November 1st very early morning
"Urggh." A low groan escaping my lips as I stir from unconsciousness. Noticing that I'm in a dark and silent room, the infirmary actually, since its identical to where I wound up after the disastrous Flying lesson. My body actually hurting even more then it did back then and I notice a small cast on my right arm, keeping me from fully moving it around despite it feeling not broken anymore.
Looking around and seeing nobody nearby and combined with how dark it is I can only presume that its the middle of the night. "Well, not what I was expecting to be sure." I say to myself, contemplating if I should get out of bed or go back to sleep. Actually, why do either when theres something much more important to go over.
"I've been having way to many close encounters lately. At this rate I may not even make it past this year if this keeps up." Leaning my head back I stare up at the ceiling, my mind wandering and going over what happened the day before. Thinking of how I could have done better and not taken damage at all if I'd thought things through or just used my Teleport Skill. Hell, I didn't even think to grab that Coat of Oaths I got from the Gacha, that would've assisted somewhat as well.
"You can't keep goofing off like this Rin." I say to myself, looking back down and bringing up my Status screen see. "Status." The window appearing in front of me as I'm staring at the Stat Points available.

As much as I was wanting to wait until second year to use any of these, I don't think I can. Nearly getting caught by a Horcrux, and now barely escaping from a Troll and whatever a Tebo is, can't really keep risking it. So how do I want to use all of these?
"I guess everything to at least 100 sounds good? Ya, lets go with that. Game, use my Stat Points to raise my Strength, Endurance, Dexterity and Charisma Stats to 100, and raise Intelligence and Wisdom to 200." I tell the Game, watching as the Stat Points number rapidly begins decreasing.

Woah. That was a lot more then I was expecting. My Statistics gained a massive increase and I certainly wasn't trying for that. Very annoying though that I probably won't be able to increase my Stats through work anymore. Unless theres a Skill that I could learn later on that makes that easier of course.

Duke of Wisdom and Uchiha's Heir made it a lot easier on my Intelligence and Wisdom Stats, so thats definitely helpful. Barely even used half my Stat Points for that. I'll hold on to the rest for a bit and see how that goes for now I suppose.
"Ok, now I need to really focus on Skills. Magic Arrow was incredibly helpful but I can't really practice that at the moment unless I wanna end up destroying things around the castle. Teleport would be good but I don't want to be caught being able to do that inside Hogwarts despite its Anti-Apparition Wards." Mumbling all of this to myself as I look through my list of Skills.
Eventually I end up focusing on my Mana Circuits and Mana Sense Skills. The only ones I can reasonably focus on at the moment in the Infirmary. Having chosen those I begin focusing on trying to meditate, working to slow and regulate my breathing.
It takes me awhile but I do end up getting it to work. The sensation of my Mana Circuits gaining strength oddly warm under my skin, to the point I almost felt like if someone touched me they'd think I had a fever going.

After just a couple hours of meditation I manage a full two Rank increase in Mana Circuits. Not sure how helpful it'll be at the moment but once I learn some more offensive Skills it should show its effectiveness.
During that time I made sure to work on smelling the different forms of mana in the air with Mana Sense. Was a lot more difficult cause how does one describe or notice what mana smells like you know? But eventually, through trial and error I do manage a rank up with it.

Thank goodness for that Savant Perk I grabbed. Otherwise I don't think this would be anywhere close to possible in this time frame and I need to be gaining power as soon as possible. Mana Sense does seem to be kinda redundant with me already having Mana Sensing which works no matter what and has a much bigger range, but who knows, maybe one day it'll come in helpful.
"Miss Fraener? Are you awake?" A voice sounds from the back of the Infirmary, Madam Pomfrey having just walked out of what I can only assume is her quarters hidden in the back.
"Oh thank goodness! I was quite worried when Professor Sinistra brought you in so banged up yesterday." She explains, sitting beside the bed I'm in as she waves her wand over, most likely running some sort of diagnostic spell over me. "Now, is there anything hurting at all? A throbbing or sharp pain anywhere?" She asks as she puts her wand away to begin pulling my cast off, slowly unrolling each part of it.
"No Madam Pomfrey. Everything actually feels really good, I'd say I feel even better then before I got injured yesterday." I explain to her, watching as the cast comes off and I can stretch my arm out fully, letting her see that I'm much better.
