A camera blared to life, opening up to a familiar dock. Too familiar… Sun shined, reflecting off the wood, and to a trained nose, the smell of varnish was in the air. Sun reflected off, refracting in various directions, including backward to where three wooden cabins stood, also done them. Behind them, trees towered to heights behind the cabins, casting a cooling shade. Crystal-clear water rippled, as one seagull from a crowd of three landed on it under the dock. A light breeze carried the other two seagulls across the skies, one stopping on a parasol on the sandy beach. Another landed on the dock, before being shooed away by a recognisable host.

Panning up, the ever-so-charming Chris McClean smiled at the camera. While having greyed a small bit, he hadn't changed much otherwise. Sporting a spiffy new periwinkle polo shirt, and some grey jeans, the host was still the same, at least one could fear seeing the glint in his eyes as the camera focused. His confidence, however, was as strong as ever.

"Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to Wawanawka!" Chris boomed, with a devilish smirk.

"After a long, and personally unnecessary, hiatus we are back with a bang. We have decided to bring back twenty-four contestants for a season they are not yet aware the theme of, all just hoping to win one million dollars! But between you and me, get ready to see the smarts, strength and sexiness of our legends. Welcome to Total… Drama… Brains, Brawns and Beauty!"

The camera opens up to a familiar site of the island. Rushing through the dock, and foliage it stops at a random clearing where DJ could be seen

Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine.

He's shown meditating with a flock of birds resting on him, and squirrels and other creatures surrounding him. Feeling a disturbance, he opened his eyes to see a mutant flying fish latched onto his nose, causing him to scream and run out of frame. Scarlett witnessing this, made a note in a journal of hers before the camera zoomed away.

You guys are on my mind,

The camera fell onto a lake in the middle of the island. Paddling on a boat, Dakota and Sam are seen chatting towards each other. A dark shadow appeared underneath their boat, and a tentacle emerged from the water, sending the two lovers flying off in a bout of screams.

You asked me what I wanted to be, and now I think the answer is clear to see,

The camera continued on its journey to the beach where a little gym area could be seen. Jo was seen doing pull-ups on some monkey bars, while Eva was squatting with barbels. Every now and then, Eva could be seen attempting to make some conversation with Jo, but Jo simply ignored her. Noah, witnessing this interaction face-palmed, clearly seeing wireless earphones in the jockette's ears.

I wanna be famous.

The next scene shown was inside the mess hall. Heather was cooking up some sort of dish, and took a spoonful and tried it. Immediately overwhelmed by the taste, she spat it all out onto an unfortunate LeShawna who just walked in through the doors. Heather looked at her, mouth opened as LeShawna glared her down, doing a quick 180.

I wanna live close to the sun,

LeShawna started walking towards the restrooms, past the three cabins, as the camera took a pitstop inside one of them. Duncan was shown carving something on the wall of the cabin, while Rodney was asleep in his bed. Rodney fell out of the bed, startling Duncan who threw his knife an inch away from his face. Rodney simply reached out and held the knife as if it was the hand of some girl. Duncan sighed, as the camera went back out through the window, catching a glimpse of his carving. A heart with the initials D + C.

Well pack your bags, cause I've already won,

The camera next came to some sort of building setup for a game show. On the stage, Sky and Lightning were each doing tricks, Sky jumped into the splits, while Lightning fell into a death drop. Lindsey, who was watching from the judging stand, clapped her hands excitedly and held up a sign that read '10'.

Everything to prove, nothing in my way,

The next area shown was just behind the stadium where trees towered above another circular arena. This had two pedestals with Courtney battling Topher on the other, whacking at each other with foam sticks. Jasmine and Shawn watched from the tree nearby, laughing at Topher as he got knocked off and clutched at his face in mercy.

I'll get there one day,

Zooming back down, through a hole in that circular area, was a cave system where the next few contestants could be found. Cameron was hanging onto B, petrified as B used BEV to light up the cave system. The two boys found a crystal mine filled with crystals and were about to cheer with joy until they realised they were synthetic. Sugar on the other hand darted past them and tried plucking them out causing the cave system to shake and the boys to look at each with fear.

