First Battles and Team Star
After Arven finally calmed down after seeing the multiple Koraidons and hearing where four of them came from. He stood up to look at the others.
"Mom is definitely gonna want to know about this." said Arven.
"Your mom?" replied Stan.
"His mother is Professor Sada." said Lincoln, surprising Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman.
"Wait a minute! Professor Sada is your mother?" replied Kyle.
"Yeah. I was just as surprised as you four are." said Lincoln. He noticed Kenny looking down in disappointment, now that he knows that Professor Sada is most likely married. Lincoln sees this and puts his hand on his shoulder. "I know how you feel, Kenny. But there are other women out there." Kenny smiles in resignation.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Kenny.
"So anyway; let's get back to the academy. I'm sure it's going to be time for Mr. Clavell's announcement soon." said Nemona.
"Good idea. Let's get going." said Stan. As they walked towards Mesagoza, a boy with a red sweater vest stands in front of them.
"Excuse me. But are any of you Pokemon trainers?" asked the boy.
"Yes. Why do you ask?" replied Kyle.
"Well I would like to have a Pokemon battle with you." said the boy, pointing at Kyle.
"Sure, dude." replied Kyle. He and the boy walked a few feet away from each other to make room for their Pokemon while Lincoln and the others walked to a ledge to watch the battle. The boy pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Tarountula, come out." said the boy, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Tarountula. Kyle pulls a pokeball out of his backpack and looks at it.
"Time to see how strong you are from your training." said Kyle. "Fletchling, let's go." He throws Fletchling's pokeball and releases her.
"I see you caught a Fletchling, Kyle." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, dude." replied Kyle. "Now, Fletchling, Quick Attack." Fletchling flies at Tarountula with incredible speed and rams into it, knocking it to the ground.
"Tarountula." said the boy. Tarountula gets up. "Okay, Tarountula, String Shot." Tarountula shoots a long string of silk out of its mouth, and it wraps around Fletchling, binding her.
"String Shot slows down my Fletchling." said Kyle. "But that won't save Tarountula from this. Fletchling, Ember." Fletchling releases a small ball of fire out of her mouth, and it hits Tarountula, causing super effective damage.
"Good move, Kyle. Fire type moves are strong against bug type Pokemon." said Lincoln. Tarountula staggers back and falls to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Tarountula, no." said the boy.
"Tarountula is unable to battle. Fletchling wins." said Nemona. The boy returns Tarountula to its pokeball and he walks over to Kyle.
"Good battle." said the boy.
"Thanks, dude." replied Kyle. The boy gives Kyle pokedollars and he runs off. Lincoln was curious about something.
"Hey. Why did that boy give you that money for?" asked Lincoln.
"You mean you didn't know? After a Pokemon battle between two trainers, the losing trainer has to give the winning trainer half their money." replied Stan. Lincoln's eyes widen at this new fact.
"You mean you get paid for defeating other trainers in battles?" Lincoln responded.
"Yeah, it's pretty sweet!" said Cartman.
"We should all try to find some trainers to battle. It would be good experience for us and our Pokemon." suggested Lincoln.
"Good idea." said Stan. They all spread out to look for other trainers to battle. With Stan, he was walking down the path near where Kyle battled the boy when a girl dressed in an academy uniform beckons him over.
"Excuse me. But would you like to have a Pokemon battle?" asked the girl.
"Sure. I'm looking to have a Pokemon battle." said Stan. The girl pulls out a pokeball and throws it, releasing a Lechonk. Stan pulls out a pokeball and throws it, releasing his Quaxly. "Okay, Quaxly. This is our first trainer battle. Are you up for this?" Quaxly looks at Stan and nods. "Cool. Okay, Quaxly. Use Wing Attack." Quaxly jumps at Lechonk and hits it with his wing.
"Lechonk, use Disarming Voice." said the girl. Lechonk releases a soundwave which hits Quaxly, doing some damage.
