Riker's Island was well known for keeping its most notorious criminals in the state of New York. Not only that, but it was known as its maximum-security prison. Even though history tells this, someone was trying to break it.
Scaling the walls with just long golden spikes, a figure in a golden colored suit was climbing to the top with little to no effort. It made easy with a set of bars in front of it as it slithered its way into the hallway.
"What in the world?"
The armored being turned and saw a security guard aiming his gun at it.
"Nice and easy, Jack." The guard said.
Instead of doing that, the armored person brought out a small gun from his arm, and it sent high frequency waves. They caused the man to gasp as he saw his hands melt, and he instantly fainted. The figure came over the fallen man, seeing his handiwork made the guard hyperventilate in utter terror. Seeing his success, his picked up the ring of keys, and made his way down the hall.
In his prison cell, Jackal was looking out toward the sunset with a look of brooding. It wasn't that he hated the sunset, it was the same sunset he kept seeing ever since he was first placed in this rotting cell, and he wasn't alone.
"201…202…203…204…205…."
The man turned behind to see Wolf doing one handed pushups and looked like he was far from over. Since Wolf 'got rid' of his last cell mate from 'not getting along' with him, Jackal was placed in with him, and the guards thought they would be better off together.
When Wolf was about to reach 210, the sound of metal clanging was heard to the door. Both turned to the door of their cell and were shocked who was there.
"Dingo," Jackal said startled. "How did you-"
"Answers later." The man interrupted. "Right now you best stand away from the door." He then pressed some rubber explosive into the door, which made all three of take cover. When the rubber had done its work to the door, the sound of alarms blared in the hallways.
"Come along, mates." Dingo insisted. "The guards will be wanting to talk to us soon, most likely."
On the women's side of the prison, Fox and Hyena were in a shared cell minding each other's business. None of them caring that the alarm was going off. While Hyena was slingshoting at cockroaches, Fox was reading a thick book. From her lying on her cot with a book in her hands, to the four other books near her, Fox had been reading in most of her time in prison.
"Why do you read that stuff?"
Fox lifted her head up from reading and turned to her comrade. "Because Nietzsche's Too Butch and Kafka reminds me of your little friends over there."
That made Hyena snicker as she aimed her paper clip at another cockroach. When it hit its mark, she smirked. "Gotcha!"
"Nice shot."
The girls turned, and the golden armored man stood in front of their cell with his arms at his sides. "Good day, ladies."
"Who the devil are you?" Hyena demanded.
The made the armored man chuckle. "The one who came to get you two out with your pals. Call me Coyote." As he said that, the man put the same explosive clay on the lock, which made the girls run for cover.
The clay exploded, which made a huge hole through the door.
"Coming?" Coyote asked. "Or would you rather rot in jail?" he threw Hyena's yellow gauntlet at her, which she took with a smirk.
"I don't know who you are, but I like a man who brings me weapons." She remarked, instantly slipped it on.
*Whack!
Coyote turned and saw a female guard holding a now broken bat. She gasped, was grabbed by the man, then was thrown into Hyenas arms.
"Here's something to remember me by…" she cackled lifting her clawed hand. "For about…five seconds."
"Hyena don't!" Fox intervened. "There's no need to kill her."
"I beg to differ!" Hyena retorted as she tried to strike the guard, but Fox had different plans.
The woman pulled the guard away as she tried to wrestle Hyena away.
"You're wasting time." Coyote called out. "Let's go!"
Fox turned to him. "No, I'm staying here."
Hyena blinked. "What?!"
"I'm going to serve out my time." She turned to the security guard and helped her to her feet. "Pay my debt."
Hyena shrugged. "She's lost her mind."
Coyote turned to Hyena. "Fox made her decision. Come on!"
Both of them turned and ran down the hallways toward their freedom.
After Hyena and her rescuer jumped out of a large hole the coyote man made, they met up with the three other escapees at the only exit gate.
"Now what?" Wolf snapped.
His answer was heard as Coyote ran up to the gate, grabbed it with his claws, and scrunched it like aluminum foil. Tossing it aside like it was nothing, he looked over at his new comrades.
"Okay," Wolf smirked. "I'm impressed."
There praise was cut short as guards came running after them with armed guns and began open fire. The members of the Pack ran out of prison and down behind some high rocks for cover. As fires were shot, Wolf turned to Dingo. A look of suspicion on his gruff face.
"Where's Fox?" the man turned to Coyote who was staring out to sea. "And whose this guy?"
"He's Coyote, the guy who's saving your tail!" was all the Australian man said as he took some shots at the guards.
