It had been a few days since Sonic and his friends had all gone to Mobius, and saved all the Mobian refugees from Eggman, who they'd left on Mobius.
Sonic was now relaxing in a tree in the forest of Green Hills, looking up at the sky as he relaxed, like he liked to do when he wasn't saving the world, or helping out on Angel Island.
"Ah, this is the best. Nothing beats relaxing in a tree, while enjoying a nice chili dog" Sonic said with a smile, as he took a bite of the chili dog in his hand.
"Hey Sonic, you here?" Clint called out, getting Sonic's attention.
Sonic swallowed his chili dog, as he looked down at Clint, and smiled down at him, before he jumped down. "What's up?" he asked curiously.
Clint smiled at the small hedgehog. "Me and the family are having a barbecue later, like we all do in the summer. And I wanted to invite you and your friends over. And yes, we have plenty of food" the ex secret agent said with a smile at the hedgehog.
Sonic smiled at this. "Alright! I have always wanted to go to a barbecue! I'm sure some of the others will want to go too!" he said, as he shook in excitement.
Before Clint could respond, a ring portal opened next to them, and Tails flew through it quickly.
"Sonic! We may have a problem!" the young fox yelled out, as he landed.
"Woah woah, calm down buddy. What's the problem?" Sonic asked.
Suddenly, Sonia walked through the open ring portal, before it closed behind her. "The problem is, that your laziness has led to a human scientist finding a Chaos Emerald" Sonia said with a glare at her brother.
"Oh come on sis, it can't be that bad. I found one with Reed Richards before, and he was nice about it too" Sonic said with a groan, at Sonia bugging him about this again.
"This scientist has used it to make a big jump in terms of technology for this planet. And we don't know what he was able to achieve. For all we know, he could be worse than Eggman!" Sonia said as she glared at Sonic, annoyed that he wasn't taking this seriously.
"Ok, hold on Sonia. What human scientist are you worried about?" Clint asked her, hoping to calm the hedgehog down.
"Someone called Dr Thomas Light from Japan" Sonia said with a frown at Clint.
Clint sighed in relief at this. "Don't worry kid. From what I've heard from Stark, he's a robotics expert that actually gives him a run for his money" he said.
"So what if he made something really bad, like that Ultron guy?" Tails asked with a worried tone.
Clint paused at this, as he knew that was something to be worried about. "Well, from what I heard, he is a bigger perfectionist than even Stark. So if he is working on something like that, then it most likely won't be as half baked as Ultron" he said.
"Well, whatever it is, he's gonna announce it on live TV soon. And Sally asked us to get to Angel Island to watch it, and make plans for the Chaos Emerald" Sonia said, as she took out a new ring.
"Great, so we're gonna miss the barbecue" Sonic said with a frown at the missed opportunity.
"Oh, relax kid. We can wait until you're done, and it will give us time to prepare if you're gonna bring all your friends" Clint said with a grin, as he patted Sonic on the head.
Sonic smiled at this, glad he wasn't gonna miss out.
"Barbecue?" Sonia asked curiously, as she looked at Clint.
Tails took out his small data pad, and looked it up. "An earth custom, which has food where family and friends hang out and have fun" he said.
"Ah. Well, tell your family we will be back soon. We could use some rest, after we track down this Emerald" Sonia said, as she threw the ring, making a new portal appear.
"Ok, let's go! The sooner we do this, the sooner I can eat myself stupid on chili dogs" Sonic said with a smile.
"Don't you do that anyway?" Clint asked with a smirk.
"Ha ha. Don't quit your day job pops" Sonic said with a dry tone, as he ran through the ring portal, with Tails flying after him.
Sonia sighed at this, before she followed after her brother.
Clint chuckled at this, before he headed home to go see what this announcer from Dr Light was. Since if his achievement happened because of a Chaos Emerald, then it may be world changing.
(Angel Island)
In Sally's hut in the main room, Sally was waiting along with Knuckles, Manic, Amy, Tangle, Whisper, Bunnie and Cream, who were all part of the team that Sally had put together to gather the Chaos Emeralds and also do other missions on earth except for cream who wanted to spend time with her aunt Bunnie
Mighty and Ray were also there, looking at a holographic image of a live news conference in Japan, which was about to start.