Cause I wanna be famous,

The final area shown was inside the mess hall. Anne Maria sat between Justin and Alejandro, both of whom were competing with each other for her approval. The woman gushed at both of their flirts before she noticed the time and sprayed her hairspray all over the table, causing the two boys to burst into a coughing fit. Anne Maria, now unimpressed, rolled her eyes and walked away leaving the two to splutter away.

As the harmonies played, all the contestants could be seen doing a variety of tricks and competing in different ways. Lindsey gave a model walk down the runway, LeShawna danced away, Scarlet buzzed to answer a question, B was seen tweaking at some sort of go-kart, Jo was seen throwing a javelin and Rodney was shown lifting rocks for Heather to examine the underneath of. The day shifted to night as the twenty-four campers all whistled along as Chris and Chef did a tap routine by the campfire.

"As you can tell, the island has been done up a bit," Chris stated, albeit with a bit of a scowl on his face. "After resurfacing it, it was deemed 'too wet' to possibly house people so we had to get a whole team involved to do it up."

Chris frowned, before glancing up at the camera and flashing a huge grin. "But all that means is more diverse wildlife… You see, while the team was draining the island, they came across some familiar faces. Scuba-bear, Fang, Larry! They tried to shut down the island but with our claim for biodiversity, whatever that means, we won."

"This season, we will be putting up some fan favourites from our older seasons to be some ridiculous feats, and speaking of which, let's welcome our first batch of competitors. We didn't exactly have the budget for a boat each with the whole island draining deal, so instead, we've just separated the contestants and made them go six in each boat, kapeesh?"

A raven woman stepped off the boat, first off, her eyes narrowing as her vision focused on the host. Her long legs made their way across, jabbing him in the chest with her pointed finger.

"McClean I have no clue how you managed to twist me back onto this show, but I am not impressed. That contract should have expired years ago!" The woman yelled, causing Chris to flinch back and raise his hand in surrender.

"Hey now Heather, if I remember correctly, you were the one who jumped aboard on this plan and was raising hell about becoming a millionaire."

She stared into the host's beady eyes, stone-cold. She huffed and flicked her hair back, whacking his face and made her way to the opposite end of the dock.

Heather sighed, looking into the confessional. "It still hasn't been long enough since this crummy old thing… I should have been a millionaire til that feral freak cost me my money on World Tour, and on All-Stars-"

Chris interjected, banging the door open and glaring at the former Queen Bee. "We. Don't. Talk. About. All-Stars!" He roared at her, causing her to surrender, flipping the roles from before.

A certain CIT followed up next, having a similar reaction to her former teammate. Courtney gave Chris a cole shoulder making her way across the dock and situating herself away from Heather. Her unimpressed gaze never faltered, as she waited with her arms crossed.

Chris raised her eyebrow at her, looking towards Heather who seemed equally as confused. Once Heather noticed him looking at him however, she huffed again, turning away.

"What's with all the animosity ladies?" A voice boomed as another woman made her way off the boat. She had a cheeky grin, placing her hand on her hip and looking at the few people that were on the stage.

"LeShawna, welcome back," Chris exclaimed, finally glad to not have to deal with people who hated his guts.

"Drop it, McClean." She clapped back immediately, flipping him off causing Heather to let out a laugh, smiling for the first time since she had exited the boat. Courtney remained as stoic as before as LeShawna placed herself between the two.

Courtney stared right into the confessional. "Law school is expensive. That's the only reason I'm here, and nothing will stop me from winning the cash this time round. I'm playing this game to win, and will crush anyone who gets in my way."

Leshawna gave a much more friendly smile into the confessional's camera. "You know, it's nice being back on this island after way too long. Thank the gods I was not cast on that mess that was All-Stars bu-"

Chirs once again banged through the door, frightening the sista-with-a-tude. "WE DON'T TALK ABOUT ALL-STARS."

"Okay shit!" LeShawna replied, surrendering like her rival from before.

A shorter, Indian man was the next contestant to step off the boat.

"McClean." He simply acknowledged, making his way across joining the others. LeShawna and Heather, held a same puzzled glance with Chris, while Courtney herself smiled softly seeing the schemer.

Courtney tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, as she spoke to the camera. "Now, they've got the all-stars right this time. This is some serious competition. I'm grateful to know all these people thus far, but they're are only four of us so far. The contract we signed was for twenty-six episodes, which just worries me about how large the cast will be."

