Disclaimer: This story is a Side Story to Yu-Gi-Oh! Dragon Knight Reborn! I do not own Kamen Rider Decade or any Kamen Rider Series. Characters may be SLIGHTLY OOC due to the story and events. I do own an OC in this story but I will not say who yet.
This is Chapter 16 of the Decade Side Story for DKR. Please enjoy it like a fan for Kamen Rider and for Dragon Knight Reborn.
Chapter 16: The Death of the Journey
Natsumi watches in complete shock. Tsukasa and the others just defeated the 9 riders as Narutaki appeared and Diend betrayed them. Tsukasa was a step ahead… except he did not expect Absol's betrayal as she attacked him. She had attack him with one of her attacks and Natsumi thought that he-
''I'm okay!'' Natsumi snaps out as she watches as a figure comes out from the smoke. Emerging is Tsukasa, coughing heavily. Dragonic sighs having made it on time. Quickly acting on those moments, Dragonic fired a quick unseen fireball to block and exploded Absol's Night Slash; pushing Tsukasa back just enough to avoid taking the fierce killing blow.
Natsumi, breathing relaxed that Tsukasa is okay, is still dismayed towards Absol. She eyes the mon who still had this face of guilt.
''Absol-chan, why?'' Natsumi asks the mon who refuses to look at her directly, almost frightened to stare at her.
Tsukasa walks wobbly towards Natsumi and then stops. He realizes it now, gazing coldly at Diend.
''Don't tell me, you and the mutt-'' Tsukasa begins to conclude the two had been working together but before he could, Diend dashes towards Tsukasa instantly and punches him across the gut. Tsukasa gasps out in agony as Diend snatches the Ride Booker off Tsukasa's possession before smacking him across the face, slamming him hard onto the ground. Natsumi and the still dazed Yusuke rush over to his aid, helping pull Tsukasa back up.
As they help Tsukasa up, Diend takes what he wanted from the Ride Booker; the 9 Rider Cards. Once having them, Diend throws back the Ride Booker in front of Tsukasa as he walks up to Narutaki with the cards in his possession. He holds them in front of the man, handing them over while saying. ''As promise.''
Narutaki smirks, taking them as he looks at the 9 Heisei Rider Cards. Finally, to think he needed ''Decade's'' help to get them but it finally pays off.
Natsumi looks up in shock and questions the cyan colored rider of his betrayal. ''Why Daiki-kun?''
Diend doesn't answer her but Tsukasa figures it out. Standing back up, still a bit shaken, Tsukasa questions her. ''Don't you get it, Natsumikan?''
Natsumi turns eyeing him as Tsukasa reveals pointing at the two enemies. ''Kaito and Narutaki have been working together from the start.''
Diend chuckles at that statement and finally answers with a slow clap. ''Bingo! I knew you would notice it, Tsukasa-san.''
Natsumi startles looking back at him in shock after helping Tsukasa-kun, fighting beside him and he does this to him. She shakes her head, not believing this before she demands him to be upset. ''Then why?!''
Diend stares at her and cracks a small chuckle before answering her. ''Personal reasons.''
''Then the mutt is yours?'' Tsukasa questions him firmly. Diend eyes him and instead reveals. ''Not exactly. She came with me after her world was destroyed.''
This surprises the group with Dragonic acting the calmest. Diend eyes Absol, looking guilty even though she shouldn't.
''She just wants to prevent another disaster we both experience, so we made a deal.'' He explains the mon's reasons for betraying them as he stares at Tsukasa.
Natsumi just has a betrayed face all over her face. After everything, she thought Absol was trying to find a home but it wasn't; she was just waiting to hurt Tsukasa for good.
Absol looks at her grief and just frowns. She feels... wrong, like she hasn't only betray Natsumi but even the man she views as her enemy. But... he wasn't like that other man and... it feels wrong to her. She mad a horrible mistake, frowning sadder.
