I don't own any of this Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon.
A lone female rhinoceros travels through the city streets, occasionally stopping to munch on a bush or a first floor garden which knocked down several pots that crashed down into pieces on the sidewalk. This is what she's been doing ever since her escape from the zoo. Wandering about, while eating plants that came across her path, the best place to feast is at the park as that has all the vegetation that she could eat. No carnivore dares try to mess with her, since she is big and quick on the defensive, such as how a pack of dogs have learned the hard way when three got trampled by her feet, while one got gourd by her horn.
The only thing that really set her on edge is the smoke from a fire that had spread to other buildings last night. Even from here she could very well smell it due to the wind blowing the smell of smoke in this direction. The fire itself is also most likely coming in this general direction and when it does, she'll be far gone from here.
Snorting to herself, she wanders on down the street. Passing right by the Bodega where up above, Nelson watched her pass with his tongue sticking out. He had never seen a rhinoceros before, so he couldn't help but stare at the passing large mammal. When she passes right out of eyesight, Nelson turned his attention back to the much more concerning site of a large collum of smoke that came from the fire that is burning up that part of the city. He really hoped that the fire wasn't going to be hitting this neighborhood as that would very much put a big damper on things.
The smell from the fire is already putting him on edge enough to start his flight or fight response, but what is perhaps worse is that the whole Sergio situation isn't exactly making things easier as he is very dismissive when it came to the possibility that the fire would reach here. In his view, the chances of it reaching this building is very low as Sergio had put it that the fire would put itself out before even making it halfway here.
Slowly shaking his head, Nelson turned and jumped off the couch to avoid looking at that collum of smoke even more. But what he doesn't know however is that Great Lake City isn't the only city that has a fire burning uncontrollably. In fact in several others cities, along with some towns around the world. Fires have been burning either recently or on the day that humans have disappeared, the buildings have been burned badly scaring away many animals who weren't trapped by the flames. By the end, the fires will reduce these unlucky towns to rubble, while cities will have their skyscrapers badly damaged.
These fires however weren't the only disaster looming in this post-human world.
Around the world nuclear power plants are in critical condition. The rooms that contain the rod cooling shells are set ablaze, melting control panels, phones, and clocks from how hot they were getting. Sparks erupt on the rods themselves that increase in a short amount of time, until the last spark gives way to a small explosion.
Outside one of these plants; a flock of deer have wandered into the parking lot. Their hooves click against the payment as some sniff the tires of cars. It will take a short amount of time before the small flock makes it to an island of grass that grown a good few inches. They are unaware that shortly soon food will be the last thing on their minds.
A tremendous bang rings the eardrums of the deer. Looking over to the plant in alarm, the deer saw a great plum of fire and smoke erupt out of a roof, shooting twisted metal and pieces of the roof into the sky that then quickly rain back down on the parking lot with smaller pieces hitting the frozen deer, which is enough to send them running as the plum of smoke raises into the sky, releasing harmful radiation that'll effect the area just like in the Chernobyl disaster that is unfortunately being repeated in other areas where nuclear power plants explode.
Many living things from plants to the tiniest insect will be affected by the deadly radiation that will fall from the sky. Pine trees will loose their abilities to create new pines, mice and other small animals will die along with any other animal that can't get away, and mutations will effect those for years to come.
Royal Woods is lucky enough to not be in an area to be affected by any radiation as it's far enough away from any nuclear power plants that are in Michigan. Which is very fortunate for the life here, especially for the dog pack who walked down Franklin Ave, again. Stopping just two houses away, they lock their eyes towards the Loud house with the leader growling in anger.
The lingering smell of bird poop is still emitting from him. It made him absolutely furious that a bird brain had pooped on him yesterday, it was absolutely embarrassing to have that happen to him while in front of his pack and he wanted absolute revenge on that bird. He'll crush that bird within his jaws after throwing him around and tearing off those wings out of his sockets.
From what he reduced from yesterday, the bird must be in that house as that's where the bird dived bombed them and was clearly leading them away. They'll have to find a way in that house if they wanted to do some payback, but before they could pull an attack, they have to be smart about this. Which is why they are going to be biding their time, until it gets to nightfall as by then the bird would be asleep, plus they can blend in with the night as they make their approach on the house.
