AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hey guys, after this chapter, we only have eleven to go. Also please keep in mind that this show was set in 2003, years before scientists decided that Pluto was no longer a planet.
In the deep vastness of outer space, all the planets in the solar system lined up with each other in a perfect alignment.
CALIS: For thousands of years, my people and I have waited for this day to arrive. The complete planetary alignment of our solar system.
A beam of energy suddenly surged through the planets and headed straight down to Earth. The energy beamed right through the streets of New York, heading deep into the Underground City where the Crystal Moon began to shine brighter than ever.
And with these celestial events, the sparks of power within the long dormant crystals have been renewed.
A beam of light from the Crystal Moon then hit a crystal and suddenly, every crystal began to light up. The beams of light continued into the catacombs.
There are those who fear this alignment will provoke untold disasters upon the Earth, yet it is not the planetary alignment the human race should fear. It is what the alignment has awakened.
The beams of light spread out amongst the people who were frozen in suspended animation, including Calis whose eyes began to glow.
THE ENTITY BELOW
In the lair, Donnie was explaining about the major astronomical event that was taking place in the solar system; the planetary alignment.
He had a grapefruit and several doughnuts out on a table in line to demonstrate the event as he explained, "It's really quite simple to understand. The longitude span of the other eight planets, the moon and the sun, collimate within a geocentric sector of fourteen degrees to form a grand alignment with Earth."
He gestured to his model of the solar system and continued, "Say this grapefruit is the sun right? And Earth is the third doughnut from the…"
He stopped and asked as soon as he saw the doughnut he was referring to was now gone, "Hey! What happened to Earth?"
The sound of chewing could be heard and they all looked at the culprit; Mikey who was currently eating the missing doughnut.
"What?" Mikey asked, as like he did nothing wrong.
Raph slapped him the back of the head and said, "Shell for brains."
"But Don, none of this should have an effect on the Earth right?" Leo asked.
Donnie answered, "Yeah. Astronomically speaking, the planets are just too far apart to exhibit any additional gravitational pull."
Suddenly, the entire lair began to shake hard for a few seconds before stopping.
"And that was just a random earthquake right?" Mikey asked hopefully.
The lair shook again, this time a bit harder that they all fell to the ground. It lasted a few more seconds than before and then stopped. Danny immediately picked up the TV remote and turned on the television as he suggested, "Maybe there's something on the news about it."
And indeed there was. As soon as the screen came on, a reporter began to speak about the earthquakes that just happened, "A live feed from the university's seismograph, rating the earthquakes 7.8 on the rector scale. Closest estimate put the epicentre a thousand miles south of Greenland. Scientists believe that with the current shifting of tectonic plates, we may be witnessing the birth of a new island or even a sub-continent."
The screen then showed flooding and storms as the reporter continued, "With displacement of water so massive, it's dangerously raising the sea level. Unstable temperatures have prompted violent thunderstorms due to reach the eastern seaboard within the hour."
Donnie was confused as he said, "It doesn't make any sense. There must something else at work here."
The lair shook again as another earthquake occurred. Mikey then commented, "I knew we should've listened to that guy with the end is near sign."
The power then suddenly went out. Danny then commented, "Oh great! This is definitely not good."
"Think the whole city is out?" Leo asked.
There was suddenly a glowing blue light coming from Donnie's lab. Donnie then said, "Check it out guys."
Everyone turned and saw the light. They walked over to Donnie's lab and saw on his desk a crystal was glowing once again. Donnie picked it up and said, "No way. This crystal was completely burnt out."
"Well it's not now." Leo said.
"It seems to be supercharged." Donnie guessed.
"How?" Raph asked.
"I don't know." Donnie answered. "It might have something to do with the alignment or…"
He was interrupted by Mikey's loud chewing as he was eating another doughnut from Donnie's solar system example. The orange mask wearing turtle shrugged and said, "What? It's Pluto. Who cares about Pluto?"
Donnie shook his head at his brother and then continued, "Or it might have something to do with the Crystal Moon in the Underground City."
The lair shook once again as another earthquake happened. Knowing there was no time to waste, Donnie and Leo said at the same time, "We better check it out."
They immediately headed to the Turtle Tunneler. Mikey eagerly hopped into the driver's seat as he said, "Remember Donnie? You promised me I could drive!"