''You two…'' Dragonic mutters, starting to get some idea what might have happened to them. Without a doubt it has to be someone capable of destroying worlds. He only knows of one individual but it couldn't be his doing; he wouldn't spare someone without showing them despair. No, it has to be someone else and how they view Tsukasa, then it's possible that-
''Hey Kaito!'' Dragonic's train of thought is distracted as he turns towards Tsukasa. Diend watches confused until Tsukasa pulls out the Decade card out of the Decadriver, twirling it to mess with him with a smug smirk. ''You missed one.''
Diend seemingly stays silent before he begins chuckling. He sighs, shrugging his shoulders, responding. ''Guess I did.''
''Unimportant.'' Narutaki protests as he pulls out something from his coat. Tsukasa watches and startles to see he pulls out a partly torn off, damaged Decade card. So that was his from a long time ago.
Narutaki eyes his card with disgust before adding it among the other rider cards.
''I have all I need.'' He declares proudly with Tsukasa scoffing unimpressed before asking curious. ''And what do you intend to do with my Rider Cards.''
Chuckling deeply, Narutaki soon answers him with a small, evil smirk. ''Allow me to show you, Decade.''
The cards soon fly out of his possession and float around in a round circle, inches away from each but circling him. Narutaki starts laughing as dark energy starts coating his body. He continues laughing as his waist glows and soon all the cards enter his body into the center of his chest.
The group watches as swirls of mini twisters surround him while the sky darkens.
''W-What the…'' Yusuke mutters out, sounding terrified by what is even going on. The twister covers Narutaki from everyone's view but he's changing rapidly, becoming something else. Lightning strikes down around the twister as Tsukasa could feel the whole fabric of reality breaking down.
There they see a pair of dark magenta colored eyes within the twister and a strong roar not only stops the lightning but also the twister. They brace themselves while Diend being the closest is pushed back harder.
What they all watch emerge from the dissolving twister is Narutaki, fully transformed into a Frankenstein-like monster of different monsters. It has the feet and legs of between a Worm and Mirror Monster, the claws that resembles a fusion between a Orphnoch and a Fangire, the arms of between an Unknown and Undead, the chest of between a Unknown, Mirror, Demon and Worm,a dark magenta colored scarf of a Demon with spikes resembling a Orphnoch, quadruple wings of between a Worm and Fangire, and a face that is a mix of Grongi, Orphnoch, Undead, Imagin and Fangire.
Natsumi widens her eyes horrified, spotting a distorted, nearly broken down version of the Decadriver around his waist but more organic and monster-like.
Yusuke did not expect as didn't Tsukasa glaring calmly.
Soon the abomination begins to stare at itself and starts laughing, showing its monster-like mouth filled with fangs. Even its laughter is inhumane.
''Hahaha! Do you like my new potential? My new power!'' The voice of Narutaki, distorted, speaks through the monster. He could feel the powers of all the monsters connected to that rider card. He feels strong, more powerful than he has been. Yes, he's become what he wanted; a being that will destroy Decade, the one that will end the Rider Worlds. He is the 10th World's Monster; the combination of all previous monsters
''I am now… EDACED!'' He proclaims proudly, laughing with such power. Natsumi trembles watching, really hoping this is all a dream.
Clapping his hands, the newly born Edaced looks menacingly towards Tsukasa who smirks.
''Oh aren't you clever, Narutaki.'' Tsukasa taunts the transformed super monster as he then adds with a firm face. ''But I won't waver by this new form. I'll destroy it and beat you.''
Edaced breathes heavily like a monster. Tsukasa glares, going to beat him as Dragonic flies beside him, proclaiming with determination. ''Tsukasa-kun, this time I'm going to help you.''
Tsukasa just scoffs at that and states. ''That's a first, Dragonic.''
''Good because I'm serious.'' The dragon responds seriously, gazing his eyes at Narutaki. ''I won't let this madman destroy this multiverse.''