It's the perfect plan to pull out their revenge. They just gotta wait for a bit before they could pull it off, which wasn't so bad as they can afford to wait. Letting out a couple of barks, the pack moved off to rest up in a random backyard in order to have full energy for the attack tonight.
While the pack plots their attack on the house. The pets are completely oblivious as they were having their own problems as a very awful smell has taken over the house. The smell is absolutely putrid, it made them cover up their noses, which was more difficult for Lana's snakes to pull off since they don't have any paws or wings to cover their noses up, so they had to resort to pushing their faces against the couch.
This horrible stench is coming from the rotting food that's in the fridge. Charles along with Cliff and Walt sat in front of the refrigerator in disgust for the smell is much more worse here, it generally made them afraid on what they are about to do.
Gulping to himself for things are about to get more stinky, Charles very slowly gripped the bottom of the fridge door and with a big pull opens the fridge, unleashing a wave of stench that blew right pass them and throughout the house where some of the animals had fainted from such a horrible smell. Back at the epicenter; Charles and his two fellow comrades had to keep themselves from fainting themselves from how dizzy they felt, Walt had to land on the floor in order to cover up his nose, but yet all of them had tears in their eyes.
Through their teary eyes, the blurry vision of the rotting food came into view as well as the scurry of cockroaches who all hide the moment daylight hits them. There is no doubt about it, the food in the fridge has got to go or else they are going to suffer the horrible smell of gone bad food.
Running to a garbage can near the archway that lead into the dining room. Cliff pushes it with his head up to the fridge where Charles jumped up on to the first shelf and pushes as much food as he can, until the trash can got filled up, once it was Cliff pushes the filled can towards the pet door which Walt held open with his feet, and then dumps it in the backyard, near the side of the garage. After dumping the pile of food, Cliff moves back into the house, with a bit of trouble getting the trash can back up the porch, but when he did, Cliff proceeds to go back and forth of dumping the food and going back into the house.
It's a very smelly job for a feline like Cliff, who winces in disgust from the smell that seems to get more smellier each time he comes out here. But soon at last Cliff's smelly work is done and after doing all that, there was nothing more Cliff wanted to do then to have a catnap in the middle of Mr. Grouse's flower bed as that would be a good smelling place to rest in, unlike in the house at the moment.
Back inside the house meanwhile; Charles and Walt inspected the now empty fridge. Now that the rotting food is gone, there is no longer a source for the smell, although that didn't stop it from lingering in the fridge which without cleaning it, that smell is going to be lingering in there for awhile. That is very unacceptable for anyone living in this house, so Charles slams the fridge door shut in a way to keep it in there, the smell may build up inside that fridge, but the smell throughout the house will dissipate in time.
Overall though the two get out of this smelly kitchen and into the living room where it wasn't as strong from in here. Sitting themselves down on the couch with Izzy and El Diablo, Charles and Walt looked out the window pass the TV. From here they saw that it is clear day outside, and it's very quiet with no sounds of any cars passing by, planes flying overhead, children screaming as they play, lawnmowers cutting grass, motorcycles revving, or sirens from emergency vehicles.
Ten days. It had already been ten days since humans have disappeared. It was hard to believe that much time have passed since the disappearance and that they have done so much since then. They hung out with FriendBot, Charles had a terrifying encounter with a pack of dogs, went to the grocery store with FriendBot, threw a party for FriendBot before he tragically shut down, and Walt had drown the pack of dogs away from their home. It's truly amazing that they managed to do all that during the last couple of days, their owners would've been very proud of them, proud enough to give them treats.
Thinking about their owners make the pets miss them all over again. It made them curse the mysterious disappearance that took their owners. Just why did have to happen to them? They didn't anything wrong to deserve to suddenly disappear without a trace from the face of the Earth. Just why? And who exactly did this as they doubt that it was natural. Someone made that fatal mistake of driving the human race to the most unusual of extinction.
These angry thoughts plagued them for which they couldn't help in the slightest. They have become strays after the disappearance, the town is now under control of animals with some that will gladly eat them if given the chance, and their favorite accessories from TV, food being served, and as recently demonstrated with the fridge earlier, no more refrigeration to keep the food cold.
