In case any of you haven't heard (or even if you have), Comedy Central plans to resurrect "Futurama" in 2008 for at least 13 episodes. Here's my idea for a Cold Opener in response to that; it's kind of my version of the "Cancelled" Cold Opener to "Family Guy"'s return ep., "North by North Quahog" (2005).

We open just outside Planet Express HQ.. Cut to the interior office where Fry, Bender, and Leela are sitting on the floor, kneeled over, when suddenly, in walks Professor Hubert Farnsworth.
"Good news, everyone!" the Professor announced. "We've been reinstated!"
"Re-in-WHAT-ed?" asked a confused Fry.
"Our show is back on the air with at least 13 new episodes for Comedy Central!" explained the Professor.
"YAAAY! WOO-HOOOOOOOOO!" the Planet Express crew cheered. Just then, however, Bender realized something.
"WAIT a minute!" he sneered. "I'm not gonna hafta share a Trailer space with those four fowl-mouthed brats from 'South Park', am I?"
"Oh, my, no!" the Professor exclaimed.
"That's a relief!" Bender sighed, wiping his metallic brow.
"Incidentally, the series won't return until 2008, along with at least 3 or 4 Direct-to-DVD movies…" the Professor continued, whilst adjusting his glasses.
"All right!" Fry exclaimed, slapping Bender a High-Five. "We live to loaf another day!"
"COOL it, you two!" Leela snapped at them. "Haven't you ever heard of REHEARSALS?"
"Re-WHAT-als, now?" Bender asked, playing dumb.
"Don't play dumb with ME, you Stupid Robot!" the enraged , one-eyed Captain of the Planet Express Delivery Ship snapped at him. "Here are your scripts!" she said, handing them to him, Fry, and the Professor. "And, remember, you all have 2 years to memorize them!"
"UH-Oh!" Bender said towards the Webcam. "We'd better get STARTED!"