Edaced breathes angrily at the dragon, fully aware he will become a major threat to his plans now.
''My apologies dragon but my fight does not involve you.'' He proclaims raising his hand and immediately an Aurora Curtain manifests behind the dragon and swallows him up instantly to everyone else's shock.
''Dragonic-kun!'' Natsumi yells out, alarmed that he's gone.
Dragonic blinks as he is teleported in space. Worst of all, he finds himself being sucked into a black hole.
''Of course…'' The dragon mutters as he's sucked up immediately by the gravity, light absorption pull of the black hole. He can only hope Tsukasa will be fine until he can escape this.
Tsukasa shows a face of concern, really counting for backup for once.
Edaced laughs amuse, now staring at the foolish destroyer.
''Now it's just between you and me…'' He begins to proclaim before he chuckles and instead instructs Diend. ''Is what I would say. Diend, kill Decade.''
Tsukasa glares facing Diend who looks back and just shrugs his shoulders, uttering out. ''Meh.''
''What?'' Edaced mutters angrily turning to face the rider. Diend looks at him and repeats himself carefree. ''I think we made a deal. No killing Tsukasa-san. You've already got what you wanted.''
Tsukasa scoffs surprised even after betraying him, Kaito thinks they're still "allies".
''Now if you don't mind me, I'm taking them away so you can destroy this multiverse.'' Diend finishes their discussion as he walks towards Tsukasa and the others. Edaced, at first angry, then suddenly begins chuckling to Diend's confusion.
''You misunderstand Daiki Kaito.'' The monster that was Narutaki begins to explain as the rider turns to face him. ''I will spare Decade by ending his life, here and now. Along with all riders, including you.''
Diend just stands staring at him and if not for his mask, Kaito would be glaring pissed.
''Oh wow, you tricked Kaito. How unexpected?'' Tsukasa tells him off, slightly happy he got what he deserved. Diend scoffs not commenting. Tsukasa smirks as he walks forward towards the fused monster, still holding on to his Decade card.
''And what do you intend to do with just one Rider card.'' Edaced calls him off unimpressed. Tsukasa looks at his Decade card, having been through a lot with this power and even if it's the one card he can transform into then he won't make any regrets.
''I have plenty of power from this one card as well as the bonds and sacrifices of each rider.'' Tsukasa begins to say reminded of all the riders he fought through and overcame. He then adds for those watching his back. ''And Natsumi's believe in me and Yusuke's smile, I won't fail.''
He holds his card and taps it twice before tossing it into his belt.
''KAMEN RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as Tsukasa declares, pushing its handles with both hands. ''Show me how strong you really are Narutaki! Henshin!''
''DECADE!'' The Decadriver declares as Tsukasa, while wiping his hands together, transforms into Decade. Edaced lets out a deep growl as he declares menacingly, releasing waves of energy across his body. ''Then let this be your grave, Decade!''
Everyone is nearly pushed back by the waves with Yusuke catching Natsumi. She still watches, trembling towards Decade still standing his ground.
''What the hell is he?!'' Diend tells himself mentally, not expecting such power. Decade's arms glow and he swings them forward, shattering the wave as he pulls his Ride Booker in gun mode and slides a card into his belt.
''ATTACK RIDE! BLAST!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade immediately fires multiple energy shots but Narutaki takes flight and moves around with crazy speed evading the blasts. Decade continues firing more but his target is moving with a speed faster than an Orphnoch and Worm.
The Frankenstein monster swoops down at him but Decade dunks a card as he gets close.
''ATTACK RIDE! CLOCK UP!'' The Decadriver announces as Edaced swings his claws but hits the air. Immediately he gets punched across the face by Decade, moving through Clock Up. The monster is stopped on his tracks as Decade swings a strong barrage of punches while he moves rapidly to the other side of the monster and swings a kick only for said kick to get caught by Edaced's hand claw.
