PROLOGUE

KATSUKI

"Hah, another exhausting day", I mutter to myself, irritated. I am so tired, but I gotta train to become the number 1 hero. My lifetime goal, that I have had since I was 6, after watching All Might. But reaching it doesn't seem too likely right now…

An obnoxiously loud and cheerful voice breaks my train of thought. Ugh, really? I can't deal with him right now. Just brush him off…

"Hey, Kacchan! Are you okay?" The smiley face of Deku pops into view. Seriously, this guy has the worst timing.

"Back off, Deku! I'll kill you!" Deku's face drops, his grin immediately becoming a frown and he looks down, dejected. I hurriedly stomp away, trying not to feel guilty. This guy pisses me off. He had no quirk, and I was…sorta… on my way to victory! Whatever that is. But of course, he wins the jackpot with One for All.

I thought All Might was smarter than that; what was he thinking, passing on his quirk to that nerd? He's gonna hurt himself with that, heck, he already did! How many hospital visits is it now? He needs to learn that he doesn't need to save everyone, and be more selfish. Like me…

HINA

"HINA! What is this mess?! Get your bag!" My mom yells from downstairs, her voice echoing.

"One sec, Mom! I'm tryna…" Panicked, I look around my room, things strewn messily around. "Agh, I can't find it… Where is it!? Oh no, Mizako's gonna kill me, then bury me, then dig me up again, then chop me up, then burn me, then-"

"HINA! I can see that you are NOT getting your bag like I asked you to!" Ugh, curse my mom's seeing-through-things-quirk!

"Yup, yup, coming!" I rush out of my room and run downstairs, feeling immensely guilty. Why did I have to lose that now? Where even is it!?... wait, where's my bag? Gah! I also need to get my uniform!

Aghhhhhh, I hate school!

IZUKU

Hmmm… That's why Peak Hornet's quirk is so effective! He must be using not only his quirk generated poison but also the acute angle of 15 degrees on his needle, to push it to the top, and his enemies don't see him coming…It also seems that he uses this trapping technique to frighten them, very nice, some psychological moves, don't see that too often anymore.

I wipe my brow, satisfied with today's hero analysis. "Oh, that reminds me, I gotta give Uraraka san her quirk analysis…" I mutter.

"Izuku, take a break, okay?" My mother's voice comes from the doorway.

"Oh, I must have said that out loud, sorry." I say, surprised with myself. I've been really out of it lately... My mom walks over to my chair that I am sprawled out on, and looks at the pages and pages of writing and diagrams layering my desk. Oops, I should have covered that; I don't want my mom to worry. Her face twists into a concerned expression, of course.

"I don't want you working too hard and getting hurt, Izuku." I try to brush her concerns off.

"I won't, Mom. Just… I'm a little behind my classmates, I need to figure out how to become stronger." I look at her. "To protect everybody." And be worthy of One for All.

She smiles, and wipes a tear. "I'm so proud to have a son like you, just… take care of yourself as well."

I can feel heat coming to my cheeks. I look down. "Thanks, Mom, love ya." She walks out and when I hear the door shut, I sigh. I wonder what was up with Kacchan today, he seemed… off. But I shouldn't bother him…

Hello, I'm bookhamster! This is my first fanfiction, and I am very excited to be writing it. I am new at this, so my writing may be rough, and I would appreciate any feedback or reviews; they make my day! BTW, I know that it is short, but it's just the prologue. I promise the chapters will become longer over time.

Fun fact! The origin of the title "Shoboshi" is Japanese, and it means firefighter. Since this story is Bakugo x OC, it is like fire tamer if that makes sense (?) yeah so that is the title's meaning :) Hope to see you in the next chapter!

Edit: After thinking for a while, I decided that this story is not ready to be released yet since I didn't do much planning. (I'm sorry I'm an impulsive writer but I hope to fix that habit T-T) So, I will keep this chapter up, maybe lure in a couple unsuspecting prey (lol jk) and release chapter 1 on December 22.
