Chapter 40

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Okay, all the characters are currently the ages they are supposed to be in DOA1-DOA4. It never made much sense to me why four DOA Tournaments took place within a year or so and then DOA5 took place after a two year gap. I'm going to change things a bit and make it so the DOA Tournaments happen biannually. Every six months works better for me and it actually follows a schedule. It will also keep the characters ages appropriate. Anyway, for those wondering, here are the character's current ages:
Ayane, Maya (physically): 16 (Maya 24 mentally)
Naruto, Hinata, Kasumi, Aoi: 17
Momiji: 18
Ryu, Kureha, Hayate: 23
I was getting my ass kicked playing DOA5 and noticed the school girl uniforms options which are apparently a fetish for some people. (I always just play the default outfits. I guess I'm boring that way). That more are less inspired this story arc called School Daze or High School of the Damned. (Take your pick). I wanted to use Assassination Classroom but sadly that name is taken. Here is chapter 40. Enjoy!

"….We won't just be creating super soldiers but rather super humans!"
"It seems we are on the same page Lovelace." said Victor. "We could create an army that is virtually unstoppable. The DOATEC Executive Committee is going to start screening for the strongest fighters soon. There is no reason we couldn't include a test of intellect as well. Fame Douglas would probably support the idea. When we start screening I want you to start looking for suitable candidates to be egg donors. Test tube subjects might cost a bit but they are unlikely to destroy the facilities they are in."
"What about Lisa Hamilton?" asked Lovelace.
Donovan looked puzzled and asked, "What of her? Her skills and talents lend themselves to projects other than this."
"I meant her genes." said Lovelace. "The LOA already had a list of suitable females and she was in the top ten percent."
Victor rubbed his chin in thought. "Does this data of the LOA's list still exist?"
Lovelace shook her head. "It was destroyed along with the Em Nenhum and Abismo Island facilities. There is next to no chance of it still existing."
"Well, put Miss Hamilton on your list to profile then." said Victor. "I know she will be entering the DOA Tournament."
"As you wish sir." said Lovelace.
Donovan smiled. "I look forward to seeing the results of your work Miss Lovelace. Welcome to DOATEC."
Ritsumeikan Uji Junior & Senior High School**, Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan
The Uzumaki Clan was back in action….sort of. Defense Secretary Ishigami Ken had a job for them….
Flashback….
"You want the Uzumaki Clan to act as bodyguards?" asked Naruto. "Why us? I mean, the money is good and all but ninjas guarding kids…? We're generally assassins, not guards."
The Defense Secretary said, "Agent Subaru Kimiko praised your clan highly. Our intelligence says that the children of these ambassadors are under threat of assassination and with the huge mess the LOA caused in Tokyo I need people who can infiltrate from outside my Special Forces. I need the children protected discreetly. Consider this a trial run for more difficult assignments in the future. Agent Subaru claimed you all can slip in anywhere among other things. You'll be posing as…."
Flashback end….
"….And why did I volunteer us to pose as high school students again?" asked Naruto.
"I believe we settled on it being a bout of temporary insanity Naruto-kun." said Hinata helpfully.
Aoi shrugged. "Considering the obscene amount of money we're getting paid to guard a couple of rich kids, how could you say no? Besides, Maya-chan is an expert on high school."
"I'm not an expert!" said Maya. "I said I went to high school! -and that was years ago!"
"Well, that makes you and expert compared to all of us Maya-chan." said Momiji.
Kasumi added, "We've all been studying youth culture for a week to learn about current high school trends. It will be easy to blend in but at the same time we have no long term personal experience."
"The fake identities are simple enough." said Ayane. "Acting like a helpless civilian girl for an extended period is something else though."
"Dressing in these school uniforms for an extended period of time is going to be the real issue." muttered Aoi. "Blazers, blouses and skirts don't exactly lend themselves to combat. They just aren't as sexy as our kunoichi uniforms either. Not to mention we don't have our own colors. I miss my green already."
"I think it's kind of cute that we all match." said Kasumi. "Navy blue blazers with white blouses and gray plaid skirts aren't that bad."
"Fortunately Naruto-kun has pants instead of a skirt." giggled Ayane. "Not that he doesn't have the legs for it."
Naruto shrugged. "I think I'd rather wear a skirt than this tourniquet around my neck."
The girls all laughed and Hinata said, "It's a tie Naruto-kun. You can always use your sexy technique if you wish to wear a skirt that badly."
Flashback….
