This is Chapter 10 of the Decade Side Story for DKR. Please enjoy it like a fan for Kamen Rider and for Dragon Knight Reborn. Please enjoy!
Chapter 10: World of Frame
''Welcome to the World of Kabuto!'' Dragonic declares proudly to Tsukasa who notices he's wearing a black military-like outfit. The dragon also notices it and states in a snarky tone. ''Military much?''
''ZECTrooper actually.'' Tsukasa corrects him, noticing the ZECT logo. From what the Decadriver informed him, ZECT is the military force to stop the Worms. To be a part of this organization may be the first clue Tsukasa needs to solve this world's problems.
He prepares to leave the studio as he calls out to Natsumi of his departure. ''Natsumikan, I'll be back soon.''
''I NEED HELP WITH THE PHOTOS!'' Natsumi yells out as a bunch of customers want their photos taken care of and others want coffee with their meal. Tsukasa shrugs his shoulders advising her loudly as he leaves. ''ASK YUSUKE!''
''Huh?!'' Yusuke utters out reading a book before he's then dragged off by an overworked Natsumi.
Tsukasa takes a photo of his surroundings on this new world with Dragonic resting on his shoulder. The young man raises an eyebrow turning to see the dragon smirking at him.
''What?'' Tsukasa questions him as the dragon says honestly, still smirking. ''You seem happy.''
Tsukasa oddly smirks as he responds. ''Happy? I am a rather positive person.''
Dragonic hums not believing him. Since becoming Decade, he can tell he has changed or rather he's become happier. Like Tsukasa said in the World of Agito; he enjoys being Decade. The dragon just smirks seeing someone enjoy what they love as he adjusts his fedora downward.
Just then a military vehicle arrives with Tsukasa stating as he puts on his helmet. ''My ride's here.''
Dragonic nods flying off his shoulder, watching as the vehicle heads into a building that is being attacked by a Worm. Tsukasa plays along; firing with the other soldiers at the Worms until both Kamen Rider TheBee and Gatack engage the Worms until a Clock Up Kabuto suddenly appears and destroys them with ease. TheBee, however, ordered the men to shoot at him but he vanished.
Tsukasa blinks not following until one of the soldiers mentioned that Kabuto is a criminal to ZECT and must be eliminated.
''So Kabuto is treated as Public Enemy #1.'' He mutters getting the gist of this world's problem. Kabuto is being framed seemingly and he needs to uncover the real truth before it's too late. ''Now I get the gist of the situation.''
Tsukasa then decides he'll get back to the studio, going to need an afternoon meal and coffee before he starts his investigation. Gatack's user overhears Tsukasa talking about going back to the café and asks if he could come too, needing a good cup of coffee. Tsukasa smirks and allows it.
The two headed back together to Hikari Studio.
When they arrived, the ZECT rider got a call to return back to base. He sighs, apologizing as he had to return.
Tsukasa watches him leave as Dragonic suddenly lands on his head and declares smiling, hungry for rice and meat. ''We're back!''
Natsumi approaches the two, greeting the dragon. ''What took you so long Dragonic?''
Dragonic raises an eyebrow not following. Natsumi then eyes Tsukasa and she widens her eyes. Tsukasa notices her freakout expression and mutters out confused. ''What?''
''…'' Silently, Natsumi points to a customer being attended by… Tsukasa?!
Tsukasa sees himself and oddly smirks.
''Well-well-well.'' He utters, going to have some fun today though he needs to change. ''One moment.''
He runs upstairs with Natsumi still staggered by what is even going on. Dragonic gladly explains that a Worm, the monsters of this world, must have spotted Tsukasa to copy his appearance. Natsumi drops her mouth. ''THEY CAN DO THAT?!''
Dragonic nods at this situation- nay; he already knows who the real Tsukasa is by his aura alone. Nothing to worry about!
Tsukasa, now wearing the same dark magenta colored shirt and black vest with pants as his fake, smirks as he stares at his fake while the fake also looks back both sitting on the same chair resting near the same table.
''Just like looking a mirror.'' One Tsukasa says as the other compliments the other. ''Except a lot more handsome.''
