Chapter One

Raven soared over the city peacefully, glad to be out of the tower on such a beautiul night. Here, there were no ditzy alien girls "requesting her presence for a spree of shopping", or little green trolls...being little green trolls. No "oh-so-brave" team leader knoking on her door every 5 minures, or half man-half machine boys screaming at the top of their lungs during a video game where they just happened to be losing. Yup, this was the life. Getting away from it all for a while, felling the wind in your face, breathig the cold, moonlit air, being apart of the twinkling stars above. Anything was possible and nothing could stop her.

Her joy and freedom was broken when she saw a light below ignite, and heard screams. Like a bullet, she shot down to the light, right under her. A few seconds later, she was hovering over, and knew exactly whathad happened -- washappening. Someone was being burned, by 3 men in sunglasses, and black robes. They stood there laughing at the flaming, shrieking body, saying things like "Nobody can hear you!" and "Go back to hell and burn forever, bastard!" Raven couldn't stand it anymore. She droped down in front of them causing them to jump back with suprise.

"What's going on here?" seh cried. They were silent -- speechless. 'Nevermind that' she thought, turning to the burning person. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" water pipes glowing with black auras brusted out of the two alley walls surrounding the fire, shooting water at it. The screams died down, and it fell to the ground. By the time she turned back around, the three men were gone. 'I'll get them later' she rushed to the body, which was lying unconscious, badly burned. There were traces of rope on the ground and a puddle of oil where it (she couldn't identify the gender quite yet, it being dark) fell.

"Here it goes." she mutered, went down to her knees, and began the healing process. Her hands shone ((past tense of shine?)) with blue energy and hovered over the body. Lucky she made it in time, or "it" would've died. One minute passed, and all the burns had vanished. This healing had been one of the hardest, and it made her very weak. She felt a bit dizzy and could pass out any second. So, taking a deep breath and seeing that "it" wouldn't wake up anytime soon, she grabbed one of his hands and, with the last dying bit of her energy, teleported "it", and herself, to a place in"it"'s mind she had found. A small room, bedroom, with blank walls, a twin bed covered on a single red blanket and a white pillow, and a little nightstand with a thin book resting on it. And they were there.

that was the first chapter ofmy first story. please review!