Donnie sighed, "Alright. Just try not to grind the gears."
Mikey took control and immediately began to drive the Tunneler down the sewers. The sounds of the gears grinding could be heard, making Leo, Raph, Danny and Donnie look at Mikey.
"Sorry." Mikey said as he fixed his mistake.
He drove the Tunneler to the hole they made last time to get to the Underground City. Donnie then said to them all, "I suggest we all strap in. We dug out these tunnels the last time remember?"
They yelled, cheered and laughed as they went down fast the long slope like it was a rollercoaster ride. Mikey drove faster, over the broken bridge and down the tunnels leading to the city but he was starting to drive way too fast.
"Hit the brakes." Danny called out to Mikey, but he didn't slow down.
They saw they were coming to the edge where the lava flowed and Danny shouted louder, "HIT THE BRAKES!"
They all screamed as they fell off the ledge and fell into the lava. Good thing though that the Tunneler could withstand the river of lava and allowed Mikey to drive it out of the hot molten substance and back onto land.
He parked the machine and they all climbed out, expecting to see the city still empty but were shocked to see something different.
"Umm…what's wrong with this picture?" Leo asked.
They continued to look and were still shocked to see the Crystal Moon was glowing and not only that, there were people walking, gliding on hover boards and flying in small crafts around the city.
"This sure ain't the way we left it." Raph said.
"Yeah. This place is jumping." Mikey added.
"It's as though the entire city has come back to life somehow." Leo said.
Danny could hear something. Some form of chanting coming from deep within the heart of the city. He then told the others, "Guys, I can hear some kind of chanting going on."
Deep within the city at the top of one of the buildings, Calis and three others in cloaks stood together in front of a holographic form of Earth. Beams of energy hit them from the back of a crystal behind them and travelled through their eyes to the model of Earth in front of them.
Calis moved away from the group as he senses something and looked at the crystal around his neck to see. An image of Danny and the Turtles appeared and he said, "So, they have returned and they bought with them the key to our salvation."
He walked over to a bridge and watched as Danny and the Turtles entered through the back of the city. He could hear Raph asked, "Do you think whatever is going on here is the reason for what's happening up top?"
"Let's find out."
Calis reached into the pocket of his robes and pulled out five red crystals. He then threw them to the ground near the lava and the lava flowed to the crystals.
Danny and the Turtles walked closer to the city and then saw a couple of people coming towards them on a hover board.
"Excuse me? Could you please tell us…." Donnie began to ask them, but they just flew right past them.
"It's like they can't even see us." Raph said.
"Oh they see us, but I don't think they care." Danny said.
Suddenly out of the wall in front of them, two lava monsters suddenly formed right in front of them. Three more than formed behind them, completely blocking off their escape as they surrounded them.
"Well, it looks like somebody cares!" Mikey exclaimed.
"What are these things?" Leo asked.
"I don't know! But something tells me these aren't the welcome wagon!" Mikey shouted.
"Any suggestions?" Donnie asked.
"Yeah! Let's kick the magma out of them." Raph answered. He turned to Danny and said, "How about a little snow magic Dan?"
Danny smirked, changed into his ghost form and said as his green eyes then began to glow blue, "On it bro. Fight fire with ice like I always say."
But before Danny could even do anything, a rope with two balls of light wrapped around Danny and he yelled as he suddenly disappeared right before them.
"DANNY!" Leo, Raph, Mikey and Donnie yelled, wondering what happened to their brother.
"Now what do we do?!" Mikey shouted as he dodged a punch from one of the lava monsters. "How do we fight monsters made out of lava?"
Raph jumped onto a ledge and leapt over a lava monster and threw his weapons right at it. But the monster growled and shot a ball of lava right at the sais, hitting them dead on and melting them right before Raph's very eyes.
"That thing slag my blade!" Raph shouted, now he was really angry.
He growled and was about to attack, but his brothers held him back as Leo said, "Guys, we're not winning this one and we need to find Danny."
They ran off, but as soon as they turned the corner more lava monsters walked through the walls and came after them. The Turtles turned around and ran off in another direction, only to find themselves now surrounded by a large group of the mysterious people, led by a female with blue hair.
"Since when did we become so popular?" Donnie asked as they ran off another way, the people coming after them.