Natsumi sweat drops heavily yelling out intensely. ''WHY IS HE WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES AS THE FAKER!''
Even Yusuke finds that Tsukasa really does enjoy his own image a bit too much.
''Could it be that the Tsukasa you were with is the Worm?'' Natsumi then asks Dragonic if possibly the Tsukasa he was with was the Worm but then that meant… but… AH. Natsumi sighs, not getting it.
''HMM…'' Dragonic hums, aware who the real Tsukasa is but he wants to see how Natsumi will solve this. Playing along, the dragon eyes Absol and grins ordering her. ''Absol, sniff out and bite the real Tsukasa!''
''Absol!'' Absol barks grinning which causes both Tsukasa to stagger. ''Wait what?''
Absol pounces and takes a bite on both.
''GAAAH!'' Both Tsukasa screams horrified, each bitten on the right leg. They groan in agony rubbing their legs. Absol blinks surprised that they're acting like the real one is doing.
''Huh? Absol overdid it.'' Yusuke says the obvious. They are back to square one. However, Natsumi isn't beaten yet, lifting up both her right and left thumbs.
''Leave it to me!'' She declares walking up to the two Tsukasa, standing between both who were still rubbing their bitten legs.
''Tsukasa-kun?'' She asks the one on the right and jabs that thumb into his neck. It connects, performing the Hikari's Laughing Pressure Point. Immediately, that Tsukasa starts laughing loudly. ''HAHAHA!''
Natsumi sighs at first but she still has another. She turns to her left and asks the same question. ''Tsukasa-kun?''
She jabs that thumb into that Tsukasa's neck.
''Waahhhhh…'' The other Tsukasa however wails in sadness. This shocks Natsumi, muttering puzzled. ''He's crying?''
''Fake.'' Dragonic states with a smug smirk. The fake Tsukasa panics and runs for it. The real Tsukasa sighs, standing up, relaxing and follows his fake calmly. Natsumi sweat drops following right behind him as did Dragonic.
The fake ran outside into a park, thinking he escaped them until he's confronted by the trio.
''And where are you going, handsome?'' Tsukasa taunts his faker with a smirk. The fake eyes the three and soon smirks asking him to confuse the other. ''And what do you intend to do to me? What if I'm the real you?''
''I'll prove it.'' Tsukasa announces with a smug calm confidence on his face as he pulls out the Decade card, facing his doppelganger, with the Decadriver already on. He taps on the edge of the card twice with his index finger, declaring calmly. ''Henshin.''
He slides the card in the belt as it glows as Tsukasa pushes its handles forward.
''KAMEN RIDE! DECADE!'' The Decadriver announces as it transforms Tsukasa into Decade. Natsumi is more than convinced that's her Tsukasa.
The fake Tsukasa begins snickering, walking up to Decade. He taps his chest taunting the rider with an evil yet stupid taunting face. ''I bet you can't hit yourself.''
Decade remains silent for a moment until he quickly raises and smacks the fake across the top of his head, stunning the face before he swings a fist with the same across. The fake Tsukasa gasps in pain smacked backwards, rolling down the small pavement hill.
Natsumi had her hand covering her mouth surprised Tsukasa is not afraid to hit himself, well his fake self but yea.
Dragonic, however, grins holding a camera he pulled out before Tsukasa transformed.
The fake Tsukasa breathes heavily on the ground, yelling out at the real one. ''I'LL REMEMBER THIS!''
''I will too!'' Dragonic says, having recorded the moment with his camera.
The fake Tsukasa yells transforming into his Worm form and runs away with great unseen speed. Decade and Dragonic could keep up where it was going, right towards a black shoulder length girl until the Worm is suddenly slash and destroyed by a red blur. Natsumi could oddly see that and just utter out in shock. ''W-what was that?!''
''Kabuto.'' Decade comments as he changes back to Tsukasa, adjusting his vest. Natsumi blinks awkwardly, asking him. ''How could you see that blur?''
Tsukasa isn't so sure himself but he explains his theory. ''It seems in the World of Kabuto, I can see those in Clock Up but not to the point that I could react or keep up with them by much.''