Noah looked deadpan into the camera, before smiling slowly. "There's not much point in playing up this schemer character anymore," he confessed. "You guys already know who I am from the Ridonculous Race, and I know I have a lot of fans and a girlfriend back home. You know what I am missing though? A cash prize and I'm going to need it to plan a wedding."

"Hi everyone." A friendly voice chirped out as a blonde stepped out from the point. The blonde in question was none other than Lindsey, as Leshawna beamed at her, Heather looked surprised and the two others seemed uninterested.

Lindsey made her way towards the other campers, blatantly ignoring Chris, and embracing LeShawna.

"Girl I did not know you got wrapped into this too," LeShawna exclaimed, arms around the skinny beauty.

"I had nothing better to do." Lindsey gigged in return. "And I know the difference between push and pull now."

Courtney laughed as she reentered the confessional. "Guess I was wrong about strong competition."

Leshawna's grin couldn't be challenged as she was back in the confessional. "I am so happy to see my good Judy Lindsey back. After World Tour, the two of us, DJ, Harold and Bridgette stayed tight. Now I know what the fans want to know and no, me and Harold are not together but Bridgette and Geoff still are."

Heather sighed, "Listen, we have all seen Island. I know I've been a bitch to Lindsey before, and LeShawna too, but I am glad to be back with them. Believe it or not, I'm not exactly friends with anyone from the original cast, and that's one of the things I set out to do when I agreed to come back.

A gruff voice was heard, as stomps whacked off the boat and onto the dock. Fit in workout clothes, and a unibrow, an angry woman was seen glaring into her competitors, eyes landing on a certain Noah and softening in response, marching towards him.

"Do I get ANY acknowledgement this season?" Chris cried out, unimpressed with his original cast as LeShawna and Lindsey chatted among themselves, Courtney and Heather looked uninterested and Noah hit up the newcomer.

"If it isn't the brawn of our old trilogy," Noah said, giving the woman a small smile.

"No more Izzy, or E-Scope to boss us around… at least not on that boat," Eva said, seemingly more mellow than she once was.

"You know she would have sniffed us out if she was there." Noah quipped back, causing the burly woman to laugh, shocking a few of the others. Heather once again glared at Chris once they locked eyes.

Eva smiled, relaxing back into the confessional. "It's been ages since I've been in here, and on this show at all as a matter of fact. I've been on fewer episodes than Ezekiel… that's just not right. It's time for me to be back on TV, and don't worry. I took anger management classes, and, turns out, I did actually need them. I'm a lot calmer, but not yet ready for the bullshit that'll have to be dealt with this time around."

Noah grinned. "Eva being back is great; She's one of the good friends I made, thanks to Izzy and I know she'll have my back and I'm letting all of you know that I have hers."

The first boat zoomed away, leading its way nicely for a second one to follow shortly after. A devilishly smirked man stepped out, causing Courtney's eyes to widen, swiftly followed by her face contorting into a grimace.

Before the delinquent had time to even adjust himself, another original cast member followed him out. Well, if you could call him that.

"Ay Chris, you couldn't have given me a break this time around." A smoky Latin voice spoke, standing next to the host in question.

"Absolutely not Alejandro!" Chris exclaimed, almost laughing at the question from the Spaniard. "I'll spell it out for you. You bring drama, drama brings viewers. Easy as one, two, three."

"Looks like you'll just have to deal with us, right Al," Duncan clapped back, smirking at the ticked-off Alejandro. Alejandro scoffed, and made his way to the rest of the campers, in particular Heather whose face was doing contortions just as Courtney had done moments before.

Duncan, pleased with the interaction, followed him and made sure to position himself away from his former fling and chose to strike up a conversation with Noah and Eva instead, which went as well as you'd expect.

"Nu-uh! I'm not swooning over Ale-jerk-dro at all this season!" Lindsey exclaimed in the confessional, with a nodding LeShawna next to her.

"He screwed me over in my last season," LeShawna added. "He's gotta pay for that!"

"Mi amors, it's good to be back. I've made it far both times I've been here before and I am confident I can keep it up and go for some cash this time." Alejandro said, giving a devilish wink to the camera.