"How are we going to get out of here?!" Jackal exclaimed as he was almost shot in the head.
"Oh, ye of little faith." Coyote answered.
Soon as he said that the ocean started to ripple, then explode a geyser of saltwater. The Pack and the guards had to cover as a giant airship levitated above them and landed on the sandy beach.
"You all have exact change, I hope." Coyote told the group as he entered through the giant door at the front.
The Pack soon followed as they found there seats. They each took their seat as Coyote took the controls.
"Please fasten your seatbelts." Coyote announced. "And return to your seats and tray tables to the full upright position."
As the ship took to the air, the guards opened fired at the ship, but it didn't slow it down as it turned away. The airship soon zipped away at high speeds and disappeared in the sunset.
Evening soon turned into dusk, and clock struck seven. As each chime rang, seven stone gargoyles stood around the rim of the tower. Each depicting fierce guardians protecting their home and roost.
The sun soon set under the earth, and the gargoyles stone encasings soon cracked and peeled off in the joints. One by one, each gargoyle gave out each a unique wake up cry and their stone skin exploded around them.
The clan entered their home, each hoping for an easy start before they go patrol the Big Apple. That idea soon faded as Goliath saw Elisa standing at the bottom of the steps. Her face telling him something is wrong.
"What is it Elisa?" he asked.
"Bad news I'm afraid," she answered. "The Pack has escaped Riker's Island."
"What?!" Lexington's physique riled in anger at the mention of that name. It caused those around him to flinch.
"Nice wakeup call…" Brooklyn grumbled as he itched his one ear.
"We gotta track them down now!" the green gargoyle pressed. "Before the trail gets cold."
"Hold on Lex," Chelsea turned to the smaller gargoyle. "You don't even know how they escaped."
Goliath stared at both gargoyles, then turned to Elisa. He gently took her shoulders. "How did it happen."
"Dingo and somebody dressed in black, and gold took them out quick and clean."
As Elisa explained, Lexington was starting to get antsy, which made the others turn to him with worry.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Lexington insisted. "Let's get moving!"
As Lexington ran up the stairs, the clan turned to him.
"Where do we start?" Broadway asked. "Manhattans a bigger castle than the one we're used to protecting."
"Not to mention it could take all night, you may never find them in time before sunrise." Chelsea added.
"The Pack Media Studios," Lexington told her. "They'll go back to it like snakes in a nest." His face of hatred twisted more with bitterness. "And I'll be waiting for them…"
As he jumped out the door, he ran to his perch. Before he could jump, Goliath stopped him. "Lexington wait!"
"The studio is the first place we're checking." Elisa added quickly.
Lexington grumbled as he stopped. Back in the tower, Brooklyn jumped out and joined his rookery brother on the balcony.
"Okay Lex, you and me, we'll check it out." He offered. Lexington smiled with a nod.
"Make that three."
They turned and Chelsea jumped next to the hothead.
"You coming?" Brooklyn asked her.
"Uh, yeah. You guys can't have all the fun." The female shrugged, then pointed at both in a teasing manner. "Besides, someone's has to keep both you hotheads in line."
That made both males roll their eyes. As they were about to take off, a low rumble was heard behind them. They turned and Bronx came up to them, giving off a begging look.
"You want to come too Bronx?" the hothead asked.
That made the beast jump with excitement. While Brooklyn and Chelsea took Bronx's arms, Lexington jumped off first.
"Let's hope Lex has a clear mind." Chelsea gulped.
"I doubt it," Brooklyn shook his head. He turned to her. "But that's why he's not alone."
Chelsea nodded, then she and Brooklyn lifted Bronx into the air. Both following the small gargoyle who was way ahead of them.
Back in the tower, the others stood out the tower. Goliath narrowed his eyes.
"The Pack won't be foolish enough to return to the studio."
"Aye," Hudson nodded. "I believe Brooklyn and Chelsea are aware of this, but they're just making sure Lexington doesn't do anything foolish." He turned to the others. "I think we have to trace the problem back to its source."
Elisa narrowed her eyes. "The man who created the Pack."
Goliath rumbled. "Xanatos…"
The Pack's ship was switched to auto pilot as Coyote knew they were far away from prying eyes. The armored man looked behind his passengers.
"Autopilots engage, you may roam about the vessel."
"What about radar?" Jackal narrowed his eyes.
"Not to worry," He gestured to his small monitor in front of him. "We're stealth-rigged." He came out of his seat and stood with the others who came out of their seats. "So here's the plan-"
Before Coyote could continue, Wolf interjected. "Hold up a second, Dogface." He pointed at the armored man. "Who died and left you in charge?"