They ran until they came to a dead end and the lava monsters appeared cutting them off. They turned and saw the people coming closer to them.
"We're boxed in!" Raph shouted.
They stood ready to fight, but the floor suddenly opened beneath them and they shouted as they fell into some kind of room.
"There's a door!" Leo said and they all ran for it, but then bars of energy closed them off and locked them inside.
"Yeah, a cell door." Donnie commented.
"Not good! Not good at all!" Mikey exclaimed.
Leo pulled out his swords and said, "Well then let's make it good! We have to find Danny and get out of here!"
He bought his blades down, hoping to cut the bars in half to set them free, but as soon as the blade hit the bars, an electric current flowed through and shocked Leo hard sending him falling to the ground.
He groaned in pain from the shock as Donnie and Raph helped him sit up. Mikey then said, "And this is why I have to ask, why do we keep coming back down here?!"
Calis entered the room and stood on the other side of the cell as he said, "I have asked myself the very same question."
"Oh! Not this guy again." Mikey complained, remembering the very first time they met Calis.
When they had first come to the Underground City, Calis had captured the people who were changed into the monsters by the Foot and used the Crystal Moon to change them halfway back to their normal human selves, but he only did it to try and re-populate the city. Danny and the Turtles stopped him and put him in suspended animation, but now he was back and this time he was not alone as it seemed there were more people just like him.
"You should not have returned, but I guess it's not in vain." Calis spoke.
"We wouldn't have come back down here, but whatever is powering the crystals is wreaking havoc on our world." Donnie explained.
Raph had enough. He immediately began to demand, "Look pal, what have you done with our brother Danny?! Whatever you're up to, you better knock it off or…."
Raph never got to finish his threat, as Calis used his powers to surround Raph with crystals and carried him over to the cell bars, hitting his face against it and shocking him, causing him to yell in pain.
"RAPH! / NO! / LET HIM GO!" Leo, Donnie and Mikey shouted.
"Pathetic creatures. This is far beyond your control." Calis sneered as he stopped the assault and released Raph, letting him drop to the ground. "As for your brother, he is fine. In fact, I believe it's time for him to join you all."
Calis snapped his fingers as his crystal began to glow. Danny was suddenly lowered down next to Calis by, bound halfway inside a type of crystal.
"Guys!" Danny called out as he tried to break free.
"Danny!" They all yelled.
Calis walked over to Danny and pulled out a dagger. Suddenly, Calis plunged the dagger right into the Danny's shoulder causing him to scream, his cries of pain only got worse when the crystal he was in began to shock him hard as Calis removed the dagger.
"DANNY! NO!" The Turtles all shouted.
Calis pulled out a goblet and held it at the wound as Danny was being continuously shocked. The entire goblet was filled with Danny's red and green ectoplasmic blood. The torture ended after Calis saw the cup was now completely full.
Danny groaned as he tried to keep awake, but changed back into his human form. Calis then quickly opened the cells and threw Danny inside roughly and cell closed once more. Mikey and Donnie sat Danny up as he continued to grimace from the pain.
"Now I have all my people need to complete our plans." Calis spoke as he grinned. "Finally, after ten thousand years a new day is dawning for my people. The Y'Lynthians shall rule once more."
"You're people?" Leo asked in confusion while he tended to Raph, who was still in pain from the shock. "You told us you were the sole survivor of your kind. That you were peace loving. Why all the lies?"
"At the time I had limited power. I needed your help to maintain my city, so I said what I had to." Calis answered.
Donnie finished wrapping Danny's wound on his arm, using a bit of his sleeve. He then asked, "I don't understand. What is it you Y'Lynthians are trying to do? And why did you need Danny's blood?"
"Re-shape the world. The way it used to be and as for your brother's blood, it's the final thing we need to ensure that it happens." Calis answered.
"We won't stand by and let this happened." Leo said defiantly as he helped Raph stand back up.
"It is already happening and there is nothing you can do about it. You shall be the first slaves of the new world order." Calis said and then walked away, laughing in the air.
An hour later, Raph was trying to break through the wall using a piece of rock but only succeeded in making a dent.
"This is going to take a month." Raph groaned.