Madam Pomfrey smiles and makes to say something else when the doors burst open. Professors Snape walking in slowly and Professor Sinistra hurrying over to me, followed by Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall who stay back a bit to let me breathe easily.
"Ah Rin! Its so good to see you ok." Professor Sinistra exclaims, hugging me lightly for a moment before stepping back. "I was quite worried seeing you the way you were in the corridor. And then you suddenly collapsed when we arrived was not what any of us wanted to see." Her words coming out a mile a minute before Professor Snape coughs lightly into his hand to interrupt. "O-oh! Sorry, I'll let you address her Severus."
"Thank you." He says in his normal oily voice, turning to address me. "I'll keep this brief Miss Fraener, as the Headmaster will have his own questions to ascertain what happened to leave a corpse of a Troll and the bloody remains of a Tebo smeared across the third floor corridor. So, first off know that I do not say this often but I am proud to see one of my Slytherins capable of such a feat, assuming you did do it, and that I expect to see a remarkable improvement in your schoolwork from here on out if you are capable of doing this." He finishes his little speech by withdrawing a book from within his robes and placing it on the table next to my bed. "Once you are out of here feel free to explore the contents of this book, I'm sure you'll find it enlightening." He then turns, swishing his robes and leaves the infirmary.
[5 Affection with Professor Snape]
Headmaster Dumbledore chuckles from in front of the bed, "Well, its certainly been awhile since I've seen Severus show any sort of pride in a student, even one of his own. Especially enough to loan them one of his own personal books for advanced learning." At my questioning look he gestures to the book Professor Snape left behind. Grabbing it and checking the cover I'm quite shocked to see its name: The Prince's Guide to Potions and Magical Ailments.
Who could have ever guessed that Snape would have actually published his own book on potion-making? Especially under the name he used as a child. This universe is diverting more and more as I look at it.
"Did... did Professor Snape write this?" I ask Dumbledore, keeping the facade that I'm unaware of anything in the magical world.
"Why yes, yes he did. Your Head of House is a remarkable Potions Master. I dare say he's one of if not the best there is nowadays." Dumbledore explains, a mirthful smile on his face before waving his hand and changing the subject. "But we have more important things to discuss, such as how you were able to kill both a Troll and a Tebo Miss Fraener." A tone of finality coming from him, making it clear there won't be an interruption or anyway of getting away with not answering.
I gulp at the pressure he's exerting towards me, an unfathomable depth of magic coming from him according to my Mana Sensing. Better be sure to convince him of what I can do.
"Well... uh Headmaster. I did this..." My voice trailing off as I raise my hand, silently forming the mana generated from my body into an arrow. A Magic Arrow now floating above my hand, before I then mentally fire it, letting hit the wall, a small couple of pebbles breaking off and hitting the ground.
Professor McGonagall gasps at seeing a display of wand-less magic in that form, wondering how I could do something like that. Headmaster Dumbledore on the other hand merely looks at me knowingly, as if this was something he expected to see.
[10 Affection with Headmaster Dumbledore]

What?
"I see." He says, motioning for me to make another one, which I do. The mana becoming easier to manipulate as I do so again and again.

Well I guess that explains why its becoming easier? Ah who knows. For all I can tell I could just be getting used to the shape the mana flows when making my Magic Arrow.
"Fascinating." Headmaster Dumbledore's words snapping me back to the situation. "To be capable of such magic at your age is nothing short of remarkable Miss Fraener. How long have you been able to do this?" He asks, drawing his wand out of his robes and pointing it at the Magic Arrow, examining it better with his own spells.
"Oh uh, ever since I was attacked in the Lost and Found Room. I figured that I'd need some way of defending myself better if I was attacked again and started working on this. I call it the Magic Arrow." I explain to him and Professor McGonagall, who is still amazed at me for accomplishing this. She'd hate to learn that I essentially bought the Skill without knowing anywhere near how it works.
The two of them look at me briefly before Professor McGonagall sighs, turning away and exclaiming, "Albus, you'll be better at handling this so I'll let you explain things to her." She begins walking away and out the Infirmary doors, muttering to herself. "My goodness! Barely a first year and already creating their own spells now."
I look confused at her before returning my gaze to the Headmaster, "Is there something wrong?" I ask him, unsure of why Professor McGonagall would be acting this way.
Dumbledore chuckles lightly before answering, "Not at all Miss Fraener. She's merely surprised that you'd be capable of it after barely two months of using magic. Now, why don't you tell me how your spell works? After all, we'll be needing to make a trip to the Ministry tomorrow to register the spell there. I have no doubt you'll be able to make quite the fortune from doing so." He explains, stroking his beard as he does so.
