E.N.D. x Lucy

Natsu constantly found himself staring into the flames that blazed from his fireplace around this time of day. This was the time when he could see her without any interruptions or distractions. The human realm's time finally syncing with his for a short period. The fire whispered its excitement as it flickered, slowing presenting the imagine of a lovely young woman curled up on an armchair in her bedroom. She was reading this time, he noted, and her hair was up in a messy bun. He hated when she put her hair up, it didn't allow it to shine. The fire waivered in time with Natsu's growl; he just wanted to reach through the flames and yank the hair tie from her golden hair and run his fingers through it.

A knock on his chamber door infuriated him even more than seeing her hair up. His servants knowing better than to interrupt him during his spying. He pretended not to notice but another knock had him downright snarling.

"E.N.D?" a nervous call floated from the other side of a heavy oak door. Natsu still didn't answer, he detested that name, but it had been dubbed his centuries ago. Who was he to continue to fight the inevitable? He had his sights on something far more important. And she was mortal. The sound of the heavy door creaking open brought him out of his musing and he slowly dragged his hand through the flames, disrupting the image of her and keeping his back to the door.

"This had better be important," E.N.D snarled, turning slowly to determine who was going to pay for the interruption.

"I-I-it is! You've received a letter from the Queen of Fairies….t-they're asking for your assistance." The lesser creature before him stuttered out. It seemed to manage to hide its fear well but that didn't matter, it wasn't going to survive the conversation.

"I'm uninterested," Natsu sighed, turning back towards the fire and effectively dismissing the terrified demon. Its skin turning a concerning shade of gray.

"u-uhm, well you see E.N.D…." The poor creature continued to stutter, unsure of whether to flee out the door or push the matter further. Titania had made it seem rather important.

"SPIT IT OUT!" Natsu bellowed, losing all his patience in the blink of an eye.

"Erza said this would be of great interest to you," the trembling demon squeaked. It inched forward and rubbed its clawed hands together, "It seems there's an issue involving a dragon and the mortal realm. Its causing problems while attempting to snag a witch it's set its eyes on."

"I still do not see how this concerns me,"

"It's been lurking around Fiore!" Now that got Natsu's attention. Fiore was the area that contained his treasure. The one he watched obsessively for years. He'd stumbled upon her by accident in his youth and was instantly smitten but by what exactly he couldn't tell. Maybe it was the fact that her hair shone like fire in the sun, glinting and shimmering. Maybe it was the fact that she looked good enough to eat, her porcelain skin just begged to be bruised and bitten and that was something Natsu couldn't resist. He loved to ruin beautiful things and she was indeed extremely beautiful. And his.

"very well, I'll have to be sure to let the Queen," Natsu scoffed out the title, considering it a mockery, "know that it's caught my interest." The demon bowed low, slowly inching backwards toward the door it came. "Ah, but let me not forget," E.N.D continued, clearly amused with whatever he remembered. Before the messenger could blink, it went up in flames, screaming until it had turned into a pathetic pile of ash on the floor. Maybe that would be enough of a reminder on why he shouldn't be bothered around this time.

He wanted to go back to watching the object of his affection.

Lucy always had the strangest sensation that she was being watched. It didn't seem to matter where she was or who she was with the feeling never faded. She'd gotten almost used to it, learning to not bring it up for fear that people would think she was crazy. She was starting to think that she perhaps was. The only thing that kept her from enrolling herself into the nearest mental institution was her new friend, Levy. Levy never seemed to question Lucy when a sudden awareness of being watched hit her, causing her to shiver and look around nervously. Instead, Levy would pat Lucy on the back and offer to make tea and talk about whatever was bothering the blonde. The ringing of the phone brought lucy out of her own thoughts. Putting down her book she quickly snatched it up and answered.

"H-hello?" Lucy huffed, caught off guard by not checking the caller I.D.

"Lulu!" Levy's voice floated from the phone and caused Lucy to relax a bit, "Where are you right now?"

"I'm at home, why?" The alarm in the tiny woman's voice was enough to make the hair on the back of Lucy's neck stand on end. "is everything okay?"

"Yes! I just had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach," Levy started and then hesitated. The sound of sirens was almost deafening from the other end of the line.

"What's with the sirens?"

"uh," the line cut out, causing a weird static feedback to cut off Levy's next few words before correcting itself, "it's fine, just a string of fires has been happening up and down my neighborhood."

