Noar was spluttering up water as she was getting rowed to shore. Wasn't the first time she dived, but landing hard on her side hurt like a bitch.

"You been getting soft Noar." Dina chuckled. She pulls Noar to the shore.

"Moooo!"

"See even Halima agrees with me." Naming her cow.

Noar was too tired and sore to talk.

"Let me get you some milk, and you can explain to me why you are swimming in your clothes."

Half an hour later Noar was filling Dina in.

"You slipped reading a book?" Dina shook her head. "Must be some book."

"It is." Noar was happy the diary was okay, she wouldn't know what to say if the book was destroyed. It was priceless. She was dead tired, even with Halima's milk, she barely could stand up. "Mind if I take a nap?"

It was dark when Noar woke up. Seeing the full moon, she yawns.

"Hey!" She was up in an instant. She yanks the diary away from Dina's hands. "That's mine! Sorry." She didn't know why she was so overprotective of it.

"Alyva? Why didn't you tell me about her!" Dina was bored, she was assigned down here to guard the river's edge from intruders. Seeing Noar fall down the cliff was the most exciting thing to happen so far; till she read Noar's book. "Where did you get this?" The history was exciting.

"I borrowed it from someone." She explained about Link's stay at the inn.

"The fairy boy?" Dina saw him earlier, she bought some milk from her after his dive. "Surprised he's allowed inside." She knew about those carpenters, idiots.

"He's different." She didn't like those carpenters, especially their boss, that creepy old man. "He's one of us now." She told her about Amira's offer.

"Must be a damn good man." She knew how distrusting Amira and the others were. "That part about those mages." Dina was saddened to hear about them.

"Yeah, I had to skim through those parts." She hated violence. "Want to read this book?"

"Sure. Nothing's going on anyways."

I'm all alone again, which I'm okay with. No one deserves to be here. I sure hope he leaves town, hell leave the country. Hyrule, it will end up like Ikana. Empty and lifeless. Anyways Alyva, she stayed with the fairie folk, who taught her new tricks.

"Wow." Alyva, she was impressed by the area. "This is where you live? It's incredible!" She knew fairies lived here, but didn't expect a entire city. The clearing was small, but there was tiny houses everywhere. "Just how many are you?"

"Probably the same amount of folk as Kakariko. Here, follow me, I'll find you a place to sleep."

"Where?" She looked around. Even with a clearing, there was barely any room.

"Oh! Silly me." Ting slaps his head. I forgot you were Hylian. Usually we only get kokiris." He lead her a little ways into the forest. "Here. Don't worry, there's plenty of room, it actually looks cozier than it looks." Seeing her expression. "Just rest here, and in the morning we'll discuss what your next adventure is ."

Alyva was too exhausted to argue. At least she had a tent. Once she put it up, she went to sleep.

"G'night." She was asleep in seconds.

"Who is she?"

"She's pretty!"

"Pretty big for a kikori."

Alyva woke up to see small creatures staring curiously at her. When she stretched the fairies flew back.

"Morning."

"Morning." The fairies answer back. They watch her as she wakes up.

"Um. Do you mind, I need some privacy." She needed to pee.

"Oh! Sorry!" The three fairies fly away giggling.

After making sure she was alone, she did her business. Once she cleaned and dressed herself, she walked towards the fairie village.

Ting was telling his friends his adventure the night before when he saw Alyva walking in. Immediately he points to her.

"That's her! The one that defeated those moblins!"

Alyva couldn't help but blush when she heard applause. The tiny hands were loud.

"You saved my son! Thank you!" Ting's mother was always worried about her wayward boy, always taking off on wild adventures. "Ting! Make sure you properly thank her!" She scolded.

A embarrassed Ting flies towards Alyva.

"Thanks for saving my bacon back there. My mom, she made you breakfast." He gestures to a basket of fruit.

Hearing her stomach growl, she carefully sits down to eat on the grass, making sure she didn't accidentally sit on a fairie.

"Thank you." She wondered how the fairies carried the fruit, some of the fruit was bigger than them. Ting must have read her mind, he mentioned that they buy them from the kikori children.

