Disclaimer: This story is a Side Story to Yu-Gi-Oh! Dragon Knight Reborn! I do not own Kamen Rider Decade or any Kamen Rider Series. Characters may be SLIGHTLY OOC due to the story and events. I do own an OC in this story but I will not say who yet.
This is Chapter 8 of the Decade Side Story for DKR. Please enjoy it like a fan for Kamen Rider and for Dragon Knight Reborn. Please enjoy!
Chapter 8: World of Loss
Natsumi yawns, drinking warm coffee with breakfast. Dragonic, eating his breakfast which was coffee with rice and toast. He swallows it all before greeting her. "Morning Natsumi-chan!"
"Um morning!" Natsumi replies back, amazed the dragon set up the breakfast. She eyes the magazine he's reading and asks him suspiciously. "So is that... you know, a porno?"
Dragonic immediately staggers back, giving her a look.
"Why would-" He begins to protest only to take it back and gives it to her. Natsumi blinks, accepting it and opens it up. She blushes bright red by the sexy photos of models or other older women posing as they wear sexy outfits."
"Of course." Natsumi utters out, sweat dropping heavily with a freakout face.
Dragonic sighs as he explains himself. "Before you ask, I like women at or over 18. They just have more bust and style."
Natsumi blinks heavily for so many reasons, asking him. "Wait... YOU ACTUALLY LIKE WOMEN?! And not 16?"
The purple dragon makes a face of almost disappointment, sipping on his coffee before he answers her. "I have a huge respect for young girls and... issues with underage anything."
He growls, just thinking that time he got himself in that problem. Stupid Turtle Master pervert can't focus. Some martial artist.
''Besides, I would fail as the role of adorable little dragon!" Dragonic then declares, posing like a smiling, happy dragon. Natsumi sweat drops at that line and then asks. "Then what about the times you look under my skirt or want me to dress sexy?"
"... You're over 18, right?" Dragonic then questions her, causing Natsumi to freeze up in surprise. He isn't wrong.
"Besides, it would look good on you, Natsumi-chan!" He then points out with a grin. Natsumi sweat drops heavier, really questioning the dragon's taste. At the least he doesn't peek when she's showering. Plus... Dragonic is adorable, making Natsumi to smile.
Dragonic, sipping on his coffee, was tempted once to peak on her showering but he chose not to. He prefers being asked or welcomed. Besides... the dragon narrows his eyes rather sad, preferring to be some kind of guardian for Natsumi. Her grandfather's death is just another death he must atone for by protecting his only grandchild.
''Anyway...'' Dragonic begins to change subject as he announces excitedly. "Welcome to the World of Agito! And more Grongi too!''
''Actually they're called Unknown.'' Tsukasa's voice, walking down the stairs, corrects him with Dragonic agreeing. ''Yes they are.''
He walks through the main room and Tsukasa is wearing a mailman's uniform. He scans the room seeing Absol eating her meals.
''Where's Yusuke?'' He asks Natsumi who answers. ''He wanted to check something out.''
She didn't get it herself either. Yusuke went to check something out after a call and that's it. She wondered why- Natsumi then realizes that Tsukasa is wearing something really bizarre now, fully staring at him.
''Are you a mailman now, Tsukasa-kun?'' She asks not sure if she should even laugh a bit. Tsukasa groans by her comment and answers by adjusting the outfit. ''I already hate this outfit.''
Natsumi giggles as Dragonic adds with a grin pulling out an envelope. ''Well you better do your job.''
He hands him the envelope, simply written for someone named Shoichi.
''I get the gist of what I have to do first.'' Tsukasa states figuring this will be the hint to solving this world's problem. And he better get on to that, knowing well that thief Kaito will get in their way again. He grabs a toast and eats it, chewing on it gazing at Natsumi drinking her coffee slowly. Tsukasa chews, humming as he swallows and then asks her. ''Natsumikan, you coming?''
Natsumi staggers looking at him, uttering out rather happily. ''Really?''
Tsukasa snatches her coffee and drinks it, smirking as he answers it. ''Yes, really.''
Natsumi blushes, rather happy to be involved and help Tsukasa. After all, she worries that Tsukasa might screw up or get himself into more trouble… or get hurt again. She wants to support and help him.