"Listen, I've left a lot of shit in the past," Duncan stated, jabbing at the confessional. "Fuck what people think about me being soft or what-not. I'm here for money 'cause that bail… that was pricey." He paused before laughing and continuing. "It was so worth it though."

In a surprising twist of events, another duel confession took place, but between Heather and… Noah?

"Why are we together?" The queen bee asked the boy, puzzled once again this season.

"Well I'm here because I have it out for Alejandro; Duncan too. They cost me World Tour."

"I guess I'm the same. On.." Heather paused, before continuing carefully. "My most recent season, Alejandro was the direct cause for my elimination. Screw that handsome bastard."

Noah blanked, staring at the girl. "Most recent season… Do you mean All-Stars?"

Heather's eyes grew in fear as the door barged open, causing the two in the confessional to jump. Chris slammed a note on the wall of the confessional saying… well you could probably guess.

"Argh! Damnit, Noah! DAMN YOU MCCLEAN!"

Courtney looked at the note, before shaking herself back to her senses and looking back at the camera. "I haven't exactly stayed close with anyone from either season. Bridgette was an amazing friend, but… we drifted. With law school, this show just became a thing of the past." She sighed. "I guess I was a bit of a bitch before… It wouldn't hurt to try to reconnect with the others. But Duncan… I don't know how I can deal with that."

Chris glanced at his watch and shook his head. "Man, you island folk sure have a lot to say about each other." He slowly grinned, glancing around at the cast. "Let's keep it that way."

As if on cue, another handsome man stepped out of the boat, although by the eyes of many, they were far less impressed than they were the first time around. The Hawaiian was disappointed by the lack of a reaction, as he shuffled his way to the dock.

Contrasting his entrance, as the next contestant poked his head out and made his way across the dock, the Island contestant burst into cheers.

"Hell yeah!" LeShawna boomed, beckoning the tall figure towards her. Duncan flashed a genuine smile, as did Courtney and Heather as he made his way across the dock.

'

"A little team Victory reunion. Let's hope we aren't knocked out immediately again." DJ joked, hugging Lindsey and high-fiving Duncan.

DJ, looking timid, stretched back into the confessional. "No way was I ever going back to this show. But LeShawna wanted to come back and not on her own and made me sign up." He spoke, moving his hands into a cross. "But if I even so much as cause a bee to sting me, I am quitting, period. I'm not hurting any animals this time round."

Justin was silently seething, as he glared at the confessional. "I hate this show. It cost me my looks, my fans, my reputation." He burst into laughter all of a sudden. "Fuck they even tried to replace with that Alejandro on the next season after my run. This time I'll show them that I am not a second-rate villain, Courtney. She and that eel will taste the wrath of Justin."

A woman emerged from the boat next, dressed in a grey hoodie, and with a gruff look on her face. Noticing her, Heather scowled, remembering how unpleasant she was and the woman in question, Jo, had the same to say about the raven.

"McClean." Jo scoffed, making her way to the dock, feeling a small bit out of place with the Island contestants.

"Beats just being ignored." Chris scoffed, catching the eye of Justin seemingly taunting him.

"Sha-Lightning!" A voice yelled out, jumping from out the boat next, falling to his knees and striking a pose. The voice alone was able to make Jo's eyes roll to the back of his head, as Lightning made his way to the others, flexing as he did.

"The win should have been mine," Jo stated, unwavering. "But one stupid jock and nerd combo and a haggled daddy's girl cost me. I don't know how I'm going to deal with those two back. At least there's no Cameron."

Eva smiled, looking at the camera. "That Jo, there's something about her which makes me want to know her."

"Lightning is an easy ally," Noah stated blatantly. "He's so stupid, I could get him chasing his tail for his tail as a reward."

"Lightning is all about the competition." The jock said, in a voice somewhere between arrogance and confidence. "And Total Drama is the competition."

Similarly to the last, the boat zipped away, quickly replaced by the boat. Chris surveyed the contestants again as the boat docked itself. A clear group of friends had reunited, as LeShawna, DJ and Lindsey stuck together, seemingly talking about anything and everything. Noah and Eva were the same, however, it was a little more obvious some strategy was involved in their conversation. Eva seemed to try incorporating Jo into their conversation, but her attempts were shot down as Jo was not in the mood to deal with, what she recognised as a dumb-jock and nerd combo. Noah on the other hand was incorporating Lightning to a little more success, but the Revenge camper was a little too wrapped in his own head to properly discuss with the schemer.

