Writer's note: Thank you Goddess, Roxhall, Sassy, and Navywife for your reviews! Yes Goddess, picture Jeanine and Eric is certainly disturbing. Caius really is thirsty, isn't he? Haha. Can't wait for everyone to see what's coming next. We have like a few more chapters to go before we get to see some Twilight x TVD action. Not the Good Guy is up next on the building board. Outline is complete and the first chapter is being drafted. Hope everyone is having a great day! Thank you for all the support! Don't forget to follow, favorite, and review!
Bella waited until everyone was in their bunk and asleep before she slipped out. It had been too long since she had a moment alone with Eric, so she crept up to his room. She snuck inside upon hearing the shower going she went to the doorway and leaned against the doorframe.
"You're not as quiet as you think you are." Eric said as he turned. His eyes were closed because he was washing his hair.
"I wasn't trying to be quiet." Bella said with a smile. "I missed you."
Eric wiped the water out of his face and looked at her. She looked tired; her face bruised from her spar with Demetri. "Join me?"
"I've already had a shower." Bella said, teasing him. "But I will get naked and meet you on your bed." She said and then pulled her shirt off and slowly unzipped her sports bra for him.
"Hmm. You're teasing me." Eric said with a smile, shutting the water off to get out.
Bella giggled a little then left the doorway and went to his bed. Shedding the rest of her clothes along the way and got in his bed, completely naked and ready for him.
Eric appeared, his towel around his waist and he smiled at her, his eyes raking over her glorious body. "You don't know how badly I need you." He said, his voice a little husky from the arousal.
"Well, come and get me." Bella purred and he pulled the towel from his waist and slipped into bed with her. Before long they were united. His hard cock pulsating before he even thrust inside her. Her moans were like music to him as he made her body sing from his touch. Every kiss, every push of their hips sent them to new heights as they took pleasure from each other. This was the release he needed as she vibrated under him, her orgasm consuming her as she spilled out. He followed suit, thrusting up inside her deep as he released all the tension from the last four days. It felt never-ending as his cock continued to empty. This was a feeling he was starting to miss, but was finally able to find that comfort.
"I love you." Eric murmured before his lips brushed hers again, before he slid out of her, and she snuggled against him.
Bella smiled. "I love you too." She said, feeling safe there in his arms. They lay like that for a while before there was a knock, on Eric's door.
Eric sighed. "Stay quiet." He said and got up, grabbing his towel, and pulling it around his waist, because he didn't have time to pull on pants. He answered the door, staring into Four's face. "What?" Eric said harshly.
"I just got back. Caleb has been handled the best I can. He's calm for now, knowing that Al is dead, but he doesn't understand why there was a line. I did my best, but…"
Eric nodded. "Okay. Write it in your report, set it on my desk. I'll read through it tomorrow."
Four nodded. "Right, well, I swept through the sleeping quarters. Bella is missing. I'm worried that maybe- "
"She goes on nightly runs." Eric interrupted him.
"Yes, but what if- "
"Four." Eric said, his eyes level with his. "She's on a run. Let her be. I don't have time to deal with this bullshit this late."
Four wanted to hit him. "How can you not care? Recruits are being killed because of this stupid line that you and Max came up with."
"Correction. Jeanine." Eric said. "It's Jeanine's game that she pulled Max into and I'm just following orders, which is what you should be doing."
"I can't just let recruits kill each other."
"Bella, can handle herself. She sparred Demetri tonight and won. She's placed higher on the board, and I doubt that someone is going to take her out the same way Al took Tris out." Eric said. "Why do you even care? Do you have a thing for Bella or something?" He said, his eyes narrowing.
Four swallowed. "No. She's just… she lost Tris and then Al betrayed a bond. So, I'm just…"
"You're reading too much into it. Al was a bitch that couldn't face his fear and so he took it out on Tris. The truth serum revealed- "
"That's just it, there's no way he acted alone. Al is not that strong, and Tris was stronger than he was." Four said. "Something just isn't right, and Bella will be next if we don't do something."
Eric sighed. "She's on a run. Do you want me to go chasing after her in the night? What is that going to prove or show? Recruits need to fight their own battles. Now go, shower, and write your report."
Four stood there a moment. "Fine." He said and then left, stalking back to his own quarters on the other side of the building.
Eric shut the door and then walked back towards his bed. "So, yeah. I forgot about Four being off site, honestly. So much happened today."
