Following the demise of Bison at the hands of Akuma, Ryu returns to Japan and opens a dojo with his wife. After narrowly avoiding being killed by Skarlet on Kronika's orders, Ryu teams up with old allies and new friends to stop Kronika from undoing reality.

"These days, he's settled down with Little Miss Interpol, running a martial arts school in Japan, rather than wandering the planet. With Bison dead, things should be a bit more easier, right?"
"Wrong. Enter our friendly neighborhood psychopaths from Skarlet to Shao Kahn wanting a shot at the title. Good thing he's on our side, as messing with someone who can control his dark side is a bad idea."

[Opening Introductions]
I. Meditation - Ryu iis on his knees in the seiza position. When he opens his eyes, we see the irises flash red for a moment before they go back to normal. He then rises to his feet.
II. Road Less Traveled - Ryu walks in, duffel bag slung over his shoulder. He tosses it to the side as he prepares for kombat.
III. Game Face - Ryu stands, eyes closed. Them, he opens them and prepares for battle.
IV. Battle Strip (Byron Mann only) - One of Vega's ladies-in-waiting circle Ryu before ripping his shirt off his shoulders, leaving him naked from the waist up.
[Victory Poses]
I. Gentle Wind - The iconic win pose...mixed with his SSF2 Intro. He folds his arms and bows his head, as the wind weeps past him...then he senses movement and Hadoukens the mystery attacker
II. Lonely Road - Ryu turns his back on his opponent. Fade to black. When we see Ryu again, he is walking down a stretch of road, duffel bag slung over his shoulder.
[Fatal Blow]
Shinshoryuken - The Solar Plexus Strike (F+HP/Fierce Punch) staggers the opponent before he does the Shinshoryuken proper, performing it as he does in MVC: Infinite, fighting off the Dark Hadou as he does so.
[Fatalities]
I. Kongou Kokuretsuzan - Ryu had adapted Akuma's Super Art for his own use. A throat punch makes the opponent stagger long enough for Ryu to perform the move proper, causing them to explode on impact.
II. Denjin Hadouken - A powered-up version of the Denjin Hadouken that reduces the opponent to a skeleton, the skull falling on the pile of ash (a reference to Raiden's SNES fatality from the first MK).

Test Your Might - The iconic bonus game returns! In rapid succession, Ryu smashes through blocks of wood, stone, marble, steel, ruby and diamond.

Power is a seductive mistress, an addictive thrill. I've seen the likes of villains from Thanos to Bison to Gill obsess over it. Akuma himself was consumed by it.
But that is not me. Nor is being the Keeper of Time.

Kronika thought she was getting rid of a threat before it could turn potentially lethal. She would've done better to leave me alone. Not even summoning Bison and Gill in a final gambit could stop me.

Like I said, being the Keeper of Time isn't my destiny. So I relinquished the Hourglass to Nightwolf and returned home. If I had to do it all over...I wouldn't change a thing.