"Register my spell?" I question, unable to keep my disdain from my voice at sharing something of mine with random people. The Ministry especially so, with how backwards and slow working the place is.
"Do you not wish to? If not then we won't go there. But considering you were wanting to get ahold of money for outside of school activities it would probably be beneficial." Dumbledore begins to explain, his grandfather act on full blast today it seems. Well two can play at that game Headmaster.
I pretend to think it over for a moment before asking in return. "What are the benefits to going to the Ministry and registering my spell? I'd like to weigh my pros and cons before deciding." I tell him, resolute in not being pulled around at his will.
A smile crosses his face as he hums in thought, "The pros and cons you say. Well Miss Fraener, you'd be given money and recognition for the creation of a spell. Even more-so for a more complicated spell such as your Magic Arrow." At his words I do wonder if the money would be worth it, especially if they see something like Magic Arrow to be worthwhile with how simple it is. "The cons though, well, that is a more difficult question. Many older families such as those of your friends Miss Greengrass and Miss Davis would balk at sharing the spells known in their families. They typically view it as the Ministry stealing their families work and would rather no one but their children have any knowledge of them." He explains, his words painting a well enough picture for what I could have already assumed.
"So Miss Fraener, I'd personally say there isn't much in the way of cons for registering a spell with the Ministry. Though if you are still hesitant, there isn't any requirement or time limit on when you can do so. So feel free to wait till you wish to do so." He waves his wand after explaining this to me, summoning a couple of other books onto the table beside the one Professor Snape left. "Those will explain the intricacies of wizarding law and regulations for creating spells, be sure to read them in your off time and if you ever do decide to register your spell or spells in the future then let me or a Professor know." After saying that he begins walking towards the entrance of the Infirmary, only looking back once he reaches the door. "And Miss Fraener, I wish you the best of luck in not ending up in here the rest of the year."
With those final words he leaves, Madam Pomfrey speaking up now that its just me and her in here. "Finally. You'd think they could all wait to inform you of all of this till I was done making sure you were ok." She exclaims exasperatedly, waving her wand in complicated motions around and over me, for a moment.
"Well. You seem to be back in tip top performance Miss Fraener. To echo what the Headmaster said, please do be careful and don't wind up here again this year ok?" Her voice stern and unforgiving if it does happen.
"Y-yes ma'am. I will be certain to do that." Stammering out a response as I climb out of the bed and grabbing ahold of the books I was left. "And um... Madam Pomfrey, would it be ok for me to learn some healing spells from you at some point? That might make it easier for me to not end up here again." I ask, preparing to leave but hopeful I can get some additional spells.
Madam Pomfrey chuckles at my question before answering. "Oh Miss Fraener, come ask again once you're at least in your fifth year. The coursework needed to do use any sort of healing spell won't be covered till at least then. Now run along, and be sure to get some rest just to be sure." She mentions, waving her hand to shoo me out the doors.
"Yes Madam Pomfrey. Thank you once again for taking care of me." I say as I leave, hugging my books to me as I hurry towards the Slytherin Common Room.
As I get inside and into my dormroom I'm greeted by Daphne and Tracey in the middle of getting their stuff for class today. The both of them stop though after they see me.
"Rin!" They both exclaim as they rush towards me, tackling me over and onto the floor with a loud thud and shout. "Ouch!"
"Rin what happened?! They said you killed the Troll wandering the halls, is it true?" Daphne asks after the two of them climb off of me, Tracey looking mildly embarrassed at doing so.
"Y-ya, there was also whatever a Tebo is." I explain, Tracey and Daphnes eyes widening at the information, Daphne grabbing ahold of me in a tight hug.
"I... I was worried when you didn't make it back from speaking to Potter and Weasley and thought they did something to you." She sniffles lightly causing me to frown into her shoulder. "Please stop doing this Rin. I... Me and Tracey don't want to keep seeing you get hurt so much."
Tracey agrees, catching my attention from behind the two of us, "Ya Rin. If something is gonna happen then let us know so we can help. Can't have all the fun yourself y'know?" She says, a grin on her face as she joins the group hug.
"Alright..." I tell them, agreeing to do my best to not get hurt or into trouble with anything for as long as possible. Though I do warn them that sometimes things will happen with or without my wanting them to.