Dragonic nods firmly not needing to explain it too; Tsukasa already did it perfectly.
Natsumi sweat drops not getting it much. She does turn to see the young woman the monster was going after seemingly.
''The Worm was going to attack that girl.'' She says though puzzled. ''Why?''
Tsukasa thinks about it but this could be the clue he needed since Kabuto was seemingly close by to protect that quickly. He smirks while ordering Natsumi. ''Natsumikan, I'm going to need your help.''
''Really?!'' Natsumi asks rather excitedly, thinking Tsukasa really needs her and values her help.
Planned by Tsukasa, they ambushed the girl called Mayu that she won a grand prize of a free photo shoot in Hikari Studio. The girl fell for it easily… though Natsumi is not happy as she's just the other girl to be part of the photo shoot… with Tsukasa being the photographer.
''Damn it Tsukasa-kun!'' Natsumi curses in her head, stomping her foot that Tsukasa is basically using her to just reach this girl. She groans admitting it's not a bad idea but hates the method.
Still this helps Natsumi get close to the girl who seemingly looks shy but friendly.
''So um tell me about yourself Mayu-san.'' Natsumi asks her, who is blushing still shy about it. ''Um well if you want to.''
Natsumi nods, frowning a bit uneasy but willingly to tell her about her parent's car crash and even her grandfather's passing. Mayu startles surprised and frowns apologizing. ''I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather.''
''… It's been almost two months but at least I'm not alone.'' Natsumi says, still looking sad, missing him. Tsukasa overhears this astonished Natsumi's grandfather, the man who created both the Decadriver and Diendriver, died before he got to meet him… and puzzled since he arrived in Natsumi's world almost at the same time. He's surprised she never mentioned it until now.
''I feel the same if not for my grandmother.'' Mayu admits the same, finally expressing that she too lost her older brother and reveals who killed him; Kabuto. This shocks Natsumi and Tsukasa.
''Your brother was killed by Kabuto?'' Tsukasa questions her, finding this very interesting. Mayu nods, being there when her brother had left in a hurry and trying to follow him, she saw him seemingly killed by the hands of that rider.
''I saw it with my own eyes. I just…'' Mayu says before looking down, sad but upset. ''I don't understand why he did it.''
Tsukasa hums to himself, more curious. Why would Kabuto kill Miyu's brother if he seems to be focused on killing Worms and protecting her? Could this connect to ZECT's manhunt on the rider?
He eyes Mayu and asks her. ''Tell me more about your brother.''
Mayu blinks but smiles that strangers she just met are willingly to hear her out. She nods though she asks them in return. ''Sure but could you come along? I need to get back to my grandmother.''
''Of course.'' Natsumi agrees, smiling. Mayu smiles happily as she walks up ahead.
The two, and Dragonic secretly as did Absol, follow Mayu who takes them to an Oden Shop, Heaven House.
''Oden Shop! I want rice!'' Dragonic expresses excitedly flying behind the pair. Tsukasa and Natsumi both sweat drop, finding it every day off-putting that a literal talking dragon enjoys rice more than meat.
The two were then treated by Mayu's grandmother on one of her famous dishes. The two accepted as they got more information on Mayu's brother, Soji. The elderly woman wasn't upset about her grandchild's death, almost like she knew more than they knew and didn't buy that someone like Kabuto would have killed him.
''So you don't think Kabuto killed your grandchild?'' Natsumi asks, surprised she would rule out such a possibility. The elderly woman nods as she puts it in a Zen-like phrasing. ''Wise men don't judge, they seek to understand.''
Natsumi sweat drops, not getting it while Tsukasa understood it well. There is more to Kabuto killing Mayu's brother than there seems to be. A mystery he intends to solve, and the only way is to confront and talk to Kabuto. Besides, Tsukasa has a plan to keep up with him, somewhat.
''Wisdom and a good cook, nice.'' He praises the elderly woman as he faces Natsumi and tells her. ''Natsumi, we're heading back.''
Natsumi blinks, surprised he wants to head back but that means Tsukasa has a plan likely.
