Sunday, December 15
I take another bite of bacon off my plate. "God, this food is just amazing. I don't think I can ever get tired of the Hogwarts food." Saying to myself as I look around the Great Hall, seeing just how few students have stayed behind over the Holidays.
Looking around the room I see over at the Gryffindor table with all of the Weasleys eating together, minus Harry for some reason. Maybe he took my words to heart? Meh, whatever, he could've actually gone back to the Dursley's for whatever reason.
The Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables have a few students here and there but none that I really know besides from class. Not like they'd wanna talk to a Slytherin anyways.
And finally, over here at the Slytherin table, even fewer students. The only ones I know are Blaise Zabini, who's stayed to himself this entire time, and Millicent Bulstrode, who has also stayed to herself so far. Kinda surprised Malfoy didn't stay to be honest, but I'm at least pretty thankful for it. Wouldn't wanna deal with his brattiness over the holidays.
"Well, I guess I can go look at the stuff Professor Snape gave me yesterday." I tell myself. Getting up from the table and heading out of the Great Hall, and on towards an empty classroom.
Eventually I find one somewhat close to Professor Quirrell's office. Wouldn't wanna have to run across the castle if I start to run late to be there after all.
"Alrighty, books first of course." Reaching my hand inside my Inventory and pulling out a few books.
Diverse Dragonology by Professor Anne
Quintessential Magic: An Introduction to Charms by Alexander Quilman
Wandlore for Beginners by Cochran
The Seer's Guide to Seering by Professor Wessex
Herbology for Dummies by Rosie Woudde
A Students' Guide to Essays by Mae Scorocornia
Cursebreaking for Curse Breakers by Bill Weasley
Hmm, they're alright books I suppose. Not quite what I was hoping for though. Couldn't they have gotten something a little more useful in there?
"Well no matter. Lets take a look at the money and other items then." I say, putting the books back into the Inventory and pulling out the small pouch of money and counting it out.
"18 Galleons, 6 Sickles, aaaaand 23 Knuts. Huh, I could probably fund the rest of my time at Hogwarts with all the money I have." Putting the money away into my Inventory and watching the counter go back up, showing how much money I have.
"Now for the other stuff." Pulling the other random items that Professor Snape gave me out and looking over them.
Some random bits of clothing that seems to be in working order, gloves, a couple scarfs, a monocle for some reason, nothing special basically.
Then theres some exploding snap cards, a music box playing some sort of jingle, 3 quills with their own inkpots, and funnily enough, a Rememball.
As I'm looking through these things I come upon a small stack of coins that I don't recognize. Picking them up to examine them, I'm surprised to hear a ding popping up.
[11 Gacha Coins Obtained]
Eh? Thats what Gacha Coins look like? And I can just find them out in the world?
"Wow. Thats certainly something I didn't expect. Lets get to rolling them real quick then." I say. Opening up the Gacha wheel and spending all 11 of them.

Well damn. That was an amazing haul from the Gacha. Especially those Skill Books!
"Well I'm definitely gonna go ahead and learn each of those." Quickly clicking on the Accept button for each Skill Book and gaining the knowledge for each of them.
"Now lets see. Structural Analysis!" I say promptly with my hand on the table, a ding popping up to inform me of its design.
[Wooden Table]
[A wooden table used for classwork]
Hmm a little underwhelming at the moment, but I'm sure it'll become much better after a couple rank ups. What about the Acid Magic one?
"Acid Magic!" Pointing my hand at the table this time, a small shot of yellowish green liquid flying off my finger and onto the table. The acid shot out then begins eating through the wooden table, a soft sizzling sound coming from it.
After staring at how slow it is I make a small comment to myself. "Well, just something else to work on I guess. And now for the other spell."
I then try out the Alarm spell, setting one with the Magic Arrow to fire in a minute. A Magic Arrow begins swirling around me until after a minute goes by, a loud ringing sound erupting out as it fires off and hits the wall. "Wow! Thats gonna be incredible!" I exclaim loudly to myself, my mind racing with different possibilities of what this spell can do.
"Well alrighty Rin, lets see what all of these other things can do."
Picking up the necklace, I then go ahead and put it on, figuring that it couldn't hurt to have on just in case.