''Absol!'' Absol barks, wanting to come to but Tsukasa immediately protests. ''You're staying here mutt. I don't want that Kaito sneaking his thieving hands in Natsumi's home.''
Silent by his orders, Absol groans but obeys. Tsukasa raises an eyebrow by this win, expecting the mon to bite his leg or something but for once she's listening.
''… Good mutt.'' He states finishing eating and heads outside. Natsumi follows as does Dragonic and Absol barks. ''Absol!''
''She wants you to bring him something tasty.'' Dragonic translates with Tsukasa shrugging it off, promising. ''Sure-sure.''
Wearing their motorcycle gear, Tsukasa rides off with Natsumi holding behind his back with Dragonic flying over them.
They travel through the city, seemingly normal as Tsukasa arrives at Shoichi's home… and it was a mess. The door was partly open, a mess inside and a ton of mail in the mailbox, filled and leaking out.
''Guess he hates mail?'' Tsukasa taunts, a bit. Natsumi hums looking around and sees someone. She immediately yanks on his bag causing Tsukasa to face her and then look at where she was looking, staring at a bearded man looking like a mess near the stairways.
''… You must be Shoichi. Mail.'' Tsukasa announces, waving his letter. The man quickly runs off with Tsukasa sighing. ''Of course.''
Tsukasa leaps off the rails and lands on the ground, giving chase. Natsumi, gasping, taken back, runs after him with Dragonic helping her lead the way. They track down Tsukasa and confront the bearded man in an alley stairway.
''Who are you?'' The man questions irritatedly though also oddly worried looking around.
Tsukasa curls a smirk, finding it funny how someone asks him this question so early but he gladly answers holding the mail like a Rider Card. ''Just a passing-through mailman.''
Natsumi and Dragonic both sweat drop how oddly perfect he did that.
Tsukasa holds up the envelope to the man, telling him. ''This is for you and I don't take no for a-''
Suddenly the man pushes him but not for the envelope but pushing him away from the swinging strike of a monster appearing behind them. Natsumi panics, yelling out. ''It's a Grongi!''
''It's an Unknown actually.'' Dragonic corrects her sweat dropping. Tsukasa glares at the Unknown, going to have to deal with this first. He pulls out the Decadriver which Shoichi sees in shock as Tsukasa straps it on.
''Also I'm this. I'll get back to you in a moment.'' Tsukasa simply explains as he pulls out the Decade card, holding it forward and taps it with his middle finger twice.
''Henshin!'' He shouts, sliding the card into the belt's card inserter and pushes its handles. The Decadriver glows as Tsukasa transforms. ''KAMEN RIDE! DECADE!''
He becomes Decade, swiping his hands before charging at the Unknown. Shoichi watches Decade engage the Unknown, easily overpowering it as its thrust backwards.
Decade fires multiple energy shots from the Ride Booker's Gun form he just pulled out, stunning the Unknown as sparks fly out. He twirls the blaster before switching it into its sword form, charging in and slashing the Unknown with further sparks flying out.
Decade swipes the back end of his sword with the palm of his other hand before pulling out the Final Attack card and dunks it into the card inserter of his belt.
''FINAL ATTACK RIDE! DECADE!'' The Decadriver announces as the 10 holographic cards manifest in a row towards the Unknown and Decade swings a powerful slash with his sword, unleashing a powerful magenta color energy slash. The slash passes through the holographic cards with such speed that it blitzes right through the Unknown, destroying it in an explosion.
Natsumi grins, cheering for Decade's win as he changes back to Tsukasa. He walks up to Shoichi and just says holding up the envelope. ''Your mail.''
Shoichi eyes it and even though he was taken back by this man, he refuses it, proclaiming. ''I don't want it. I refuse to have it.''
Tsukasa rolls his eyes replying. ''Touchy. Now why-''
But before he could ask him why he doesn't want the mail, an energy blast comes at them but Dragonic intercepts it, whipping it in half with his tail. Tsukasa immediately becomes alarmed, turning to see a buffalo-like Unknown in the shadows before vanishing.