"I've appointed myself leader in Fox's absence." Coyote replied with his arms crossed.
Wolf scoffed as he brought up his fists. "Congratulations. You just set the record for the shortest term in office."
He was about to advance, if not for Dingo's quick actions.
"Hey, back off Wolf." He warned. "You don't know what you're dealing with here, mate."
"Good point," Jackal added with a sinister smile. "He does have a point. After all, when's the last time you tore an iron gate off its hinges?"
That made Wolf give off a growl. He jabbed a finger with his former co-worker. "You'll have to settle for me tearing this jerk in half."
The man launched at Coyote, figuring body slamming him would finish the job However, Coyote stopped him by a single hand, and sharp electricity pulsed through his body. He was thrown down on the ground at the feet of the other members.
"Want to see me use both hands?" Coyote asked.
Wolf took deep breaths in, somewhat shocked that the tin man was strong. "Coyote, huh? When I get through with you, they'll call you roadkill."
He went at him again, this time wrapping his huge arms around the armored man in a tight bear hug. Wolf smirked as he thought he was going to win, even his associates who were rooting for him thought he was going to end this fight. But…
With quick reflexes, Coyote broke free of the large man's grip, then pulled him into a headlock. He then brought out his left fist, and something sprayed on Wolf's face, and knocked the guy out in seconds. The rest of the Pack watched in shock as Wolf fell down like a rag doll.
"Don't fell too bad," Coyote told the group. "I am wearing battle armor after all."
Hyena narrowed her eyes as a gleaming smirk spread across her face. "For a masked man, you've got some nice moves, and you're even kind of cute."
"Even being said, the Pack doesn't follow just anybody." Jackal intervened. "We won't ask this again." He pointed at Coyote. "Who are you?"
Coyote reached up and twisted his golden helmet off. When he pulled it off, the Pack were shocked that it was none other than David Xanatos.
"Surprise?" The man asked out loud.
Hyena cackled. Wasn't at all expected this outcome. She turned to her brother who gave out a defensive look.
"And you said there ain't no Santa Clause."
Jackal narrowed his eyes at the millionaire. Recalling that he was arrested for almost killing the man in the first place. "You just bought yourself some serious payback, rich man…"
Just as he was about to go forward, Dingo interfered and grabbed his arms in the process.
"Fox got you all put away." Dingo explained. He turned to Xanatos. "This guy busted you out."
Xanatos came forward, his face laced serious as he began. "It was Fox who sent you to assassinate me, remember? She's out of the picture now, and it's the gargoyles who are our real enemies remember?" He turned around as he went up to the controls. "They put me in jail too once. I don't know about you, but I don't intend to let them go unpunished."
That made Jackal smirk as everyone followed behind.
"Keep talking." He sneered.
Xanatos went down to his knees, and pulled out a three duffle bags, and passed them to each member. Wolf and Dingo got their own while the siblings shared one. They opened them to reveal their old Pack uniforms but had a few upgrades that they like.
"I thought you might like to slip into something more comfortable," Xanatos said. "You want to take out the gargoyles, so do I. In doing that, you have to follow my rules."
"Okay rich man," Wolf stripped out of his tank top to reveal his large chest. "So how do we find them? They're not exactly in the yellow pages."
That made the millionaire smirk. "We won't have to find them. They'll find us…"
Up in the sky, Goliath Hudson and Broadway all flew toward the Eyrie Building. They landed in the courtyard, then Goliath led the others inside the castle to look for the millionaire. He threw open the main doors that entered the great hall. In the middle, he saw Owen standing in the center.
"We're here to see Xanatos." Goliath growled.
"Alas, Mr. Xanatos is not here." Owen answered. A small smirk grazed his stone features. "It isn't him you want anyway. Your business, I believe, is with the Pack. Correct?"
Goliath's off-guard stance was all he needed.
"As you may know," Owen continued as he opened a little booklet in his hands.. "Their social calendar shows them arriving at Pack Media Studios any time now." He turned to the small group. "They're expecting you. Shouldn't you be there?"
Goliath narrowed his eyes as he realized something. The others could be in danger. He turned to leave with a growl.
"I'll speak to Xanatos later." Goliath turned and walked out, followed closely by Hudson and Broadway. Before they exited, Owen called out to them.
"Sooner than you think perhaps."
Over at another part of the city, Lexington, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Chelsea were perched on a rooftop overlooking the Pack Media Studios. They watched as police cars were parked in front of the studios. There guessing they were doing an investigation.