Life truly stinks for them now in a both figuratively and literal way. The only good thing about this was all this quiet and that they can go wherever they want without being scolded, such as Lola's bed where it now has a good amount of hair on it, something that Lola would not be happy about in the slightest.
Yawning to himself, Charles continues to look out through the window, feeling extremely bored at the moment. What Charles would give right now then is to have a game of fetch, it would definitely beat this boredness that he felt as of right now. Giving himself a good scratch behind the ear, Charles jumped off the couch and up the stairs where he picked up his favorite ball that he left in Lynn's and Lucy's room.
Heading back into the hallway, Charles growls as he shakes his head around before throwing his ball that flew through the air before bouncing and roll itself into the bathroom. Charles races after the ball and picked it back up, he does another throw and the ball lands in front of Lincoln's room. Doing this over and over again, Charles chases after the ball as he throws it around the second floor, entering in several rooms several times.
Spinning around a couple more times, Charles throws the ball again which bounces off the wall and hits a vase which falls and broke in half on the floor. The very sound of it crashing onto the floor made him cringe, then after he got a good look at the shatter vase he felt great shame as from he did, it made him a bad boy. He felt so much shame that he laid on the floor, letting out a sad whine as he placed a paw on his face.
Geo who has heard the shattering of the vase, rolled up behind Charles and asks him on what was wrong? Simply pointing with his other paw, Geo looked over to the shattered vase and instantly understood. Getting himself out of his ball, Geo gives Charles a gentle pat in reassurance as he told the dog that it wasn't a big deal as it had been an accident and it's not like anyone is going to be scolding him for it.
Giving the hamster a small, sad puppy eye look. Charles guessed that Geo had a point. No one is going to be giving him a scolding now or ever when he does something bad, but he still couldn't help but feel guilty for it still made him feel like a bad dog. Upon seeing the still guilty look on his face, Geo gives him more comforting pats as it'll help make him feel better.
Playing with a toy mouse in the pet aisle. Nepurrtiti batted the toy around along with also tossing it up in the air. It was so much fun as playing with this toy is having her release so much energy that's she's been building up, eventually she gets on her back with the mouse in-between her paws and bites down on it before getting back on her feet and tossed it.
As she played with the toy, the tabby cat is in the middle of chowing down on a bag of food that he had torn open with his teeth and claws. Holding a mouthful of food in his mouth, the tabby looked briefly over to Nepurrtiti before going back to eating. He'll play with something or scratch on a scratching post after he was finished eating, leaving Nepurrtiti to enjoy some time to herself.
Tossing the toy mouse again, Nepurrtiti gives it one last bat before suddenly bathing her side with a few licks before going back to the shelf and pulled out a bag of catnip. Using her teeth to tear open the bag, she dumps the nip all over the floor where she then rolls herself on it, getting it right in her fur. Being full of nip now, Nepurrtiti zooms up and down the aisle as fast as a car that swiftly ended by her jumping and landing on the second row of the shelf. Where she sat there looking down to the floor below.
She felt great with all of this energy, so great that she jumped across to the other second row of a shelf, knocking a few cans of dog food to the floor with a loud crash, spooking the tabby who jumped a good few meters into the air, spilling some of the food. He looked at Nepurrtiti with a glare momentarily, feeling very annoyed about being spooked liked that. After licking his lips, he then went back to the bag.
Feeling a bit hungry herself, Nepurrtiti jumped down and joined in with the Tabby. They both didn't notice the shocked, watching eyes of Cleopawtra. She had been looking for her sister earlier, then heard a loud crashing sound coming from this aisle. She couldn't believe her eyes when she saw her own sister with that tabby. What was she even doing with the likes of him? This is very generally shocking and what is even more of a shock is that why are they getting too close with one another?
Remaining completely frozen in the spot, all Cleopawtra could do is just stare at this shocking scene. But there is one thing for sure though. Her sister has a lot of questions to answer later tonight. Meanwhile Nepurrtiti and the tabby continue to eat in complete obliviousness.
