The Gift

Okay. I'm really bored right now. I have writer's block as well. So I'll just do something for…um…fun…? Whatever. Based on the song The Gift. I didn't look the lyrics up then make the sentences. I have memorized the song. I won't put the lyrics to the song…it's not allowed. BOO! In this story, Beast Boy is taller than Raven.

Snow was falling from the sky. Children were laughing all around the houses. Lights were turning on, like a fairy tale out of a book. In Titan Tower, two figures were sitting by the fireplace in the common room. 'You're the answer when I prayed that I would find someone. Five months later I found you.' Thought the two at the same time. 'And all I want is to hold you forever.' Thought one of the figures. 'And all I need is you more everyday.' Thought the other. 'You saved my heart from being broken apart.' They both thought. 'You gave your love away. And I'm thankful everyday. For the gift.' Thought the second figure.

You see, Be- oops, I mean, the…uh…first figure, who was a guy, had given Ra- oops, I meant the…uh…second figure, who's a girl, a bouquet of flowers earlier that year, in Spring. She remembered it very well, as did the guy. "I'm going to bed." Said the second figure. She walked up the stairs, and into her room.

As soon as she went to sleep, he looked at her, mumbling something that only she would be able to hear. "Watching you softly sleep. Oh what I'd give if I could keep this moment. If only time stood still. But the colors fade away, and the years will make us gray. Although you may think you're not, in my eyes, you'll still be beautiful. And all I want is to hold you forever; and all I need is you more everyday. You saved my heart from being broken apart."

He didn't know that the girl had awoken when he started talking. "You gave your love away, and I'm thankful everyday for the gift." She said in reply, sitting up in her bed, looking at him. (I'll stop copying the song now)

"You heard me, Raven?" he asked, surprised. "Yeah. Did you mean what you said about me being beautiful?" she asked. "Yeah, well…you are…in my eyes at least…" he muttered. "The only other person who said that was a liar. So how can I believe you?" she replied. "Well, just because most of that lying, manipulating dragon said wasn't true, doesn't mean that a small fraction of it wasn't true." he replied. She allowed a small, sweet, smile cross her features.

"Thank you, Beast Boy. Thank you for the compliment. But I'd appreciate it if you'd tell me where you learned the word 'manipulating'." she said. He laughed. "Ever heard of the T.V. and the dictionary?" ha asked, laughing. He hesitated, and then pressed his lips on hers. She was surprised, but began to kiss him back. "I love you, Raven." He smiled. "I love you too, Beast Boy." No matter how many times she threw him into walls, he would still love her, and she him.

Sometimes, simple gifts like flowers can do big things.
