The following day Joe called his mom on his way home from work and apologized for acting out last night. She was very understanding and sorry it hurt him so much. He wasn't sold on Sam for her but he was going to support it because she was his mom.

Jamie had texted and invited Joe to a guys night over at Franks tonight. He wanted to go for a little so he shot Taylor a quick text to let her know but, still promised he'd be home before 9.

During the game they got on the topic of kids and how once you have them they really change you and run you're life basically. It wasn't a negative conversation at all but Joe could tell Jamie was in need of a night out.

"As much as I look forward to having kids I do cringe a little at the thought of sleepless nights." Joe told them.

"Yeah they were a ball." Danny said.

"They're something you certainly do forget about over time, making it easier to do it all over again." Frank said making Henry and them all laugh.

"Hopefully haha." Joe said with a sip of whiskey.

"Next months the new treatment right?" Jamie asked.

"Yeah, end of it. Fingers crossed, she's getting impatient."

"I believe that. Want something so bad that everyone around you seems to make look easy and it's not happening." Jamie said.

"Defiantly a hard pill to swallow. I'm not depressed about it…yet. If I was her, sure, I'd take it just as hard but I have a lot of hope. Hell there's so many things you can do out there something will work for us."

"Positivity is key." Henry said.

"Just keep in mind, Women are different, everything going on plays a part in her emotions, it's not all separate." Frank told him.

"Oh I know that, learned that real quick ha." Joe said with a laugh, Danny finished dealing the cards and started a new game.

When Joe got home he noticed all the lights were off, Taylor never responded to his text, maybe she went out too with friends?

He walked through the apartment to their bedroom and saw a light coming out from under the door, he opened it and saw her in bed on her laptop.

"Hey babe, you're in bed already?" He wondered beings it was 8:30, definitely way too early to be going to bed.

"Yeah." She said bluntly.

"Get my text?" He wonders.

"Yeah."

"Are you mad at me or something?" He wondered.

"No." She states.

"Okay…just had a long day?" He guessed.

"Yeah."

"Alright well I'm gonna get a shower if that's cool?" He was walking on eggshells because he could tell something was wrong but he didn't know how far to push. She looked up at him, then away, and then her hand covered her face.

"Taylor, what?" He was concerned at the fact she was crying now suddenly.

"I got fired."

"What!?"

"Well I guess I didn't get fired technically but they announced they're moving to a new location!"

"Oh. Where to?"

"Fucking Garden city!" She grew angry.

"Yikes, that's a hike."

"That's why I'm upset, I have to find a new job. I'm not driving that far to work!"

"Alright well that's okay babe. I'm sure it won't be hard, everywhere's hiring right now." He assured. She looked at him like he was crazy which made him pull back.

"What?" He asked.

"Do you know how much I enjoy working where I do!?"

"Well yeah I do too but I have to move around to different precincts sometimes and it's fine, I think you'll like meeting new people."

"That is not the same!" She says.

"Okay well I'm just saying, I think it'll be okay." He told her relieved it wasn't something he did and this was not a huge deal.

"No, you don't understand how close I am to my co workers, they've been with me through hell and back!"

"Then stay there and drive 45 minutes to work." He told her matter of factly, she shut her computer hard.

"God Joe you just don't get it!" She said as she angrily got out of bed and left the bedroom.

"Tay." He said to stop her but failing, he took a deep breath and went to shower. He'll deal with all that when he was able to relax. She's been super hard to read lately.

"Babe why are you so mad at me?" Joe asked sitting down on the couch with her.

"Because you're not understanding what I'm saying, you just shut down my emotions."

"That wasn't my intention. I'm just trying to help you figure out what to do and not be upset."

"Well I'm allowed to be upset, don't just shut it down." She told him.

"You are, sorry." He said watching her head to the kitchen.

"There's no more wine!?" She said shutting the cabinet door and setting the empty wine glass on the counter, except she lost her grip on it and it shattered all over the floor.

"Fuck!" She rubbed her head and took a breath. Joe immediately went to help her clean it up.

"Taylor, what is going on?" he asked when he saw she had tears coming down her cheeks again, she shook her head as she picked up the pieces of glass.

"Seriously baby, what's going on with you lately?" He asks tossing the broken glass in the trash.

"Are you serious? I have to quit my job, I'm stressed, I'm mad, I'm sad, hello! Where have you been!?" She goes to get the vacuum, Joe waits until she's done running it to talk again.

"It's more then that, you've been off for a little while now."

"Well I've went through a lot lately, can you blame me?"

"Course not. I just want to know what I can do to fix it…because you, being like this is not fun."

"Gee thanks. Now I'm too dramatic and I emotional for you."

"Tay stop that right now. Just tell me what you need from me."

"I don't know what I need, I think I'm nervous for next month. It's all that's been on my mind. I'm so excited, but I'm scared to death." She finally admitted.

"We're gonna be fine baby, we just gotta keep praying about it." He said hugging her, she hugged him back and they stood there in the kitchen for awhile in silence embracing. He made her relaxed and his arms were her safe place, they always have been. That's what she really needed.
