September 7 Nighttime
"Miss Fraener was incredible Professor," I hear a female voice say, my consciousness returning to the land of the living. "She's probably the best first year I've ever seen on a broom!" Well thank you mysterious voice.
"And I should care why?" I then hear a much deeper and droning voice join in. Don't tell me its who I think it is.
"Well Professor Snape, I figured you'd like to know that one of your first years is talented enough on a broom to outdo some of your Houses Quidditch Team. Would be a good idea to see if she'd be willing to join in and help the team out." This female voice says to my Head of House. Wait, is it Madam Hooch? Although it could be interesting to be on the Quidditch Team, I highly doubt any of them would tolerate a mudblood joining in.
I then hear some shuffling of feet and Professor Snape saying, "If that is the case then I'll be the judge of it. Now if that is all, I would like for Miss Fraener to quit feigning her sleep and get up." Shit.
I slowly open my eyes and immediately shut them again at the bright lights shining around the place, lifting my arm up and over my forehead to block some of them. Then slowly raising myself up and sitting against the back if the bed and looking around to the side. Finally noticing Professor Snape and Madam Hooch a little further back.
Looking the other way I see both Daphne and Tracey asleep against the backs of their chairs next to my bed. A chocolate frog box sitting on the bedside table as well. Looks like Tracey did bring me some candy to have while stuck here.
"I'll go get Madam Pomfrey. She'll need to do some follow up checkups." Madam Hooch says as she hustles off towards the back of the Infirmary. Professor Snape not acknowledging her at all as he focuses on me before finally addressing me directly.
"Well Miss Fraener, how do you feel?" He asks, surprisingly kindly, almost like he was sorry but I'm not sure why he would be.
"I feel fine Professor," I answer immediately, keeping eye contact with him despite knowing what he can do with his Legilimency. Though he doesn't have any reason to try and use Legilimency on me at this point in time so it'd be weird for him to do so.
He continues watching me for a moment, before finally nodding and continuing on. "Good, and since I assume you were listening in between myself and Madam Hooch then you'll know that she was singing your praises at how well you handled flying." He says as well, which I am aware of yes. "So I'll ask you directly, would you want to tryout for the Quidditch Team?" He ultimately asks, much to my shock and wonder.
"Uhh... I don't really know Professor. I've never even seen a Quidditch Match before, so maybe?" I kind of say but also ask, working to keep my features calm and collected before thinking of something else.
"Actually Professor, what happened after I fell off my broom? I can kind of remember Madam Hooch saying she'll bring me to Madam Pomfrey but otherwise nothing." I try to divert the conversation away to something else.
Professor Snape looks at me briefly and just as he's about to answer Madam Pomfrey bursts through the doors, the sound jostling Daphne and Tracey out of their sleep, and brushes him out of the way. "Out of my way! I need to check her up and make sure theres still nothing wrong."
Daphne and Tracey are both shaken by the sudden noise but then notice me up and looking at them as Madam Pomfrey begins checking me over. "Rin!" Daphne says hopping off her chair and getting up next to me, attempting to grab my arm but stopped by Madam Pomfrey.
"You can wait till I'm done checking her over Miss Greengrass. Now go sit back down and wait." Madam Pomfrey says, not even looking at Daphne as she continues waving her wand over me.
"Its ok Daph. I feel fine and should be able to join you all in a bit." I tell her quickly, and its true. My body surprisingly feels no different then it did before everything happened. Pretty lucky if you asked me.

Thats right. I accidentally put those 10 points from the quest into Luck. Goddammit Rin.
Well maybe its a good thing, after all, I can't put regular stat points into Luck normally so I guess putting points from Quests into it would be more helpful.