Naruto sat down at the dinner table with his wives. "These are the two students we are supposed to guard without them knowing about it."
He held up a picture of a girl with pigtails held by black ribbons. "Marie Rose, 4 foot 10 inches tall, long blonde hair and light blue eyes. Her age is 16 years old. Her Father is the Swedish Ambassador to Japan."***
As they all passed around the dossier on Marie; Naruto pulled out a second picture of a girl with her hair in a pony tail. Her expression was that of someone angry. "This is Alyssa Graves, 5 foot 5 inches tall, sandy blonde hair and brown eyes. Her age is 17 years old. Her Mother is the British Ambassador to Japan." said Naruto.
There were various pictures of both girls in their school uniforms and casual clothes. All in all the data on the pair's likes and dislikes, general habits, etc. was fairly complete. That was until Ayane got an incredulous look on her face and said, "Will somebody explain to me why there are pictures of Marie Rose in gothic Lolita dresses and maid uniforms?"
"Maybe she's some kind of cosplayer?" answered Kasumi with a weak smile.
….
Hinata said, "It's fairly simple. Naruto-kun uses his surname of Uzumaki. He is a second year. Maya-chan and I use my maiden name of Hyūga. I'm a second year and Maya-chan is a first year. We are cousins. Kasumi-chan and Ayane-chan are the Tenshin sisters. Ayane-chan is a first year and Kasumi-chan is a second year."
"I wanted to be the older sister!" whined Ayane.
"You always act like the younger sister so you are the younger sister." said Hinata imperiously. Seeing Ayane pout Hinata continued. "Momiji-chan and Aoi-chan are third years. Momiji-chan is using the Hayabusa surname and Aoi-chan is….What name did you decide on Aoi-chan?"
Aoi looked to be in deep thought and said, "Smith."
Everyone face faulted. "Why the hell would you choose a western name?" asked Maya irritably. "We're supposed to blend in!"
"We'll go with Ayase, Ayase Aoi." said Hinata.
"Why Ayase?" asked Aoi.
"It was the first name I thought of." said Hinata sounding pleased with herself. Everyone sweat dropped at Hinata's bit of unilateral decision making.
Flashback end….
The bus the Uzumakis were riding in pulled up to the high school they were going to be attending; Ritsumeikan Uji High School. "So this is the place." said Kasumi. "It's quite large."
Momiji asked, "Are we supposed to go to the dormitory first? It's called Firits House."
Maya shook her head. "The first place we go is admissions. They should already have our paperwork."
Soon the Uzumaki 'Transfer students' were given a short tour of the campus and were set up in rooms in the Firits House. The girls were two per room (Ayane and Maya, Hinata and Kasumi, Aoi and Momiji) in different parts of the dormitory. As it was arranged, Naruto would have a roommate. Since it was a weekend their classes would start Monday.
Their first goal is to locate Marie Rose and Alyssa Graves. There were 376 students in the six story dormitory but it wasn't too difficult to get a roster since Maya was hacking into the school system to set up their classes. Marie Rose shared her room with a fellow first year name Honoka (age 16).**** They were in Class 5, Year 1. This was the class that Maya and Ayane would be joining.
Alyssa Graves had a roommate named Kokoro Douglas (age 17).***** They were both in Class 2, Year 2 and would be joined by Hinata and Kasumi. Naruto would also be in this class.
Lastly, Aoi and Momiji were in Class 4, year 3. Their main duty was to run interference for the others and seek out likely targets. Everyone else was in a passive role but Momiji and Aoi were to be very active.
Naruto was down at the Firits house office waiting for a room assignment. 'I hope whoever I'm rooming with isn't too nosey. I'll be slipping in and out a lot.' He was looking over his fake transcripts and a pile of application documents and test results that he supposedly passed in order to qualify to get into this school. He thought to himself, 'Man, they're going to be really disappointed in me compared to these test scores. I hope these supposed assassins show up and we can eliminate them before too much time passes….I really hate tests.'
….
With Ayane and Maya….
While Naruto was lamenting the evils of written tests, his wives were settling into their assigned rooms. Both Maya and Ayane were less than thrilled to be there for different reasons. Maya felt it was some kind of divine punishment to go through high school twice and Ayane….Well; someone made the mistake of attempting to chastise her for her 'delinquent' hair….
Flashback….
"….And you'll need to something about your rebellious image Tenshin Ayane-san. It simply will not do at this educational establishment." said the counselor sternly as he put up a tough front.