"Fruit grows around here?" She heard stories that there was a orchard in these woods owned by mages, but no one dared tried to enter these woods. "That hit the spot. Thank you." She offered to wash the dishes, but when they shrunk, she looked confusingly at Ting.

"We use magic to carry things around."

"Cool." She smiled at a fairie carrying a small baby. God fairie children were so cute. "Thank you." She got up to leave, she felt like she was intruding on private land.

"You're leaving? You just got here!" Ting protested. "Stay for awhile."

"You sure? I don't want to be a bother." Truthfully where would she go? She had no clue.

"We don't mind. Tell us about yourself!" Ting's neighbour flies over to her. "We only see kikori, it's nice to talk to grown ups!"

"Yea! Tell us about the King! Did you meet him?"

"What about those moblins! Not many Hylians could take on one, never mind three!"

Alyva couldn't help but feel flattered. Other than Joan and Buchard, no one really talked to her.

She stayed for a few days, the fairies offered to pay her if she stayed to be a bodyguard.

"A bodyguard? Me? I'm not a warrior." She fought once.

"Just for awhile. We are overrun by peahats. We need someone to reduce their numbers."

Alyva saw them flying about, she had no idea why there were so many. She killed a few using her bow and arrows.

"I don't know. How long?"

"We move about a lot, the fairie fountains, we all have to take turns maintaining them." He points in every direction. "The one in the woods is fine, but the others, I'm sure our friends are waiting for us."

"Okay. But I need supplies." Her arrows were low.

"Anything you need, we can get them from you."

Alyva stuck around for a year, the fairies treated her very well. But the time came when she had to leave. The town, they all wished her farewell.

Alyva was trying not to cry, for the first time in her life she felt like she truly belonged. But she knew it was time to go.

"Why do you have to leave?" A small child was hugging her neck.

"Oh Karrie." She carefully brushes her hair. "The world is a stage, and it's time for the next act." She hated seeing her cry, she babysat her and the other children whenever she could. "The story has to continue." She smiled with tears streaming down her face when the fairie children started hugging her.

"Alyva." The fairie leader flew in front of her. Alyva would have bowed, but not with small children holding her. "You have lived among us, fighting along with us, and have protected one of our own." The old man flies in front of her. "With our thanks, we are presenting you with a gift. Ladies, if you will."

Alyva was curious about what the fairies were going to give her. When they flew over a chest, the fairie gestured for her to open it.

"Huh?" It was her boots. "The wings." She looked up with curiosity. These boots weren't her best work, she only made those as part of a costume. "Thanks?" They were cleaned, the shiny yellow metal was gleaming.

"Put them on." The fairie leader said mysteriously.

Alyva waited till the fairies flew from her shoulders, before she sat on the ground. When she put them on, she was surprised how light she felt. When she stood up, she yelped when she flew backwards. But when she found herself hovering on her back, she looked at everyone who was giggling. Her face red, she was wondering what was going on.

"I'm sorry. I should have warned you." The fairie leader was trying not to laugh. "Those boots are blessed with magic. It's temporary, they only work for a minute or so before they lose their magic."

Alyva fell on her back with a oof. Luckily the ground was only a few inches away. What kind of boots are these?

"We know you are wanting to see the world, but the world is full of danger. You need supplies, those boots shall help you."

Alyva, still not knowing what was going on, slowly gets up. Whoa! It was like she was walking on ice. These were very slippery.

"Imagine walking through a rocky trial, or a muddy wet path, and you only have one pair of boots. They get ruined with holes and you can't continue without injuring your feet. Or even trying to cross a ravine, and are afraid to fall with the extra weight. You can easily cross a mountain without being sinking into the snow. But beware of strong winds, you'll be light as a feather."

Alyva cautiously takes a step. He was right, she did feel as light as a feather. She couldn't help but pretend to skate around the grass. She laughed when the fairie children climbed on to feel the wind with her moves.

"Thank you. For everything." Once she was done, she tearfully says goodbye to her fairie family, but not before Ting begs to come.

"Alyva! Take me with you!"

Alyva looked at the fairie leader. She wouldn't mind the company, the world was vast, but lonely.

"Go. Ting is a young man now. He will help guide you whenever you need direction."

"Like that fairie that flies with the boy." Dina remarks.

