Harumi's POV:
"Congratulations, Empress Harumi Carter."
The crowd cheered as I looked up at the sky, with my child and boyfriend right next to me
"Mother, father, I hope your proud of me." I thought while tears of happiness rolled down my face and onto the floor
3 months later...
Wow.
Who knew being Empress would be so much work?
It always looked hard from when Harumi saw it, but she never thought it would be this hard
People are always shouting at you, your always passing laws and signing bills, and you can never get a day to break
The first 2 weeks of her being Empress, Harumi was so stressed out that she started going to intense therapy and talking it out there
The first bill she signed was a pro-trans executive order. The order not only required teachers and healthcare workers to use student's preferred pronouns and names, but also not tell the student's parents about their identity. Sure, there was some resistance, but it's 2021. Not 1957. So, she signed the bill. Yes, there were protests, and yes, she got death threats, but the praise she got decimated the hate she got
She also signed bills protecting LGBTQ students, black and non-white students, gender non-conforming students, and immigrants who are students. And, so far, suicide rates in the LGBTQ+ youth in Ninjago City were going down. She had actually received Instagram messages from LGBTQ people saying she had saved their lives
Aside from signing bills and orders, she is now the first Empress to be openly part of the LGBTQ+. All it took was a simple tweet and boom, she made history
What people don't understand about being bisexual is you will date both genders, not just one. So, people are mean to her because she's a bisexual girl dating a straight man. She and Lloyd both tried to explain its perfectly ok, but nobody seemed to listen. Even Rebecca, her ex, came out and said its ok to date, someone of the opposite sex, when you're not straight
Rebecca's Twitter:
"I honestly don't understand the people coming after my ex-girlfriend, Harumi Carter, for dating a straight man. She is bisexual. She is attracted to both men and women. Stop complaining about her loving who she wants to love and let her live her goddamn life."
Lloyd's Twitter:
"Although I am straight, and I am only attracted to women, that does not mean that bisexuals dating straight people is wrong. If my girlfriend is attracted to both men and women, then she can date both. There is nothing wrong with love."
After those tweets, Harumi being bisexual and dating a man became a huge thing on social media, with one half supporting Harumi dating Lloyd and the other being opposed to that and saying Harumi is lesbian in denial
Supportive half:
"Leave Harumi Carter alone!"
"Guys, she is loving who she wants to love. Let her be!"
"What do you all find so scary about bisexuals in the media?"
Un-supportive half:
"Alright, take a poll. How many of you guys think Harumi Carter is lesbian in denial?"
"Bisexuals in the media = gay or lesbian in denial"
"Ugh, can't she keep her life to herself?"
It got so bad that Harumi tweeted herself to try and stop it
"Honest question. What do you all find so scary about bisexuals in the media? If I wasn't attracted to men, I wouldn't date one or have a kid with one. I love Lloyd, and he loves me. Please remember that if you have nothing nice to say, just say nothing at all. Keep your opinions to yourself. It's not that hard."
Unfortunately, that didn't do much, and sparked more arguments
Eventually, Twitter started banning accounts that were hating on Harumi for being bisexual, and TikTok and Instagram did the same. And that was that
However, being Empress wasn't the only thing that was hard. She also had to keep her 2 1/2-year-old daughter safe from all the media coverage, and from Ryan
Now that Ryan was out of prison, Harumi had hired security to surround the palace, and wait outside Crystal's room at night, which was right across the hall from Harumi and Lloyd's room. So far, he had not been a problem, as he had promised, but she was still cautious. She wasn't taking any chances
The only people who have visitation rights for Crystal were Skylor, Nya, Jay, Kai, Lloyd, Zane, Cole, PIXAL, Garmadon, Misako, Edna, Ed, Sensei Wu, Maya, Ray, Killow, Rebecca, Ultraviolet, Katherine (UVs girlfriend in case anybody forgot), Haru (UVs brother in case anyone forgot that too) Ultraviolets parents, Chen (under supervision by Skylor or her), palace workers, and her manager, Chris. Anybody else wasn't allowed to see Crystal in person until further notice
One day, Harumi was thinking about how her life might have turned out if Lloyd wasn't there and she had to raise Crystal on her own. It just so happened that Lloyd walked in right when she was thinking about that
"You ok?" Lloyd asked Harumi once he saw her sitting at her window
Harumi was so startled that she nearly fell off the window sill
"I'm fine."
"You don't look fine."
"Lloyd, I'm fine."
Lloyd walked over to her
"Harumi, your my girlfriend and the mother of our daughter. I know when somethings up."
Harumi sighed
"It's really stupid."
"Human thoughts aren't stupid."
"I keep thinking about what life might have looked like if you had left me and I had to raise Crystal on my own."