"Excuse me?" growled Ayane as she smothered the room with killing intent. "You'd better watch what you say about my natural hair color."
The counselor quickly quailed and quickly apologized. 'This little girl is terrifying!' he thought in fear.
Flashback end….
"Besides, Naruto-kun thinks my purple hair is one of my best features." said Ayane to Maya.
"You don't have to convince me Ayane-chan." said Maya. "I just dread the heckling again. It's tough being nerdy."
Ayane looked at Maya in disbelief. "Hello Maya-chan; are you in there? You may have been nerdy or whatever the first time you were in high school but you're drop dead gorgeous now."
Maya said, "Sorry; sometimes I forget that was my old life." She smiled and said, "I'm an Uzumaki kunoichi now."
Ayane nodded glad to see Maya's bout of self doubt was gone. 'High school must have been really hard for Maya-chan.'
….
With Aoi and Momiji….
Momiji was looking over her class schedule. "Well, after homeroom we have chemistry Aoi-chan. You should ace that given you are always mixing up poisons and elixirs."
Aoi shrugged, "I guess so, what's after that?"
"English and Japanese languages back to back and then Physical Education." answered Momiji.
"I wonder how difficult this will be." said Aoi. "Pretending we are students and hunting unknown assassins could be a full plate Momiji-chan."
Momiji sat down the papers. "I just dread calling a non-ninja sensei. It seems inappropriate to me."
"Well, at least we don't have to keep a genjutsu up over our eyes." said Aoi. "Hinata-chan with violet eyes startles me and Maya reverting to brown eyes catches me off guard."
….
With Kasumi and Hinata….
"Well, the dorm rooms are furnished nicely." said Kasumi as she set up her tablet to get online.
Hinata nodded. "It's a lot better than those safe houses in Tokyo. We actually have air conditioning and heat too."
"What are we going to do about Naruto-kun?" asked Kasumi.
"I'm sure that we'll find someplace to hide out for private time." said Hinata with a bit of lust in her voice. "I know I'm not going to do without for a month or more."
Kasumi sweat dropped. 'Does she always have sex on the brain? Hinata-chan does have a point though.' "I meant about him being stuck with a roommate. It will make his covert operations more difficult."
Hinata blushed slightly. "I'm sure Naruto-kun will figure it out. We'll be the main ones in contact with him since we have the same classes."
….
With Naruto….
"Your roommate will be Morimoto Yuji." said the lady counselor. "His former roommate was dismissed for inappropriate behavior. I hope you prove to be a better roommate to Morimoto-kun. He is a well behaved student and you'll be in the same class."
Naruto soon was at his room and knocked on the door. (He had a key but didn't want to barge in on his new roommate). Soon the door opened revealing a very normal looking young man with black hair and brown eyes. He also wore thin rimmed glasses. Naruto's gut reaction was 'This guy….he's so average it's frightening.' "Ummm….Hello; I'm Uzumaki Naruto. I'm supposed to be moving into this room. Are you Morimoto Yuji?"
The young man extended a hand to shake. "I'm Morimoto Yuji. Pleased to meet you Uzumaki-san. Come on in." Yuji slovenly led Naruto in and said, "I tidied the place up and the staff provided new beds because of my former roommate. Everything is pretty much new."
Naruto entered and saw the place was spotless. "What did your last roommate do that got him dismissed?"
Yuji looked uncomfortable and said, "He was a drug abuser. He never bothered me but I was out of town visiting my parents for a weekend and when I came back he had totally flipped and the room was demolished. The police and everyone were here and I got in a heap of trouble for not reporting him. It was bad."
"I'm sorry to hear that." said Naruto. "It sounds like you had a rough time." Deciding to change subjects, the blonde said, "Well, I'm new here. Are the tests hard?"
….
Cafeteria
After Naruto unpacked, Yuji invited him down to the cafeteria and the pair soon was in line. Naruto saw Momiji and Aoi sitting together and they waved him over. "Aoi-chan, Momiji-chan; it's good to see you." said Naruto as he sat down. "This is my roommate Morimoto Yuji."
Yuji's mouth was dry when Naruto introduced him to the two beautiful third years who greeted him in a friendly way. "It's n-nice to meet you ladies." said Yuji nervously.
As the group conversed about being new to the school, the three ninjas were conversing in ANBU code. Naruto signed, [Any contact with our targets?]
[Negative Naruto-kun]. signed Aoi. [Neither one of them live on the fifth floor where we are. We did locate their rooms though].