"Quaxly, hit it with Water Gun." said Stan. Quaxly releases a spray of water at Lechonk which damages it and sends it skidding across the ground and knocks it out. "That was awesome, Quaxly. We won our first trainer battle." Quaxly looks at Stan and gives him a nod. The girl returns Lechonk to it's pokeball. She walks over to Stan and the two shake hands.
"Good battle." said the girl.
"Thanks." said Stan. The girl gives Stan some pokedollars and walks away. With Kenny, he was walking down a path in the South Province when he sees a janitor who works at the academy standing at the side of it.
"Hey. Aren't you a janitor at Naranja Academy?" asked Kenny.
"Yeah. I'm on break right now. Would you like to have a battle with me? It will help pass the time." said the janitor. Kenny steps forward.
"Sure. I'll take you on." said Kenny. Stan, Kyle, and Cartman walk away from them while the janitor takes out a pokeball.
"Come out, Gulpin." said the janitor, throwing the pokeball and releasing a round, green Pokemon. Kenny takes out his Rotom Phone.
"Gulpin, the Stomach Pokemon. There is nothing its stomach can't digest. While it is digesting, vile, overpowering gases are expelled." said the Rotom Phone. Kenny takes out a pokeball.
"Come out, Wooper." said Kenny, throwing Wooper's pokeball and releasing it. "All right, Wooper, use Mud Shot." Wooper shoots a glob of mud out of his mouth, and it hits Gulpin, causing super effective damage.
"Good thing Wooper knew Mud Shot. Ground type attacks are strong against poison-types like Gulpin." said Kyle."
"Gulpin, use Pound." said the janitor. Gulpin leaps at Wooper and pounds him, making him stagger back a little.
"Wooper, finish Gulpin with one more Mud Shot." said Kenny. Wooper shoots another glob of mud at Gulpin and hits it, causing super effective damage. The Gulpin falls back and lands on the ground with swirly eyes.
"No, Gulpin!" said the janitor.
"Great job, Wooper." said Kenny. Wooper cheers in response. The janitor returns Gulpin to its pokeball and walks over to Kenny.
"Good battle, kid." said the janitor.
"Thanks." replied Kenny. The janitor gives Kenny pokedollars and walks away. With Cartman, he was walking around near Los Platos when a girl wearing an academy uniform walks up to him.
"Pardon me. But would you like to have a battle with me?" asked the girl.
"Sure. I was looking for a battle." said Cartman. The two stand apart and they each pull out a pokeball.
"Come on out, Bounsweet." said the girl as she threw her pokeball, releasing a small, magenta Pokemon with four leaves and a stem on its head, wearing a white skirt. Cartman takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Bounsweet, the Fruit Pokemon. Its sweat is sweet, like syrup made from boiled-down fruit. Because of this, Bounsweet was highly valued in the past, when sweeteners were scarce." said the Rotom Phone.
"Okay, Fuecoco. Time to battle." said Cartman as he releases Fuecoco. Fuecoco hops in anticipation for the battle. "Fuecoco, use Tackle." Fuecoco runs at Bounsweet and slams into it.
"Hurry, Bounsweet. Use Play Nice." said the girl. Bounsweet hops around in a playful manner, which prompts Fuecoco to play around also, and in the process lower his attack power.
"Fuecoco, use Ember." said Cartman. Fuecoco opens his mouth and sprays a stream of bits of fire out which hit Bounsweet, doing super-effective damage and knocking Bounsweet out. "Sweet! You did it, Fuecoco!" Fuecoco dances with joy. The girl returns her Bounsweet to its pokeball and walks over to Cartman.
"Good battle." said the girl as she hands Cartman pokedollars and walks away.
"Sweet." said Cartman. The boys wandered around for a bit before deciding to head for the Mesagoza south gate. When they got close, they saw Lincoln, Nemona, and Arven were already there and ran over to where they are.
"Hey, Lincoln. Did you find trainers to battle?" asked Stan.
"I just got done battling a trainer. I won." said Lincoln.
"Congratulations, dude. All of us each found a trainer to battle." said Kyle.
"Cool." said Lincoln. They all look at the south gate of Mesagoza.
"Well since we're here, we might as well go to the academy." said Kenny.