Alejandro was relentless with his flirting, grinding the gears of Heather. She attempted everything to avoid the man, placing Justin and Courtney as roadblocks, both of whom were enraged and unimpressed.

Duncan was also trying to talk to Heather, who did want to try better her relationship with one of the other winners, but avoiding Alejandro was her priority. Chris was ecstatic. He knew his choices for the cast were done well, as he had to put his producer hat on for this return.

He looked towards the boat and jumped in shock seeing a camper already off it, and a second one following. This drew the attention of all the old campers, and the sight of one left Jo ready to jump off the dock.

"Chris by now you should know." The shorter of the two boys said. "B doesn't speak."

"Thank you, Cameron…" Chris replied, miffed.

"Actually Chris. My name is BEV, B's electron voice." A masked female voice spoke from B's wrist, raising surprise in the other boy. "He appreciates it though Cameron."

B smiled and shot finger guns towards the camera. "After B's season, and not being able to defend himself from Scott, I was created in order to stop an incident like that from reoccurring."

"Well that was embarrassing," Cameron confessed, looking toward the confessional. "I don't know why I agreed to come back, but they're are definitely some more experiences I definitely need to have before heading out to the real world." As if on cue, a spider slowly descended next to Cameron, and upon noticing the boy screamed in fear and darted out.

Jo crossed her arms. "I spoke a little too soon before a certain string bean made it back. He may have outsmarted me before but this time I won't have that happen again.

Two figures emerged from the boat together next, holding hands. The female towered over the male, and while now human, still retained features of her former form, such as a slight tan and a few extra inches on to her height. She even had a strike of green running through her luscious locks. The guy looked longingly at her, before smiling at the rest of the cast.

"Hi everyone," The blonde said smiling, waving at the campers. Some relaxed seeing the nice face and the boy next to her gushed.

"Dakota, you're so awesome," Sam said to her, causing the girl to burst into giggles, as they walked over to the rest of the campers. Approaching them, they separated, as Dakota immediately hit off with Lindsey whereas Sam found himself talking to Cameron and B.

Another woman walked out with a confident strut, dousing herself with her hairspray.

"Chris! You owe me!" She yelled out, walking pointedly towards and jabbing him with her freshly manicured nail. Jo ground her teeth hearing the voice, while Cameron looked appreciatively at the woman.

"Hey, Anne Maria! It's not my fault you quit." Chris defended himself, with an evil smirk present.

Anne Maria glared at him, shooting him with a wallop of hairspray before sauntering off to the others. She smiled seeing Cameron, wrapping her hands around him.

"Hey doll," She said, causing the shorter boy to smile back.

"Daddy was able to fix me and that other boy to normal," Dakota stated, with Sam next to her in the confessional. "It pays to have money to be able to sue the show."

"Even though Dakota-zoid is no longer real, I still love her," Sam added, causing Dakota to look into his eyes. They both fell onto each other, lips locking as the confessional cuts to static.

Anne Maria filed away at her nails and spoke towards the confessional with some sort of edge to her voice. "I can't say I'm happy to be back, ya dig? I lost out on a million bucks because of a feral freak-bag out-smarting me. Me!?"

Lightning looked into the camera, smiling as he did. "Now Lightning knows it did not seem like it, but Anne Maria. She's a sister. Us, we all stick together. Although she can be a bit crazy, even for Lightning…"

DJ, from next to him, laughed in response. "I know exactly what you mean. LeShawna is the exact same. Man when I was dragging her and Lindsey around on that sledge in Yukon. Those two are a lot more similar now that you think about it."

"That's the last of the Revenge contestants, everyone," Chris announced, causing some mixed reactions from the others. On one hand, the likes of Jo and Courtney were glad not to have Scott around this time. While Jo found the farmer annoying, Courtney didn't want to have another situationship looming around. Duncan, Alejandro and Justin were bad enough, even though with the latter two, she was led on and led on respectively. Isn't irony bittersweet?