''See you later Mayu-san!'' Natsumi bids her farewell to Mayu as she and Tsukasa leave. Mayu waves her goodbye until her grandmother gives her a bag for some leftovers for her friends. She gasps, calling them out as she chases after them. ''Wait, grandma prepped these for-''
But as she reaches the two, a Worm suddenly appears and attacks them if not for Tsukasa to grab the bag and slams it onto his face.
''Another Worm!'' Natsumi yells out in surprise as the monster comes to attack them again but then Absol leaps out of the shadow and repels the Worm with Night Slash.
''Absol!'' The mon barks protecting the group. Natsumi sighs of relief, petting Absol as she blushes. "Good girl!"
''Natsumi, take Mayu away.'' Tsukasa tells her going to handle this pest. Natsumi nods as she and Absol take Mayu away from the Worm.
Now alone, Tsukasa gazes at the Worm and smirks confident strapping on the Decadriver and holds up the Decade card.
''Henshin.'' He declares sliding the card into the belt and pushes his handle.
''KAMEN RIDE! DECADE!'' The Decadriver announces as Tsukasa wipes his hands together and transforms into Decade. He comes at the Worm with a punch but it dodges him with unseen speed. Decade gets annoyed as the Worm comes charging and he dodges out of the way just barely.
''Fast bug.'' Decade commentates as he pulls out the Kuuga Rider Card. ''Let's try this.''
He dunks it into the Decadriver, pushing one of its handles forward and announces. ''KAMEN RIDE! KUUGA!''
Decade transforms into Kuuga as he slides in another card, pushing the other handle of his belt too.
''FORM RIDE! KUUGA PEGASUS!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade-Kuuga changes into the green, arrow gun weapon form. The Worm runs superfast at the rider but Decade could see him move through Kuuga Pegasus' precise accuracy, striking a precise kick on the monster that it thrusts him upward. He quickly tosses a card into the belt, pushing its handles
''FINAL ATTACK RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade-Kuuga takes aim with the gun at the Worm still in the air, pulling down from its bottom arrow end and fires it. ''KUUGA!''
The arrow shoots out from the gun and pierces through the Worm, exploding and destroyed in midair. Decade-Kuuga twirls his gun declaring. ''That went easier than-''
However he is immediately interrupted by multiple energy shots, striking on the rider who's flying backwards.
''GAAH!'' Decade shouts sparks still flying as he crashes onto the ground, reverted out of the Kuuga form. He grunts dropping but gets on a knee to see both Kamen Rider TheBee and Gatack along with multiple ZECT riders.
''So you are Decade, the so-called devil.'' TheBee proclaims, very ominous. Decade stands up wiping off the damage he took and states in a snarky voice. ''Let me guess, you want to kill me.''
TheBee simply points his arm at Decade as the ZECT riders take aim with their weapons. Gatack didn't like this but he obeys.
''Well today is a good timing.'' Decade proclaims pulling out the Den-O rider card and taps on the edge of his card twice, thrusting it into his belt and pushing its handles.
''KAMEN RIDE! DEN-O!'' The Decadriver announces transforming into Den-O. Wiping his hands, he pulls out a card and dunks it in his belt.
''ATTACK RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as he pushes its handles to activate its powers. ''ORE SANJOU!''
Decade-Den-O takes on Sword Form/Momotaros's signature body pose.
''…'' Everyone is left stunned by the ridiculous pose the so-called devil rider was making. Decade literally sweat drops behind the back of his helmet as Dragonic floats, chuckling nervously as he asks him. ''Cosplaying Momotarus much?''
Decade groans, taking on his regular stance and pulls out the other Rider cards, realizing each one was one of their ridiculous poses. Just… why?
''… Screw this!'' Decade-Den-O proclaims summoning the sword-based DenGasher and comes charging. The ZECT riders panic, firing at him but Decade slashes down the attacks with ease before slashing them down. Others try to attack his back as Decade-Den-O dunks a card from his belt.
''FORM RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade-Den-O changes into Rod form. ''ROD FORM!''