Danny once again tried changing into his ghost form, hoping to simply phase them out of the cell but thanks to the shock, his powers were weakened and we're taking a while to get back. Leo, Donnie and Mikey were standing on each other, trying to reach back up to the roof, but found that it was way too high.
Suddenly the wall in front of them began to melt from lava. Mikey shouted as they stood ready to fight, "Now what? More lava monsters?!"
The wall then exploded and when the smoke cleared, there was now a huge hole and standing there was the female Y'Lynthian they had seen before when they were being chased.
"Come with me if you want to live." She said to them.
"I want to live! How about you guys?" Mikey said.
"Anything is better than being locked up in here." Danny said.
"Let's go, but be ready for anything." Leo warned as they followed her, after everything that's happened so far, he wasn't just sure as whether or not they could trust their saviour.
After they followed her for some time, Leo then asked, "So who are you? And why are you helping us?"
"Yeah. Aren't you one of them?" Raph asked.
"All will be revealed. Now follow me." She answered and gestured to keep moving.
They continued to follow her as she finally introduced herself, "My name is Versalia. I am an Y'Lynthian but I am not like the others."
She bought them to a door and said as she raised her crystal pendant, "We must stop them."
Her crystal glowed and the door opened before them, revealing a chamber. They followed her inside as Danny pointed out, "Stop them? But we don't even know what they're doing."
"Then you will learn here in the Chamber of Chronicles. Here, you will learn the truth of the past." Versalia said as they came to a large clear mirror like screen.
"I don't know. Last movie we watched down here turned out to be a pack of lies." Mikey said.
"Please watch." Versalia pleaded as the screen showed an image of an island. "We were at a different age. A time where long ago, Y'Lynthians held unassailable dominion over the Earth. We were the first."
The Y'Lynthians on the island heard a noise coming from the sky and watched as several balls of fire crashed onto the island and at the top of a mountain, a massive explosion hit the top and when the smoke cleared, it revealed the large crystal known as the Crystal Moon rested.
"The chosen. The heavens bestowed upon us power beyond imagining in the form of mighty crystals from the stars. The largest of these crystals, the one we call the Crystal Moon came to rest on Mount Timeous, overlooking the entire continent."
The screen then showed the planetary alignment super-charging the Crystal Moon, making it glow bright with energy.
"As a final gift from the heavens, the planetary alignment powered the Crystal Moon and charged it with unbelievable energy. Crystal energy we harnessed to build the largest and most splendid civilisation on Earth."
The screen showed time passing and the island had now grown into some form of ancient high tech paradise. There were flying vehicles and the people seemed to live peacefully and more grand thanks to the crystals.
"But we Y'Lynthians had advanced so far and so fast, we began to believe ourselves superior to all others. We enslaved many innocent humans and even innocent ghosts from the Ghost Zone and used them as our slaves."
The screen showed the Y'Lynthians buying human slaves and used the crystals to enslave ghosts from the Ghost Zone.
"And when the humans could not do the jobs we imposed upon them, the un-limitless power of our Crystal Moon was used to mutate them into creatures better suited to serve our selfish needs."
They watched the screen as the Y'Lynthians used the power of the Crystal Moon to change a man into some sort of fish mutant with green scales, gills and all. The fish mutant jumped into the water where there were many others.
"Water breathers, to bring us the bounty of the sea."
The screen then showed the same Green-Man Donnie, Danny and Mikey had met when they first went to stay at Casey's farmhouse, but there were many more and they were pulling carts and building monuments.
"Monstrous beasts of burden to raise our monuments and dig our canals."
The screen then showed several men and women now with wings on their backs flying the sky and capturing Y'Lynthians who were trying to escape the island by boats.
"And Avians to control the skies and prevent certain Y'Lynthians from escaping. Y'Lynthians who like me, detested the dark ways of our own people."
The screen then showed ghosts being held by crystal chains and whipped by Y'Lynthians to work endlessly. Other ghosts were being forced to train as warriors to fight.
"The ghosts we captured were not only used as slaves in homes, but also as warriors to fight in our battles."
They watched as a human and ghost were being drawn of their blood by Y'Lynthians who then poured it onto the Crystal Moon.
"We also had to use both human and ghost blood in order to keep the Crystal Moon energised for more powerful uses. That is why Calis took your blood young halfa. Since you are both human and ghost, it can keep the Crystal Moon energised and give it an extra boost of power for my people's plan."