"I hope that Sonia and Tails were successful in dragging Sonic, from wherever he is being lazy" Mighty said, as he frowned.
"No worries. Miss Sonia should be able to easily drag Sonic here" Knuckles said firmly.
"Miss? Since when do you call her that?" Amy asked with a raised eyebrow at the echidna warrior.
"It is customary to show respect to a warrior of her caliber," Knuckles said firmly.
"That, and you're sweet on her" Tangle said with a mischievous smirk at Knuckles, as she had noticed how the echidna warrior was with the female hedgehog.
Manic paused at this and smirked at this info. "Oh, is that so?" he asked with a teasing tone.
"How can I be sweet on her? She's not edible" Knuckles asked curiously.
"It means that you have feelings for her," Sally said with a grin.
"I have feelings for all kinds of things, your highness," Knuckles said with a confused tone.
This got groans from everyone at this, as some of them slapped their heads and shook them.
"Wow," Tangle said, as she shook her head.
"And I thought that Sonic was dim," Manic said with a chuckle.
Suddenly, a ring portal opened and Sonic ran through it along with Tails and Sonia, before it closed behind them.
"You're late," Mighty said with an annoyed tone at them.
"A hero is never late, my dear armadillo. Nor is he early, he arrives exactly when he is meant to" Sonic said with a grin.
"Ah, wise words," Knuckles said with a nod of respect.
"He's quoting a movie" Whisper said simply, causing Sonic to face fault at being found out.
"How do you know?" Sonic asked with a pout, at being found out.
"We got internet, and streaming services here a few days ago, Sonic the blue" Tangle said with a giggle.
This made Sonic pout with his arms crossed, while some of the others laughed.
"Ok, the press conference is starting. Let's hope this Dr Light is a good one, like Clint said" Sonia said, as she pointed at the holographic screen, which showed the live press conference, and what looked like an older man in a lab coat approached the podium.
"He looks like a gentle soul, at least" Bunnie said with a smile, as she was a good judge of character.
"We shall see, but here's hoping," Sally said, as the press conference started.
Dr Light smiled at the reporters, as pictures were taken. ["Thank you, thank you all for coming today. For those that don't already know me, I'm Dr Light, one of the leading expert scientists in robotics, here in Japan"] he said.
The gathered Mobians watched intently, as the press at the press conference took more pictures.
["As you know, recently, Japan has come into possession of one of Angel Islands Chaos Emeralds, and I have been scanning it, seeing what secrets it holds. And I'm happy to announce, that thanks to the Emerald, I was able to finally complete my life's work"] Dr Light said, as what looked like multiple TV screens appeared behind the professor, which turned on showing what looked like several humans in special armor, doing several different kinds of jobs, from the mundane to the important.
["You created armor for people to use in daily activities?"] a reporter asked, bewildered at this, as he pointed out a human female with a pink outfit on the screen, helping a little girl get her cat down from a tree by flying, before smiling and patting the little girl on the head kindly, before she turned around. Everyone also saw that she had long blonde hair down to her knees, with a green ribbon tied in it, and two yellow bands on her head.
Dr Light laughed good naturally at this. ["I'm happy to hear you confuse Roll for a human. It shows my work is on point"] he said with a smile.
This got stunned silence from the reporters and the Mobian's watching.
"He's kidding, right?" Tails said with wide eyes, as he had a feeling what Dr Light was insinuating.
"I think so. And if it's true, then I think Eggman just got beat" Manic said with a chuckle.
"And knowing him, he might not be happy that someone built a better robot than him," Sonic said with his own chuckle.
The crowd of reporters clamored at this, and started to all ask questions all at once.
["Are you saying these are actual robots?"] a female reporter asked.
["Well, in a way. See, they are the next step in robotics. Robots that have free will"] Dr Light said with a smile
["What's to stop one of them turning out like Ultron?"] another female reporter yelled out, with many shouting in agreement.
["I'm glad you asked. See, Ultron was flawed and wasn't educated. Plus the robots, or reploids as I like to call them, can't access the internet to the extent Ultron could, so no copies would be created"] Dr Light said.
["Wait, so these reploids, as you call them, are actually unique and have personalities?"] one of the reporters asked, surprised at this.
