Chapter 6 Good Start, New too

In Washington DC, we see Jack aka Knightmare waiting for his teammates (if you can call them now) to show up as he called them for a meeting. It has been a week since Darkseid and the war which the heroes used that time to help clean up and repair damage to the city, showing good help and help people around. Not all of them would come, Jack had told Billy aka Shazam to not join the team but with good reasons, his age and maturity as if the others found out, most likely Bats would, then he will be kicked out and treated like a kid far worst.

Billy was against it but understand and the pair agree to keep in touch. If things work out and the new team gets a vote for more members within a year or two, Shazam would be on the list for sure and have his vote which to the boy happiness to almost breaking the Bat's back in a bone-breaking hug.

"Still hurts," Knightmare grunted, working on his right shoulder as Billy's hug almost broke it and wished that he had a healing factor to pop this damn bone back in place, such a pain.

"Here, let me help you with that," A certain, female voice said, being Diana aka Wonder Woman who walks into the room and saw Knightmare a bit pain.

"Sure," Knightmare said, allowing Diana to pop his shoulder back in place.

"Darkseid seems to have left some damage behind," Diana commented as she pulled the knight's arm back, not much and being careful with her super-strength.

"Indeed (grunt), but this was from Shazam and his bone-crushing hug. I had to talk to him about not being on the team for good reason," Jack explained with some grunts as his arm was being pulled back into place.

"Because of his forms?" Diana asked.

"Yes. He is actually a young teen and needs to mature but his heart is in the right place and has compassion. I think he can be a great hero down the road and a good member of the team," Jack replied before grunting before a pop can be heard finally and his arm was back in place.

"Thanks," Jack said as he rolled his right shoulder in relaxation now.

"You're welcome," Diana said.

Jack felt completely at peace when being around Diana, much like Selina and all, and can tell that both of them were truly a beauty or goddess in human form. His heart skips a beat, feeling of trust and bonding for them, and everything which our mix-haired hero knows what's going on. Sure, like some teens back in his old home, he had a crush and all but understandable and controllable mind you all.

Jack will also admit that he hated the Superman and Wonder Woman pairing since it came out in New 52 Comics and was happy that it ended. And he will be glad to stop but slowly and not forceful. Like start out as friends and see what happens as he wasn't sure if he could be in a relationship with an Amazon Warrior Princess & all. But that's why he put the cape and cowl on, to surpass his fear and take a leap of faith.

"Okay here goes nothing and have a while before the others show up for the big meeting anyway," Jack thought, pushing the thought of worry out of his thoughts.

Jack coughed, cleared his throat, and said, "Are you willing to have lunch out?"

This got Diana off guard and by surprise while feeling a strong idea what Knightmare was asking thanks to her date on being in the world of man and all. And by learning from friends of hers.

"Are you asked me out on a date?" Diana asked, still surprised.

"Maybe...but I would rather be just friends hanging out. No mask, no caps, and no toys, just two people hanging out. I do believe that after the big news, we could all use a break from fighting monsters and gods, don't you agree?" Jack explained.

"Agree and I would like some relaxation as well. Been a while since I enjoyed myself. But between two people, that would mean...," Diana started but was cut off when the armored bat walk in front of her and hold her hands in his clawed hands, much to her surprised and felt kindness through armored hands.

"...I trust you...And I will be honest, it would be new for me, Princess," Jack admitted which made the black-haired beauty blush a bit on that nickname and how close the knight was to her but didn't make it.

"Of what?" Diana asked, testing Knightmare.

"Showing myself outside of my mask and hanging out with a friend. I don't have many friends or work with a group but I believed it would be a good start and help for myself," Jack replied.

"Agree and you seem to be a good leader. A fine warrior too, Knightmare. Not many have those skills or noble heart," Diana said, seeing the knight as one of a kind and rare warrior.

Jack laughed a little on that and said, "There's that. So, for that lunch out?"

"I may take you on your offer...but your name first," Diana said, now the pair being more closely and the knight's cape almost surrounding them like a cloak of darkness.

Jack smiled which was a shame that Diana can't see but saw the kindness in his red eyes and how they relaxed as he moves closer to whisper his name to the beauty's ear.

"Sooo?" Jack teased.

"I will take that offer for a good lunch and hope your cooking is good as your fighting skills," Diana teased back with a smile on her face.

"Challenge is taken and you will be suprise, Princess," Jack said, seeing a good start and saw this as something very new and very good for him.

A good start and the leap of faith begin.