Alyva and her fairie guide head north, according to Ting, he insisted she needed to see the Mountain Fairie, he claims he will bless Alyva. What they weren't counting on was the cold winter.

"Brrr." Alyva was dressed in the appropriate clothes, but she was still shivering. "I forgot how cold it gets outside." She was camping in a tent, sitting outside cooking her meal using a fire. "How long does it take to go up the mountain?" She was glad most of the monsters were in hibernation, she could barely fight with frozen hands.

"A few days." Ting was shivering as well, he usually sat inside Alyva's coat to keep warm, for now was warming up by the fire. "Then we need the leader's permission to climb up the mountain."

"Days? Are you kidding?" She saw the mountain in the far distance. "Forget it." She only had so much supplies. "Is there somewhere else we could go instead?"

"Hmm." He agreed the mountain was too far, even with the boots, it was extremely dangerous to climb the mountain without proper training. "There is Hyrule Castle, she is the Queen of the Fairies."

"I travelled far to get away from my past. I'm not ready to go home. Besides I don't want to get arrested." Trespassing was a death sentence. "East?" She heard of the Zora Fountain.

"The Zoras no longer allow visitors. Not since the Princess' kidnapping." Fairies and the Royal Family were the exception. "How about west? The desert is quite pleasant in the winter."

"The desert? Hmm." Alyva never been, but she heard the geruldos were quite friendly. "How long is the trip?"

"Now's its getting good." Dina was intrigued by the story. "You think they'll mention the Goddess?" Her name was a mystery, some said she was Din, Creator of the Land, while others say her true name was lost over time.

"Maybe." Noar turned the page.

"Ahh! That took forever!" Although she didn't mind travelling, she was glad to see that caravan. After paying the rupees, she and Ting arrive outside the Geruldo Fortress entrance. "Where is this fairie?"

"Across the desert. But the geruldos won't let anyone cross. Not unless you pass their trials." The caravan driver says as she gets out. "Good luck out there!"

"Thanks." She and Ting walk across the bridge, and once they get permission from the guard, they go in.

"That hits the spot." Alyva was drinking a ale with her best friend Joan at the local bar. "How's things." She was surprised to see how different Joan looked. Her skin was deeply tanned with her long hair tied in a ponytail.

"Great! This place, I learned a lot." She tells Joan about how she almost finished the trail inside the fortress. "I almost passed, then I couldn't reach the other side. Jumping wasn't a option, and there was no way I could cross without a rope." She shook her head. "I am so glad Teacher was so strict with us, it's super cold in there. Ugh." She heard rumours there was a treasure inside, which was kept in a frozen room. "Anyways, enough about me, what about you?"

"You met Ting, he here, he saved my life." From then on, her and Joan exchange stories for the next few hours.

"Magical boots? Let me see." Alyva smirked. She couldn't wait to see Joan fall. Sure enough, she yelped as she falls. "Ahh!"

"Yeah. I forgot to tell you about those."

"The hell?"Joan looks at the boots. "What kind of boots are they?" She slips forward in a slide. "What the..."

"A time saver." Alyva tells her about her travels.

"So you are basically light as a feather?" She looks down. "Do you still have your metal boots?"

"Yeah, why?" Alyva had no idea why she carried them, unlike her feather boots, they were very impractical.

"No reason." Joan gets up. "It's getting late. If you want to sign up for the trails, ask my boss." The current leaders were away, and left their advisors in charge. "Even if you don't pass, you're guaranteed a job if you make it halfway."

"You think about coming back?" Alyva never realized how much she missed Joan.

"Eventually. I still have a lot of learn. Here's your boots back. Come meet me for breakfast, and I'll show you around."

Noar yawned. Looking up, she knew it was after midnight.

"You ready to go home?" The climb to the fortress would take awhile.

"I'm grounded anyways. A few more hours wouldn't hurt." She wanted to read more, but she felt her eyes closing. "I think I drank too much milk."

"We'll share my tent. Shift change tomorrow, you can read the diary to the shift guard." Once Noar tell asleep, Dina read the rest of the book. "Wow." That explained a lot. She carefully puts the diary down besides Noar. "Night."