"That's a lot of police looking for the Pack." Chelsea stated, perched next to Bronx's left.
"Yeah," Brooklyn added. "We weren't the only ones who figured they'd be here."
"The police can have them," Lexington said with a snarl. "After I'm through with them."
That made the others turn to him with worry. Both gargoyles were worried at the smaller gargoyles bitter tone. Brooklyn turned to Chelsea with a questioning look, in which her answer was only a claw gesture to talk to the small gargoyle. He nodded, then looked at the smaller gargoyle.
"Look Lex, I know how you feel." Brooklyn told him. "You trusted them, and they used you. Nearly got you and Goliath killed." The red gargoyle turned away as he remembered something. "I feel the same way when somebody mentions Demona…" He breathed as the images of the red head lingered in his thoughts. Everytime he says her name, he was reminded of how much anger and betrayal he felt when she used him for her upper game.
Before he could do or say anything, he felt a claw on his shoulder that made his thoughts fade away in a brush. Brooklyn turned behind, and Chelsea stood behind him with her claw on his shoulder. Her small frown showing that she understands what he meant. Remember she felt those same feelings from the red-heads betrayal. He took her claw in his as he nodded in thanks.
Chelsea smiled, then looked up at the small gargoyle with a concerned face. "What Brooklyn was trying to explain, you can't let this…this anger consume you as it's doing to you now. We're only saying this because we're worried for you."
"You also need to remember what's really important." Brooklyn added as he stood next to the female. "Family, protecting our home."
"Look," Lexington turned to them with a glare. "You two have your priorities, and I have mine."
Brooklyn breathed, then placed his claws on his hips. "I got to tell you Lex, you starting to worry me."
"Your worrying both of us," Chelsea added, then gestured to the gargoyle beast behind them. "And Bronx too."
Lexington ignored them as he pointed a claw forward. "Look!"
The others followed and saw the police cars drive away from the studios. Leaving it bare and alone.
Brooklyn narrowed his eyes. "Guess it's a no show."
"I'm checking it out!" Lexington leapt forward, gliding down toward the lone building, leaving the rest alone on the rooftop.
"Huh, and I thought we made a good speech." Chelsea argued crossing her arms.
Brooklyn sighed, then turned to the other gargoyles. "Come on guys. No sense staying up here where it's safe."
Both gargoyles took a hold of the beast, then followed there comrade into the Pack Media studio. When they entered, they found the studio to be empty with only a few old props and some junk.
"Nobody home," Brooklyn looked down at the smaller gargoyle with a slight glare. "Happy now?"
That made Lexington sighed in frustration.
"Maybe you're right…" he admitted.
Bronx came forward as he sniffed the ground. When he caught something, he gave out a low growl which startled the three gargoyles.
"What's the matter Bronx?" Chelsea came forward to the beast. When she stood next to the garg beast, her foot seemed to have picked up the beasts warning.
She looked down as she tapped her foot a few times, which made a ricocheting sound. Her mind clearly remembered hearing this when she first arrived. She turned to the two males.
"It's hollow."
Before anybody could ask her, the ground started shaking beneath them and the floor began to open to reveal a bright light. The gargoyles took a step back as a hidden landing pad began lifting off into the studio. On the pad was a large futuristic air ship that they've never seen before.
The four got into battle stances as the large door of the ship opened, and someone coming out.
"Now, they know how to make an entrance." Brooklyn said sarcastically as he pointed at the airship.
Chelsea turned to him with an annoyed look. "Seriously?"
Coming out of the airship was none other than Wolf, who gave off a greedy smile. That made Lexington's muscles flex as his eyes began to glow. His reaction was not unnoticed.
"Brooklyn." Chelsea gasped.
Brooklyn went into gear as he gripped Lexington around the waist and held him tight.
"Wait! We need a plan." He whispered to him.
The rest of the Pack came out and stood together with equal smirks as Wolf's. The green gargoyle snarled as he smacked Brooklyn straight into Chelsea and he jumped to attack Wolf on the floor.
Chelsea groaned as she was sandwiched between Brooklyn and Bronx. She looked in front of her with a glare. "Was this part of the plan?"
"It is now," the red gargoyle answered as he went to his feet. He turned to help Chelsea on her feet, then they and Bronx turned to the Pack. "Let's go!"
The three charged toward the fight with Brooklyn going after Dingo, Bronx going after Jackal, and Chelsea going after Hyena. Jackal threw Bronx off of him and did a roundhouse kick at Brooklyn. Hyena dodged one of Chelsea's punches, then came around her to wrap an arm around the gargoyles' neck.