Bella got out of bed and started pulling on her clothes. "Yeah, you've been really busy. I'm worried about you." She said and walked over to him, shirtless and leaned against him, her arms going up, laying on his shoulders. "You need to take it easy from time to time."
"Yeah, well… there's just too much to plan. Jeanine is still going through with the plan next week after the simulations" Eric said. "Not to mention, she wanted me…"
"Wanted you to do what?"
"A lot of things I can imagine. Things that I find completely repulsive."
"Like what?" Bella pressed.
Eric sighed. "She came on to me today."
Bella chuckled a little. "Are you serious?"
"Yeah, that was a moment I thought would never happen, but that wasn't even the most surprising thing to happen today, trust me." Eric muttered.
"Well, what did you say or do?"
"Well, I declined obviously. Said I was seeing someone and then Caius interrupted and claimed to be that someone."
Bella nodded. "Yeah, I can see that. Caius does strike me as the kind of person to swing for the same team, I find it romantic in a way."
"Oh?" Eric said, smiling and raising a brow.
"Yeah, it's sort of… hot when you think about it."
"What, me and Caius?" Eric was a bit appalled.
Bella shook her head, laughing a little. "Not you and someone else, but like, I don't know. Seems… interesting enough to watch happen."
"Who are you right now?" Eric joked and kissed her softly. "Though Caius hit on me earlier before I came to my room. It got intense. He's suspicious of something… I'm afraid he's going to connect the dots eventually."
Bella leaned back to look at him. "He's suspicious of us?"
"No, he's suspicious of me." Eric said. "He kept… asking me about who I was seeing. He's always been this way. He has to know everything about everything, so he has the advantage. It's been like that since we were kids."
"You grew up together?"
Eric nodded. "Yeah, best friends."
"That's really hard to imagine."
"Not so much. Caius was different back in Erudite, here, he's just…the darkest form of himself. Either way, I think… I maybe deflected his suspicions for now." Eric said.
"How so?"
"You're not going to get mad?" Eric asked cautiously.
Bella raised a brow. "You kissed him, didn't you?"
"I did." Eric said with a nod. "It was a challenge, I didn't back down, he wanted to be dominant. I showed him I was clearly more dominant."
"Oh really? Is this on video because I would love- "
Eric kissed her to shut her up, his tongue pushing against hers before he pulled away. "You, are too much sometimes." He said with a smile, leaning his forehead against hers. "It's why I love you so much."
Bella smiled. "Well, someone has to love me. It's good its you."
Eric leaned in and kissed her again. "Mmm. You should probably get going before I throw you back on my bed." He teased.
"Okay, okay." Bella said, and then kissed him one last time before she finished getting dressed. She looked over her shoulder and winked at him before she slipped out.
Eric shook his head. She was certainly, going to drive him crazy.
[1 Week Later]
The time for the end of the round was here. Bella was 3rd on the board, with Jasper right below here, and Christina was 10th and Will was 9th. It was a day of excitement. Peter had backed off suspiciously or so Bella had reason to believe he was acting stranger than usual. The simulations were making her nervous. She had three fears, and her last one was the one that bothered her the most. The images in her head would be displayed on the screen so everyone could see. She blew out a breath, and stretched her arms. She couldn't just sit still, she had to keep moving. There were a lot of people there, including her parents, and Tris's parents. She was surprised that they even came out, but they sat with her parents, and she figured they were there to show support for Bella. Jasper walked up beside her and looked around.
"It won't be so bad." Jasper reassured her.
"That's easy for you to say." Bella muttered.
"Something wrong with your fears?" Jasper asked quietly.
Bella nodded. "Yeah. Eric."
"Oh no. He's in your landscapes?" Jasper had never asked before, but then again, none of them really talked about their fears in depth.
Bella nodded. "Well, this will either raise a lot of questions or it won't. I just have to play my cards right I suppose." She said and looked around more. Jeanine was there now, and she was standing next to Eric, talking to him. She saw Edward with her, and their eyes met for a moment. It had been a long time since she had seen Edward. He gave her a small smile, before he focused back on the tablet he was holding.
Four joined Bella and Jasper, standing on the other side of Bella. "You're up third. Be ready." He said, and then walked away, to join Eric and Jeanine.
"At least there's two ahead of you, so you can prep." Jasper pointed out.