This shocks Decade partly as the monster utters out. ''So you can use Clock Up even if you're not Kabuto. But it is weaker compare to mines!''
He begins slamming and trashing Decade onto the ground, over and over like a ragdoll. Natsumi panics until Decade quickly switches his weapon to sword form and slashes off the arm holding him. He falls but rolls away quickly to get back up immediately. He pants watching to his surprise as Narutaki regrows a new arm.
''Okay…'' Decade mutters to himself, getting the idea that he'll need to cut this thing up into pieces. He dunks a card into his belt as he charges forward.
''ATTACK RIDE! SLASH!'' The Decadriver proclaims as Decade charges and swings as his sword glows in a magenta through the blade. However Narutaki repels the first swing with its claws. This staggers Decade who resumes swinging once more but faster. Decade finally slashes his chest but the attack didn't do anything to his hardened body.
''Is that all, Decade?!'' Edaced roars swinging downward but Decade side steps to only get tail whip by the monster's tail. Sparks fly out but Decade grinds his feet on the ground. He pants quickly sliding two more rider cards into his belt, pushing one of its handles.
''ATTACK RIDE! INVISIBLE!'' The Decadriver begins to announce as Decade turns invisible. ''ATTACK RIDE! METAL!''
Edaced looks around as he's suddenly slashed across the chest by Decade, over and over. And yet all that enhanced metal strikes did nothing to the monster. Decade swings again but then time Edaced blocks it with his forearm. This shocks Decade as the monster then thrusts that same arm so hard it hits Decade massively while sending him flying backwards. He becomes visible on the ground, grunting.
Edaced now zooms in front of Decade and kicks him so hard it launches him upward and follows with an arm strike. The hand swipe is so powerful it thrusts Decade backwards hard, rolling and dragging on the ground. Decade gets up panting as the monster taunts him. ''Is that the best you have?''
Decade watches pulling out a card as the monster fires a mouth blast at him. The rider quickly slides the card into his belt.
''ATTACK RIDE! AUTO VAJIN!'' The Decadriver announces as Faiz's Auto Vajin manifests through an Aurora Curtain that appears out of nowhere. The battle bot dashes in between the blast and tanks the attack before it explodes. Edaced watches as he then hears the Decadriver's voice. ''ATTACK RIDE! ILLUSION!''
Emerging from the smoke are two Decade copies coming at the monster. It charges at them much faster, thrusting both his claws through their chest as they were destroyed instantly.
''Meaningless!'' The monster yells out furious until he sees two more Decade clones emerging with their weapons.
''FINAL ATTACK RIDE!'' Two Decadriver voices announce as one copy takes aim with the Ride Booker gun form while the other does the same with the same weapon but in its sword form. 10 holographic cards manifest in a row in front of the two as they take aim. ''DECADE!''
The Decade with the gun mode weapon fires a powerful magenta energy shot through his cards while the other with the sword swings forward, releasing a powerful magenta energy slash.
He reaches out with his arms forward and literally catches both energy attacks with his bare palms. He easily compresses the attacks like nothing until he hears the Decadriver's voice once more. ''FINAL ATTACK RIDE!''
He watches as 10 holographic cards manifest towards him in a row from the smoke and leaping out of the smoke is Decade. The cards follow the rider as he descends at the monster in a rider kick. ''DECADE!''
Decade descends with a massive kick and strikes Edaced's chest. Sparks of magenta color fly out as Decade tries pressuring his attack but it does no damage.
''I TOLD YOU DECADE!'' Edaced proclaims thrusting both attacks right back at the copies, destroying them before flexing his chest so hard it tosses the real Decade back. ''MEANINGLESS!''
He then proceeds to fire a burst of energy at Decade, blasting him directly.
''UWAAAGH!'' Decade screams tossing the rider backwards with multiple sparks flying out of him.