"How does it feel to be confined?" Hyena sneered in her ear.
That made the female gargoyle snarl, and her eyes glowed bright red. "Not pretty." She then exclaimed as her tail coiled around Hyena's leg. Hyena didn't have time to react as she was dragged underneath the gargoyle, and the next thing she knew, she was thrown a good 8 feet in the air to some empty boxes.
Coming out of the ship, Coyote was watching the whole fight keenly, and looked like was about to join the fight. Before he could, Bronx tackled him and was biting his arm hard. With a mighty swing, Bronx got thrown, hit through a plaster wall, and was bounced against the concrete wall. The beast was knocked out.
Over at Brooklyn, he was dodging Jackal's punches with accuracy. When the man threw another punch, the gargoyle dodged it, then did an uppercut. The man slammed against the wall, making the red gargoyle smirk with pride.
"Not so fast now, eh Jackal?"
Unbeknownst to the gargoyle, Dingo threw something small onto Brooklyn's back, which made him exclaim as electricity course through him.
"Brooklyn!" Chelsea cried seeing her friend fall to the ground. She yowled as she pounced toward Dingo. The man must have seen her coming as he threw another disk at her chest, which made her screech, then slid on the metal platform with a grunt. She was knocked out cold.
At Lexington, he and Wolf were still at it. While Wolf was trying to find a way to attack, the small gargoyle was taunting him to come at him. That made the man yell as he ran forward, but the small quickly evaded him as Wolf slid on the ground.
Before Lex could celebrate, Wolf came at him again.
"You miserable lizard. I'll turn you inside out!" Wolf goes to punch, only for Lexington to dodge and punch the man hard in the face.
His ears twitched as the small gargoyle heard someone land behind him. He turned, only to exclaim as Coyote shot pulsating waves through his skull and fell next to his brother. The Pack stood around them as Dingo dropped Chelsea with the other two.
"Nighty night," Jackal sneered. "Don't let the bedbugs bite…"
A while later, Goliath Broadway and Hudson arrived at the studio. As the entered, they looked like they've missed everyone else because it was completely empty.
Hudson stepped forward as he inspected some claw marks on the floor.
"There was a struggle here." He noted.
That made the other two stand on edge. The old gargoyle didn't have to answer who had won.
Out of nowhere, the wall phone right next to Broadway rang. Just as he was to pick it up, he turned to his leader, who nodded, then he picked it up to his ear.
"Um…hello?" Broadway asked.
"Good evening," It was Owen. "Broadway is it? I've been instructed to invite you to an intimate soiree the Pack is having tonight. If your friends are free around midnight, please consider attending. On the oil tanker Otoshiana Maru in the middle of the bay. I believe some of your party are already in attendance."
The call ended, which Broadway held the phone with a tight fist. He turned to his clan with a growl.
"The Pack has them…"
The Otoshiana Maru was not only a storage for crude oil, but also a huge ship that stood in the middle of the bay. Inside the storage area, the three gargoyles and beast laid imprisoned by the Pack.
While Bronx was scratching the wall in panic, Lexington groaned as he slowly regained consciousness. He slowly turned to Brooklyn, who was pounding the floor with his claws.
"Solid steel," Brooklyn examined. "And I don't know how many feet thick."
A strain of metal was heard from above. Both males turned above and saw Chelsea grunting and struggling with their guessing a valve door in the ceiling. She soon slid down the two flights of stairs along with a ladder and joined them in their small circle.
"Our only escape is shut tight." Chelsea stated, standing next to Brooklyn. "They must have locked us from the outside." She laid a claw on her hip. "We're stuck here."
Lexington growled, then walked over to them. "We almost had 'em!"
"Oh, really Lex?" the female narrowed her eyes.
"They were sure begging for mercy." Brooklyn added sarcastically. He then thought of something. "How come whenever the three of us take Bronx out, we wind up like this?"
"I don't know," the female looked down at him. "Sheer luck?" The hothead shrugged up at her.
Their attention turned as they saw Bronx whining as he struggled on the wall. Several scratch marks were shown as he stopped. He turned to them with worry.
"Don't worry Bronx," Brooklyn assured. "Goliath will find us."
That made Lexington snarl. "I don't need Goliath's help." His eyes soon glowed white. "I can take them by myself!" The smaller gargoyle walked past them and made his way to the walls.
"Lex," The hothead stood up. "You're not off to a great start." He was completely ignored as Lexington pounded the walls hard.