B on the other hand showed visual disappointment in not having his good friend Dawn around. While BEV was going to be a great help towards him this time around, Dawn simply understood him. Chris rubbed his hands maniacally, a glimpse of his sadistic side coming out after being repressed for so long.

"Chris, can I ask what you're doing," a feminine voice asked, causing the host to jump out of his skin.

"What is with you guys not making yourself present!" Chris spoke, shell-shocked, as the girl shrugged.

"Chris, I actually couldn't care less," the olympian in training spoke, walking away to join the other campers.

"I can't help but feel a little out of my element here. These Revenge contestants were given a chance to interact with the island contestants throughout their season, and some even had a chance to compete with them." Sky confessed, rubbing her arm anxiously. She let out a sigh, relieving her stress slightly. "Still, I've dealt with bad odds before, and I'm sure this time won't be any different."

As the three had done before the boat left for the last one to take its place. Duncan looked around at his competition and he felt a tinge of worry. There were some heavy hitters this time round, and competing with the likes of them, he knew he'd have to be careful.

"There definitely will be a target on my back," Duncan said, surprisingly with a drop of arrogance. "I mean, I'm the winner of Total Drama Action, and I have made the merge each and every time I've competed. Course, this time round there are also three other winners, Heather, Lightning and Shawn. Well, I'm assuming Shawn 'cause there ain't no way one of those other lame asses are coming back and he's not."

As the cast started exiting the last boat, more eyes were on them than the others. Noah thought to himself who'd they'd bring back from Pahkitew, because other than Jasmine, Sky and, to some extent, Shawn, the rest of the cast was rather lacklustre. His experience with Leonard was enough to show it from the Ridonculous Race.

"I may have watched every season after I agreed to return and before I arrived," Noah confessed. "It's different when over half your competitors are people you have never even met before."

A tall girl exited the boat first, hyperventilating as she did. A worried boy immediately rushed out after her, consoling the girl as she breathed in the fresh oxygen that she didn't have on the boat.

"Too cramped, McClean!" The girl gasped out. "It's lucky Shawn was here or else I would have thrown myself off the edge and back down under."

"Jasmine, you know those waters could have been infested," Shawn replied, shivering from just the thought. Sky looked at her fellow top four members, and smiled glad to have them back on the show at least.

"This confessional is even smaller!" Jasmine cried out, able to hit the ceiling of it from her seated position. As she started taking deep breaths in and out again, Shawn looked towards the confessional and smiled.

"After we just won the prize money we created a cage fighting, zombie hideaway, flower shop. It still needs some more work, I may have stocked a little too much canned tuna."

"A little too much…? Our grandbabies will have enough tuna for the rest of their lives." Jasmine quipped, back before realising what she said. The two of them turned ruby red with blush and the mere thought of them having children.

"All right y'all, Sugar is back in the building." A girl's voice sang out, causing all three of the Pahkitew members to freeze in fear, as well as the few of the contestants who had watched the season such as Courtney, Noah and Cameron.

"If you sing one more time, I will slit your throat," A boy's voice followed, making Chris roll his eyes.

"Topher, I hope you made you read your contract this time. One attempt of trying to replace me and you're off the show faster than Sugar after her performance." Chris said to the boy, causing Sugar to yell out.

"Hey! Craptry is an underrated music medium and I shoulda been kept for it." She defended herself, glaring at him. "Y'all just don't know what music sounds like."

"We do. And that was bad," Shawn said, causing a desperate nod from his fellow finalist.

"It saved my ass though," Sky said, causing the country girl to smile.

"Awh why shucks, thanks honey," Sugar gushed, making her way to the campers, causing Heather to look at her in utter confusion once again.

"I do, old man," Topher answered Chris, taunting him.

"I got a few brand deals after the season. But nowhere near enough for me to start hosting my own show," Topher said, fixing his hair in the confessional. "I need to make sure I show even more of my personality, and I need to make it far for that."

Justin looked at the camera with his eyebrow raised. "This Topher spells out trouble. I need him on my side."

Sugar looked at the camera, rage flashing through her blue eyes. "Now I was the sweetest and most deserving camper for that cash prize. Ma and Pa agreed! This time, I'm going all out, no bars held back."

A big frame walked out next, with hearts in his eyes already from the sight of a few of the ladies. He stammered, stuttering through his words, not even introducing himself.