''Tsukasa-kun!'' Natsumi yells out in terror as she watches the magenta rider roll onto the ground, grunting in great pain. Yusuke watches helplessly, clenching his hands tightly. He can't let Tsukasa fight this monster alone.
''I… I gotta help him.'' He proclaims needing to do something. He breathes waving his arms in a fighting pose as the Arcle belt manifests around his waist before shouting. ''Henshin!''
He comes charging slamming both his hand palms on his waist side, transforming into Kuuga. Edaced approaches the defeated Decade until he dodges a punch strike from Kuuga as he tries kicking him and he dodges it easily.
''Kuuga you may be but you lack what the real Kuuga has.'' Edaced proclaims thrusting his fist across his palm and thrusts Kuuga backwards hard. He chuckles as he forms a sphere of dark energy, declaring. ''Enjoy the Darkness.''
He throws the sphere at the stun Kuuga and hits him. Immediately Kuuga screams in agony. ''GAAAAH!''
Decade gets up watching as Kuuga becomes Ultimate form again with the black visor bug eyes and the same dark aura. Natsumi panics as Yusuke has become that form again.
''Kill Decade.'' Edaced commands as the dark Kuuga walks towards Decade menacingly, immediately charging with a kick.
''Not again.'' Decade mutters as he blocks the kick but the dark energy coursing through Kuuga slams Decade backwards while sparks fly out. Kuuga comes charging as Decade tries evading his punches until Kuuga punches his chest and sparks fly out again, thrusting him backwards again.
''Tsukasa-kun!'' Natsumi utters out in shock. She stares helpless, not able to do anything. She turns towards Absol with her worrying eyes, almost pleading to her to help them again.
''…'' Absol stares silent at her and just couldn't. Tears dripping from her eyes, Absol can't do it as she runs away as fast as possible.
Natsumi watches the mon run away, muttering of sadness. ''Absol…''
Diend watches that and resumes watching as Decade is struggling.
''HHHAAAH!'' Dark Ultimate Kuuga shouts charging forward as Decade rolls away fast. Decade just sighs not wanting to deal with this, again. He's not sure what to do but one thing, pulling out a Final Form Ride Card. He has to try something and this might be the key to beating two birds with one stone.
''Gamble it is.'' Decade mutters as Kuuga comes launching at him but Decade times it right, twirling around him as he dunks the card into his belt, pushing its handles forward.
''FINAL FORM RIDE!'' The Decadriver declares as Decade twirls to Kuuga's back and taps his back. ''KUUGA ULTIMATE GOURAM!''
Dark Ultimate Kuuga soon pauses and screams as his body starts transforming.
''This will only tickle a bit, Yusuke!'' Decade tells him as Kuuga changes into a black, golden lining robot-like Gouram form. The creature shrieks, taking flight but not before Decade rides on its back.
The berserk Gouram flies around in the sky uncontrollable but Decade tries piloting the damn thing, quickly thrusting a card into his belt.
''FINAL ATTACK RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade changes the course of the Gouram and rams downward at Narutaki. Kuuga Gouram glows rapidly in dark energy right towards the monster. Edaced fires multiple blasts at the massive beetle but did no damage as the mechanical rams onto the monster and explodes on impact ''KUUGA!''
Decade jumps away in the last second but it still blasts him backwards onto the ground followed by Kuuga, reverted back to Yusuke. The two drop hard, grunting heavily.
''Don't transform again if you plan to let that darkness to consume you, idiot.'' Decade warns him trying to pull himself up. Yusuke just gives him a thumbs up, smiling weakly. The two get up and immediately feel a burst of energy from behind them. They turn to see Edaced emerge from the explosion.
''N-no way!'' Yusuke utters out, not believing he survived that. Edaced laughs as he proclaims with his arms lifted up. ''Naïve Decade! I now wield the power of the strongest Grongi, the power of Ultimate, the power of Darkness itself!''
Swirls of darkness surround the monster as he continues in his speech. ''Not just him but every strong monster that exists! I am Edaced, the End of Existence and the Bringer of Life!''