"Good idea." said Lincoln. They look behind them and notice the Koraidons are still following them around.
"Have they been following us this whole time?" asked Stan.
"I guess so." said Kyle.
"Do you think it's okay for them to be in the city?" asked Arven.
"They don't seem bad. Maybe it'll be okay." said Stan.
"I hope so. Let's go, everyone." said Lincoln. They all enter the city and start walking towards the academy. As they do, they notice people staring at the Koraidons.
"Why is everyone staring?" asked Cartman.
"They haven't seen these guys before. Maybe they're curious." suggested Nemona.
"Well at least no one seems to be scared." said Arven.
"That's a relief. We don't want to cause a panic." said Stan.
"Totally." said Cartman.
"Well, let's just keep going to the academy." said Kyle. They soon start climbing up some stairs and suddenly saw Penny talking to two academy students who were wearing motorcycle helmets with goggles that have star-shaped lenses on them.
"Oh, great. It's Team Star." said Nemona.
"Team Star?" replied Lincoln.
"Who are they?" asked Stan.
"They're a bunch of academy students who go around causing trouble and trying to get other students to join their gang. I'm telling you they're bad news. Even our staff doesn't know what to do about them." said Nemona.
"Well, what are they doing with Penny?" asked Kyle.
"Whatever it is, it can't be good." said Nemona.
"Let's see what they're up to." said Lincoln. He and the others start running over to where Penny and the Team Stars members are.
"Come on. We have a quota to fill, so will you just sign up already?!" a Team Star member said to Penny.
"Um...I'd rather not." said Penny, timidly. Lincoln turns to Stan and his friends.
"We gotta help her out, guys." said Lincoln.
"Yeah. Let's show these clowns what happens when you mess with a friend of ours." replied Stan. They quickly rush to Penny's side and face the Team Star members.
"Huh? You want in on this too?" asked a male, dark-skinned Team Star member. "If you're here to sign up, we'll get to you next. We've nearly got this one in the bag."
"Penny doesn't want in on this, and we certainly don't want in either." said Kenny.
"Yeah. So, get lost or face the consequences." said Kyle.
"Look you bunch of nobodies. This is none of your business, so you can all just get lost." asked a female Team Star member.
"Hey! When one of our friends is being bothered by a bunch of punks, it BECOMES our business." said Lincoln.
"Oh, is that so. Well, it looks like we'll have to teach you nobodies a lesson. Who wants to go first?" asked the female Team Star member.
"I'm up for the challenge." said Kenny as he steps forward.
"Okay, kid. You asked for it. Prepare to see stars." said the female Team Star member as she does a pose which involves making a star outline with her arms and hands. She then throws a pokeball and releases a small Pokemon with stubby little feet, a black head with big blue eyes, two, pink-tipped, front teeth; a gray body, and a sprig of hair on its head that looks like the tip of a paintbrush. Kenny takes out his Rotom Phone and aims it at the Pokemon.
"Shroodle, the Toxic Mouse Pokemon. Though usually a mellow Pokemon, it will sink its sharp, poison-tipped front teeth into any that anger it, causing paralysis in the object of its ire." said the Rotom Phone.
"Okay, you're a poison and normal-type Pokemon. I have just the Pokemon for the job." said Kenny as he throws a pokeball, releasing his Wooper. Wooper stares at his opponent, ready for battle. "Wooper, use Mud Shot." Wooper launches a ball of mud at Shroodle, hitting it and doing super-effective damage and reducing its speed.
"Shroodle, use Scratch." said the Team Star member. Shroodle lunges at Wooper and scratches his face.
"Wooper. Hit it with one more Mud Shot." said Kenny. Wooper hits Shroodle with another Mud Shot, this time knocking it out, much to the Team Star member's stunned shock.
"How can I lose to some kid?" asked the female Team Star member as she returns Shroodle to its pokeball. The male Team Star member steps forward.
"Looks like I'm up next." said the male Team Star member. Just then, Nemona steps forward.
"Hold it right there, you two." said Nemona. The Team Star members look and her and their eyes widen when they recognize her.