The screen the changed to show several ships coming to the island, sounds of drums and horns of war could be heard from them.
"And then an uprising. The human cultures banded together to launch an attack on our home. The Y'Lynthians were taken by surprise."
Y'Lynthian people ran from the boulders being thrown from the ships screaming and taking cover as the battle continued.
"The High Council gathered in the Star Chamber to take retaliatory action and the slaves were ordered to turn the power of our Crystal Moon into the most devastating of weapons."
Green Men rose a green crystal up on a platform. A beam of energy came down from the Crystal Moon and hit the green crystal, which then beamed down on one of the ships and completely destroyed it. The Green Men turned the green crystal on the platform, sending the energy beam to the other ships and completely taking them out as well.
"But many slaves were allied with the human forces, determined to put an end to their cruel Y'Lynthian task masters."
Behind the council members, several Water Breathers snuck upon from behind out of the water and attacked them. All the slaves began to fight for their freedom alongside with the humans. The Green Men turning the green crystal then moved it around, sending the beam of energy back to the Crystal Moon.
"The power of our Crystal Moon was turned back upon itself with catastrophic consequences."
There was a sudden explosion and suddenly, the entire island sank beneath the waves disappearing forever.
"And the fable island of Y'Lynthias sank beneath the waves."
That's when Mikey realised something and spoke out, "Wait a minute! The fabled island of Y'Lynthias? You mean Y'Lynthias is really…."
Knowing what Mikey was realising as well, Donnie smiled and finished for him, "Atlantis! Of course! Why didn't I get it before? You guys are from the lost city of Atlantis. Unbelievable."
Versalia nodded and gestured back to the screen as she continued the story, "Yes. We may be all that remains of the once great civilisation. A few of us managed to escape destruction and took a fragment of the Crystal Moon."
They watched on the screen as what was left of the Crystal Moon was on a large ship and was now placed at the top of the cavern, hanging over the large Underground City for which they were in now.
"Though its power was hugely diminished, it was enough to give life to a vast underground refuge. However in time, this smaller power source ultimately began to weaken and without slaves, the Y'Lynthians found they were unable to survive on their own or even use the blood source of a ghost and a human to give the Crystal Moon a power boost."
The Crystal Moon's power faded and soon enough, all the people and their advancements ceased. The Y'Lynthians then entered the catacombs and were placed in suspended animation. All except Calis who exited the chamber.
"So they chose to go into crystal suspension, until the next planetary alignment could re-charge the crystal. Only one remained, the High Mage Calis. It was his task to watch over the city until the Crystal Moon could be re-charged."
The screen went blank and Versalia finished, "And now all has been fore filled as seen by the High Council. The alignment has come to pass, the Crystal Moon has been re-charged and with also the help of your brother's blood, the council now have the power to speed up the process of using the Crystal Moon to raise the ancient city from the sea."
Donnie knew the consequences of doing that and said, "And with a sudden geologic change on such a massive scale, continents will shift and sink. Most of the human race will be wiped out. It will be the end of the world as we know it."
"Then we gotta stop them!" Raph said, punching his fists together.
Leo thought of an idea, "Maybe we can take a page out of Y'Lynthian history and sabotage the crystal power source just like the slaves did."
Raph grinned at the sound of that, "Sabotage? Sounds like a plan."
They exited the chamber and Versalia led them to another room, where there armour and weapons hanging up.
"I can get a prism large enough to interfere with the energy beam, but we will have to gain access to the Star Chamber. It will not be easy." Versalia said.
"Especially if there are more of those lava monsters around." Mikey pointed out.
She gestured to the armour and staffs with crystals at the top and explained, "This armour will protect you from the Lava Wraiths. If you dislodge the fire crystals from within their bodies with these staffs, the Lava Wraiths will disintegrate."
Raph grabbed one of the staffs and said with a smile, "Good. It's for a little payback, those goons melted my sais."
Danny tried once again and finally was able to change back into his ghost form. He smiled and said, "I'm up for a little payback as well. No-one stabs me in the arm and gets away with it."
"Let's suit up boys." Leo ordered as they bought their staffs together.