"Don't worry y'all, I got this," Sugar announced, walking towards the boy and preparing her voice to sing. Instead, a belch came out of her vocal cords, which was just as effective as knocking Rodney back to his senses.

"Ugh.." He groaned, walking past the girl and joining the rest of the campers. While he stayed relatively silent, Duncan looked at him and sighed.

"This dude.." Duncan said, back in the confessional. "He reminds me of how DJ was. A lovable brute with a glaring weakness. I wanna try to help Rodney at least be able to talk to a girl straight while he's here."

Cameron ran the numbers through his head. There had been six contestants per boat, and twenty-three of them were on the dock already, and they were missing one girl. He looked towards the boat, nervous about who the last contestant was. The final four from that season couldn't help but also wonder, as Sugar prayed it wasn't Ella, leaving only the cheerleading twins and Scarlett, who she was sure wouldn't be back.

It was clear Sugar wasn't the brightest of the bunch, as the red-haired woman stepped off the boat, adjusting her glasses. She examined her competitors, noting the horrified faces of Sky, Shawn, Jasmine, Cameron, Noah and Courtney. She nodded to Chris, making her way towards the others as the ones familiar with her leapt back in fear.

"SCARLET?" Shawn yelled in anxiety, traumatised from their near-deaths back on the old mechanical island.

"Chris, you're sadistic but even you have to have limits," Sky added, the colour drained from her face.

"Scarlett brought the drama we missed after Dave's elimination," Chris started, causing Sky to wince at the mention of his name.

"Besides, now I won't have to deal with blubbering mock of a human, the rest of you incels won't have a manic episode from me," Scarlett finished. Even the description of Max made her blood boil.

Rodney sighed longingly. "There's something about Scarlett. She's so poised, and eloquent. I wonder if she'd appreciate a poem from the depths of my heart."

"That purple-haired freak has cost me already," Scarlett muttered, letting her hair down, as it returned to her villain state. "Without him, I'll keep my guards up a little higher, and make it to the end of this without any trouble," She finished, tying her red locks back into a bun.

"And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the twenty-four competitors on this season of Total Drama," Chris cheered out, causing a few of the more excited competitors to clap in response. Focusing back on the camera, he smiled and continued. "As you can tell, these contestants know the ins and outs of how this works, and have used the confessional plentifully. But as we make our way to the mess hall, we will see how these competitors shape up as they get divided up into their teams. If you would walk this way with me," He ended, as the campers followed him to the central building with two cabins on either side.

Jasmine whispered to Shawn as they walked along. "What'd ya think the teams will be,"

"Hopefully one where we're together," Shawn quipped back, as the two shared a kiss and walked together hand in hand.

"Maybe it'll be guys against girls," Lightning said separately to them, nudging Jo. "That way we can team up and dominate the others."

"He's still Brightening." Jo sighed, rolling her eyes.

"And here we are!" Chris presented, showing a new mess hall with three rows of benches running across the middle. One was painted a cool mustard, the middle was a dusty maroon whereas the last one was a soft blue. Chef Hatchet could be seen from behind in his kitchen area, which also looked done up as he winked at the contestant causing a few to smile softly.

"Man, am I glad to see Chef back," DJ said, a smile plastered on his face. "He's been a great hand in these old seasons, but this time I won't have to rely on him at all."

"That's right campers. This season we will have three teams, inspired by the theme of the season. It's time to put your brains, brawns and beauty to the test in a new season of the game."

Upon hearing the teams, a few of the contestants looked excited while others looked worried. Justin grinned, knowing he'd have the chance to crush Alejandro whereas Sky, Lightning and Jo felt glad to not have any dead-weights on their teams. LeShawna felt conflicted, unsure of whether she'd be a part of the beauty team or the brawns team. Heather felt a tad bit of joy, thinking she'd have a chance to reconcile with Lindsey on the beauty team.

Sam and Dakota were visibly distressed though, as were Noah and Eva. Their partnerships were about to be crushed very quickly, as they all knew there was no chance in hell they'd manage to be on the same team.

"Let's start assigning the teams," Chris announced, as three logos appeared behind him. A picture of a butterfly in a yellow tone, a bison in a red shade and, finally a bat in a blue colour.