Decade stares at him and scoffs, not impressed. This enraged the monster as his eyes glow furiously towards the rider.
''What can any of your attempts do but blow dust upon me?!'' He declares before charging at him. Decade quickly pushes Yusuke fast out of the way before Edaced strikes Decade across the chest and releases a dark explosion. Yusuke is thrusted away as the explosion slams Decade backwards, slamming himself into a mountainside.
''Tsukasa-kun!'' Natsumi screams in terror. Diend watches as he clenches his fists tightly.
Decade falls on his front, groaning once more in pain. Edaced slowly snickers until he staggers as Decade stands back up again, chuckling in pain.
''Stop resisting Decade!'' The voice of Narutaki demands him furious as his monster form is growing in power. ''You have no hope in beating me! Ever!''
Still chuckling regardless of his injuries, Decade utters out still confident. ''You talk too much for a man choosing to become a monster.''
Edaced clenches his claw fists at that statement as he responds furious. ''I choose to do this to end this pointless cycle! In every right, becoming this monster gave me the means to change fate!''
''… You really are pathetic.'' Decade then replies back, shocking the monster. ''What?''
Thinking back on his journey and the worlds he's gone; Tsukasa learned one important thing and it's that life is unfair but through willpower, one can fight unfairness.
''Conflict is life; we cannot change what can't be altered. And if we did, then it wouldn't be life. What we can do is fight the conflict and move forward!'' Decade begins to declare, having seen plenty of conflict already before becoming Decade and passing all of that; he will still keep moving forward. ''Even if the journey becomes bitter, it is worth it than losing who you were!''
''… It doesn't.'' Edaced then protests firmly. ''Conflict is pointless, like all riders that exist and their pointless fights.''
The monster growls just becoming madder and madder the more he thinks about all he's seen. The countless conflicts, all the battles; everything that riders can only create is more destruction than peace.
Scoffing at his own nonsense, Decade protests back. ''You're delusional if you think their fights were pointless. Their fights against conflict are their stories, their journeys!''
Edaced clenches his claws, hating him; hating every word he just said. "You're a damn fool. That is why the Rider worlds must be destroyed at all cost! The journey, the conflict; it only leads to despair and agony! Worthless in ever sense and that is true to ever Rider and their worlds!"
Decade stares at this thing that was once a man and could only find pity through him.
''Someone like you can't understand unfairness of anyone but your own!'' Edaced staggers by Decade's words who points his finger at him and declares. ''You're a man who refuses to see the pain and suffering of others but your own personal loss! Compare to me, the demon, the destroyer; you have no heart, no human soul to understand anyone! And compare to those riders, they have more soul than you and I put together.''
''You dare…'' Edaced begins to utter in shock, not believing this; not believing that after everything this demon thinks he's still above him. It causes him to fuel rage, of hate that Decade believes in such crap. How could he? HOW COULD THEY BE SO DIFFERENT AND YET THE SAME!
''Why? WHY?! You're a demon, you have no right to tell me I have no soul!'' He begins to protest, yelling madly, as he points angrily at him. ''You shouldn't care about them in the slightest! So why?! WHY?! WHY ARE YOU-''
And then it hit him. Narutaki begins to realize his mistake. He was trying his hardest for Decade to become what he is like he did and yet he didn't. And now he understands. Edaced slowly turns his focus towards Natsumi.
In that moment as Absol is running out of the area, she sees a vision of a disaster- No, of a death. No! She quickly turns around and runs back.
''Her…'' Edaced utters out pointing his index claw finger at her. Natsumi stares confused yet scared as the monster starts complaining enraged. ''Every time I show her your true colors, she denies it. No, she was changing you!''
Narutaki becomes angrier and madder to think he misunderstood this girl. He believed she was a victim of Decade but no it was her that made him change. Why her? How? WHAT THE HELL IS SHE?