That made the red gargoyle shook his head, then turned to the female. A frown shed on his beak.
"Remind me, why we haven't done anything stupid to him?"
She turned to him, crossing her arms in the process. "Because he's the youngest."
"Yeah," Brooklyn put his claws to his brow, then turned back to her. "But sometimes-"
"I know." Chelsea turned to the small gargoyle with a frown. Her claws tightening into a fist. "I have the same temptation."
On the upper deck, the Pack were preparing themselves for the upcoming battle with the rest of the gargoyles. The weapons were provided by Coyote, in which they had equal smirks on their faces. While checking the aim on his gun, Dingo spoke up.
"Do you think they'll come?" he turned to them, propping his gun in his holder. "They got to know it's a trap."
"They'll come." Coyote answered.
The Pack formed into a circle, their weapons prepped and aimed at the misty night sky. Looking up, they were all on edge as they awaited their prey that don't disappoint. Suddenly, beats of leather were heard through the clouds and a roar sounded through the distance.
Coyote turned and pointed upward. "They're coming from the side." He took a shot, which illuminated the sky for a second to see two silhouettes of the gargoyles and disappeared.
Up in the sky, Broadway dived down behind, in the process tackling the Pack out of their personal circle. He turned, seeing Coyote coming at him. As he was ready for a fight, the armored being jumped over him and landed on an upper deck toward the corner. He saw Goliath swoop down, following him toward the shadows.
The sound of echoed banging was heard, making Broadway turn to a large metal valve chained to the floor a few feet to his left. Coming forward, he grabbed the valve with a steady grip and tried to turn the valve.
Unbeknownst to him, Wolf saw the gargoyle trying to free his friends, and tried to attack from behind. The potbelly must have noticed him because all Wolf got was his face slammed on the valve.
Over at Hudson, who just landed, was surrounded by Jackal Hyena and Dingo. He narrowed his eyes as all three of them were inching closer to him, wanting to end him right where he stood. His eyes turned on each of them, studying there every move. From there sharp clawed gauntlets to there tightened fists, trying to figure out an angle to fight them. A plan slowly started forming in his mind as he brought his sword out in front of him.
"Come on then," Hudson taunted. His wings flexing over him. "Were none of us getting any younger."
At behind, Dingo charged forward, in which the older gargoyle jumped in the air to dodge. His wings helping him land gracefully on the deck. Jackal was next with his claws but were sliced off by Hudson's sword. Without a weapon, Jackal was lifted up, then thrown over the laid-out Dingo on the ground. Hyena tried to maim the gargoyle with her claws, but Hudson used his wing as a shield, then thew her toward Broadway. In doing that, they broke off the valve, and in process both slammed into some stacked oil cans.
"Thanks for the help," the potbelly said as she laid unconscious on his chest.
Coming out of the hole, Lexington clambered out followed by Brooklyn and Chelsea. Bronx came out last as the others jumped into the fight. The olive gargoyle instantly going after Dingo in a wrestle.
On the other side of the ship, Coyote rounded a corner and hid against a doorway. Goliath landed, his back turned to his enemy, not noticing he was behind the lavender gargoyle. The armored man brought out his gun, in which the gargoyle heard and turned to him with a growl. He ran forward, only for the pulsing waves to stop his tracks and crumble his body down. He held his head as his mind turning disoriented as the rays pulsed through his skull.
Goliath looked forward, only to notice Coyote readying another gun to finish him off. With power, he slammed his fist into the floor, shook the ground, and a wave of panels came out making Coyote lose his balance. In the process, making him lose fire and hit the oil cans down below in an explosion.
The gargoyle jumped forward, slamming Coyote up against the wall. He ripped of the golden mask and was shocked at who was underneath it.
"Xanatos." He growled.
The millionaire smirked. "It's nice to see you too, Goliath."
The man pushed the gargoyle away, then jumped down to the bottom deck where the fires were. Goliath jumped to the fires as he and the millionaire continued to fight. As they fought, both seemed to be in equal combat.
At another part of the deck, the rest of the gargoyles were continuing their own fights. Lexington and Broadway were fighting the twins, Hudson was fighting with Dingo, while Chelsea was wrestling with Wolf.
Wolf grunted as he locked arms with the female gargoyle. "How did I get myself fighting against you?"
"Funny," Chelsea replied with a grunt. "I was about to ask you the same question."