"What about your bookshop?!" Lucy couldn't help but feel alarmed. That bookshop meant the world to Levy and was practically the only thing the short woman lived for. If anything happened to it Lucy wasn't sure Levy would ever be the same.

"It's fine," there was scuffle and Lucy could have sworn levy muttered something about that being the least of her worries before her voice was back in focus, "I'm not worried about that as much as I am the surrounding neighborhood." That was a little odd, but Lucy shrugged it off and steered the conversation to a safer topic: books!

"I was sure I left it right over here!" Levy muttered. She was currently crouched behind her desk, the rustling of paper the only thing that gave her away. "I specifically sat it right over here so I would know where it was to give it to you!"

"Lev, it's not a big deal." The blonde started and then sighed once she realized the tiny librarian wasn't paying her any attention. The blonde decided the best course of action would be to let the blunette do what she did best, problem solve. "I'll just be over here looking around."

"Okay," Levy responded back distractedly, "Careful of what you touch though." Lucy only grunted her acknowledgement, not sure what was so dangerous about a handful of books in a small homey shop. None the less, Lucy found herself weaving in and out of the bookshelves piled high with books on an array of topics. She could hear her friend mumbling about the improbability that she misplaced the book intended for her guest. It would have been funny if Lucy didn't have the sudden feeling that she was being watched. Between the bookshelves the feeling progressed, making her antsy and nervous. She spared glances behind her and between the shelves, but it was just her and Levy.

Trying to shake the feeling and calm her rapidly beating heart, Lucy paid more attention to the books on the shelf that passed her by. All the titles were magical in nature and had her raising her eyebrows; she hadn't expected someone as logical and scientific as Levy to stock such a wide variety of fantastical books that she did. She made a mental note to ask her about that later as she continued to scan the shelves. Lucy's finger gently stroking the spines of some of the more intricate titles. The further into the store she got the more the hair on the back of her neck stood up but before she could turn around a whisper had her jerking her head up. Lucy slowly dropped her hand and looked around, unsure if Levy had snuck up on her but she was alone in the isle. Her blue haired friend was nowhere to be seen. A shiver snaked its way down her spine. This was all in her imagination surely. It was always overactive and getting her in trouble.

"Lucy...!"

The whisper was right in her ear this time and caused her to squeak in fear, whipping around quickly. A blur of movement to her right caught her attention and had her spinning around. Again, there was no one. Lucy was starting to get frustrated now, sure that Levy was playing an awful prank on her.

"This isn't funny Levy," Lucy muttered, her eyes stuck on the spot that she swore she saw something move at. A flash of gold brought her attention fully to a singular cover, one she was almost sure wasn't there before. The blonde was almost unable to move her eyes from the cover; something about it was calling to her. There was just something…

Lucy found herself kneeling in front of the book, unaware of how she got there. Her finger gently tracing the spine. "The complete collection of entities: A Dark Grimoire," Lucy whispered.

"Lulu, there you are!" Levy's voice brought Lucy out her of her trance. She stood up slowly, almost unable to take her eyes off the mysterious tomb. "I found it," the blue haired woman continued, "It seems I just placed a stack of other books on top of it in my haste last night to close!"

"Ah," was all that managed to come out as Lucy slowly made her way back to the front of the Shop. There was just something about that book.

Lucy kept tossing and turning, her thoughts in disarray. She couldn't believe what she had done. She'd taken that book from Levy's shop without her friends' knowledge which was something she would usually never do. Whatever had possessed her to slip the book into her purse while heading to the bathroom before the girls locked up was a mystery to Lucy. Now she was paying the price, her conscious not allowing her to sleep easy. Oh, but the blonde was determined; she'd already decided she was going to return the book first thing in the morning after apologizing. Luckily for her Levy was sweet natured and wasn't one to hold a grudge. With that comforting thought, Lucy fluffed her pillow and burrowed further into her covers and prayed to Mavis that a sound sleep was in her cards for the night.

Lucy rolled over and squinted tiredly at the clock on her nightstand. She groaned and flopped back over on her back; it was 3am. She didn't remember falling asleep. Could have sworn that she had just been thinking about attempting to sleep. Whatever the case she was awake now. Lucy sluggishly sat up and shoved her hair out of her face, decided she might as well use the bathroom. Her legs swung over the edge and the second her feet hit the floor a shiver traveled down her spin. Suddenly, she felt like she was being watched,

The blonde shrugged it off as best she could, quickly heading to the door that led to her bathroom. A movement to her right had her freezing. Had she seen that shadow shoot from her closet or was she scaring herself? She was about to simply just shake it off when she heard a voice.