["Exactly. They have every chance to do good or bad like any other human being. For example, one might act like a big brother or sister to little kids, while one would be more suited at construction"] Dr Light said, as he pointed to the image of Roll at a daycare, while another image showed of what looked like a large muscular reploid, who was picking up large metal beams.
["Can these reploids be hacked?"] a reporter asked with a hard look.
Dr Light laughed at this and shook his head. ["That's like asking if a human being's brain can be hacked"] he said.
["Wait, so they have brains?"] a male reporter exclaimed in shock, along with many others.
["Of course, that's what I was able to achieve, thanks to my work with this Chaos Emerald to make a true robotic brain, which gives reploids the capability to think for themselves"] Dr Light explained, as he gestured to a glass case nearby, which had a glowing Chaos Emerald in it.
["Is this Chaos Emerald required to make these robot brains?"] a reporter asked curiously.
["No no, I just used it to do my research into making the complicated AI for the brains. So if Angel Island is watching, please feel free to visit Japan and come pick this up"] Dr Light said with a smile at the camera
["But before they get it back, I'm afraid that I'll be using it for a while"] a man said, as he stood up with a sinister grin, showing he had white hair, a periscope over his eye and a walking stick in his hand.
["Wily, what are you doing here?"] Dr Light asked with a frown, as he tapped a hidden button under his microphone.
["That's Dr Wily, you glory hogging traitor!"] Wily yelled out angrily, before an explosion went off, making the reporters yell.
"And that's our cue!" Sonic yelled to his team, who all nodded as Sonia took out a ring and threw it, making a ring portal appear.
(In Japan)
Wily was on the ground, as the destroyed wall cleared and what looked like a robot magician, a clown sitting on a large white blue spotted ball, a walking furnace and an electrical robot entered the room
"Magicman, Colourman, Torchman and Elecman. What is this?" Dr Light asked Wily with an accusing look.
"These poor reploids of yours were being treated poorly at their jobs you dumped them at, and I offered them a better job; working for me, Light" Wily said with a grin, as he took the Chaos Emerald from the glass pedestal.
"Wait, what? I was assured you all would be treated with respect" Light said with a frown at his reploids.
"Yeah well, you obviously didn't care enough to make sure," Elecman said with a glare, as electricity surged around him.
"Yea. They wouldn't let us take breaks, and called us freaks!" Colourman yelled out.
"Look, I'm sure we can -" Dr Light was saying, before he was cut off.
"Save it Doctor. We're not gonna be slaves to the humans" Torchman growled out.
"Now, we will be taking the Emerald and leaving, so don't make us hurt you doctor" Magicman said, holding up his staff.
Suddenly, a wall exploded and a blue figure came through the wall, and blocked off the way to Dr Light. He was a blue reploid, with a cannon on his left arm.
"Is this another of your robot slaves?" Wily asked with an annoyed look on his face.
"I'm no slave, Doctor Wily. And I'm sure we can solve this without fighting, so just hand over the Emerald and stand down" the reploid said with a firm tone.
"Rock? Is that you? You look different" Elecman said with a chuckle, as he recognized this reploids eyes.
"You can call me Megaman. And I'm not gonna ask again, Elecman" Megaman said with a nod, as he raised his Mega Buster and took aim.
"Hey, maybe we should talk. Rock was always nice, back when we were first activated" Colorman said with a frown.
Before anyone could respond, a ring portal opened and Sonic ran through it and slammed into Torchman, sending him flying back.
"Back off, you bag of bolts!" Amy yelled out, as her and the others ran out of the portal and charged at the reploids.
Only problem was that Amy was charging at Megaman with her hammer raised, thinking he was with Wily.
"W-wait! I'm not with -" Megaman was yelling, waving his arms in front of him, before….
"Hi yah!!!!" Amy yelled, as she slammed her hammer into Megaman, who blocked it, but he was sent flying into a wall.
Elecman glared at Sonic, but smirked as he charged his electricity. "Lets see how fast you are, hedgehog" he said, before he fired some electrical blasts at Sonic.
Sonic raised an eyebrow at him. "Is that you, Robutnik? Man, what did you do with yourself?" he said, as he dodged the blasts.
"Who are you calling Robutnik? I'm Elecman!" the reploid yelled, as he fired at Sonic.