Night soon fell on Royal Woods and with it the dog pack are ready to begin their attack on the house. Coming to the sidewalk in front of the house they spent the day around, the leader instructs his pack to go in slowly and quietly, as well as sticking close to the shadows in order not to draw in any attention.
The pack fallows their leader's instructions closely as they slowly went through yards, avoiding any sticks or anything else that would make any noise, they also hid themselves in the most darkest areas where moonlight isn't shinning.
The pack gets to the left side of the house and stopped in their tracks just in case the bird is still awake and looking out one of the windows. To avoid detection the pack get themselves down to the point that their bellies almost touched the ground, then crawled their way to the other side of the house. Peeking out from around the corner, the leader scans around before spotting an open gate that leads directly into the backyard, where there might be a way to get in the house through there.
Leading his pack to the gate, he and the others stopped when they spot a black cat going up the stairs and went into the house by going through a pet door.
That really had been a very good nap, although Cliff didn't really think that he would've been asleep throughout the rest of the day and into the early hours of the night. Still it had been a good, and most importantly a good smelling nap, Grouse's flowers definitely helped get rid of that rotting food smell. Speaking of that smell, sniffing the kitchen it seems like that it's beginning to fade away, that's very great as he doesn't want to be in a kitchen that smells awful.
Exiting the kitchen, he joins the others in the living room and sat down at the front of the stairs. They were all just chatting to themselves about plans for tomorrow as some think that it is time to venture more outside for they needed to get more familiar around the neighborhood, others however wanted to stay in as the outside world is much too dangerous to be adventuring. It's a big debate for both sides who wanted to secure their future, something that Cliff isn't really listening to, but if he had to put in his two cents, he'll be on the side who wants to explore the outside. After all they do need to know about any shortcuts or escape routes just in case danger comes.
They may not believe it, but they're going to face something dangerous sometime later, heck the problem with that dog pack yesterday greatly proves that. It's only going to be a matter of time before they face full on danger. Now if only Cliff knew that it was going to be way sooner than he expected.
Everyone is still chatting to each other when a loud noise from the kitchen interrupted them. They all looked in that direction in surprise as they all wondered on what that noise was? They were all in here so it couldn't have been any of them, the only explanation is that something fell, but they couldn't put their heads on what exactly fell in there. They receive the scare of their life as the pack of dogs appeared in the archway and turned to them with what looked to be surprise for it was as if they weren't expecting to encounter such a good number of animals in this house.
Their surprise is short lived as the leader lowers his head down with a growl, then gives the rest of the pack the order to attack. The pack runs forward, unleashing chaos throughout the living room as panic cries and angry barks filled the room and animals scattered everywhere as they try to avoid the snapping mouths of the dogs.
Hops jumps onto the coffee table, he bounces again just in the nick of time as a dog's mouth snapped shut, he lands on the dog's head where he then bounces off of it. Landing on the floor, Hops bounced his way towards the fireplace, passing by Izzy who is running away from a dog. Only to get cut off by another one, who snatches him up with a snap of its mouth.
One cornered Cliff with its teeth bared threateningly, it lunged forward only to get smacked in the face with a paw full of claws. Yelping in pain with blood showing from the scratch wound on the right cheek. The dog shakes off the pain and resumes to threatening growl at Cliff who arches his back, while hissing in a warning that he'll strike the dog again.
Lana's rattlesnake joins in with Cliff by going on the dog's right flank, rattling her tail in great warning to back off. It goes unnoticed by the dog who barked at the reptile and then lunged at her, which earned the dog to receive a bite in the leg. The dog let's out a loud cry of pain, it practically bounced back after the snake releases its leg. Swaying a bit, the dog backs away a couple of feet before collapsing to the floor with whines of despair.
Meanwhile another dog had wrapped its mouth around Geo's hamster ball. Poor Geo felt sick to his stomach as he got bounced and tossed around in his ball. Seeing him in trouble, Walt flies overhead like a bomber plane and unleashes his load that hit the dog in the eye, forcing it to release Geo from its mouth as it went to get the poop out of its eye.