"And what makes you think I would have left you?" Lloyd asked Harumi after he sat down next to her
"Well, you did tell me you considered it, and I guess nobody wants to be a teen dad."
"Harumi, the fact that I did as much to even consider leaving you was stupid and immature. Actions have consequences."
"But don't you regret having Crystal?"
This time, Lloyd was the one who sighed
"I regret having her at the time I did, but I don't regret having her. Those were your words. Harumi, if we hadn't had Crystal, we would not have gotten back together, you would not have healed from your past, things wouldn't have gotten cleared up, and I probably wouldn't have made up with my father. Things happen for a reason, and Crystal was the reason we were able to save us."
Suddenly, Crystal got up from the floor and looked out the window. Suddenly, the dog ran in and started barking, and Crystal let out a bloodcurdling scream
Harumi picked Crystal up and looked out the window for herself. Suddenly, she also screamed
Mike was walking up to the palace with an assault rifle in hand
Immediately, Harumi locked down the palace and ordered all servants and workers to find a safe hiding spot
"Harumi, I don't have a good feeling about this." Lloyd said once Harumi locked down the palace
"I don't either."
"What about Nya and Jay? And Skylor, Kai, Cole, all of our friends! What if they aren't safe?"
"Shit!" Harumi yelled out and called Nyas cell
Unfortunately, the call went to voicemail and Harumi was unable to get ahold of her
"Nya didn't pick up."
Lloyd started to panic
"What do we do?"
Harumi left the room, and got her pistol and handgun from the attic
Harumi threw the handgun into Lloyds hands
"Use this. I'm going to look for Nya and I'm going to order an evacuation on the palace city."
Crystal tugged at her dads arm
"Daddy, what's going on?"
Lloyd looked down at Crystal
"It'll all be fine honey. There is just a situation."
Lloyd looked startled as he processed what Harumi said
"Harumi, wait!"
But she was already gone
After the evacuation was ordered, Harumi left the palace and started towards Nya and Jays house
She had to be there, she had to!
Finally, Harumi found Nyas house and pushed the door open
"Nya, Nya! Where are you!"
No answer
"Jay!"
No answer again
Harumi started to panic, then calmed down. She probably left when the evacuation was ordered
Suddenly, Harumi heard a voice
"We're here!"
Harumi rushed up to Jay and Nya's room and saw them both in a corner, with Jay hugging Nya and Nya holding a knife
"We thought you were an intruder."
Harumi grabbed Nya and Jay's hands and helped them up
"That's ok. Are you both ok? Did he come in?"
"Did who come in?"
That's when it dawned on Harumi Nya had no idea what was going on
"Someone dangerous. Are you both hurt?"
"I'm ok, and Jay is too. Who is the person?"
Harumi sighed
"Mike, Nya. Come on, we have to go!"
Harumi tried to pull Nya up to no avail
"Why? Why is he here? Why can't he just leave everyone alone?" Nya cried
"I don't know, sweetie. But Harumi's right, we have to go. It's not safe here." Jay told Nya
Nya nodded and started to leave with Jay and Harumi
Once they got downstairs, Jay left the knife on the counter
When Nya and Harumi questioned him, Jay tried to explain
"I don't want people to question, and I also don't want to get arrested."
"Fair enough."
Once Nya, Harumi, and Jay got out to the sidewalk, the first person they saw was none other than Mike
Somehow, Nya didn't have a PTSD attack as Jay grabbed her hand and rushed her around the corner, with Harumi close behind
Unfortunately, Nya tripped and fell on the sidewalk and before Jay could grab her, Mike grabbed her arm
Nya screamed and Jay started to attack Mike
"Let her go!" Jay yelled as he shot lightning at him
Mike dodged it and shot at Jay and Harumi. The bullet missed them both
"If you continue fighting me, I will kill her." Mike said as he held the gun to Nya's face
Jay and Harumi stopped
"Just let me go, Jay. I will figure this out." Nya said
"Quiet bitch." Mike said into her ear
"No! I'm not leaving you!" Jay yelled
"You have to."
"I can't! I love you!"
Nya looked at Jay sadly
"I love you too Jay. I promise, this will not be the last time you see me."
Mike held her tighter
"I said don't move!"
That was the last thing Nya heard before she went unconscious
"We need to get her back." Kai said to everyone after they had all met in Harumi's office
"How? We have no idea where he took her!" Skylor exclaimed
"We can send out a search team. It's only been 30 minutes. He couldn't have gotten far." Lloyd said
Harumi made a quick phone call
"I just called my SOGs and the police. They are going to search for her."
That seemed to ease everyone a little bit
Well, everyone except for Jay
"What if they don't find her?" He said
Cole put an arm around his shoulder
"They will."
"Ok, but what if by the time they do, she's dead?"