"Aren't you the student council president and a champion-ranked trainer, Nemona?!" asked the male Team Star member.
"That's right. And as such, I can't allow you two to go around causing trouble for students." said Nemona.
"Look. This doesn't involve you, so just mind your own business." said the male Team Star member.
"Excuse me? But whatever goes on at or near Naranja Academy IS my business." said Nemona. Lincoln suddenly steps forward.
"Hey, Nemona. How about I handle this one?" said Lincoln.
"Are you sure about that?" asked Nemona.
"Yeah. Why waste your time with this jerk?" asked Lincoln.
"Hey! No one insults a Team Star member!" yelled the male Team Star member. Nemona hands Lincoln some sort of black pokeball with a transparent top that had some sort of shiny crystal-like object inside it.
"What's this?" asked Lincoln.
"Something I've planned on giving you today. I have one for Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman as well. It's called a Tera Orb. It will allow you to Terastallize your Pokemon." explained Nemona.
"Terastallize? What's that mean?" asked Lincoln.
"I can explain it better while you're battling his Team Star thug." said Nemona.
"Okay. Let's do this." said Lincoln.
"Well, it's better than battling that student council president dweeb." said the male Team Star member. He and Lincoln each pull out a pokeball. The Team Star member throws his, releasing a Yungoos. Lincoln throws his, releasing his Fuecoco.
"Okay, Lincoln. To use that Tera Orb, throw it at your Fuecoco." said Nemona. Lincoln does so and the Tera Orb stops and floats over Fuecoco. Suddenly, square pillars of crystal engulf Fuecoco. The crystal pillars suddenly shatter, showing that Fuecoco's body has become crystallized, plus it had a crystal candelabra sticking out of his head. Lincoln, Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman stare in amazement.
"Wow! What happened to Fuecoco?" asked Lincoln.
"He's been Terastallized. A Terastallized Pokemon's type becomes different from what it was before. But since you're Fuecoco's Tera Form type is the same as it was before, all that happens is that your Fuecoco gets a power boost." explained Nemona.
"A power boost, huh? Well that would come in handy if I'm ever against a tough opponent in the future. I'll try this out on this Team Star guy's Yungoos." said Lincoln as he turns back towards the Team Star member. "Okay, Fuecoco. Use Ember." Fuecoco releases a powered-up Ember attack which hits and knocks out the Yungoos, surprising the Team Star member.
"No way! Taken out in just one hit?!" responded the Team Star member. He then returns Yungoos to its pokeball.
"Now you two better leave before I report you to Mr. Clavell." said Nemona.
"Fine! This place is boring us anyway. Let's get out of here." said the female Team Star as she and the male Team Star member run off. Suddenly, Fuecoco's skin shattered and he returns to his normal state. Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny run over to Lincoln.
"Dude! That was so awesome!" said Stan.
"I know! Terastillization looks so awesome!" said Kyle. He then looks towards Nemona. "You said you had Tera Orbs for us too, right?" Nemona reaches into her satchel and pulls out four Tera Orbs and gives one to Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny.
"I can't wait to use this!" said Cartman.
"Just so you know, after you use a Tera Orb in battle, you can't use it again until you get it recharged at a Pokemon Center." said Nemona.
"We'll be sure to remember that. Thanks, Nemona." said Lincoln.
"Now normally you would have to take special classes in order to be allowed to use Tera Orbs, but I've put in a good word for the five of you with Mr. Clavell so it's okay for you five to use those." said Nemona.
"Thanks, Nemona." said Kenny. Just then, Penny walks over to them.
"Thank you all for helping me." said Penny.
"No problem." said Nemona. Penny then runs off towards the academy. Nemona looks at the clock app on her Rotom Phone. "It looks like we have about a half hour before Mr. Clavell's announcement. Let's go into the academy and wait."
"Okay. Let's go." said Lincoln and they all start climbing up the tall flight of stairs to Naranja Academy.
"You'd think after three months of doing this, we'd get used to it." said Stan.
"I've been here for over a year, and I'm still not used to it." said Nemona.