Walt laughed to himself for his successful bombing run, only for his laughter to get swiftly cut off when the leader jumped and knocked him down with a swipe of his paw. Now being pinned down by the leader with his paw on his wing, Walt sweated in fear as his view got obscured by the sharp canines that are almost touching him.
Suddenly the small body of Charles slammed into leader's body, knocking him off of Walt and onto his side. Charles bites down on the bottom of his neck, but gets swiftly swatted away by a paw. Getting up on their feet the two dogs stare at each other with their muzzles raised up to show off their teeth, while circling around each other.
Swiftly Charles jumps and bites down on the left shoulder blade, shaking his head in order to dig his teeth deeper, all the while the leader thrashed around. Charles gets tossed off by the momentum, but quickly got back up and then clamped down on the leader's forehead. The leader snarled in rage from the pain he felt from those teeth that bit down on him, Charles suddenly releases his hold on the head and took a bite on the snout, drawing out blood as the leader snarled in rage.
Moving his head frantically left and right, he makes a sharp fling that threw Charles to the floor. Charles felt that pain from the hard impact, but ignored it as he needed to get back into the fight. The leader is swift though as he rushed forward and clamped his mouth around Charles's midsection, he effortlessly lifted Charles up, biting down hard as he shook him around like a rope, before tossing him away where Charles got slammed against the wall with a bounce before he fell to the floor.
Visible worry filled the pets faces as they looked at their friend, they have a chance to do this since both they and the pack had stopped on what they were doing in order to watch the fight. Charles is motionless, but isn't dead as he is visibility breathing, but isn't in the best conditions since he had visible deep gashes from where the leader clamped down on him, greatly worrying them all.
Looking around to the pack who resume their growling, they all knew that this is a losing battle and they needed to leave right now. Rushing forward, Cliff with the help of El Diablo and the rattlesnake who both wrapped their tails around Charles and pulled him up onto Cliff's back, where they then make themselves into a rope in order for Charles not to fall off of Cliff. With Charles firmly secured they all make run for it, the leader goes to cut them off, but Fangs flew down and bit down on his ear, greatly distracting him as the others ran passed.
Together they all run through the dinning room and kitchen with the pack right behind them. They get out through the pet door in a single file line and then down the porch stairs, during this Garry suddenly separates himself from the group as he instead hops over to the pile of rotten food. Ignoring the horrendous smell, he grabs hold of the food where he then proceeds to throw them at the pursuing pack that made a direct hit, stopping them in their tracks as they react to the smell with whines.
Since they were now distracted, Garry hops off to rejoin his fellow pets as they run away from their former home and into the night with the unconscious Charles on Cliff's back. His friends hope that he is going to be alright as they didn't want to loose him for he is a very close friend to all of them, they already lost one animal friend in the form of Izzy tonight, they didn't need to loose another one. The first thing that they needed to do however is to find a place to settle down in, before attending to their friend that only the future can tell if he is going to be alright or not.
Far out of town. Moving around the halls of the science institute. A lone chimpanzee, (who's name had been James), swung open the door of one of the many laboratories.
James had once been a research subject by some of the scientists who studied his behavior and intelligence. James had actually been in the middle of a test to see how fast he can run on treadmill, when everyone had disappeared suddenly. Ever since that fateful day, he's been going around the institute raiding the fridges and the vending machines, along with using his intelligence to keep the power on by cleaning the solar panels.
He short of missed the scientists as they have treated him well, but he loved having the whole place to himself as it gave him a chance to get a bit wild by trashing some of the rooms in the institute. Entering this room however, James wandered around picking out and dropping books to the floor, along with some models of DNA strands.
Reaching a TV, James took notice of a VHS tape sticking out of a tape player. Feeling very curious of the tape, James pushes it into the player. The TV flickers into static for a bit before the image clears to reveal Dr. William, a scientist that James knew from his days in here.
"Hello? Is this recording? Oh yes, I see the red dot." Straighting himself up. Dr. William clears his throat with a whiteboard full of equations behind him. "Hello I am Doctor William Fredrick and this is my video journal to discuss about my upcoming invention that will surly get me in the history books."
Sitting cross legged, James listens closely to Doctor William's journal that explained a lot about this invention he seems to be very proud of.
