A girl?!

I'm a girl.

A girl.

Goddamnit Game.

I continue staring at the gender listed on my Status for a moment before letting out a long sigh and closing it. Taking a couple of deep breaths and climbing up out of bed and making my way to the bathroom and taking a look in the mirror.

"At least I'm adorable I guess", I say briefly, raising my hands up and touching my new face and hair. A soft and delicate face with deep blue eyes and topped by long black hair coming just past my shoulders.

Getting a quick idea I say aloud, "Skills" and wait until I realize nothings happened and horrifyingly come to the conclusion that I don't have any and that includes the classic Gamer's Mind and Gamer's Body. Meaning that this Game is really not gonna be as easy as I thought it'd be without a combination of those skills and a Charisma stat.

Deciding that worrying anymore then this is pointless I move on from this.

Stopping after getting enough of a feel for my new looks I then begin going through the motions of preparing for the day. Quick bath, brushing teeth and hair, and getting dressed in the best 'quality' clothes the orphanage can afford for me just as an older stern looking lady appears at the front. Immediately I recognize her from my knowledge of Harry Potter and breathe a sigh of relief.

"Ah you must be Miss Fraener I presume?", The stern looking woman asks as she approaches me. Taking a second to remember that that is my new name I respond in kind. "Yes ma'am. Rin Fraener ready and waiting." My voice still sounding quite odd to me.

"My so polite, I hope that keeps up as you experience our wonderful school. I am Profesor McGonagall and I'll be one of your professors for the next 7 years. Now, let us go and get your supplies." She says as she holds her arm out towards me, "Grab ahold of my arm and hold tightly, I'll be taking us there quickly."

I wrap my arm through hers and hold tight as a tight but sinking feeling appears in my gut. A sudden popping noise sounding out as we're suddenly in a much more packed roadway full of what appears to be shops with people going back and forth busily as I wobble in place trying to orient myself.

"Ah it is quite disorienting the first time," Professor McGonagall says as she helps me steady myself before gesturing over to a large foreboding building at the end of the way. "Now lets start over there at Gringotts and get ahold of your scholarship money so we can get everything you'll need for the next year." Just as the Professor begins walking I step ahead to ask a question.

"Professor, could you tell me more about Hogwarts? I'm afraid the letter didn't say much about what I'd be learning and I'd like to be as prepared as possible," I ask in what I hope is an innocent enough tone as to not draw suspicion. Which seems to have worked as she explains.

"Certainly, always good to see a student wanting to learn as much as possible," Her eyes glinting as she begins to go over the different first year classes I'll be attending and just as she finishes we walk into Gringotts.

"Now Miss Fraener I must warn you to be as respectful as possible while dealing with Goblins, otherwise they can make things more difficult them they could ever need to be," Just as she finishes giving me this warning a soft ping happens in front of me.

[Accept/Decline]

I accept that immediately and follow dutifully along. Standing to the side and waiting for the Goblin teller to address us.

"Name and reason for your visit today?" A deep growling voice pierces through me and I realize its the Goblin in front of us. 'Dang, the movies really didn't do their voices justice. That shits creepy.'

"Yes. I am Minerva McGonagall and I'm here to pick up a Hogwarts scholarship for Miss Rin Fraener here." Professor McGonagall says in a strict and curt voice. Just as I think about saying something myself the Goblin answers back.

"Ah yes another one. You've been quite busy lately it seems. Here, take the money and be on your way." The Goblin tosses a small pouch of money towards McGonagall who catches it deftly, thanking him and turning away to leave.

"Ah thank you as well Sir," My voice cuts in right at the end, surprising both the Goblin and Professor McGonagall as I also turn away and begin making my way towards the exit. A notification appearing in my sight as McGonagall joins my side.

"That was very kind of you Miss Fraener," Professor McGonagall says in a softer voice then I would've thought given the circumstances.

"Was it? I just figured thats what you meant by being respectful to them." I say back.

"Yes I suppose that is what I meant. Now let us go and get your supplies." The Professor begins leading me down to a shop with the sign 'Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions' at the top of it. Entering inside and being pulled over to get my sizes done for my robes in what seems to me a hurricane of movement with sizing instruments before being shoved back out the door to an amused McGonagall.

"Now that you've got your robes lets head to grab your wand." We arrive at a decrepit looking shop and head inside. Immediately being accosted by an old man.

"Ah Minerva McGonagall, 9 1/2 inches, fir wood, and dragon heartstring. Still serving you well correct?" The man I can only assume is Ollivander himself as he rattles off details about McGonagalls wand.

"Yes yes Ollivander now if you would be so kind as to help a new student here get her own wand please?" No sooner does the Professor say the words does Ollivander swing his body towards me, his eyes peering deeply into me as if dissecting every part of me.

"I see," he says after a moment before wandering off into the back and coming back with a couple boxes. He opens the first and pulls out a wicked looking wand. "10 3/4 inches, Apple tree wood, unicorn hair core. Give it a swish and see." He says holding the wand out for me and as I take it I can feel a pull deep within me and give what I hope is a strong swishing motion, causing a book to fly open on the counter.

"No thats not the one then," Ollivander takes the wand away and brings out the other. "9 1/2 inches, Aspen wood, and dragon heartstring. Try once more." I grab ahold and feel the same pull but at the same time it also feels as though I'm more... complete I suppose. Swishing the wand back over again I can feel the magic working as the same book from before flys over to my hand.

"Marvelous. Take good care of that wand young one, it only listens to those of the greatest fates." He turns away at that and disappears back behind the shelves as me and the Professor leave.

"Well that was certainly quicker then when I got my wand, but let us hurry through the rest of your supply trip and be on our way."

We hurriedly gather the rest of my supplies as in a trunk, cauldron, potions supplies, books, and finally arrive at a pet shop.

"Now just a pet to complete the trip eh Miss Fraener?" She asks me with a small smile to which I can only nod as we walk in. Gazing intently at each of the animals kept inside before quickly making my way to the owls section and choosing out a large barn owl.

"I think I'd like this guy." I say with a smile at his majestic appearance, thinking of the owls I'd studied in my previous life but shaking those thoughts away before I'd get lost in them.

"Very well dear." Professor McGonagall takes the last of the scholarship money and pays the shop owner for my new owl.

"I'm gonna name you Twilight big guy," I say as we leave the shop and Professor McGonagall stops us off to the side and hands me a small pouch that jingles softly.

"Here you go Miss Fraener. There was a bit more money in the pouch the Goblin gave us back at Gringotts and I can only assume it was for you due to your respectful attitude so take it and hold onto it for a rainy day," she says as I take ahold of the pouch and hold it tightly to my chest.

"Oh. Thank you Professor." I say softly and McGonagall holds her arm out once again which I take and the feeling of Apparition takes hold again and we appear back at the orphanage.

"You'll need to arrive at Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross ok? Or will you need assistance getting there?" She asks in a concerned voice to which I answer. "No ma'am I'll be good. Thank you for your help though, I really appreciate it."

She looks me over before nodding and giving her goodbyes and disappearing in a loud pop.

Now that I'm alone I make my way to my room, stashing the pouch of money into my Inventory and begin looking at my status from the quest.

I immediately decide that I'm gonna be holding onto my points for as long as possible since most Gamer stories allow for raising stats through hard work and getting points is just gonna get harder and harder.

"Now then, time to grind!"