"Knocking out the obvious, we have Lindsey, Justin, Anne Maria, Dakota, Sugar and Topher on the Beautiful Butterflies."

A couple of eyebrows raised, noting that there were only six contestants called as they made their way over to the bench. Lindsey made sure to distance herself from Justin, as the boy did the same to the girl, as she sat next to Dakota on one end. Justin sandwiched himself between Dakota and Anne Maria, who was on the other corner of that end of the bench. On the opposite side, Sugar sat down across from Anne Maria, chuffed to finally be recognised for her looks while Topher stayed clear from the country girl sitting across from Lindsey.

"On the Brawny Bisons, we have Jasmine, Sky, Jo, Lightning, DJ, Eva and Rodney."

"Chris, I feel like you're mis-"

"Hush Courtney," The host snapped back as the strongest contestants headed towards their bench. Sky and Jasmine, sat next to each other while Rodney sat across from them, looking at them longingly. Jo sat down next, prompting Eva to finish the gap in the woman's side of the bench. Lightning and DJ sat across from Jo and Eva respectively.

"And last but not least, on the Brainy Bats, we have Noah, B, Sam, Cameron, Scarlett and Shawn," Chris announced, causing the brainiacs to sit down. Scarlett and Shawn sat on opposite corners of the table, with the other guys on the team filling up the empty spaces. Notably, Cameron and B were next to each other, with Sam finishing the side with Shawn and Noah placing himself with a plentiful gap between him and Scarlett.

Five contestants were left standing and were all equally confused. LeShawna glanced at Heather, who looked back at her with a smile. The sister narrowed her eyes, looking away.

"That Heather is up to something." LeShawna accused. "You already know she cannot be trusted."

"Chris, what are we left here for," Alejandro asked, not opposed to having an excuse to stand next to Heather, enjoying her irritation.

"Well, my dear Alejandro. You five are a unique case. There's at least two teams you could all place on. Whether for your strategic smarts," Chris started, looking between the five, "Your brute strength," he continued, glancing at all but Heather, "Or your gorgeous looks," he added, making eye contact with all of them but Duncan this time. "You guys are unique cases. And for unique cases, we pump up the drama."

"So Duncan, you are the eighth member of the Bisons. Leshawna and Alejandro, you may join the Butterflies leaving Courtney and Heather for the Bats." He finished, sending the original campers to their teams.

LeShawna was glad to be with Lindsey as was Duncan to DJ, however, the other three had reservations about the teams they were placed on.

"I know I'm smart. But Scarlett and Heather on one team." Courtney cried out, exasperated. "I'm going to look like an angel next to them."

"For once, my looks might be contested," Alejandro stated, before laughing. "Ay caramba, of course I jest. Dakota and Anne Maria are the perfect pawns to my strategy this time around."

Chris smiled, as he faced away from the campers to the camera. "And that folks, is the cast for this brand new season. The drama unfolds, alliances have been made and broken just by a team placement, and the storylines are being made apparent. What will present itself as the campers face their first challenge and first elimination, and who will prove to be the most versatile of them all… Find out on Total! Drama! Battle of the Bs!"

Hello everyone and thank you for reading the first chapter of my new fic. It's been a long while since I have been active in this fandom, possibly since 2017 and a lot has changed, but I'm ready to try and complete a fic. A big problem I dealt with was motivation, and not having a precise way of writing, but with Google Docs and a challenge to myself to write 1,000 words daily, I am determined to get through this. Even from this first chapter, I have fallen in love with all these characters again, and can't wait to explore them today.

I will apologise for the sheer amount of confessionals in this first chapter. It won't be like this in the future, and there'll be a lot more actual dialogue. I just wanted to introduce everyone, and show off their storylines somewhat. A big deal with the cast here is the idea of redemption, whether it be their character, past performance or relationships. I want to write a competition fic, but explore these characters in a variety of ways and a few of the arcs I have for characters excite me already.

Something I have always struggled with is my descriptive writing, so that's one thing I want to improve on throughout this fic as well as showcasing my favourite aspect of writing, the characters. I'll leave it at that for now, but I want to hear any and all sorts of advice and support so please don't be afraid to leave a review or DM me as necessary.

That's all for now though folks and I'll see you all for the second part of this chapter.