"Jay, try to think positive." Skylor said
Suddenly, Harumi left and came back with her combat uniform on
"I'm going to search for her. Lloyd, you're in charge."
When Nya awoke, she had a bruise on her face and she was handcuffed with vengestone
Nya tried to break them off, but to no avail
Suddenly, Mike walked into her holding area
"Well well, look who's here." He said with a smirk on his face
"Let me go!" Nya screamed at him
"Not happening." Mike then pushed her down onto the hard stone bed
"You and I are about to have a lot of fun before I finally get rid of you." He smirked
Nya started screaming but Mike gagged her
"First of all, nobody is here, so nobody can hear you scream for help. Second, screaming will only make death slower and more painful for you."
Nya started crying
"But if you stop now, I'll make it quick, and I'll just get it over with so pain is only for a few seconds."
Nya decided that what he said was bullshit and kept screaming
"Then I guess you have chosen." Mike said before attempting to rip Nyas shirt off of her
Nya kept screaming through the gag as Mike successfully got her shirt off and began to take her pants off
Suddenly, Harumi burst through the door and hit Mike over the head with a crowbar. With Mike knocked out, Harumi started to tend to Nya
"Nya! Are you hurt?" Harumi exclaimed
Nya grabbed her shirt and fixed her pants
"No, but let's just say he's got another lawsuit coming for him." Nya responded
Harumi grabbed Mike by the shirt so he would wake up
"Wake up, you motherfucker! Fucking tell me, why would you do something like this to a then 15-year-old! What kind of shitty perverted person are you, having sex with people without consent, much less minors! There's are words for that- and they are called rape and pedophilia. And when people like yourself do those things, the words for that are rapist and pedophile. And that's exactly what you are- a pedophile and rapist who cares about himself more than others and doesn't give a shit about consent. Well, let me tell you, you should always ask for consent, even if that person is your girlfriend or boyfriend, your wife or husband, or even a side chick."
With that, Harumi dropped him to the ground
"You only got away with this before because I was not your leader. Well, since I am now empress of Ninjago, I will see to it you go away for a long time. And if you think this is bad, wait until you see what inmates do to rapists and pedophiles. Trust me, it's not pleasant."
Mike looked up at her
"How would you know? You have never been to jail for something like that."
Harumi gripped his shirt tighter
"Your right, I haven't. But I know people who have, and they tell me every day what happened to them while in prison."
With that, Harumi handed him over to the nearby cops, who took him down to the station
"Make sure he gets what he deserves this time." Harumi told the cops
"We will, Ms. Carter."
Harumi nodded
Then, Harumi turned to Nya
"Let's get out of here." Harumi said to Nya
"Good idea."
Back at the palace, Jay was still panicking as Nya hadn't returned yet, and Lloyd had started to worry
Suddenly, Harumi walked in with Nya leaning on her shoulder for support
"Nya!"
Jay jumped up from his seat and hugged Nya
"Jay, you're crushing me." Nya said as she tried to breathe normally
Jay immediately stopped
"Sorry honey."
"It's ok." Nya smiled as she kissed him
Harumi walked over to Lloyd
"I can see you got her back." Lloyd made a gesture to Nya
"Yeah, and Mike got arrested again."
"For the same things as before?"
"No, it was slightly different. Last time was battery and sexual assault, and now it's attempted rape." Harumi went on
"I see."
Suddenly, Crystal jumped into her dad's arms
"Daddy, can you read me a story?"
Lloyd smiled at Crystal
"Sure. Go pick out a book and I'll be there in a minute."
"Ok!" Crystal ran off to her room
"Hey, does anyone know where Skylor is?" Jay asked
"She went to the bathroom about 10 minutes ago. She should be back soon." Kai responded
"How is Skylor?" Harumi asked Kai
"She's fine. She has been throwing up in the mornings a lot, been getting more cramps than usual, and shes mentioned how her breasts are more tender. She also missed her period for the last 2 months, which is weird." Kai went on
Morning sickness? Breast changes? Missed periods and cramps? As Harumi thought, the only word that could cross her mind was
Pregnant.
No, Skylor couldn't be pregnant. She and Kai were always so careful to prevent this from happening. Kai and Skylor hadn't even finished college yet, with Skylor being 19 and Kai being 19 almost 20. Skylor was technically still a teenager, and so was Kai
Then again, during the Christmas of 2019, Skylor was bragging about how she and Kai are sexually active and have sex on the regular
Suddenly, Harumi heard the door to the bathroom open, and there was Skylor, holding a stick
She had obviously been crying
Skylor went and sat down next to Kai and looked at everyone
"I'm pregnant."
Well well well, that was a hell of a plot twist

I have decided to start making my chapters shorter and updating more frequently. I have decided that lengthy chapters and boring fanfictions don't mix. From now on, I will be making chapters shorter and more action-packed, like this one