Up in the Star Chamber, the High Council continued to chant to raise the island while the Lava Wraiths stood guard. Calis gave the goblet of Danny's blood to another Y'Lynthian who flew up the Crystal moon using a hover board and rubbed the blood onto the Crystal Moon. The crystal suddenly began to shine even brighter and the energy became more powerful back in the Star Chamber, showing that the top of the island was rising even quicker.
With their armour now on and weapons ready, Danny and the Turtles were now ready to fight to save the world. They stood at the bottom of the building where the Star Chamber was.
Versalia stood on a hover board and handed Leo a medium sized prism crystal as she said, "This will enable you to stop the crystal energy flow."
Leo held the crystal and said, "Thanks."
He turned to his brothers and checked, "Everyone clear on the plan?"
They all nodded and Leo ordered, "Be careful."
Versalia flew off and Leo began to climb up the side of the building, heading for the top of the Star Chamber.
"Alrighty then. Turtle and Halfa Army Force, move out." Mikey said.
Mikey, Raph, Donnie and Danny ran inside to commence the plan. Leo reached the first level and climbed onto the balcony. He carefully checked to make sure it was clear before heading towards the next part to start climbing the rest of the way.
"So far, so…." Leo began to say, but stopped when a Lava Wraith phased through the wall right in front of him.
He quickly leapt out of the way before the Lava Wraith could wrap its arms around him to attack. Leo pulled out his staff and pulled it out ready to fight, "Okay. Now where's that crystal heart of yours?"
He swung the staff and sliced the Lava Wraith on its side, showing the staff really works against them. The monster however managed to punch Leo in the chest, sending him nearly over the edge, had he not been able to quickly regain his balance.
Leo looked down at the where the punch hit him and saw although there was a dent, the molten lava did not penetrate through.
"At least we know the armour works." Leo commented. "Now let's give the staff another try."
The Lava Wraith sent a lava blast at him, but Leo jumped up and dodged it before charging forward. He jumped up and sliced the monster down, revealing the red crystal and he quickly dislodged it, causing the monster to fade away and leaving nothing but a puddle of lava.
"Wow! Y'Lynthian battle armour. Don't storm the Star Chamber without it." Leo said, admiring the armour and weapons.
Meanwhile, Danny, Raph, Mikey and Donnie continued their own way to the Star Chamber from inside.
"Hey Danny?" Mikey called out.
"What?" Danny asked.
"Does my butt look big in this outfit?" Mikey asked.
Danny groaned, "Bro, not the best time."
They were unaware that a Lava Wraith was sneaking up from behind them. They continued on until they saw Lava Wraith appear from the side, another two then formed in front of them and they then heard the sound of another one coming towards them from behind, completely surrounding them.
One of them punched Donnie, but thanks to the armour he was safe from being burned to a crisp. Donnie got up and used the staff to block an oncoming lava blast. He ran up and stabbed the monster in the back and then tried to swipe at it again, but it punched Donnie right into the wall.
Donnie got back up and waited for the Lava Wraith to charge at him, before he jumped out of the way and sliced the monster in half. He then threw the staff right at the middle of his chest and stabbed it right into its crystal heart. The monster then faded away into a puddle of lava, leaving the crystal now powerless as it fell to the ground.
"Hey guys it works! Aim for their crystal heart!" Donnie called out to the others who were facing their own Lava Wraiths.
The Lava Wraith grabbed Mikey and raised him in the air. Mikey shouted as he was held in its mighty grip, "Easier said than done!"
The monster slammed Mikey to the ground and the turtle quickly dodged the next punch by rolling out of the way and stood behind it. The monster morphed its face to face Mikey.
"GROSS!" Mikey exclaimed, completely grossed out by what it did.
He then sliced at its legs, causing the monster to lose its balance and fall to the ground. Before it could get back up and reform its legs, Mikey quickly stabbed it right into its crystal heart and disintegrated it.
"Aw! Did I break your heart?" Mikey quipped.
Danny continued to dodge the swipes of the Lava Wraith he was facing. He then jumped up and flipped right over it, before landing on his knees and sending a huge ice blast from his hands, hitting the monster dead on its back and causing the entire thing to steam as it getting hit by the coldness.
The lava monster turned brown as it was cooled down to rock and then Danny threw his staff right into its chest and completely stabbed the crystal heart, destroying the Lava Wraith into pieces as it did.