"So also, I'd like to show you guys this." Raising my hand, palm up and forming my Magic Arrow. Letting it slowly float above my palm so they can examine it.
"This is something I've been working on for awhile and I managed to use it to take down the Troll and the Tebo thing yesterday. Its my new spell Magic Arrow and I was wondering if you two would like to learn it next free day?" I ask the two of them, to which they both excitedly agree.
We make it to class eventually, just barely crossing the doorway as it is about to begin. Surprisingly though, Professor Quirrell is joined by Headmaster Dumbledore, the two of them having what seems to be an important discussion at the front of the room.
"What do you think they're talking about?" I ask Daphne after we take our seats. The conversation between the two finishing with Dumbledore making some kind of final statement and leaving the room.
"Hmmmuuuugh." Professor Quirrell sighs abruptly before us. Looking us over briefly with a haggard look on his face, he then begins to speak, "I-I apologize for t-that class. We were d-discussing how best to a-address everyones thoughts on the monsters made it inside t-the school yesterday. Know that w-we the Professors will d-do everything we can to protect you." He stutters through his statement, very clearly not going to be doing that, especially since he ran off leaving me to deal with the Troll and Tebo yesterday. Bastards lucky I didn't rat him out to the Professors. Need to wait till I can get to the Mirror of Erised where the Philosopher's Stone is held before letting everyone know.
"N-now then, t-to help you all p-prepare in case something like t-that happens again, I'll b-be showing you all a sp-spell to protect yourselves with." Brandishing his wand he prepares a spell before calling out to the class. "I w-will need a v-volunteer for this." He asks the class, to which the lot of us look at each other, not sure if we should volunteer for a spell demonstration.
As Professor Quirrell looks over the class for a volunteer, I then raise my hand. "I volunteer Professor." I say aloud, already standing from my seat to come to the front of the class.
[1 Affection with Professor Quirrell]
"Thank you Miss Fraener." Said Professor Quirrell, surprisingly without his stutter it seems. "The spell we'll b-be practicing is the Body-Binding Curse, Petrificus Totalus. It will c-completely bind the opponents body f-for a brief moment of time." He explains, his eyes trained on me the whole time as if contemplating something.
"Very well Professor. I guess I just need to stand here and let it happen?" Asking as I take my place across from him, smirking in his direction as I prepare for the spell.
"Y-yes Miss Fraener." He prepares himself by taking a deep breath and swinging the wand in my direction. "Petrificus Totalus!" He shouts, the spell flying out of his wand towards me.
As I watch the spell fly towards me in that brief second, a ding sounds out, one of my Game screens appearing in my vision.
[Magic Contemplation Activated]
[Player has learned the Body-Binding Curse Petrificus Totalus]
As the spell hits me I can definitely say its not enjoyable. My arms and legs bound together or to my sides as I rock back and forth for a moment, before eventually falling onto my back on the floor, the class murmuring to themselves at the sight. I can vaguely see Professor Quirrell making his way nearby as he leans over me to speak in a quieter tone.
"Very well done Miss Fraener." His voice somehow becoming much smoother, but also taking on a darker undertone. "I'm going to undo the curse in just a moment, but let me just tell you one thing." He leans in a little further, to be sure no other students can hear. "I heard about you killing both the Troll and the Tebo. If you ever wish to... expand your knowledge in that direction, let me know. Theres no need to continue holding yourself back among the chaff filling this school." He leans back up and waves his wand down towards me and loudly says. "Reparifors!"
[Magic Contemplation Activated]
[Player has learned the Minor Healing Charm Reparifors]
As I feel the curse undo itself I then climb back to my feet, being sure to keep my eyes on Professor Quirrell the entire time. Eventually I speak up in response to his statement before. "I'll consider it Professor. May I return to my seat?" I inquire, slowly inching my way in that direction anyways.
Professor Quirrells eyes watch me closely, with an almost hawk-like intensity and answering. "You m-may Miss Fraener. N-now class, I w-want each of y-you to pair up a-and practice the spell." His stutter having miraculously returned as he addresses the rest of the class in how to perform the curse.
I make my way back into my seat, a frown adorning my face causing to Daphne to question whats wrong. "Don't worry Daph. Professor Quirrell was just saying that if I wanted I could come by outside of class to learn some more practical spells, since he can tell I'm pulling ahead of the others that are slacking off."