"The sword though, not really something I can just have laying around so that'll just have to stay in the Inventory. Same with the car, clay kit, pocketwatch, and soda. Definitely don't need those any time soon. Actually, the phonebook isn't needed either." Talking to myself as I look over the items in my Inventory.
"Now, what about this Devil Fruit? I'm not against eating a Devil Fruit to be honest, but this is the Spring Spring Fruit. Not exactly a powerful one, and the no swimming drawback is pretty severe even if I'm not getting in water anytime soon." I muse to myself, before ultimately deciding to leave it in the Inventory for now.
And before I know it its time to get to Quirrell's classroom. Hurrying myself down the halls and entering the room, seeing him sitting behind his desk like the day before, looking up at my arrival.
"Ah Miss Fraener, glad to finally have you here." Quirrell says as he stands up from his chair, and circling around it to stand closer towards me. "How have you been dear? Didja finish the book I gave you before?" He asks cooly.
I stare for a moment, still somewhat unnerved by his presence but answer soon after. "Yes sir. I've read through it completely, and I think I know why you wanted me to do so." I begin saying, pulling the book from my Inventory and holding it out for him to take back.
"And what, pray tell, is it you think I wanted you to see in it?" A growing smirk on his face as he takes the book and tosses it behind him onto his desk.
"The... the final chapter of it, it talked about things called Horcruxes. Putting a piece of your soul into an object after committing an act of murder." I explain, a shudder passing through me as I think of those horrid things. "Its supposed to act as a way to achieve immortality, the Horcruxe working to anchor you to the mortal realm."
Quirrell lets out a small clap with his hands. "Very well done Miss Fraener, glad to see you can follow my instructions so well. Now, why do you think I wanted you to learn of it?" He asks.
I freeze at his words, the sudden thought of his question making me realize that I could be the sacrifice for a Horcrux now as well. "U-uh, I-I'm not sure Professor." Stammering at him as I try and mentally prepare an attack, the Magic Arrow and Teleport being queued up in preparation alongside Alarm.
"Hmph~ no need to be so worried Miss Fraener. If I wanted to use you as the sacrifice for a Horcrux then I already would have. No, I wanted you to know of these forms of magic, precisely because I believe you can improve them. Your 'Game' should be capable of improving the Horcrux ritual, making the burden it puts on its user much weaker and inconsequential." Quirrell explains, a surprisingly good lecture coming from him. "You see, I've been researching many things about Lord Voldemort for the past few years. His habits, spells, knowledge, anything and everything I could get ahold of that is connected to him."
"But, that day 11 years ago, when Harry Potter somehow destroyed him, I felt that something was off. Someone of his skill should never have been able to be killed by an infant, no matter how much 'talent' they may have." He says with disdain, his face twisting into a grimace at Harry's name.
"And then, word came that you happened upon a Dark object in the Room of Requirement. Congratulations by the way for finding it in your first year Miss Fraener." Quirrell's voice tinged with praise as he continues on. "The object in question though, the level of power it apparently contained could only have been something of Lord Voldemort's! I believe that it was a Horcrux of his that he hid during his time at Hogwarts." A maniacal look appearing on Quirrell's face as he looks me in the eye, hurriedly coming forwards and grabbing ahold of my shoulders.
"And now! You can perfect the Dark Lord's work Rin! You and your 'Game' can create the perfect Horcrux ritual! Allowing for true immortality!" Shaking me as he loudly announces his plans for me. Not what I was expecting from him.
"Please Rin. Work with me, let us achieve this great work and change the world." His face and voice now much softer and gentle, as if reliving the most beautiful dream.
Standing there for a moment unsure how to respond to such a proclamation. Only working up the courage after he lets go of my shoulders and steps back a bit.
"I... I don't know what you mean... Professor." I begin saying, steeling my nerves before continuing. "I mean... I know I have the Game assisting me, but I don't really know how to improve it. I can't even use the ritual at all right now." I try reasoning with him.
"That won't be a problem Miss Fraener. We won't be working on it till you've improved a lot more, especially in the Dark Arts. I may even need to introduce you to an acquaintance of mine to assist in your combative capabilities as well." He mentions.
I stare at him for a moment, thinking quickly at which option I should go with, finally deciding that there was really only one option available.
"I'll help... for now at least. Not like you'd give me much of a choice anyways." I say resolutely, much to his pleasure.