Bella sighed. "Yeah, sometimes I wish I was lower down on the board." She muttered and stretched some more. "Hold still." She said and put her foot up on Jasper's shoulder and his hands went to hold her ankle as she stretched her legs.
"Planning on running?" Peter asked as he came out of nowhere.
"No, but I like to keep moving and my legs are hurting from yesterday's run, if you must know." Bella said, keeping her voice even.
Peter made a hmph noise and looked to the crowd. "Oh look, Tris's parents are here." He said with mild interest. "Coming to see the faction that killed their only daughter."
Bella took her leg down off Jasper's shoulder and she looked at him. He was taller than she was, so she had to look up, but her gaze was deadly. "You don't get to say her name, ever. I don't give a shit if they pinned it all on Al. I think you had something to do with it, and if I find out you did, I'll kill you myself."
"You're threatening me?" Peter didn't back down.
"That wasn't a threat." Bella said, her voice like ice.
Eric glanced across the way, seeing Bella and Peter staring each other down. Peter must have opened his mouth and said something that set Bella off, because she had been good at keep her cool lately. He forced himself to look away and then he hit something on his palm pilot. Andrew as being called up to the chair first to go through his fearscape.
"Walk away Peter." Jasper said, hooking a hand around Bella's waist and pulled her to him. "Walk away right now." He warned.
Peter just scoffed and turned and walked away, leaving Bella there stewing
It didn't take too long for Andrew and Demetri to get through their landscapes, then Bella's turn was finally here. She pulled her shirt off and handed it to Jasper. She walked up to the chair and looked at Tori. She nodded to her and she sat down. The crowd was quiet as Bella took her seat. Tori injected her and she relaxed in the chair, her eyes closing now, her body sinking into the chair as darkness took over and then she was in her landscape. The one that she practiced so many times. They never changed, even after Tris died.
Dauntless looked much the same as she looked around, before hearing Tris's voice. She ran towards it, calling out as she did. "Tris!"
"Bella!" Tris's frightened voice echoed in Bella's head. When Bella got to Tris, she was tied to a chair.
"What happened?" Bella asked as she studied her best friend's face.
"Peter." Tris choked out.
Bella looked around quickly, and when she turned, she got knocked back by Peter. She went immediately on the defense and started a hand-to-hand confrontation with him.
"You don't belong in Dauntless, and neither does she!" Peter growled out, through grit teeth as he fought with her. He shoved Bella back enough to pull a gun and he pointed it at Tris.
Bella growled then charged Peter, knocking the gun away with a kick, and went back to fighting. She swung her leg around again and kicked him backwards.
"Bella! It burns!" Tris suddenly cried out.
Bella's attention went back to Tris and suddenly there was fire surrounding her. The distraction gave Peter enough time to unsheathe a kni9fe and he took a stab at Bella, hitting her in her side. She growled as she twisted, grabbing his wrist, and rotated it around, the snapping sound loud and the pain enough to make Peter release the knife. She pulled it from her side and went back to Tris, the fire tickling her as she tried to reach across, but it was too hot. She shielded her face a little but then blew out a breath and used the knife to reach through the flames again, the fire tasting her skin and she cut at Tris's ropes, setting her free.
Tris collapsed and Bella caught her, hugging her to her now. She closed her eyes, her breathing still heavy from her battle.
When she opened her eyes again, Tris was gone, and she was back in Abnegation. She saw her mom and called out to her, but her mom didn't hear her. Bella ran, going towards her mom, but the distance never changed, when the world tilted and her mom faced Bella now and then she was falling backwards.
"Bella!" Renee's voice carried as she fell.
Bella cursed grabbing the rope she saw and ran towards the edge, tying the rope off around a concrete post. She quickly ran to the edge propelling herself off the edge and slid down the rope as she fell to catch her mother. After she caught her mother, her mom hugged her tight as her body quaked from the sudden fall.
"I've got you." Bella said, her breathing still hard, her heart thundering in her chest. She closed her eyes and when she opened them again, she was in her last fear landscape.
The room was dimly lit and Eric lay in the floor. She kept her breathing even, as she walked towards Eric slowly. She looked down at him, his body obviously beaten from something. "What happened?" She asked, her voice calm.
Eric's steel eyes looked up at her. "Choose." Was all he said and the room started filling with a fog.