''Another Unknown?'' Tsukasa mutters surprised, turning around to face Shoichi but the man is gone. Natsumi groans uneasily with all of this, asking him. ''What was that about?''
Tsukasa eyes the envelope and questions this too. ''Good question Natsumikan.''
The trio search for Shoichi with no luck. So they return back to the Hikari Studio as it was night.
They came back inside the studio with Natsumi calling out to everyone. ''We're-''
Immediately Absol dashes past her with such speed and CHRUNK. Tsukasa slowly widens his eyes and lets out a gasping yell by Absol biting his right leg. He gasps out kicking Absol off his bitten leg.
''DAMN IT MUTT!'' He yells pointing his finger at the white furred mon.
''ABSOL!'' Absol barks furious with Dragonic translating. ''You forgot to bring her a treat.''
Tsukasa groans, rubbing his bitten leg, just saying. ''Tomorrow.''
Absol growls but accepts rushing to rub her head on Natsumi's leg. Tsukasa glares irritately, limping his bitten right leg. He reaches a chair and sits down. He sighs, pulling out Shoichi's mail, tempting to read and he should.
Just then Yusuke arrives, looking rather exhausted.
''Yusuke-kun, where were you?'' Natsumi asks concerned where he went.
Yusuke explains what he's been doing and why while Tsukasa opens and begins reading Shoichi's letter. What, he's not a real mailman; he has no obligation to follow the rules of a mailman to ever read another's letter. Besides, this might give him a hint as to who Shoichi is and figure out his deal. Also not interested in Yusuke's story.
Natsumi did listen to Yusuke, explaining he got a call by mistake but he recognizes the voice. So he went to meet the person and she was identical to Ai, though she called herself Tohko. They talked as she was calling a friend but instead she got him. She revealed she needed this friend as the user for GX-3 to stop the Unknown. After realizing these Unknown as like the Grongi, Yusuke immediately accepted to help her.
''OH! You met someone that looks like your detective friend?'' Natsumi expresses giggling that she has never seen Yusuke this determined before.
''I decided to help in the program of being G3-X's new user but well…'' Yusuke states though hesitate as he's not sure if he'll become the new user for A) He wants to help Tsukasa and Natsumi on their quest… and B) Daiki Kaito is the other user and he won the position. He's worried that man is up to no good. But before he could tell the two, Tsukasa interrupts him by questioning him. ''Guilty then?''
Yusuke staggers asking, bizarre. ''For what?''
Tsukasa gazes at him partly, telling him. ''For not being strong enough to protect her.''
Yusuke literally widens his eyes before getting mad. Tsukasa then adds calmly, opening up the envelope. ''If not for Dragonic, Ai would be dead right?''
Yusuke remains further silent, about to call him off but he's not wrong. If not for the purple dragon, Ai would be dead and he would be hunted for his failure. That's why he needs to become something more as the Kuuga of his world.
''When I go back to my world, I want- I must become stronger to protect those smiles including hers.'' Yusuke expresses his goal, desiring the power to protect those smiles not forgetting his promise to his detective partner. ''That way I don't fail her again.''
Tsukasa scoffs pointing out the obvious. ''So it's guilt then. Yusuke, sometimes, you're just an idiot.''
Natsumi gazes at him sticking out her thumb to apologize to their friend or else but she's stopped as Dragonic, silent through that conversation, utters out rather sadden. ''… It's hard to accept losing those you've grown a connection towards.''
Everyone startles eyeing the purple dragon, adjusting his fedora downward. Tsukasa pauses at that moment, thinking about his younger sister but shakes off those thoughts fully opening the letter and reads it.
Dragonic flies up to the young A.R. Rider. Even though this young man wields the great powers of Kuuga, he has yet to fully embrace and control them like the true version that easily overpowered Tsukasa.
''Do what you want Yusuke but you'll never obtain your true strength like this.'' The dragon tells him firmly also wanting him to achieve his goals but the method he's trying won't work. Yusuke isn't sure either if being a GX-3 user is the right choice to becoming stronger but he wants to try, as well as another reason.
''It's only until I help her… and find the person she cares for.'' Yusuke states promising Tohko that he would find her friend too. Tsukasa has just finished reading the letter and oddly hums having listened to that last bit. He faces Yusuke and ultimately asks him. ''… What was her name?''