The DenGasher becomes a rod as he twirls the staff and spins, striking the enemies behind his back with ease. TheBee groans as Decade strikes down the remaining soldiers. He gazes at Gatack to attack him. Gatack obeys.
Gatack comes charging at Decade who without looking to face him thrusts a Rider card into the card inserter of his belt.
''FORM RIDE!'' The Decadriver proclaims as he intercepts Gatack's attack with the transformed ax form DenGasher, now in Den-O Ax Form. ''AX FORM!''
The two clash weapons as Decade swings at each parry only for Gatack to dodge around but he shoulder bashes him onto a wall. Decade-Den-O distances himself pulling out a card and thrusts it in.
''FORM RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade-Den-O changes into the purple gun form. ''GUN FORM!''
He wields both the gun form DenGasher and Ride Booker gun form, blasting TheBee who dodges around his attacks with Clock Up. He dashes as does Gatack, double teaming Decade who tries dodging them oddly break dancing. He backs away fast, going to need more power to beat them.
''Time to take things serious.'' Decade proclaims as he pulls out a Super Form Ride card and dunks it into the belt.
''SUPER FORM RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade-Den-O claps his hands, transforming into Den-O's super form. ''DEN-O CLIMAX FORM!''
TheBee and Gatack are surprised as Decade-Den-O comes charging and proceeds to slash them with the Ride Booker sword form, following into a massive gut punch and kick at both opposing riders, sending them flying back.
Decade-Den-O then proceeds doing a hand taunt, challenging Gatack and TheBee to come at him. Both riders, panting from the damage they just took, come at him only for Decade-Den-O to open up the mouthpiece of his rider mask like a dragon's maw and it fires homing missiles at both riders.
''Ah cool, you can do that!'' Dragonic praises surprised Tsukasa could do that. Decade is also shocked too though he explicates unease. ''I wish I never did. But it worked.''
Decade comes walking up at TheBee as he pulls out the Final Attack Ride card and flicks it into the belt.
''FINAL ATTACK RIDE!'' The Decadriver proclaims as Climax Form changes into Punching Mode. TheBee comes at hand as Decade extends back his right fist and as the rider is in his range, thrusts it forward. ''DEN-O!''
Gatack sees this and quickly uses Clock Up to get in between the two. Decade pauses, stopping his attack in front of Gatack, not wanting to kill him. However TheBee then delivers a powerful kick at Decade, sending him flying right through the ground.
Decade-Den-O reverts back to regular Decade rolling on an underground zone. He rolls but quickly pulls himself up. Both opposing riders come down but then Gatack gets in TheBee's way.
''What are you doing?'' TheBee questions him, annoyed for Gatack to explain his reasons. ''He's not our enemy. What's the point of-''
Just then bullet shots hit both riders, mostly Gatack sending him backwards. Decade turns to his left and sees it was Diend, twirling his gun.
''Kaito.'' Decade utters with Diend facing him and says waving carefree. ''Don't thank me Tsukasa-san. I just want Gatack's powers.''
Decade scoffs letting him for once. ''Be my guest.''
Diend salutes dashing right up to a stun Gatack and kicks him away, wanting him all to himself.
Decade now faces TheBee but there in the background he sees Mayu being tracked by Worms.
''Mayu, what the hell is she-'' Decade utters puzzled why she's here but then gets smacked hard by TheBee, forcing his attention onto the enemy before he could reach Mayu.
''You can't Clock Up. You are no match for me.'' TheBee taunts Decade as he can't hope to beat him no less trick him like he did with Gatack. Already aware of that, Decade did have a Plan A in case all else fails.
''Oh really?'' Decade questions him pulling out the Faiz Rider card, tossing it into the Decadriver. ''That might not be so.''
''KAMEN RIDE! FAIZ!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade's limbs glow in a red lining before he transforms into Faiz. He wipes his hands together before pulling out another card from the Ride Booker.
''I'll accompany you… for 10 seconds at least.'' Decade promises tossing the card into his belt, pushing its handles.
''SUPER FORM RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as the chest plate of Decade-Faiz opens up revealing the circuit components of Faiz and transforms him into the black-red form. ''FAIZ AXEL!''