"Hiya, Lucy." A male voice drawled out slowly. He said her name like he owned it. Lucy screamed and spun around, her back colliding with the wall her bed rested on. Right in front of her was a man. She felt like she was going to be sick. "I've been looking forward to this for a while." He continued, his mouth pulling into an almost boyish lopsided smirk. Lucy saw fangs.

"W-who are you? H-how d-did you get in here?" Lucy stuttered. She couldn't remember where she had placed her taser and the baseball she kept near her was on the OTHER side of the bed. She always thought she'd be more prepared in a situation like this. Her eyes snapped back on her intruder the second he started moving closer to her. Lucy noted that he acted like he had all the time in the world, striding slowly. The closer he got the more she tensed, looks like she was going to make a run for it. Without warning, Lucy shot to the right, aiming to clear her bed and grab the bat she kept on that side of the room.

"Now now," the man practically purred, moving fast to grab Lucy's arm and wrench her back against the wall. She whimpered when her left shoulder connected painfully with the wall and then groaned lowly when her back followed suit. "As much as I love to chase, this isn't the time for games Luce."

"Y-you- "Lucy's heart was beating a mile a minute. He'd someone managed to catch her in the blink of an eye. Her hands pinned to the wall above her head and the pain in her shoulder almost unbearable. She was definitely going to have a nasty bruise there for a while.

"I've been waiting for this," The strange man murmured while pressing every inch of himself against her body. He slowly transferred both of her wrists to one hand and used his other to anchor in her hair, "you're softer than I imagined and smell delicious." He purred, yanking her hair painfully to expose her neck. Lucy moaned softly from the pain and started to shiver in fear the second his tongue connected with her neck. "Louder, you aren't being loud enough."

"S-s-stop," The young woman pleaded quietly, "Y-you want money? I'll give it to you…j-just please!" Lucy wasn't sure if she was coherent. The fear of the possibility that she was going to be raped was starting to weigh heavily on her. Her eyes were starting to water from the tension on her scalp. She sobbed dejectedly when he groaned, nuzzling his mouth firmer against her neck and grinding the bulge in his pants against one of her thighs.

"Your voice sounds the best when you beg, Luce." Lucy shivered again and finally caught the color of his hair when he shifted closer and the moonlight from the window hit a strand. It was pink. Had she seen a horn? She must be losing it in her panic. "Don't worry though, I'm not going to fuck you unless you ask for it," He continued crudely, "I just, can't help myself." Lucy didn't have a second to breath before his hand tightened painfully in her hair and she felt his fangs slide along her neck.

Lucy saw the horror that lay ahead of her flash before her eyes. She saw herself getting bitten savagely in the neck, the blood that was going to gush from the wound. She could imagine the sick glint of arousal that would shine in her attacker's eyes and practically feel him humping her leg to relieve the tension in his cock. Lucy shivered when he pressed even closer to her, his grip on her wrists also tightening. She wanted to cry, there seemed to be no getting out of this situation. He was going to lose it to his bloodlust and shred her clothes to get to her, she could feel it. She was dreading it. The blonde didn't realize it but she had gone slack in his grip, her lack of resistance making Natsu feel like she'd surrounded. He liked that.

"My names Natsu," He panted against her neck, "Find me in the book, Luce." He bit her hard, a trickle of blood running from her neck and splattering on the front of her tank top. He groaned as she screamed.

Lucy shot up in bed in a panic, her eyes darting around her darkened room. She turned to the clock on her nightstand and saw that it read 3:47am. Her hand automatically reaching up to brush the spot she could have sworn was just torn into. It had all seemed so real. She slowly stretched and winced when her left shoulder protested. Well, that was weird. Lucy couldn't stop herself from looking at the Grimoire she had stolen. It practically glowed a soft purple from its position on her desk.

Maybe she would take a quick peak before giving it back to Levy.

Quick Authors note: This is going to turn into its own story. I'm fascinated with the Dynamic and honestly my brain won't give it a rest so yeah. I haven't decided if it's going to be a shorter story (around 5 chapters or so) or relatively longer (ending more around 15). I've planned it out a bit and am skeptical I can get that many, but I've surprised myself before.