"Very true~ and I'm glad you've made the correct choice here Miss Fraener. Starting tomorrow, we'll be exploring the Lost and Found Room for more objects and books to examine, hopefully the other Professors haven't found anything I'd rather they didn't." He says to both me and himself.
Waving his wand briefly to bring out two potions from his desk, holding them out towards me before explaining. "Now drink both of these Miss Fraener. They're a Brain Elixir, which will boost your brain power and mental acuity, and a Wit-Sharpening Potion, to enhance the clarity of your thoughts. You'll be needing the assistance of both of these for the studies I'll be putting you through." He explains after handing them both to me.
As he explains things, I take the time to use Structural Analysis on both of the Potions to see if they are what he says they are.
[Brain Elixir]
[A potion to enhance one's mental power. Increases EXP gain for ones mental Stats depending on the skill of the brewer. This potion will increase mental Stat gain by 50%]
Holy... a whopping 50% gain in EXP for my mental Stats? That'd be my Intelligence, Wisdom, and possibly Charisma right? Damn, I'm gonna have to figure out how to make this thing myself. Drinking it down quickly while checking the other one. Hmm kinda minty tasting surprisingly enough.
[Wit-Sharpening Potion]
[A potion to keep one's head clear of confusion. Assists in preventing mental attacks to the drinkers mind depending on the skill of the brewer. This potion will increase mental defenses by 32%]
This ones also incredibly useful. I really need to start pouring over Professor Snape's book he left me. Theres probably an incredible amount of useful potions in there just waiting for me to brew up. Thinking all of this as I tilt my head back and down this potion as well, its much worse tasting flavor going down. Ugh, tastes like sandpaper...
After downing the two potions I can immediately feel the effects taking hold, my mind becoming much clearer and easier to form thoughts. The difference in quality from before and after taking the potions very clear.
"Wow... I didn't realize there was so much keeping my head full." I say aloud, Quirrell letting out a small laugh at my words before replying.
"Yes~ you'll notice things much easier now with those potions helping you. Just be careful, the effects will last about a day and you can't take them again for the next three days. If you do, you'll face drawbacks in the form of greater confusion and inability to control your thoughts." Quirrell explains to me, my mind racing at much greater speed as I plan out all my next actions.
"What else Professor?" I ask, wondering what else I'd need to do today since we've been talking for a while. The things I want to practice with now thanks to these potions having grown greatly.
"Heh~ that'll be all for today Miss Fraener." He begins saying. "We'll meet up at the entrance to the Lost and Found Room tomorrow after breakfast. This way we can get the most practice and time for searching in. Don't want to miss out on any more objects in there do we?" He asks rhetorically, before urging me out of the classroom and back into the halls. "Now be on your way Miss Fraener and I'll see you tomorrow." The door shutting after his words, leaving me by myself.
After a brief second of standing there, more so from surprise at the sudden ushering outside, I then make my way off to the Library. Deciding to try out my new mental clarity by reading through a bunch of different books available. Starting of course, with Professor Snape's Potions book.
I arrive at the Library and take a seat in the back, away from where anybody would be able to disturb me. Taking out the Potions book from my Inventory, I then begin looking over it in more detail, looking at what each of the Potions available in it are and how they're made.

Definitely beneficial stuff in here, but I'm gonna have to get ahold of a lot of ingredients to make anything worthwhile out of this.
"Time to really work at it Rin! Lets bust out the grinding again~!" Deciding to begin using Structural Analysis on everything nearby. The table, books, clothing, and as much else I can grab ahold of.
Welcome once again everybody~
This was a rather fun chapter to write, Quirrell as an actually competent person makes him much more interesting to write. Especially since I don't have to write the constant stuttering which gets old real fast to write and I'm sure to read.
We've also got a few more skill books for Rin that will make things even easier for her. Structural Analysis especially so, since it'll function similar to a touch based Observe Skill in other Gamer stories. Let me know how much you guys like or dislike those decisions and as before, leave a review, favorites, and follows if you enjoy things so far.
Also, shoutout to the Guest who likes to spout idiotic information in the reviews. I guess they're to scared to make an account, but considering Republicans can't do anything without about seventeen guns on their person I guess thats not to surprising.
Whack a musket, and wish for dreams, Caenis out~!