Yusuke raises an eyebrow and tells him her name. Tsukasa soon remains quiet, but smirks a bit, finally getting a part of the puzzle. Now if he's right who Shoichi is, then the puzzle will be completed.
It is the next day as Tsukasa (now wearing his casual clothes), Natsumi and Dragonic are dining in a small ramen shop. Absol is also eating on the ground behind them. Tsukasa gladly offers the ramen, figuring since Absol might bite him again. That and they've been tracking down Shoichi with little success as he's not in his home. Though he is puzzled about the meal choice Natsumi wanted.
''Why are we eating ramen this early?'' He questions not opposing the idea but finding it bizarre. Natsumi giggles explaining it as she dines on her bowl. ''It's because ramen is tasty and warm to eat for these cold days.''
''Makes sense.'' Tsukasa responds, eating his bowl slowly. Dragonic nods rapidly, eating his bowl of Ramen with a side dish of a bowl of rice. The two humans eye the dragon amaze for his love for rice. Wondering why he loves-
Suddenly the 3 blink hearing heavy blows from someone. They turn to their side and see a young man with brown hair up to his shoulders blowing heavily with a rather sad scowl face.
Natsumi sweat drops from his heavy blowing with Tsukasa actually annoyed, telling this man off. ''Do you mind?''
The scowled young man faces them, almost acting awkward though firm. They eye him who eyes them back before realizing it and apologizes. ''Oh. Sorry. Too hot.''
Natsumi nods politely, smiling. The young man nods back, resuming blowing onto the ramen. Tsukasa raises an eyebrow. The ramen wasn't that hot and ramen is supposed to be eaten warm. Natsumi then recognizes what could be the issue and asks the stranger politely. ''By any chance are you maybe a Nekojita?''
The young man staggers, stopping his blow and faces her. Tsukasa cracks a smirk proclaiming. ''Oh? You can't have anything hot?''
''What's so funny about that?'' The stranger questions in a serious manner. Tsukasa smirks at his firm face and just states. ''Humorous actually.''
The stranger still gazes before resuming his blowing and once the bowl was less than warm, he begins eating it letting out a gasping taste of heat still.
Tsukasa checks his watch and declares. ''Well we better get going.''
Natsumi sighs, enjoying the rest as she gets off the stands as did Dragonic. The two with Absol went back to the bike. However before he leaves, Tsukasa orders another bowl of hot Ramen. The chef gladly serves him an extra bowl but before he can ask him if it is to go, Tsukasa quickly grabs a few napkins on both his palms, grabs the bowl and quickly pours it all down to the stranger's half eaten bowl. The man drops his mouth gazing angrily at Tsukasa who smirks calmly.
''Enjoy my gift, Nekojita-san.'' Tsukasa taunts with a smug smirk at the really angry young man, leaving him behind with the extra bowl and the bill on said bowl.
The group resumes their search until Absol barks, tracking down Shoichi's scent after Tsukasa took a shirt of his from his apartment. For once taking the dog with them was a good call.
They search on foot and spot Shoichi hiding in an alley alone, just enduring it. Tsukasa looks around to make a sweep if he sees any Unknown/Lord and none so far. He then approaches the man, calling out to him as he pulls out his letter. ''Hey, I don't take no for an answer.''
The bearded man glares, though more unease looking around. He tries to run for it but Tsukasa stops him, revealing it to him. ''Besides I've figured you out Shoichi. You've left your position in the police after an incident and went missing since. Someone has been worry trying to contact you since.''
Shoichi is left speechless, staggering. Tsukasa can see this, raising his hand and he asks him. ''I can help you. Give me the chance to-''
But before he can, Shoichi suddenly yells in agony grabbing his hands over his head. He starts moving around in pain with Natsumi questioning concern. ''What's happening with him?''
Dragonic sniffs the air and confirms it. ''A Lord is fighting close by.''
''Then-'' Tsukasa utters, confirming his suspicions as Shoichi begins to transform. Expecting Shoichi to be Agito due to the Unknown going after him, instead he transforms into the monstrous Gills. Natsumi panics hiding behind Dragonic with Tsukasa honestly not seeing this one coming.