Momiji added, [Target Marie Rose is on the third floor with Ayane-chan and Maya-chan. Target Alyssa Graves is on the fourth floor with Hinata-chan and Kasumi-chan. Where is your room?]
Naruto signed, [I'm also on the fourth floor. You've done more than I have. I've been with Yuji visiting the whole time about the school. He seems fairly harmless so far].
[I see the other girls across the cafeteria]. signed Momiji. [It would be best if we weren't seen as one group].
"Well, it was nice meeting you Yuji." said Momiji kindly. "I think Aoi-chan and I are going to head back to our room and finish unpacking. We'll see you again."
….
After the girls left Yuji seemed to relax. "Uzumaki-san, where did you meet such beautiful senpais? They are gorgeous!" Yuji whispered.
Naruto thought, 'How I love my vixens.' He turned to Yuji. "Well, there was a group of us that all transferred in together and we all became friends I guess."
"Wow!" said Yuji. "They seem so nice. You're very lucky Uzumaki-san."
Naruto waved his hand. "Just call me Naruto. I'm not much on formality."
The glasses wearing boy grinned. "Then just call me Yuji."
….
The next morning, Kasumi and Hinata's room….
The two kunoichis were up having scoped out their targets the previous night. "Well, at least you've seen them with your byakugan Hinata."
"Hopefully we'll stumble across them during breakfast." said Hinata. "If nothing else we'll see them in class tomorrow. Let's go to the cafeteria and eat."
Kasumi pouted, "I sure miss your cooking Hinata-chan." Hinata giggled.
The two stepped out in the hallway and locked the door behind them. Soon they saw a very cute first year with black hair in a pony tail being harassed by three guys. "Just come with us sweetie. You know you want too. We're in the karate club. We'll show you a good time." said the tallest one as reached towards the girl -only for Hinata's hand to gently push his back.
"I don't think she is interested in your company." said Hinata. 'I hate bullies.' thought the byakugan princess. Hinata's 'violet' eyes narrowed. "You should leave her alone."
The tall one laughed and said, "How about you two hotties join us then? We're the karate club so don't make us angry or-" The next thing he knew Hinata had flipped him onto his back in the floor and had him in a very painful wrist lock….
"Were you this stupid before the lobotomy you lummox?" asked Hinata with a glare. "Get out of here before I decide to hurt you."
'So much for keeping a low profile.' thought Kasumi dourly as the three bullies quickly retreated.
The girl with the ponytail bowed deeply to Hinata and said, "Thank you so much senpai." She rose up with stars in her dark eyes. "You are my hero senpai! I'm Ayasugi Rin! Please tell me your name!"
Hinata's eyes widened and she thought, 'By the gods; I have a fan girl!'
Kasumi hand signed with an evil grin, [No good deed goes unpunished].
….
Naruto's room….
The blonde ninja awoke with a jump to the blaring noise of heavy metal music blasting from Yuji's alarm clock. Yuji was still sleeping like a rock when Naruto climbed down from the ceiling and figured out the chorus to the song was Somebody's going to get their head kicked in tonight. Naruto sweat dropped seeing his comatose roommate was still sleeping peacefully. He shook Yuji who shrieked like a little girl when he awoke.
Yuji said, "Don't ever do that! I'm a light sleeper!"
Naruto sweat dropped and said, "You slept right through that music. I thought you were dead."
The dark haired boy rubbed his eyes and put on his glasses. Then he turned off the music. "Mmmph….Oh; Naruto. Good morning! You wouldn't believe the dream I had."
Naruto sighed and said, "Good morning Yuji…." 'Instead of waking up with one of my beautiful himes I get this…?' Naruto wanted to cry at the injustice of it all.
….
Kyoto City….
Bayman pulled up in his car to the address he was supposed to meet his contact at in Kyoto City. The former Russian commando had a target to take out at the behest of Victor Donovan who had become a frequent client for his services. A black sports car pulled up five minutes later and a tall woman with white hair said, "Bayman I presume?"
Bayman said, "Who wants to know?"
"I'm your contact from Mister Donovan of DOATEC." said the woman. "The name is Christie. I'll be working with you."
….
Ritsumeikan Uji Junior & Senior High School
Aoi and Momiji made the mistake of meeting a member of the Supernatural Studies Club on the way to breakfast. Her name was Yoriko….
"….And the Observatory Room is where we meet every Sunday. That howling you heard was the ghost that inhabits the Calligraphy Room. A girl was murdered there back in 1913 and her spirit has wandered the school grounds ever since…."