Bella pulled her shirt off over her head and she went towards the vent that was funneling fog into the room then she stuffed it in the vent. She saw the window and Tris in the other room and the two doors. She completely ignored Eric and his coughing as the room filled. She wanted to turn back to gather him up and get him out of there. But instead, she went to the door to Tris's room and she kicked at it, busting it open and finding another door and a hallway. The other door went to Tris's room, and she pulled on the door, ripping it open and seeing her best friend, eyes wild with fear, look at her.
"Tris, come on!" She called to her friend and reached a hand out. Tris ran to her and grabbed Bella's hand then Bella was pulling Tris into her arms again, pushing the door shut behind her. They were in darkness now and Bella could hear the roar of her heart and her breathing as she stayed still.
When her eyes opened, she sat up in the chair, and looked around dazed a little.
"You're okay." Tori said, and helped Bella up out of the chair.
Bella looked up at the board, and saw her name flash and then move up to first. She overtook the other times for the landscapes. Now she just had to wait as the others took their turns, including Jasper. She walked down the stage and walked towards Jasper who gave her a nod and handed her back her shirt. She pulled it on. She was sweating, which was normal after the fear landscapes. Her heart was still beating hard in her chest. She wouldn't spare a glance at Eric, not right now, not after that. Jasper was next, so he took his place up on the stage, and sat in the chair.
Bella was quiet as his landscapes started.
The landscapes were over, Bella took first, which was a shock to some. She stood there as the room started emptying of people. Her parents smiled over at her and she gave a smile back. Even Andrew and Natalie Prior gave her a smile. It was clear that they were missing their daughter and between her landscape and Jasper's, they saw that she was very much loved. Bella only wished that Tris was here to see her parents again, but she wasn't and that ate at her inside. She wasn't lying when she told Peter that she felt like he had something to do with it. It just didn't make sense that Al would do something like that so out of the blue, but the truth serum had proved that he had done it. And had acted alone somehow.
Jeanine walked over, standing in front of Bella. Her smile made Bella sick, but Bella looked up as Jeanine approached. Eric was by her side, as was Edward. "Congrats Bella, you're top of the recruits. You're exceptional."
"Thank you, ma'am." Bella said with a small bow.
Jeanine smiled. "You're nothing like I imagined. Dauntless suits you well."
"I think so too." Bella nodded in agreement.
"It's clear you were close to Tris from your landscapes, I want to offer my condolences." Jeanine said then glanced to Eric. "Make sure she's on the right path to leadership." She said.
Bella swallowed and nodded. "Thank you, ma'am."
Eric gave a nod. "I will see to it." He said whistling over at Caius and motioned for him to come over. "Caius, you and Four get the recruits rounded up. Put them in two lines." He said and Caius gave a nod and walked away.
Jeanine smiled again. "Well, have a good night, Bella." She said and she walked away, Edward following her like a small puppy. He spared one glance at Bella, smiling at her and she smiled back and gave him a nod, before he left completely with Jeanine.
Bella looked back at Eric. "We're lining up."
"Yes, so get in line." Eric said with a nod and then walked way.
Bella sighed and got in line with the other recruits. Jasper already knew what was about to happen, and so did Bella, but they had to stay still. They couldn't do anything until Eric gave them some sort of signal tomorrow morning.
Christina and Will were confused as they got in line, but they had stayed quiet.
Four and Caius got the syringes out with the serums, and they began injecting all the recruits.
Eric walked back in and looked around the room. "The 23 that made it, you're getting injections. This is a tracking system. It's new and being implemented to keep up with you during the second round." He said, his voice harsh. "Turn in early tonight, tomorrow is going to be a busy day." He said and looked at the seven that didn't make the cut. "You seven, report to sick bay now." He said and the seven that didn't make it, hesitantly left, leaving the pit like he instructed. He glanced around at the others and just nodded before he left and went back towards his office.
Bella stood still while Four injected her, his hand was gentle on her neck and then he moved on to Jasper.
After their injections, they went to grab food before they retired to their bunks. Bella lay on her bunk, staring up at the ceiling. She couldn't sleep and that could be a problem. She looked around. There were less of them now since they lost Tris and Al then 5 of the 7 had been non-Dauntless born. So, there were only 11 of them now in the sleeping quarters. Jasper was laying there in his bunk, his arm draped over his face, probably to get himself to go to sleep. So, she tried the same thing, closing her eyes as she did so, and willed for sleep to come.