''Never mind, I wasn't expecting he was Gills.'' Tsukasa says really surprised.
''RRRAAAAWWWRRR!'' Gills lets out a scream as monstrous as his appearance. Natsumi screams as Dragonic orders Tsukasa. ''Tsukasa, restrain him!''
Tsukasa nods strapping on the Decadriver.
''I got it. Back away Natsumikan, mutt!'' Tsukasa tells them as Dragonic pulls Natsumi and Absol back. Gills gazes at Tsukasa, letting out another scream coming at him like a wild creature. Tsukasa dodges around his punches, kicking him back and declares holding forward the Decade card. ''Henshin!''
He tosses the card into his belt and pushes the handles. The Decadriver announces as Tsukasa transforms. ''KAMEN RIDE! DECADE!''
He transforms into Decade, wiping his hands together, as he comes charging at Gills who suddenly grows sharp wrist blades and slashes the rider easily as he slams him through a pillar, breaking it as he comes out the other side. Decade groans as he's suddenly grabbing and dragged by Gills, tossing and slamming him into a wall. Decade grunts falling off the crack wall, dropping on one knee.
Natsumi watches worryingly with Dragonic glaring that Tsukasa needs to stop holding back.
''Okay…'' Decade utters standing up and pulls out the Kiva Kamen Ride card and inserts it into the belt.
''KAMEN RIDE! KIVA!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade pushes the handles and transforms into Kiva. He then pulls out a Form Ride card and slides it in too.
''FORM RIDE! KIVA GARULU!'' The Decadriver once more announces as Decade-Kiva changes into its sword form. He comes charging with his wolf-like sword, clashing against the berserk Gills. Sparks fly as Gills swings around like a wild beast with Decade-Kiva parrying each strike while also mimicking his movements, matching and countering them as he slashes Gills across the chest.
Decade-Kiva grabs on Gills by the back, pleading with him. ''Stop it! I'm not here to fight you.''
Gills yells out furiously breaking free and runs off. Decade-Kiva runs after him with Natsumi following him with Dragonic and Absol.
Decade-Kiva chases down to an empty side of a building and sees Gills just destroying an Unknown.
''Tsukasa?'' Decade-Kiva turns to see Yusuke in some kind of police uniform. ''Yusuke?''
Yusuke looks at Gills and staggers as he looks so much like a Kamen Rider but more monstrous.
''W-what is he?'' Yusuke asks, alarmed but Decade-Kiva informs him. ''Complicated but don't kill him.''
Yusuke doesn't follow but nods. However, just then Gills is suddenly struck by multiple shots as he screams in agony dropping backwards. This alarms Decade-Kiva, turning to see Kamen Rider Diend doing the deed.
''Kaito!'' Decade, changing back to standard form, calls out angry he's making a mess again.
Gills gasps, getting up weakly as Diend declares with a chuckle, pointing his Diendriver at him. ''Kamen Rider Gills, you'll make a good treasure for a monster.''
Immediately Decade gets in the way of Diend's aim. Diend scoffs with a slight chuckle, actually surprised by this Tsukasa.
''Tsukasa-san, I must have told you this already but don't get in my way.'' Diend threatens him by taking aim with his Diendriver. Decade scoffs back pointing his finger at him protesting. ''And I told you Kaito, I will always get your way!''
Diend dashes at him as Decade swings a kick, actually reacting to Diend's speed. This startles the cyan colored rider as he pulls out two Rider cards and loads them into his blaster.
''KAMEN RIDE!'' The Diendriver announces as he takes aim and fires. Two energy shots come out and manifest themselves as two riders. ''DELTA! DRAKE!''
Both summoned riders fire their shots at Decade who rolls dodging their attacks. Decade wipes his hands standing up, refusing to let Diend win this time.
''Things won't end like last time.'' Decade declares pulling out his own rider card and dunks it into the Decadriver's card inserter, pushing the handles.
''KAMEN RIDE!'' The Decadriver proclaims as Decade transforms and becomes Kamen Rider Faiz. ''FAIZ!''
''Oh? Rematch then, Tsukasa-san?'' Diend asks oddly eagerly for Round 2. Decade-Faiz doesn't answer as he comes at them.