Wolf growled, then kneed the gargoyle in the stomach. Chelsea grunted, then felt herself being held in the air, and thrown to the ground. The she-gargoyle tried to regain her footing but felt the man's bear hands wrap around her neck and blocking her airway. She gasped as she gripped her attacker's wrists trying to pry them off but couldn't.
"And I thought you would put up a fight." The man sneered as he tightened his grip. He cackled as he heard Chelsea cough.
Before he could do anything else, a screech was heard, and Brooklyn came tacking the large man, freeing Chelsea from her strangle. The man shook his head from the ground, then glared at the red gargoyle.
"Hey!" Wolf tried to attack the male gargoyle, only to be uppercut hard, then was lifted in the air, and got slammed hard on the ground.
Brooklyn turned to Chelsea who was slowly getting to her feet. He jumped to her, then held her on her shoulders as she went to her feet.
The female turned to him with smile. "Thanks."
"Don't mention it." He replied.
About that time, Hudson was still fighting Dingo, in which the older gargoyle was trying not to get in a choke hold. He didn't let that happen as he manage to hold the man in place and hoisted him in the air. He threw him in the air toward an unconscious Wolf.
"Stay down, blast ya!" he threatened with glowing eyes.
Over at Lexington, he had just lifted Jackal in the air, then tossed him away with a feral growl. Unbeknownst to the gargoyle, Dingo crept behind him aiming a gun at him.
"Say your prayers beast…" he sneered as his gun whined with power.
Suddenly, Broadway quickly grabbed the man's gun, and bent it like a pipe cleaner. He threw it onto Dingo's chest, and the man was down for the count.
Back with Goliath and Xanatos, they were still going head-to-head. Both looked like they were in an even match from both sides, until Xanatos found a loophole… As he found the upper strength, the millionaire took ahold of Goliath's face, and readied his cannon for the finishing blow.
Before it could happen, Bronx came barging in, tackling the man down in a heap. In a loud snarl, the beast took a large bite out of the millionaires head, then was thrown off in great velocity. The man stood up, only to reveal half of his face as a silver skull, or in other words-
"He's a robot!" Dingo gasped, not expecting this reveal.
"A robot?" Hyena gave a sly smirk as she examined the man more. "Even better."
The robot was about to strike at Goliath until a hole had been blasted in the center of his chest by Lexington. The smaller gargoyle smirked with triumph.
"Now that felt good." He admitted.
"I…will have my…revenge." The robot wheezed out until Goliath jumped forward, kicked the robots head off toward the Pack's feet. The group turned to the gargoyles who grouped together behind Lexington who lifted the gun up with pride.
"Whose next?" the gargoyle taunted.
Jackal turned behind, more explosions were heard, and the fires were spreading quickly on the deck. He turned to his sister and took her arm.
"Things are about to become complicated." He admitted with a frown. "Let's book sis." He ran toward the railing, followed closely by his sister and the rest of the Pack Members.
Lexington snarled. "No!"
The Pack jumped over the railing, and into the waters below. Instead of the sound of splashing, the sound of engines were heard, and the Pack's ship rose into view. Lexington tried to get an aim at the ship, but another explosion knocked him down. Looking up, he saw the ship getting farther away.
Another explosion rocked the boat, sending Brooklyn flying smacked into a pole hard, and hit the ground unconscious. Slowly, he slid down toward the edge of the boat headfirst into the dark waters.
"Oh no you don't!" Chelsea ran forward.
Before the hot head could fall down, the female grabbed his wrist, but felt herself following him through. Thinking quickly, she grabbed the railing with her open claw, and now both gargoyles were hanging at the edge of the boat.
"This could be worse," her eyes caught light down at the bottom, and saw oil spawned fire expanding onto of the ocean. She gulped. "Okay, it just got worse!" She grunted, feeling her grip shaking because of holding the out cold hothead. She also realized that she couldn't catch an updraft in her position.
Back over with Lexington, he was getting ready to aim at the Pack ship. Before he could, his eye piece took notice of Chelsea's claw shaking at the edge of the ship, realizing she must be holding Brooklyn too. He then looked up at the airship. He has to make a choice. Save his siblings or shoot down the Pack?
"You can't let this…this anger consume you as it's doing to you now…You also need to remember what's really important…family..."
Chelsea and Brooklyn's words echoed through the green gargoyles mind as he tried to make his decision. His eye piece saw the Pack getting further away, almost out of reach, then turned back to Chelsea whose fingers were holding her up. What should he do?