"I see." Daphne gains a thoughtful look on her face before adding on. "I think you should take his advice Rin. I mean, his stutter is pretty terrible but he does know what he's talking about from what I can tell. I'm sure theres lots of useful spells he can teach you in a one-on-one setting." She tells me, pulling her wand from her robes and pointing it towards me. "Now Rin, lets practice this spell like we're supposed to. Petrificus Totalus!" Said Daphne, the spell firing off at me and hitting me in the arm, a light tingling and stiffness coming from it.
"I'll think about it Daph. But for that cheap shot I'm gonna give it back a lot worse!" Waving my wand out at her in return and using the spell myself for the first time. "Petrificus Totalus!" The spell immediately hitting Daphne and perfectly working, causing her to fall to the floor in the same way I did.
"See~? Can't be underestimating me Daph~" I tease as I approach her petrified body and lean down next to her, a smug smile on my face while poking her petrified face. "I'll undo the spell for ya Daph, gimme just a moment to try this out." I continue messing with her for a moment and then using the spell to undo it. "Reparifors!"
Undoing the petrification on Daphne and helping her back to her feet, a scowl on her lips while brushing the dust from her robes. "Geez Rin. You can already use both spells that well? You haven't even practiced them yet!" She says as she stomps her foot to the side. So adorable~
"What can I say Daph~? I'm just awesome like that." I tease, sticking my tongue out at her as she groans.
"Insufferable is what you are Rin." Grumbling as she picks her wand back up and goes to practice the spell against me again. "Now stay still and let me practice. Since you've already got it down perfectly theres no reason I can't use you as a practice dummy. Petrificus Totalus!"
Another small version of the spell hits me in the stomach, tickling slightly as it merely bounces off. I cross my arms and await further attacks from Daphne while continuing to tease her relentlessly. "Is that really all you got Daph? Its barely more then a minor stinging feeling." At my continued goading she barrages me with more and more of the Body-Binding Curse. And of course the best thing pops up as this goes on.

Ooo~ nice. I should see if Daphne or the others wanna practice their spells on me more often. Maybe eventually I'll be able to completely shrug off waves of spells.
"You're just a monster Rin." Daphne tells me afterwards, the class having ended and the two of us heading towards the Library to join up with Tracey and Hermione.
Making it there we see that Neville has also joined us. "Hey there Neville. Glad to see you've decided to join us." I tell him, taking a seat next to Hermione and opening the book that Professor Snape lent me. Figuring that it'd be good to get an even higher level of understanding in Potions to see what all it can do for me.
"Rin? Where'd you get that?" Asks Hermione, having noticed that my Potions book is different then all the others.
"Hmm? Oh, Professor Snape gave it to me earlier. Figured I'd see what its all about since I have the rest of the day free." I respond, looking over the introduction of Potions listed out in the book.
Hermione leans over and begins looking at the title. "The Prince's Guide to Potions and Magical Ailments. I'll have to see if I can get one as well, is it any good?" She asks me before moving back towards her own books.
"Its a Potions Book Hermione, it gives information and thats all." Responding with a light chuckle, but continuing to read through the beginning of the book. Based on the stuff in here I might be able to max out my Potions Mastery before Christmas surprisingly enough.
"Umm... is it, ok to study whatever we want?" The timid voice of Neville speaks up, nervously clutching a Herbology textbook in front of him.
"Sure Nev. The only day we do required studying is on Sundays when we go over everything with each other." Tracey jumps into the conversation, holding her own Herbology book. "Speaking of Herbology though, would you mind helping me go over some stuff for it?" She asks, a nervous tilt to her voice at needing to do so.
Aww~ how adorable. I wonder if as the years go on I can push those two together. Eh, probably not. Probably shouldn't either to be honest.
All of us go back to our studying and almost miss the time we all need to head back. Gathering our things and making our way out of the Library and back to our Common Rooms.
"Feel free to join us again Neville. Always good to have some more friends to study with." I tell him as we make it to the split where us Slytherins head towards the dungeons and the Gryffindors head to their tower. Only just noticing that Neville has stopped walking with us. As we all turn and look we see him looking nervous and almost scared.
"F-friends? We're f-friends?" He asks, his lips and voice quivering as he questions if I meant what I said.
I can't say I'm really surprised by his reaction but it did catch me off guard at the moment. I do end up nodding and speaking up along with Daphne, Tracey and Hermione. "Of course Neville. So long as you wanna be friends then we can be." I respond to him, actually kinda agreeing with myself on enjoying his presence today.
