A/N: Hey Guys! I've been very busy these past couple of months but this story was always on my mind. I finally finished the next chapter. Only 2 more until this arc is finished. I got a fair bit of time these upcoming weeks so I'm going to use this advantage to write more chapters.

Enjoy :3

-Lvl 1-

I don't believe it...

When Leaf said that the potency of berries would drastically increase inside the dungeon, he really meant it. It wasn't instantaneous but it was quick. My muscle spasmed as I felt blood rushing from the areas I got hit. I felt rejuvenated as I clenched my left paw a couple of times and felt no pain. It was so surreal.

I turned my attention to Leaf who was smiling. Apparently, he watched my fight against that Rattata, and from the looks of it, he was rather impressed at what I did.

"Wow, Scorbs! You took that Rattata out without using any moves! I never knew you can do martial arts!" Leaf said.

"Martial...Arts?" I repeated.

"Yeah! I thought only fighting types know how to use them. It's apparently how humans used to fight. Some Fighting types practice it in honor of the humans who have taught it to them, but Riolu said she'd rather use moves than use martial arts because of how useless they are but I really doubt that now seeing you use it!" Leaf explained.

So fighting without using moves equates to martial arts eh? I guess that sounds about right. For Pokemon's to depend on their moves, they couldn't really fathom engaging in a fight without using them. So for Pokemon's to see someone fighting without using any moves at all in battle must've been an impressive feat to them.

But useless? I don't think so as it can be used effectively. I may not know martial arts but with a little bit of physics applied during battling and with my new body, I might be able to pull it off, but with a little bit of practice though...

Leaf gave me an idea. The rush of excitement I felt during that battle made me want to do it again. If I can help Leaf with more than just healing him up, I'd gladly do it.

-5th Floor-

Over the next few encounters, I slowly started to assist Leaf not only with item management and support but also with battles as well. I still have a lot to learn and no matter what I do, I couldn't perform any moves at all but I did get a feel as to how my body worked. It felt amazing. My reflexes were fast, my sense of balance is something to behold and my body feels light and flexible.

I could jump higher and I even started performing backflips along the way. Learning how the enemy fight was my top priority and finding their weak spots became easier and easier.

It still took a while for me to knock them down but it was doable so I started using my surroundings to my advantage. Picking up rocks and throwing it at them and even using dirt to impair their eyesight. It proved rather effective that I stashed some pebbles into my bag just in case.

Between battles, Leaf would always ask me about how he battled and the rationale behind my actions. Needless to say, Leaf was more than impressed with what I could do despite being the weaker one between the two of us.

-9th Floor-

We have been moving at a decent pace. Items were used and found along the way. We found some orbs and learned how to use a variety of items including a seed known as reviver seed which restores a Pokemon back to full health when they faint. We had used one when Leaf got knocked out during one of our encounters but as luck would have it, we found a couple along the way but with our bag full we had to toss out some items to make room for it.

I can tell we were getting stronger. I still couldn't use any moves at all but I was now used to battle. Leaf's moves were packing quite a punch as well but we were quickly getting tired. We needed to rest but without any safe place to do so, we had no choice but to move on.

-10th Floor-

It was a dead-end... Were we at the end of the dungeon? This is what a safe zone looks like right? It was just one room. The entrance we came from was covered in fog and there were no pokemon whatsoever. There was a river on the side as well. As to how the water got here is beyond me. The area seems to be a perfect place to finally rest. I was getting very tired and by the looks of it so does Leaf.

"Hey Leaf. I think this is the safe zone was talking about. There is no wild pokemon here so we can finally rest. All we need to do now is to wait until someone rescues us. Besides, I'm getting tired and I know you are too. The dungeon does indeed enhance our stamina but I guess it's not much" I suggested to Leaf. He sighed with relief as he plopped down on the ground. I did too for a good while when I heard Leaf's stomach rumbled.

"Hungry?" I chuckled earning a blush from the Pokemon.

"We only have 1 apple and I am hungry too." I pondered for a moment when suddenly.

Splash

There were Pokemons in the river. A took a look closer but they seem docile. They were not the dangerous kind but rather the...edible kind...

Goldeens were splashing in the river. That should take care of our hunger problems. But then there's Leaf...Is he a herbivore?

"Are you a herbivore by any chance Leaf?" I asked.

"A herbi what?" He answered back.

"You know... You're a grass type, right? Do you eat meat?" I further explained

"Of course I do! Not all grass types are plant eaters you know!" Leaf seemed to be offended by that so I apologized to him and pointed at the Goldeens.

"There's our meal Leaf!" I grinned.

"But we're not water types and we don't have those fishing nets to catch them." Leaf pointed out.

"True, but there are other ways to fish. In fact, all the materials we need are right here." I explained.

Leaf just tilted his head as I grabbed a knife out of my bag.