"I think he means that Robotnik or Eggman….oi!" Colorman yelled, as Tangle, Manic and Whisper attacked him.
"A clown robot? What can you do?" Tangle asked curiously.
"Don't laugh. You see that movie with the monster clown?" Whisper said, as she readied her sniper rifle.
"Hey! That's offensive! I am not like that! I like to make people laugh!" Colorman yelled out, clearly offended.
"…..then why are you attacking?" Manic asked, as he raised an eyebrow at this.
"Cause we were getting treated like monsters, just cause we're sentient robots!" Magicman said, as he threw some cards at Sonia and Bunnie, who took cover before they were embedded into the wall, showing they were razor sharp.
"Out of my way, or I'll burn you to ash, short stuff" Torchman said, as he glared at Knuckles and Tails.
Knuckles slammed his fists together and growled, as Tails hovered nearby with a blaster and his boomerang ready.
As the fighting continued, Wily was trying to make his way out of the building. But he kept getting cut off by the fighting between reploids and Mobians.
He stopped as Sonia was sent flying into a wall nearby by Magicman.
"Stay down. I would prefer not to hurt a weakling" Magicman said, as he readied more cards.
Sonia growled at this, as her eyes surged with pink energy.
"Oh, you have done it now darlin" Bunnie said with a chuckle.
Sonia made a karate cry, as she jumped at Magicman, who made an energy barrier to block, but he was still sent flying by Sonia's punch.
What she didn't notice was that when she jumped at Magicman, she dropped a ring, which landed at Wily's feet.
Wily smirked evilly at this, as he picked it up, knowing what this could do.
"Hey! Hold it!" Sonic yelled, as he spotted Wily, but he was zapped by Elecman, who started to shock him
"Not so fast now are you?" Elecman said with a grin, as he upped the voltage he was putting out, making Sonic yell in pain.
Before anyone could respond, Elecman was blasted and sent flying into a wall, courtesy of Megaman, who was now back, with his mega buster out, and smoking from his recent shot.
"Wait, this one is on our side?" Bunnie asked, as she slugged Colorman with her robot arm
"Yes, I am. That's what I was trying to say, before Miss Crazy here whacked me with her hammer" Megaman said, pointing at Amy.
"Hehehe, oops" Amy said with a sheepish look.
"Are you ok Sonic?" Tails asked, as he flew over to Sonic, who was slowly getting up.
"W-wily has a ring" Sonic groaned out.
"Too late hedgehog" Wily said with a cackle, as he threw the ring he had and jumped through it before it closed behind him.
"Oh man, that almost sounded like something Egghead would say" Sonic said with a groan.
"They should start a club and sell straight jackets. They would make a fortune" Manic said with a chuckle, as he helped his brother up.
"Well, at least the fighting is over" Sally said with a sigh, as she shook her head.
"Say uncle, you robot of flames!" Knuckles was yelling out, as he had Torchman in a hold, as he held his arm in a submission hold.
"It's reploid, you idiot- ow ow. Uncle, uncle!" Torchman yelled out.
"Yeah, robot is offensive!" Colorman said with a frown.
"But that's what you are, just more advanced right?" Tails asked curiously.
"Oh, so I can call you a furry?!" Colorman yelled out.
This got groans from the Mobians, as they definitely saw the reploids point now.
"Ok, let's all calm down. Nobody has been hurt" Dr Light said, as he approached the downed reploids.
"Yea, Wily was obviously using you all to take the Emerald and didn't care about you guys" Manic said with a nod.
"Yea, that jerk was quick to run, after he saw you guys weren't gonna win" Sonia said with a frown, as she helped Magicman up.
"But we were still treated badly" Torchman said, as Knuckles still held him.
"Then prove yourself! Don't be a fool and prove them right!" Knuckles said firmly, as he kicked the reploid away from him.
Elecman groaned at this from his place on the ground, as Megaman approached him. "I guess we ruined the doctor's hopes, huh?" he asked with a frown.
"No, you just made a mistake, like any other human," Megaman said, as he held out his hand to Elecman.
"Indeed. This can all be fixed easily, just leave it to me" Dr Light said firmly, as he nodded at the exploited reploids.