Diend chuckles firing as Drake and Delta engage Decade. Natsumi arrives watching this worry with Dragonic humming to see Decade's growth.
Decade-Faiz charges with his right fist already equipped with the Faiz Shot, punching Drake back hard as he evades multiple shots from Delta. However Diend moves in superfast and kicks Decade-Faiz from the back into those same energy shots. They hit as Decade-Faiz yells out in agony sparks flying out.
''It's going to take more than that to beat me, Tsukasa-san.'' Diend taunts him, brushing off the hits.
Decade-Faiz gets himself back up, wiping his hands. He then declares replying. ''Good point.''
He pulls out a Rider card and slides it in, pushing the handles forward.
''ATTACK RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as suddenly the Machine Decader drives out of nowhere forward and transforms, converting into a Battle Mode in the form of a fighting robot with weaponized arms. ''AUTO VAJIN!''
Natsumi, Yusuke and Absol drop their jaws with Diend rather shocked.
The robot shoots out from its right shoulder the lightsaber-like weapon, the Faiz Edge, towards Decade-Faiz who catches it and twirls it, swiping the end of its blade.
He comes charging as the mecha robot fires Gatling barrages at Drake and Delta, forcing them to dodge the bullets as they're slash by Decade-Faiz with ease. Diend takes aim shooting long range only for the robot to fly guarding Decade-Faiz's body with his own, taking no damage.
This startles Diend as the robot fires back, sparks flying out from Diend as he's pushed back slightly.
''Kaito, this isn't the time for you to be a damn thief!'' Decade-Faiz calls out seriously at the thief. Diend staggers, brushing off the damage he took and letting out an out-burst of fury. ''No one tells me what I do, especially not you!''
Decade-Faiz just stares at him, surprised by that reaction. Did he actually tickle a bone?
Diend breaths slightly, chuckling to Decade's unease, as he looks at Gills.
''Though I'll admit, you caring about others make you a better version to fight.'' Diend states never expecting a Destroyer would care for others. It's rather… intriguing. So intriguing that he instead takes his aim at Gills.
''Let's see how much you care.'' Diend proclaims loading a Rider card and takes aim.
''ATTACK RIDE! DIEND BLAST!'' The Diendriver announces firing its multiple energy shots at Gills. Decade-Faiz responds fast, getting in the way as the Auto Vajin also intercepts both, tanking the shots for Gills.
''You'll have to try harder than that Kaito.'' Decade-Faiz declares wiping his hands as if mocking him. Diend stays silent as he pulls out another rider card and loads it into his blaster.
''ATTACK RIDE!'' The Diendriver announces as Diend's summoned riders take aim for their signature attacks. ''CROSSATTACK!''
Decade-Faiz scoffs taunting his attack, flicking his fingers forward. ''Bring it-''
Suddenly Decade-Faiz's transformation is undone to Tsukasa's surprise, turning to see it was Gills who literally pulled off the belt.
''… What the hell?'' Tsukasa just utters with everyone, even Diend slightly, who are shocked. Delta's energy drill connects to Tsukasa's chest, making him unable to move as Delta and Drake unleash their signature attacks at him.
''TSUKASA-KUN!'' Natsumi screams of terror. Reacting to this, Yusuke leaps forward as he manifests his belt shouting. ''HENSHIN!''
He transforms into Kuuga as he leaps in between to take on the impact of the two rider attacks. Absol barks leaping in as the two rider attacks connect and creates a massive explosion. Natsumi braces herself with Dragonic guarding her.
''YUSUKE!'' Natsumi yells out terrified that the two- no, please no.
Author's Note: Time to clarify things:
1) You know the drill, the two-parter episode on Agito for the Decade TV Series in this chapter has a few changes with 1 of them being a big deal HMM.
2) So I did not do side content of what Yusuke was up to… I find no point. I will say Yusuke was trying to become G3-X's user, Kaito was also competing and got the position but he did it to steal G4's chip… which was destroyed. Basically not important for the plot.
3) Another big change is Yusuke instead of wanting to remain in the World of Agito to be with the girl that is basically the same person to his Detective crush is trying to help her find the man she fell for or at least put some closure.