"Now then Miss Fraener, is there any discomfort anywhere over your body?" Madam Pomfrey asks, peering at me over her glasses.
"No ma'am." I answer back honestly, feeling at 100% already, as if I didn't go tumbling after outrunning some Bludgers.
She looks at me briefly before running one last check through by waving her wand and then nodding, "Ok then, you're free to go back to your dormitory. But come back if theres any sign of discomfort or pain go it?" She quickly moves back off and goes back into her office at the back of the room without even letting me answer. Professor Snape then tells me.
"Once you're done here Miss Fraener come to my office. Its down the stairs next to the Slytherin Common Room entrance. I'm sure Miss Greengrass and Miss Davis can be sure to help you find it." He tells me before strutting off and out the room. Leaving me with Daphne and Tracey.
"Are you sure you're alright Rin?" Asks Daphne, Tracey nodding along and adding, "Ya, is no big deal with us if you need to stay here."
"Nah I'm actually pretty good. Maybe its just some good luck y'know?" I tell them as I slide my legs off to the side of the bed and begin climbing out, my bare feet hitting the cold stone floor making me squeak in surprise.
"Gah its cold. Where are my shoes now?" I ask rhetorically as I find them and put them on, much to Daphne and Traceys amusement. "Ya ya chuckleheads, now lead me to Professor Snape's office so I can see what he wants." I finish saying and the two of them nod, still laughing slightly at me and begin leading me away from the Infirmary.
We finally arrive at the downward spiraling staircase leading to Professor Snape's office and I say goodbye to Daphne and Tracey before heading down. My footsteps echoing lightly on the stone stairs until I come up to the door to his office, knocking a couple times and hearing a, "Enter," from inside.
I open the hefty door and walk inside, seeing Professor Snape sitting at his desk going over some notes, probably for upcoming lessons I'd guess.
"You wanted to see me Professor?" I ask taking a seat on the other side of his desk. Sneaking a small glance towards the papers on the desk but not making any of them out before Professor Snape then speaks.
"You asked just a while ago about what happened after you passed out. I'm merely answering that question." He states for a moment, putting away the notes he was reading before giving me his full attention. "We are still looking into who freed the Bludgers and enchanted them to go after just you but judging by the enchantments used they would need to be upper years. On an unrelated note though I must compliment you on your flying Miss Fraener, Madam Hooch doesn't give such praise out to anyone, especially on their first day flying."
I'm fairly surprised at this, not the flying comment from Madam Hooch but Professor Snape being the one to also compliment me for it. Maybe he isn't quite as bad as in canon? Only one way to find out.
"If... you don't mind me asking Professor, why are you so kind to me?" I ask quietly, hoping for a reaction.
Professor Snape looks at me with a discerning eye for a moment before realization sparks on his face. "I presume you mean because of your muggle heritage?" He asks rhetorically. "Despite what the rumors say around the castle I do not hate muggleborns. Doubly so if they are in my House." He says with finality.
I take a moment before answering to double check the Quest I got for Professor Snape a few days ago.

Ya that one. No time like the present to getting really started on it.
"Can I be honest Professor?" I ask quietly, to which he nods back. "Why is it that you're so hard on those in other Houses but let those in Slytherin get away with almost anything they want?" I ask, his face settling into a stony expression.
He watches me for a moment before speaking up, "Miss Fraener, some questions aren't meant to be asked by those of you still not learned in the ways of our world." He says in a somewhat lecturing voice. "And just because you've had a singular bad day does no-" before I quickly interrupt him.
"With all due respect Professor, Malfoy has been harassing me, Daphne, and Tracey these last few days. He has been addressing me as nothing but a filthy mudblood and has stated that I should be either sent to some place called Azkaban or be put to death for somehow 'stealing' magic from the 'oh so noble' purebloods," I explain without giving him a chance to stop me, forcing myself to keep a strong expression on my face.
"Has he now?" Professor Snape asks, "I'll be sure to bring this up to him later then. In the meantime Miss Fraener, you should probably go ahead and get some rest, you've had an eventful day and sleep should help fix that."
I narrow my eyes at his suggestion and deflection but willingly nod at him, getting up from my seat and making my way out the classroom and back to the Slytherin Common Room and then my dorm room. Unsurprisingly Daphne and Tracey are already asleep so I go ahead and climb into my bed and get to sleep as well. One final small ding appears though while drifting off.

September 8
After yesterdays adventure from broom riding, to the infirmary, and then to Professor Snape's office I'm not expecting anything crazy to happen today. In fact I think studying with Daphne, Tracey and Hermione in the Library will be the most exciting thing today so lets hope.
The three of us begin making our way towards the Library, exploring some more of the castle as we do so to familiarize ourselves as much as possible for the rest of the year.
After finally making our way into the Library we find Hermione already there with a stack of books ready to go and diligently going through one of them.
"Hallo Hermione, hope you weren't waiting for us too long," I say as we approach and take our seats, pulling out the books we're each going to be studying today.
"Only a little bit," Hermione states, not looking up from her book. "Do you know what each of you are gonna be studying?" She then asks to each of us with a quick glance.
"Astronomy." I answer, gotta be prepared for when I meet up with Professor Sinistra later.
"Potions." Both Daphne and Tracey answer, "We'd like to get ahead with Potions so that we don't need to worry about Professor Snape." Fair enough I suppose, though I doubt he'd do anything if they were behind on any of his class.
"Well I'm going to be looking into Transfiguration," Hermione says proudly, "Headmaster Dumbledore used to be the Professor for that class and I wanna learn as much as I can about it." Weird reasoning but okie doke I guess.
We each begin pouring through our textbooks and working on memorizing each chapter one by one like I mentioned before. We then have each other ask questions about each others subjects and answer as well we can for those chapters we've been memorizing, when the unexpected happens.