Dragonic watches and smirks praising his quick thinking. ''Clever as always Tsukasa-kun. Riders with similar high speed movement ability can access Clock Up if a Rider use Clock Up but temporary.''
''Exactly my plan.'' Decade declares cocky, pointing at TheBee. He raises his right hand to his left arm showing a strange red strap watch as he presses the red button. Numbers digitized as it declares. ''START UP!''
Decade-Faiz takes on a running pose as the watch countdowns from 99. He immediately charges as did TheBee, the two clashing in high speed combat as multiple pillars begin getting shattered, smash or break through from their high speed movement. Only Dragonic was able to watch this whistling. He watches as the two riders are fighting within the debris of the slow motion world around them.
However, Decade is distracted as a few Worms have surrounded Mayu.
''Mayu!'' He shouts, kicking TheBee onto a pillar and runs to save her.
''Don't run!'' TheBee demands firing wasp-like bullets from his Zecter towards him but even his stingers would hit Mayu. Decade didn't have time to react to this attack but Dragonic did, appearing behind Decade and slashing all the stinger bullets with the swipe of his claws with such speed.
''Tsukasa-kun, finish him off now!'' The dragon orders him loudly in slow motion time. Decade staggers and tries to protest but Dragonic just yells at him. ''Do it! He has it cover!''
Decade-Faiz didn't understand but then sees the blur of Kabuto coming in to save Mayu. He gets it and nods, turning back at TheBee and dunks the Final Attack Card into the belt.
''FINAL ATTACK RIDE!'' The Decadriver proclaims as Decade-Faiz pushes its handles and comes charging at TheBee as he wields the Ride Booker in sword form, its blade glowing red. He dashes at full speed as he swings his blade, firing a red energy drill that connects and stuns TheBee as he tries guarding with his arms. Decade-Faiz leaps forward performing a Rider Kick and dashing through the drill as he becomes energy going through TheBee. ''FAIZ!''
Decade-Faiz reappears behind TheBee stun at first before gasping in pain, sparks erupting out of him. Sparks fly out heavily on TheBee, especially his Zecter, dropping to his knees. Decade-Faiz swipes his sword as he turns around to see Kabuto having already disposed of the Worms.
''That's-'' Decade begins to utter out until the Axel Form ends with the stopwatch announcing. ''TIME OUT!''
Axel Form ends as Decade-Faiz is immediately reverts back to normal Tsukasa, watching the red rider turn to face him. Tsukasa eyes him calmly about to talk to him until TheBee suddenly comes charging at Kabuto.
''KABUTO!'' TheBee shouts, thrusting his Zecter stinger at Kabuto but he moves so much faster, easily engaging him before slashing his kunai-like weapon at his Zecter. TheBee's Zecter cracks and explodes as it de-transforms its user back to normal with the Zecter destroyed.
''Nice job!'' Dragonic praises with a smirk. Tsukasa agrees until Mayu widens her eyes, uttering out. ''Nii-san.''
This shocks the two eyeing TheBee's user.
''Nii-san?'' Tsukasa questions, confused. What the hell is going on?
Author's Note: Time to clarify things:
1) You know the cue; this chapter is based on the 2 part Kabuto episode of Decade with changes of course.
2) Two for One Super Form Riders for obvious reasons plus give Den-O some love, at the least.
3) Also this has been a topic ever since this episode that Faiz Axel can keep up with a Kabuto Rider using Clock Up. Many-MANY have stated that this couldn't be possible. That Faiz Axel would move WAY too slow compared to Clock Up while others say Clock Up is not Speed of Light or other reasons. For me, a Rider with similar speed ability like Faiz Axel and Kamen Rider Mach can keep up with users of Clock Up if Clock Up is activated. I would say Decade can keep up with any Rider in Clock Up since he could partly see a Rider in Clock Up state but Takumi… yea. Let's just use this theory like other speedsters who fight speedsters with the Speed Force could access the Speed Force too.
So welcome back everyone. It's 2022... sigh, I hate this era a lot. Just kill the virus please. No more please.