[Someone kill me now!] signed Aoi to Momiji desperately. [I forbid you from correcting her religious doctrines! I don't care if you are a Dragon Priestess Momiji-chan!]
Momiji had puppy dog eyes. [But Aoi-chan….]
The redhead looked like she was about to have an aneurism. [NO! If you start guiding her on the path of true enlightenment I will never speak to you again!]
[So mean….] pouted Momiji.
Yoriko was blissfully unaware of the conversation taking place between the two kunoichis and was telling them about the other 12 dark secrets of Ritsumeikan Uji High School….
….
Cafeteria
Naruto and Yuji had just sat down for breakfast when Naruto felt a spike of killing intent he was intimately familiar with….'What is going on now Ayane-chan?!' thought the blonde. "I'll be right back Yuji." he said as he got back up.
Ayane stormed in after scaring off a member of the Student Council after he none to delicately told her that purple hair was in direct violation of the dress code. He soon fled fearing Ayane's red eyed glare would burn holes through him. The steamed purple haired kunoichi got in line for breakfast and people fled out of her way. Maya was trailing along wishing the earth would swallow her up from embarrassment. The two kunoichis soon had their meals when Naruto came up to the 'Dragon Lady' as Ayane was already being called.
"Ayane-chan, Maya-chan; how are you two girls this morning?" asked Naruto.
Maya had an immense look of relief seeing her husband and Ayane's death glare morphed into a happy smile. "Naruto-kun, I'm so glad to see you!" said Ayane happily.
After conversing for a moment Naruto led his two (physically) youngest wives over to sit with Yuji. The crowd was caught between being terrified and infatuated with Ayane as she sat down at the table with Naruto. The blonde soon introduced Yuji to them and the glasses wearing young man was shocked that Naruto had two gorgeous kōhais as well. He couldn't make up his mind whether Maya or Ayane was more beautiful. Then he started pondering Momiji and Aoi….
Ayane said, "Anyway, he ran like a coward before I had to break him into pieces. How are you doing Naruto-kun?"
Naruto smiled seeing Ayane was calmed down. "I'm doing well Ayane-chan. Did you two get settled in okay?"
Maya nodded. "Our room is nice Naruto-kun. Some of the other students in our area are a bit rowdy though." her eyes turned hard. "I had to shut the brats up so we could sleep."
'Once a Police detective, always a Police detective.' thought Naruto. "I'm sure they will probably be quieter now." [Have you spotted either of our targets?]
Ayane signed, [Target Marie Rose and her roommate Honoka are out on a trip for the weekend. We checked out their room and found nothing out of the ordinary.]
Maya nodded. [We didn't check on target Alyssa Graves. Hopefully Hinata-chan and Kasumi-chan have. Can you make some listening tags so we can check on our targets as needed?]
Naruto signed, [I'll see what I can come up with Maya-chan. I have to work around Yuji here].
….
Hinata and Kasumi made it to the cafeteria about an hour later after parting ways with Hinata's self proclaimed disciple, Rin. The girl was apparently on a permanent sugar rush and made Hinata wish for more peaceful days like hunting fiends. "Thank the gods she's in a different grade." muttered Hinata. "Battling dinosaurs is easier."
Kasumi smiled at Hinata's antics as she led the way into the cafeteria. Her warm brown eyes zoomed in on one of their targets, Alyssa Graves sitting near a window. She nudged Hinata and whispered, "Target in sight."
The byakugan princess looked in that generation and saw Alyssa sitting with her roommate Kokoro. Alyssa seemed to be doing most of the talking. The two kunoichis soon had their breakfasts and were sitting a table over from their target.
Alyssa flipped her hair and said, "If they don't wish to be in our social circle then to hell with them Kokoro. They barely passed muster on looks anyway. We can't associate with people that aren't up to par."
Kokoro sighed. "Alyssa, you are being too harsh on them. I got along with them fine. You need to be less abrasive." she said kindly. It was obvious that Kokoro was playing peacemaker.
"If they can't handle my personality that's their problem; not mine." replied the sandy blonde.
'Great, a diva.' thought Hinata. 'She's going to be difficult to tolerate and we need to befriend her in order to do our jobs best.'
Kasumi wasn't too thrilled either. 'From the sounds of it she's a total bitch and runs a clique. She's intolerant and judgmental from the sounds of it. Just how are we supposed to approach her?'
'This whole high school mentality leaves a bad taste in my mouth.' thought Hinata. She signed to Kasumi, [Let's just wait until we're introduced formally in class tomorrow. I doubt acting friendly will get us far with Graves-san].
