Thanks for the all the love the latest chapter got. I'm so happy you all loved the proposal.
Maynard: Thanks for your question and bringing that scene to my attention. I have answered your question in the reviews for chapter 52.
Amy kept playing with the ring on her finger. It had been a whirlwind. She had never expected him propose like that. She turned her head resting her hand on Ty's bare chest. "Did you really propose last night?"
"Where you surprised?" He asked instead a huge smile on his face.
"So surprised." She nuzzled on closer to him. "How'd you pull it off?"
"Waited until you left for Lisa's. Hung the lights and did the chores for Jack. That was the hard part. Keeping him in the house to get ready for the party. Lisa helped a lot thought little did she know. After they left I got the picnic ready and made sure I had the horses in the back field. That way if you came home early from working with Rain you wouldn't have to go into the barn. I had a time getting you to go into the house to shower thought so I could tack them up. You can be so stubborn." He poked at her.
"Well, I'm your stubborn fiance now. So no take backs."
"I would never." He said placing another long kiss on her lips.
"We really should get up. Grandpa will be in such a great mood after that party." She said sarcastically.
"Ten more minutes?" Ty asked like a kid.
Amy paused thinking for a second. "What the hell." She threw the blanket back over their heads as she climbed on top of him.
It was well past noon when the love birds finally scrolled into the kitchen. Lisa turned around at the stove at the sound of the door. They walked into the dining room to meet Jack who looked about as angry as could be. Frankly Ty had never seen him so mad. Did he know? He was beginning to have second thoughts telling him. "You better have a damn good reason for staying out all night." He shouted.
Amy let go of Ty's hand swiftly holding out her hand for Jack displaying the ring a few inches from his face. "We're getting married." Amy shrieked.
Jack's face was a mix of emotions before he smiled throwing his arms around Amy. "I'm so happy for you."
He shot Ty a look as he let go of Amy. "Congratulations." Lisa said beaming from behind them. She pulled Ty into a hug before Amy.
Jack grabbed Ty's hand firmly as he shook it. "It's about time." He whispered as he pulled him in too for a hug.
Ty had kissed Amy goodbye and left to run a few errands leaving Jack and Amy still sitting at the dining room table where they had just had lunch. Amy was still beaming the large smile on her face was enough to make Jack smile too. He couldn't remember the last time he seen her so happy. "I'm happy for you both." He said breaking the silence.
Amy looked up blushing. "Thanks." She hadn't realized she drifted into dreamland again after Ty had left.
"So marriage? That's a huge step." Jack said as he played with his coffee cup. "But I know he loves you. Hell, I seen it the first time I seen the two of you together. Both stubborn but determined to make a fresh start. I know neither of you had it the best that year. But you both made the best of the situation and grew together mending each other's broken hearts." He smiled sadly. "I know it broke your heart to see Ty leave. But I think you both needed that time apart to learn and grow on your own." He smiled reaching for her hand. "I know you two had something special and I'm just happy you managed to put your angry aside and figure that out. Congratulations, sweetheart."
Amy had tears by the time he had finished his speech. "I love him so much, grandpa. I couldn't imagine him not being a part of my life." She laughed. "I'm sorry for all the sleepless nights you got worrying about me."
"Hey, I was only worried cause you were so heartbroken without him. Heck, I was too. He got under my skin but I kinda I that after he went back to Vancouver." Jack laughing too. "The guy couldn't figure anything out. Didn't know a pitchfork from a wheelbarrow if it hit him in the head."
"You didn't know?" Amy asked curious.
"No, he never asked my permission if that's what you mean. But it's okay. I think he knew I'd be okay with it." He paused. "You know what he did get all sentimental about how much he loved you about a week ago. It was out of character but I didn't think much of it at the time. But maybe in his own way he was telling me he wanted a future with you." Jack smiled.
"Ty? Sentimental? I can hardly believe it."
"Have you told your father?" Lisa asked joining them from the kitchen after finishing the dishes.
"No, we haven't even engaged 24 hours yet. Plus Dad is camping with Shane. I have no idea how long until he gets back."
"Well, you best find a good way to break it to him." Jack said.
"I don't want to have to worry about his reaction. He said be like Ty the last we talked about my relationship." Amy said hopeful.
"Look, he loves you. He'll come around." Lisa reassured patting her hand.
"We have to tell Lou but not until we tell my dad. She can't keep a secret to save her life." Amy looked up from her magazine as she laid on her stomach across her bed.
"That's true." Ty said from his stop on the floor.
"Did you tell your mom?"
"Not exactly. She knew I was going to propose. In face she encouraged it." Ty looked guilty.
"What? Really?" Amy sat up now to face Ty.
"Yeah, she loaned me the money. Helped me realize how stupid I would be if I let you go." He smiled pulling her down to kiss him. He loved the way she smiled against his lips.
"I think I'm going to like having your mom as a mother-in-law."
"Oh, she's going to spoil you."
"I wish my mom was here." She said sadly.
"I know but in a way she is. Plus she's the one who agreed to let me do my probation here."
"But you were such a stick in the mud that you barely lasted a week." She laughed.
"I wasn't that bad."
"Oh yes you were." Amy laughed again.
Ty jumped up off the floor and tackled her. "Take it back." He demanded.
"No!" She shouted as her laughs got louder.
"They really are good together." Lisa said looking up from her book as she sat next to Jack reading the newspaper. Amy and Ty's laughs filled the house.
Jack smiled as he grabbed Lisa's hand. "Reminds me of someone else."
"Oh, who could that be?" Lisa joked before leaning over to kiss Jack.
