's take a break." "You can take a break but I'll continue"; said Prue and took a note. Sirius sighed, than something gleamed in his gray eyes, he straightened and pinched Prue's side. Shocked she flinched and looked at him. She opened her mouth to say something, but Sirius pinched her again already and started to tickle her. Prue struggled and tried to get rid of Sirius. But because he was now laying on her it wasn't so easy. "Siri, Siri, Sirius", she said breathless and finally he let go of her. As Prue opened her eyes she looked straight into those of Sirius. He smiled down at her on a way she had never seen at him. Slowly he bend down to her and caught her lips in a light kiss. "Sorry", he said as he drew back. Prue shook her head and laid her hand on the back of his head. "That's alright", she said and pulled Sirius down to her to kiss him again.

"Lily calm down", Prue asked her best friend. "I can't I'm so nervous." Prue understood that Lily was nervous she would be at her place, but it was Lily's own fault that she wanted to get married at nineteen. "What if James changes his mind?" Lily asked panicked. "He wont, he loves you. Besides I would give him hell if he would. It would make Voldemort look like a harmless lapdog." Lily laughed softly. "Thanks Prue, you're the best", Lily said and hugged her friend. "No big deal are you ready?" Prue wanted to know. Lily nodded and the two made their way to the little Chapelle in which the wedding should take place. It was no big affair, only a few people were invited. Sirius and Prue, who would act as witnesses. Remus and Peter as well as some more of their former classmates. Remus waited in front the Chapelle and smiled as the two young women moved forwards him. "You look gorgeous", he said and kissed both on the cheek. "Thanks Moony for everything", said Lily. Remus nodded. He would take over the part of Lilys father, because Lilys parents had been killed in the last year by death eaters they couldn't be here and her sister had broken off the contact to her years ago. Prue hugged her friend and went into the Chapelle. The ceremony had been short and James and Lily beamed as they accepted the congratulations. As Lily threw her bouquet Prue caught it, who then winked at Sirius.

Prue sat down on the bed and took of her shoes. She and Sirius had just gotten home from dinner with the Potters. "What do you think about it?" Sirius asked and took of his shirt. "I don't know, what about you?" Prue wanted to know and looked up at her boyfriend. Sirius shrugged. "The two just got married and now they get a child. Sometimes I get the feeling their rushing things." While he said that Prue had gotten up again she now stood in front he dressing table and took of her earrings. "Beside I get the feeling that we're falling back behind them", Sirius continued and laid his arms around Prue. "What do you mean?" Prue asked and looked at him in the mirror. "Well we're almost as long a couple as them and not even engaged." Prue turned around in Sirius' arms and smiled at him. "We don't need that Siri I'm happy as it is. Beside didn't you just say that you find it rushed." Sirius smiled down at his girlfriend. "How did I deserve you?" he said and put his lips on Prues.

Breathing heavy Sirius and Prue ran through the children's unit of St. Mungo. In front a door they stopped and knocked. They heard a rustle from the inside and tried to get their breath back. The door was opened by James, he grinned over his whole face. "Padfoot, Prue it's good to see you come in", he greeted them and let them enter the room. On a bed in the room lay Lily she looked exhausted but gleamed full of happiness as she looked down on the small bundle in her arms. Slowly Prue went to her best friend and looked at the baby who was wrapped in a blue blanket. "He's beautiful Lil", Prue said. Lily looked up at her friend. "Thanks. Would you like to hold him?" Prue nodded and Lily laid the little boy into her arms. "You seem to know what you're doing", James said from the door while Sirius was only looking at his girlfriend with big eyes. "You forget, that I have three little sisters from which the youngest is just three", Prue said and sat on a chair. Sirius went to her while James sat on the bet with Lily. "Does the little one have a name?" Sirius asked and looked over Prue's shoulder at the baby. Lily laughed softly. "Of course his name is Harry. Harry James Potter." While Prue and Sirius were occupied with admiring Harry Lily nudged James and urged him to ask them what they had talked about. "Sirius, Prue, Lily and I would like you to become the little ones godparents." Prue looked up surprised, but then she smiled at James which meant yes to him and according to the expression on Sirius' face he also wasn't averse to the idea either, even though James had the feeling that his best friend would prefer to start his own family with Prue.

Halloween 1981

"I have to go Sirius, I'll see you tomorrow." Prue bid her boyfriend goodbye with a short kiss and left the apartment. She had the feeling that her boyfriend was somehow absent and she didn't know why. Did he want to break up with her, but she couldn't imagine that. Anyway she had a surveillance until the next evening and no matter what it was she and Sirius would talk about it then. Prue sighed she would like to talk to Lily about her worries but they couldn't meat because since the beginning of the year they protected their house with the fidilius charm and only the secret keeper could enter. She would have liked to spend Harrys first birthday with James, Lily and Sirius but instead they had only been able to send a toy broom at their godson. As Prue entered the ministry she tried the shake her thoughts of.

Early the next morning Prue returned from her surveillance which had been extremely tiring. As she entered the office she was immediately hugged by Sophie. "Prue I'm so sorry", she said and pressed her friend close to her. "Soph your choking me and what are you talking about anyway?" Prue wanted to know and pushed Sophie from her. "You don't know yet?" she asked wide eyed. "Know what?" Sophie went to her desk and handed Prue the daily prophet. She looked at the front page and had to sit down, that couldn't be true. "This can't be", she mumbled. "That's not all", Sophie said and opened the paper further back and handed it back to Prue. After she had read what stood there she shook her head. "That's not possible Sirius wouldn't do this, James was like a brother for him." Unfortunately the fact that Sirius should have delivered his best friend, his wife and child to the dark lord wasn't the worst news on this day. Around noon Prue's boss called her to his office and handed her a letter from America in which stood that her mother had been killed on a mission. Prue thanked her boss left his office, drove as fast as she could to the airport and took the next flight to San Francisco.