''Decade is a demon, a destroyer, nothing more! BUT SHE! SHE!'' He starts complaining madder and louder, losing his sense of being by this revelation. ''I will show all that Decade is a monster! That he is the devil incarnate by killing her!''
Edaced comes charging at Natsumi instead, planning to kill her. Diend is staggered while Yusuke panics. Decade staggers quickly pulling out a card and dunks it into his belt.
''ATTACK RIDE! CLOCK UP!'' The Decadriver proclaims as Decade dashes forward within the slow down time to Natsumi. This only temporarily slows down Edaced who comes at her, manifesting a blade through his hand palm.
''DIE!'' The monster yells, thrusting the blade at her. Natsumi watches, unable to move as her life flashes before her before Decade gets in front of her as the blade cuts through his waist right through the rider and even the Decadriver, sparks flying out. Decade slams his feet on the ground and wraps his left arm around the arm of the monster, stopping the blade from even touching Natsumi.
''What?'' Edaced startles as Decade extends back his right arm, engulfed in magenta color energy before swinging it and punches the monster across the chest with all of his power. Sparks not just fly out from the Frankenstein monster but also Decade mainly the Decadriver as the punch sends the monster flying backwards.
''GWAAAH!'' Edaced screams sent flying into a mountainside before he explodes on impact. Natsumi watches speechless looking in front of Decade as he grunts in agony, ripping off the blade left behind from the monster out of him.
''T-Tsukasa-san…'' She mutters out shaking up. Decade turns and chuckles trying to do the thumb up until he suddenly falls backwards. Natsumi watches as the rest of the world freezes up around her. Decade drops on the ground on his back, his transformation undone as the Decadriver drops and is destroyed.
''No…'' Diend mutters out, shaking scared. Yusuke is left in shock, his face having an expression of dread.
Natsumi looks at Tsukasa, coughing up blood from his mouth and a wound on his stomach. She drops to her knees, looking down at him as she holds on to his arm.
''… Why?'' Natsumi mutters out crushed to see him like this. ''Why would you take the blow for me?!''
''… How should I know? I just moved.'' Tsukasa just responds with a smug smirk until he coughs up heavily. He tries to relax as he states rather happily for a dying man. ''Maybe with this… all can return to normal.''
''What? Return to normal?'' Natsumi questions not following. Tsukasa eyes her weakly, his light fading but he has time to tell her.
Tsukasa chokes up but breathes, revealing to her. ''I… I knew and they knew if I fought and destroyed the other riders and if I would die… then the Rider Worlds would not fall apart and they will come back to life.''
Natsumi is startled to hear that. So if the other Riders did kill Tsukasa then all of this damage would be undone? Then… Tsukasa was trying to find another way.
Tsukasa continues coughing, thinking he was doing the right thing for every step he took but he knew better; he can only create more destruction. He tries reaching up to the sky before pointing his finger with a finger gun hand pose.
''I only bring destruction; this is all I can do.'' Tsukasa utters out admitting what he is and regardless how much he tries to prove he wasn't; he fails each time. He couldn't save his sister; he couldn't handle living in this world anymore. Though he did do one thing he can gloat; saving someone who gave him the power to change his fate.
''I understand…'' He starts to say, admitting rather happily. ''That if I could save you… then… I wouldn't…''
Tsukasa then stops, narrowing his eyes, as he feels a drip of water splashing on his face. He looks to see tears dripping from Natsumi's face, coming from her eyes. She sobs heavily, watching as Tsukasa's body is glowing.
She cries heavily, blaming herself for what was happening before her and worst of all; she didn't want to lose him.
''D-don't leave me.'' She begs him, not wanting him to vanish. Tsukasa eyes her and smirks, telling her. ''You're a strong girl… Natsumi, I… I believe in you.''
His body glows more as he dissolves away. Natsumi staggers, trying to hold on to him. ''Please Tsukasa-kun!''