Nodding, Kasumi signed, [I agree; she currently seems angry at the world. I think we would be better off approaching her roommate Kokoro-san].
[This is going to be a long job. I wonder how the others are doing]. signed Hinata.
The two Uzumaki kunoichis settle for eating quietly as Alyssa ranted and raved in the background….
….
Kendo Room
Yuji was showing Naruto, Maya and Ayane around the school a bit (Mainly so he could admire the two girls). "This is where the Kendo Club meets; I'm a member but I'm not all that good. You might want to try out for the team though." he said to Naruto. Ayane went across the room where she examined the kendo swords and examined one carefully. Yuji said, "That's called a shinai. We use them for simulating traditional swords in Kendo practice. Ayane felt the weight of the bamboo blade in her hands before she grabbed another and tested its weight as well. The purple haired kunoichi darted the practice weapon at Maya who caught the shinai effortlessly.
"Spar with me Maya-chan." said Ayane.
Maya nodded and the two took their traditional stances. Ayane had her low stance for wielding a kodachi and Maya was in an iaido draw stance for a katana. Naruto noticed other students in kendo uniforms coming in and one said. "Those aren't kendo stances. What are those to girls doing Morimoto?"
"I'm not sure." said Yuji. "I think they're just playing. I let them in to see the room is all."
"Well they are both really hot so I don't mind." said another.
Their kendo sensei Sakai face palmed in the back of the crowd and was about to tell the girls to leave so the Kendo Team could practice. Then he saw they were in traditional sword stances.
Naruto yelled, "Begin!"
Maya had her blade near Ayane's throat faster than anyone but Naruto and Sakai could follow. Ayane parried and had a bloodthirsty grin and said, "Alright, we'll play hardball."
Naruto sat down to watch the ebb and flow as his two wives eagerly tore into each other. As Naruto reached out with his senses he could feel Maya was being more aggressive than usual. Maya went for a low sweep to take Ayane's feet out from under her but the purple haired kunoichi effortlessly avoided the strike with a handless cartwheel. Ayane then went for a brutal overhead strike but Maya blocked and spun to regain the offensive. Maya then flipped backwards in an effort to avoid getting close quarters where Ayane fought best. Naruto was enjoying the show as his lovely wives shot through their paces with their silky hair trailing behind them. The combination of power, speed and fluidity was wonderful to watch. It was obvious to him they were both having lots of fun as well.
"Sakai-sensei; w-what am I seeing?! asked a kendo student in a shocked tone.
The two kunoichis separated and were about to start again when Naruto yelled, "Time!"
Maya and Ayane both bowed and said, "Thank you for the spar."
Naruto said, "Good spar girls. Maya-chan; you are getting faster. Ayane-chan, you adapted really well to a single long blade."
Ayane smiled. "That was good Maya-chan. I never landed a hit on you."
Sakai said to the kunoichis, "I'm Sakai-sensei and I'm in charge of the kendo club. Who might you ladies be and what style of kenjutsu are you two practitioners of?"
Since they couldn't name their specific styles without giving information away, Maya said, "I'm Hyūga Maya and I use the Hyūga family style with a katana."

"I'm very impressed." said Sakai. "About that purple hair…." Sakai suddenly felt a rush of killing intent wash over him as Ayane gripped her blade. "Ummm….it's a lovely color." said the sensei lamely.
"Why thank you." ground out Ayane in a stilted tone.
Sakai was sweating and gave a friendly smile….

"An assassination at a high school dorm?" asked Bayman in disbelief.
Christie nodded, "That's what I thought but Victor Donovan doesn't like loose ends."
Bayman was really tempted to walk away from this job. 'The money is good but I'll have to tolerate this Christie woman over an extended period of time.' "I trust you have a dossier on the target as well as building maps?" asked the former commando. "It's not like either of us can walk into a high school and pass off as students."
Christie smiled coldly and said, "You are in then?"
Bayman nodded and narrowed his eyes. "Let's see the pictures."
The British assassin opened a folder that had a picture of Alyssa Graves and Kokoro Douglas. "This is the target and her roommate. Cute isn't she?"

Well, I always wanted to do a ridiculous "high school drama arc." What's going to happen with ninjas and assassins thrown into high school situation? For the Uzumakis, all the bittersweet angst and cliques might be worse to deal with than gunfire and attempted murder. At least they haven't run into a gang of juvenile delinquents yet.