Chelsea strained as she felt her fingers were holding her and Brooklyn. She looked down and saw she still had a good grip on the red gargoyle. Then saw the fiery pit below them both. In a second, her grip let go of the railing, her body felt like a rock heading toward an endless watery pit. That feeling stopped as she felt a claw grab her wrist. She looked up and saw Lexington's body hanging over the railing as he held her.
"Need a lift?" he asked with a smirk.
Chelsea's face brightened. "Thought you never asked."
The smaller gargoyle heaved, bringing Chelsea to safety over the railing first. Both gargoyles then brought Brooklyn to the edge.
More explosions erupted as the fires expanded more. Goliath Hudson and Bronx circled Coyote's head, but it rocketed out into the sky, leaving the gargoyles in the smoke.
"Blast! They got away!" Hudson exclaimed. "All of them."
Another explosion shook the Otoshiana Maru, this one hit the boiler room. A large hole formed on the side, and gushes of seawater flowed through the interior. In mere seconds, it filled to the brim.
The clan stood together as the ship began to turn, making them lose their balance as it went down. As the front of the ship went down, the back rose up out of the water, making the gargoyles lose their footing and nearly fall. One by one, each of them jumped into the air to get away from the flames and hot steam.
At the end of the, Bronx whimpered as the ocean was coming closer and closer to him. He looked around, not seeing any of his clan-mates anymore. As the beast howled in distress, Goliath swooped down and came to his rescue.
Over at another part, Brooklyn Lexington and Chelsea glided next to one other. The red gargoyle turned the female.
"Uh, thanks for saving my bacon before it got fried." He told her with an awkward voice.
"It wasn't all me," she replied. "Thank Lexington, he saved both of our…bacon." she answered that last part with a confused look.
"What?" The hothead blinked, then a smile formed on his beak as he turned to his brother. "Thanks Lex."
"Hey, I'm used to it," Lexington shrugged. "Besides, it helped me get my priorities straight."
As Lexington glided forward, Brooklyn and Chelsea stayed back to look at the former gargoyle.
"I guess he did listen." Chelsea noted.
Brooklyn nodded. "Us almost falling in the pits of despair paid it off."
"Yeah well," the female turned to the hothead with a worried look. "Let's hope that is his only lesson. I don't want to go through with that ever again." She shook her head as she flapped her wings to catch up with Lexington, leaving Brooklyn alone to think at what she said.
"Yeah," he nodded. "Me too."
The hothead flapped forward and followed his clan-mates. As they left, the remnants of the Otoshiana Maru disappeared under the sea, leaving behind a few more explosions of smoke and fire.
The next morning, Fox stood in front of the parole board. Wearing her finest business attire, and her orange hair pulled in a nice low ponytail, she stood before them with her head low. Her face expressionless as she listened to them.
"Taking into consideration your overall exemplary behavior," The head of the board started. "And particularly your decision to serve your time and help the guard during the recent escape of your former accomplices, this board hereby grants you an early parole."
Fox opened her eyes; a small smirk grazed her lips as she nodded at the board in thanks.
Outside the prison gates, Fox walked toward the lone limousine that stood in front of her. The limo door was opened by none other than Owen, wearing his driver's outfit. The woman nodded at the man in thanks as she entered the car.
Inside, she pulled out her ponytail, then went into the arms of David Xanatos. They embraced, kissing once with passion.
"I've missed you." Xanatos breathed as they left each other's lips.
"Not as much as I missed you." Fox replied. She turned as Xanatos still held her. "So, who won?"
"It never mattered. That was merely the icing, you're the cake."
They kissed once more, this time with more passion than the last. They let go but were still inches away from one another.
"The whole escape was staged to give your shot at an early parole." Xanatos continued. His eyes taking in as much as Fox as he could. He turned down to his wrapped packaged and opened it to reveal Coyote's head he found this early morning. "Plus, I got a chance to test this prototype humanoid robot."
Fox turned to him with a frown. "But they've destroyed it. What about your revenge?"
"Revenge, as they say, is a sucker's game." The millionaire answered. "Robots are nothing, Fox my dear. I can build a dozen more like this one." He turned back to her, taking her face in his hand. "True love is so much harder to come by."
With that, he took Fox to his lips, this time this kiss had more passionate than the last. As they kissed, Owen started the car, and both drove off away from Riker's Island.
OH MY GOD! That took forever!
The beginning of Season 2 is finally here, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I wrote it! Hopefully, I can update my other story soon rather than later. Hope you enjoyed this, and be ready for more chapters!
Characters from Gargoyles belong to Greg Weisman. He is the true mastermind of these fun-loving characters. I'm just writing them for mere fun and learning to write.
Chelsea belongs to me.