Sadly it was already too late as Tsukasa's body soon erupts into sparks of light, vanishing in Natsumi's arms. She sobs in silence as his camera still dangles gently on her neck.
''Tsukasa-san…'' Diend utters in dismay, shaking his hands tightly. Yusuke just stares silent, looking down and grits his teeth slamming his hands on the ground.
Natsumi has this face of no emotion but her eyes shaken in despair, her tears still not dripping. She soon reacts, closing her eyes shut. She frowns sadden holding on the magenta-pink camera still around her neck before she lets out a shrieking pain of agony, of loss, of suffering. ''TSUKASA-KUN!''
Author's Note: Time to clarify things:
1) As a greater twist, the climax of the story is based on the Decade Novel… but different for very obvious reasons... and a bit on the last Decade movie.
2) So Narutaki's true plan was to gain the 10 Rider cards to become NOT AN ONI like the novel but something rather unique. See Decade is the only rider series to not have its own monsters. It's debatable and as far as we know, the Grongi and the Unknown are two different monsters but similar-ish. Anyway, with the 10 rider cards, Narutaki becomes a mesh-mash monster that has parts and features of the 9 monsters of the 9 worlds. I'd like to call it… Edaced, the Anti Decade.
YES, I could have done Dark Decade, but nay, that's just weak that Narutaki becomes Dark Decade. Instead he becomes a monster that is also part of each monster of those rider series. So he's a Grongi, Unknown, Mirror, Orphnoch, Undead, Demon, Worm, Imagin and Fangire. And on top of his regular powers with the Aurora Curtain, Narutaki is a monster with such power and having those monsters' abilities and powers too.
FUN FACT... I saw a reddit in Reddit about Decade... just being Ben 10. I was like "NO... other than Kid Ben to an extend, he has more heart than Tsukasa" but it makes sense... and I MADE IT WORST turing Narutaki into Kevin 11 HUH?! I JUST NOTICED THAT.
3) So Kaito's reason for stealing from Tsukasa… Well let's just say something bad happened to his life in his world that may or may not connect to Tsukasa and the same happened to Absol; both agreeing to prevent Decade from being a destroyer/disaster… of course Narutaki doesn't keep his end of the deal.
4) Absol's betrayal... sort of. If your world was destroyed and it was Decade, you would blame him only to realize he was not a bad guy and well... you soon have regret for what you've done. Here's the thing... it wasn't Tsukasa who did it. Who was it? HMM... In the near future, if there is one.
5) Removing Dragonic from this fight was important… for obvious reasons.
6) Decade using the Legend Rider cards regardless of not being able to become those riders. Didn't help Tsukasa any bit. I mean Violent Emotion did that with ease.
7) And now the part everyone will hate or love: Tsukasa's Death. YES, in canon, Tsukasa did die. It happen in Decade's last official movie (which was a double feature with Kamen Rider W which had a better flesh out mystery story) where Tsukasa became THE Destroyer of Worlds, destroy all the Riders (including Showa Era Riders) so someone would kill him… and that someone was Natsumi; the person who believed in Tsukasa's goodness the most. I won't say the details, but he let her kill him like the biggest spoiler of Code Geass' ending I won't talk about. So Tsukasa let himself die so that through his death every rider and all the damage to all worlds would be restored. In the end of the day, Tsukasa died being a hero like Natsumi wanted him to be.
In here, Narutaki wanted to make Decade suffer and was enraged by Natsumi still believing in Tsukasa. So he goes to kill her, and Tsukasa takes the blow, dying. Of course I still kept that idea that since he caused this mess, through Tsukasa's death all the riders and all their worlds will be restored. Like I just said, Tsukasa destroyed the riders and took a gamble that through his death, they would be revived and their worlds back to normal. He died as a hero.
… Next time is the final chapter, and it'll be the end of Tales of the Decade. So YEA… enjoy the final conclusion...