"As I said, fight fire with ice I always say." Danny quipped once again.
Raph was having a little trouble with his Lava Wraith, as it managed to grab Raph with its body. It leaned forward to bite Raph, but he used his staff to hold it back. But the monster used its mouth to melt the middle of the staff and break it in half.
Raph however spun his now new weapon like he would with his sais and sliced the head right off, causing it to let him go.
"Okay, now let's find that crystal of yours!" Raph said.
Then monster re-attached his head and then threw a blast at Raph. Raph blocked the blast with the first half of the staff.
He then threw the other one straight at the monster as he said, "Right back at ya!"
The weapon went right through and dislodged the crystal heart with it. The Lava Wraith then fell apart and was no more.
"Clean up on Isle 12." Mikey joked.
"SHUT UP!" Raph snapped, getting annoyed with Mikey's jokes. They then continued on, heading for the Star Chamber, continuing on with their plan.
At the top, Calis's crystal suddenly began to glow, indicating to him what happened.
He stopped chanting and said to the other members of the High Council, "Our centuries have failed. Maintain your focus, the island must continue to rise. I will deal with the intruders."
He walked towards the door, only to find his path blocked by Danny, Raph, Donnie and Mikey.
"Roll out the welcome mat and break out the bone china! You got company!" Mikey quipped.
Calis was now angry, "You dare decimate the Star Chamber?!"
He touched his crystal and began to levitate all four of them, while also sending them electrical shocks.
"Fools! You are no match for my power!" He sneered.
"We know…that's why we're not here to fight you!" Danny said.
"Yeah! We're here to distract you!" Mikey added.
Leo appeared from the top and presented the prism crystal as he said, "Your crazy ritual is wreaking havoc across the globe, but it stops now!"
Calis looked and realised what he was going to do. He looked in shock and shouted, "NO!"
He dropped the others in his shock, but Leo acted quickly and said as he slammed the prism crystal into the one they were channelling energy from, "YES!"
The reaction was immediate! The beams of energy scattered everywhere, stopping the High Council and Calis from raising the island and also beginning to shatter the entire Star Chamber. Versalia bought down the hover board and joined them.
"You have done it! Now come, we must flee the city!" She said and the Turtles climbed onto the hover board while Danny flew beside them.
The entire Underground City began to shake and it began to sink within the river of lava. The beams of energy then hit the Crystal Moon and caused it to lose its power and fall from the top of the cavern right into the lava.
Without the power of the Crystal Moon, the hover board stopped working and they began to fall.
Danny shouted as he held out his hand, "EVERYONE GRAB ON!"
They quickly grabbed onto Danny who flew them all onto the high ledge of the cavern. They all removed their helmets and watched with Versalia as the rest of the Underground City was completely destroyed by the lava.
"Close call, but we did it." Leo said, placing a hand on Versalia's shoulder.
Tears fell from her eyes as she said in sadness, "The world is safe, but I lost everything I have ever known."
Unable to take it anymore, she allowed her tears to fully fall as she began to cry and mourn. Although she did the right thing, the price was very high and deep to her own heart.
After removing the armour, they headed to the entrances of the other tunnels and Versalia stood at one of the entrances to the many tunnels.
"Where will you go Versalia?" Leo asked her.
"I have heard long ago of other underground cities where Y'Lynthians like myself fled the dark empire." She answered. "I hope to find them."
"Well if you ever get topside, look us up." Donnie said.
Versalia smiled at them all and said, "Farewell my friends. Safe journey to you all."
She turned and began to make her journey. Leo then said, "Come on. Let's get back to the Tunneler and head home."
"And Mikey, you are not driving." Raph said, not wanting to deal with his brother's crazy driving this time.
"Letting me drive is the least you can do for dragging me back down here to creepy cavern." Mikey said.
"Suck it up Mikey." Raph said, tired of his complaining.
"And besides look at the bright side, we'll never have to come back down here again." Leo said.
Mikey scoffed, "Yeah, that's what you said the last time and the time before that, and the time before that…."
As Mikey continued, Raph growled and was ready to hit him, but Danny held up his hand to stop him. But instead, Danny reached over yanked Mikey by the ends of his mask.
"OW!" Mikey yelped.