Eventually it hits noontime and we begin packing up for the rest of the day, "Wanna continue meeting up like this Hermione?" I ask, surprisingly enjoying this little outing we had.
She looks at me surprisingly for a moment and answers shyly, "Y-yes, if you'd all have me." She manages to stammer out, her face slightly red.
"Sure, we'd love to have ya," Tracey jumps into the conversation, throwing her arm around Hermione's neck and shoulders to pull her into a hug. "The more the merrier in our little group." She continues saying to which myself and Daphne nod in agreement.

Good of course, not sure how useful Affection with Hermione would be though.
"Th-then I'll see you three next time." Hermione says as she quickly grabs her stuff and hurries out the Library. The three of us following shortly after.
"Well Daph, Tracey, I'm gonna be heading off to Professor Sinistra's classroom. Promised I'd join her for some additional studying outside of class and would like some answers about what I was studying." I say giving both Daphne and Tracey a quick goodbye, which they return, and make my way up into the Astronomy Tower.
I knock against the door before entering, finding Professor Sinistra already looking over another orrery, this one displaying Neptune with its rings and moons. I make my way over and I get her attention, "Professor Sinistra? Is it alright if I take notes on Neptune with you?" I ask innocently, seeing how my question causes her to jump in surprise as she didn't hear me come in.
"Mis Fraener! I am so sorry, I didn't hear you come in." She holds a hand against her chest and gathers herself before straightening up and answering my question. "Y-yes you can, though you won't be needing the knowledge of this for a couple of years now."

"No worries Professor. I'd like to learn as much as I can about all of Astronomy." I say in return, pulling out a roll of parchment and a quill to begin writing down anything Professor Sinistra can tell me.
Professor Sinistra smiles and begins explaining parts of Neptune while pointing to different areas of the planet. "Neptune you see is the eighth planet in our solar system, and is curiously made entirely of ice. It also has 6 rings of different kinds of rocks and ice circling it alongside its 14 moons of different shapes and sizes." She continues explaining and I keep writing, occasionally asking questions for certain points, causing another ding.

"Excuse me Professor, but can I ask how you got into Astronomy?" I ask, a smile on my face as I near the Quest completion. Though I am also enjoying the boost to my knowledge I'm getting from learning directly from Professor Sinistra, including the quickened boost to my Astronomy skill.
"Certainly Miss Fraener," she says softly, getting a faraway look in her eye. "I first got into Astronomy during my time here at Hogwarts. I'd always enjoyed looking at the night sky and figuring out the constellations whenever I had free time that once I came here I began studying the star charts the old Professor used for class." She begins explaining, a nostalgic look appearing on her face as she recollects.
"Those certainly were the days. Now it seems almost nobody finds Astronomy interesting these days." Her eyes drop as she says the words and I'm quick to jump in.
"Well I enjoy it Professor. Learning more about the stars and planets is cool and interesting." I choose my words carefully but somewhat honestly. The joy of learning new things to increase my skills already becoming a lovely feeling.
Professor Sinistra looks at me with slightly widened eyes before smiling brightly before leaning down to hug me softly. "Thank you Miss Fraener. That means a lot, and if you ever want to learn more come on by and we'll go over whatever you'd like." She says in what is probably the most emotion I've heard in this new life. Like she'd completely given up on ever seeing someone who shared her interest. And then the oh so familiar ding appears.

I'm almost too stunned to speak but manage to give a quick thanks to Professor Sinistra before she tells me I should probably go ahead and go, since the upper years will be showing up soon for their class and I'll need to go get something to eat for supper and then rest. All I can do is nod as my mind is racing with the implications of how my Affection system is working.
Perks can be gained through Affection! Like seriously. I'm gonna be working hard to farm Affection with everyone I can. Wait, if 50 Affection granted a Perk, then 100 should give an even better one!
"I'm gonna be so overpowered at this rate." I say aloud with a wide smile on my face, my heart beating wildly as I quickly make my way down to the Great Hall to eat.
I wonder who else's Affection Perks I should aim for first. Harry's would obviously be good due to being the main character, though his will probably be difficult due to us being in opposing Houses. Hermione might actually be worth raising a lot as well, some kind of knowledge based Perk I assume?
Each of the Professors would be strong, but other then Professor Sinistra, they'll be much more difficult due to age difference.
Daphne and Tracey should be easy though due to our friendship at least. Am gonna have to focus on both of them for awhile and see what I can get from them as well.

Oh wow~ more perks more perks more perks~! Rin is gonna be working on getting close to a lot more people now I guess. I wonder how well she'll do being a muggleborn Slytherin. Hated on all sides by those she should be able to talk to normally will make things difficult I'd imagine.
Also I've also made another page detailing the Perk Shop that Rin has access to and am posting it as well as a separate fic. So if you wanna see what kind of Perks Rin could get in the future take a look through there, it'll be updated whenever I have more ideas for Perks to put in there. And just to keep people from thinking that Rin will get the most op ones, there are a lot that Rin just won't ever get due to them not working well in the world of Harry Potter but theres also some that Rin will want badly that are also way too expensive to get.