"I knew this would come in handy." I raised the knife up at the sky, my face reflected into the metal in the process.

"Why do you have a knife in your bag?" Leafed asked.

"It's a woodcarving knife. I got it as a present. I'm quite good when it comes to wood believe it or not." I corrected Leaf as I inspected the nearby trees.

After our exchange, I looked for some branches. I managed to find a decent one. It was somewhat heavy but I could still pick it up, and it was a perfect size, then with the knife I had, I sharpened the tip until it was all pointy.

"This should suffice. Now, all we need to do is to impale the Goldeens with it. I'm quite rusty at it but here goes."

Leaf watched intently as I silently aimed at the Goldeens. When the opportunity arrived, I let the spear loose and then.

Whack!

I was rusty indeed but it only took a couple of tries. Now with two small Goldeens on a stick, I asked Leaf to watch them for me while I look for more material.

"All we need to do is cook them. I'm sure they're more satisfying than one lousy apple." I commented as I began to sharpen another stick.

Leaf had abandoned his duties rather quickly in favor of watching me but I didn't care. There was no one here except for us.

"You can't use a move, can you? It's really weird. We usually know at least one move after hatching. How can you make fire without your moves? We don't have any firestone fragments either so it's impossible to do so." Leaf bluntly pointed it out. It was clear he was getting frustrated watching me do things he didn't understand I guess he caught on but never mentioned it to me until now.

"I'm sorry for not telling you Leaf. I was afraid that if I'd told you, you'd start panicking. We wouldn't have survived if the only pokemon that knows how to use moves didn't have the right mindset. I know I was helpless so I did the best I can to get your confidence up and healed you up when you're in a pinch. I'm glad I get to learn how to fight even if I'm not strong enough, at least I could give you back up." I said only to get a hmph from Leaf. I guess I really did make him mad.

I made the tinder and then placed them on the withered grass I've gathered. After a good while, I placed them in the campfire. We now had a fire which made Treecko's eyes widen.

"H..HOW!? What are you some kind of Legendary Pokemon!?" Leaf balked out only to see my confused face as I tilted my head.

"Making fire is easy Leaf. Anyone can do it even without firestone fragments..." I told him but apparently, that was a mistake.

"ONLY FIRE TYPES CAN NATURALLY DO IT WITH THEIR MOVES! YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE ONE! WE NON FIRE TYPES NEED TO USE FIRSTONE FRAGMENTS IN ORDER TO MAKE FIRE!" Leaf yelled his heart out as tears fell from his eyes. It was clear that Leaf was in distress. He was holding it all in till now. I didn't say anything as I just cooked our fish. I gave him some room when he finally spoke.

"I'm..sorry Scorbs... I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at myself! You say you're useless but it's me that is the useless one, not you. Seeing you help me...Seeing you so calm and collected and even capable! Compared to me, I can't even do a thing except fight! We're both kids but you...Being with you is like being with a grown up. The things you do are very amazing. Even fighting without using moves. It just frustrates me you know...Being too dependent on you." Leaf cried as he sat beside me.

I placed my paw on his shoulder as I reassured him once again. "Thanks, Leaf. For saying I'm not useless. I view myself as the useless one and you as the more useful one. I guess everyone doubts themselves every now and then."

This seemed to calm Leaf. I wiped his tears off and gave him the fish.

"Gah! You're so wise! It's like speaking to a grown Pokemon! You're creeping me out Scorbs!" Leaf joked as we have a good laugh. We both ate our food and later prepared for the upcoming darkness. It was already getting dark so I made sure to keep a good stock of wood nearby to prolong our campfire.

"You know...You'd make a good Scholar Scorbs. You're like the smartest Pokemon I know...Hey! Can you teach me how to make fire too? Can I really do it? What about fishing? What are you doing?" Leaf asked a barrage of questions. Only to get a chuckle out of me.

"I promise I will teach you Leaf. It's not that hard to fish and to make fire. It just needs a bit of practice. Oh and this?" I showed Leaf a block of wood that I began carving. "I'm just carving wood. It helps me relax." Leaf got up and scooted next to me.

It was a good while of Leaf asking me stuff to which I answered he was amazed at how knowledgeable I am and never even doubted my answers.

"Done! Looks good eh? Why don't you keep it." I said smiling as I gave me the wooden figure I made. Leaf gawked at the figure as he examined it. It was a carving of a Scorbunny and a Treecko holding hands together.

"Scorbs! This is...Wow! It's like a Smeargle made this. This is so cool! I'll take good care of it Scorbs! Really!" Leaf hugged the figurine as he finally went back to his spot and lay down.

"Consider that a token of our friendship Leaf and the memories of how we first met." I said as I prepared for sleep myself. I chucked in a couple of firewood before getting my we deserved rest.