Elecman looked at Megaman's hand and nodded, as he grabbed his hand and shook it.
(A while later)
At Dr Light's personal facility, everyone was in his backyard resting, while Dr Light was talking to Tails after he had found better jobs for the abused reploids, at some of his other facilities.
"You're a bright little fox, aren't you?" Dr Light asked with a chuckle, as he listened to Tails tell him about some of his tech.
"What I have made is nothing compared to your work, doctor," Tails said with a smile, as he looked at Megaman who was talking to Sonic, while Roll was talking with Amy and Sonia, as Gutsman was talking to Knuckles.
"Yea, these guys are a major upgrade from Eggman's robots" Sonic said with a smile, as he gave Megaman a thumbs up, who returned it with one of his own.
"Yea, like that Metal Sonic jerk" Amy said with a frown
"Metal Sonic?" Roll asked curiously.
"Yea, Eggman made a robot version of Sonic" Bunnie said with a shake of her head.
"…..that's not creepy at all" Manic said, as he and Sonia found this really odd.
"Does it have the same powers as you?" Dr Light asked curiously.
"He did, but I beat him back when we attacked the Death Egg," Sonic said with a smile.
"Hmmmmm" Dr Light said, as he thought about this.
"Well, we should probably get out of your hair," Sally said.
"But Miss Sally, we're not in his hair," Knuckles said.
"She means we should leave Knuckles," Whisper said with a roll of her eyes.
"Yea, we have a barbecue to head to. And you guys have more work to do, if you're gonna make reploids more trusted" Sonic said to Dr Light.
"Don't worry. Today's incident is being blamed on Dr Willy, and the reploids involved are being put on probation for now" Dr Light said, wanting to put them all at ease.
Sonic nodded at this, before he looked at Megaman. "If you ever need my help, let me know. Us blue heroes need to stick together, after all" he said with a smile at the blue reploid.
Megaman smiled back at this and nodded, before Sonia tossed a ring making a ring portal, which they all used to leave
(With Dr Wily)
The mad rival of Dr Light was inside a makeshift lab he had created, and was looking at a scanner's results, as it scanned the Chaos Emerald he had stolen.
He then looked at a pod nearby, which had a reploid inside it. They were mainly red, with long blonde hair down their back.
"Soon, I will have the perfect answer for Light's Megaman, and those Mobian freaks" Wily said as he laughed madly, as his computer slowly started to complete his reploids AI brain.
(With Robotnik)
The mad robot doctor was in his lab, looking at his monitor, which showed him footage of Dr Light's reploids working in Japan, and that the government of Japan was gonna give them rights
"Wow, boss, are those robots?" Scratch asked in surprise, as he looked at the screen.
"Yea, they could pass for humans with their fancy AI" Grounder said with a nod.
Robotnik growled in anger at this. "That fool making robots that are just like human's defeat's the entire purpose, you pair of nitwits!" he yelled, as he slapped them both on the back of the head.
"Sorry boss, you're right!" Scratch said, as he fixed his head.
"I wonder if I can grab a reploid, and replicate the designs, so that I can make my own versions" Eggman said, as he rubbed his chin in thought.
"Wouldn't you be ripping off Dr Light, just to get you mocked?" Rouge asked with a smirk, as she looked down at them.
"Hmmmmm, maybe I can make something better" Robotnik mused, as he looked over some of his old files of ideas he had thought up when he was working for the government, but they wouldn't fund it.
As he looked over the files, one of the files said Project Sage.
"Now, this one looks to be promising" Robotnik said with a smirk.
(In space)
In space around Mars, the space colony ark was making its way past the red planet, as it made a beeline for earth.
Inside the space colony ark, a black hedgehog was looking out of the window, as the ark slowly made its way to earth.
"Finally. I will make them all pay Maria" the hedgehog said with a glare at the planet.
A gray skinned, bald humanoid alien stood next to the black hedgehog. This was Ebony Maw.
"Remember Shadow, the great Thanos helped you repair this….space colony ark. So you will be expected to bring me the Chaos Emeralds, before you destroy the earth" Maw said.
Shadow said nothing at this, as he glared at Earth, with his eyes glowing with red energy from his rage.

Shield soldiers firing off bullets at the invading forces but many brush them off.
