chapter 18 the attack on the village
on the temple in the mountains of Galuna island Gray lies on the ground defeated by Lyon barely conscious he watched as one little snow flake falls from the sky and landing next to him thinking back on his training in the snow
Flashback
a younger Gray lies in the snow exhausted from his training with his master
Ur: whats the matter Gray dont tell me your giving up already get up Gray get up
back to the present
Natsu: get up Gray!
suddenly he noticed that Natsu was behind him
Natsu: ...man you look rough he really beat the snot out of you huh?
Gray: ...Natsu ..what..are you doing here?
Natsu: i came looking for you good thing i did tho i promised Luce to come back and she tells you the same thing so lets go ..btw i wil pay you back for kicking me of the mountain
he grabbed Gray on his shirt and pulled him up
Gray: wait i can walk ..where's Lyon?
Natsu: i don't know by the time i made it back here everybody vanished
Gray tried getting up but was to weak to stand so Natsu grabbed him again and pulled him u and carries him on his back ..well back iceblock ..you know what i mean
Natsu: now hold on we have to hurry and get back to the village before they do and Im dam sure Lucy doesn't have the strength now to fight
Gray: ..her wings are stil frozen?
Natsu: no she freed her wings with some powerful spell but it cost her all her magic power
Gray: ..i see
Natsu: now lets go
Natsu started to walk and while Gray was carried by Natsu he thought back on the moment where his master told him not to go after Deliora
flashback
Ur: no way Gray Deliora is out of your league dont go after him
then he remembered the moment he wanted to stop Natsu
Natsu: i am going on this S-class quest
Gray: Natsu im warning you your way out of your league here
present
he then realized he said the same to Natsu and suddenly starts to cry
Gray: ..hey
Natsu: yeah?
Gray: ..im sorry ..im sorry i didn't believe in you ..im no better
then Natsu stopped walking
Natsu: QUIT FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU LOST A FIGHT YOUR A MEMBER OF FAIRY TAIL
gray,s eyes widened
Natsu: and we dont give up when times are though so just put it behind you and keep moving forward
then Natsu started or tried to run
Natsu: tsk arrg now it is even harder to run
back at the village Lucy and Happy arrived at the village Lucy was sitting on the ground still tired from using the spell to free her wings while Happy gathered all the villagers and warning them of the coming danger
Lucy: everyone listen up a group of enemy wizards are heading towards the village for an attack
: they come down here and fight us?
Lucy: thats right we need a plan to defend the village no matter what i will protect the village from the enemy wizards
Happy: but lucy your still weak from that spell you used your not ready to fight yet!
Lucy: doesn't matter Happy i have to try
Happy: Lushy...ohh wait i have a plan
Lucy: you do?
then the village chief walked towards them
Moka: what are all of you doing out here
: chief!
Lucy: forgive me sir but we don't have much time the enemy can attack at any moment right now
Moka: enemy?
Lucy: yes we may believe they caused they curse on your people they have been hiding in the temple for a long time
Moka: i don't care when are you gonna destroy the moon!?
Lucy: ..uhm we don't think it was the moon sir
Moka: you lie do what we ask of you!
: chief.. please calm down
: come on lets go
two of the villagers are dragging the chief away from them
Mako: get your hands of me don't listen to her she doesn't know what she's talking about
Happy and Lucy: uhh...
: he doesn't mean any of that he,s just upset ...he is like this sins Bobo died
lucy: ..is see the poor man ..i know how it feels to lose someone ..anyway Happy you had a plan
Happy: aye Lucy i need you to summon virgo for just a moment
Lucy: ..okay
then Lucy took out virgo,s key
Lucy:{ OPEN GATE OF THE MAIDEN VIRGO}
the gate open and from the ground Virgo appeared
: she cute
: so pretty

Lucy: okay enough with that please
a few minutes later
Virgo: princess i completed the task
Lucy: much appreciated Virgo I'm sorry but i have to send you back now I'm to low on magic energy
Virgo: its alright princess please take care
and then she disappears
happy: this plan is gonna be brilliant
Lucy: ..okay Happy tell us your plan one more time
Happy: right so there is only one way into the village so the enemy has to go over if they have to get in and so they will fall into the pitfall trap its easy
Lucy: ..i don't wan to be mean Happy but they would never fall for that
: uhm me either
: im sorry but i agree with her
Happy: doubt me all you want it wil work you'll see
: miss Lucy someone is coming this way!
then Lucy stood up taking out her sword
Lucy: well its all we got right now lets hope your plan works Happy now open the gate!
: right!
the villager opens the gate but when they thought it was the enemy coming their way instead it was Natsu carrying Gray with him
Natsu: hey you guys are you okay!
Happy: ..NATSU!
Lucy: Natsu Gray thank god your saf-...wait a minute
Natsu kept running towards them without noticing the trap
Lucy: wait Natsu stop don't come any closer!
Natsu: what?
Lucy: just stooppp !
Natsu stopped running just in time standing right before the pitfall trap
Lucy: few
Natsu: hmm hey what's with the grass?
Lucy: wait!
Natsu then took a step forward and fell right into the pitfall trap
Natsu: Whaaa!
everyone had their mouths wide open and Happy was hiding behind Lucy
: ..i cant believe he fell for it
: im sorry we doubted you
Lucy: ..yeah im sorry to Happy
Happy: ehhehe
Natsu: very funny but we don't have time to play practical jokes on each other
Happy: it wasn't like that at all!
Lucy: but to the point its good to see you Natsu are you two alright?
Natsu: yeah im fine but Gray is out for the count
Lucy: what dam that bastard!
Natsu suddenly noticed he can move his body more freely
Natsu: hey the ice is gone whoa it must have cracked when i fell down
Happy: you see i knew it was a good idea
Lucy: sorry Happy but i believe the spell was broken when he was out of the magic,s range
Natsu: IM FREE!
later they all pulled Natsu and Gray out of the pit and laid Gray carefully on the ground
Lucy: oh no Gray..
Natsu: hey how are you feeling Luce should you be standing up?
Lucy: don't worry Natsu I'm fine I've rested enough im just thankful you guys came back
Natsu didn't buy that she looks better but he still saw that she was tired but didn't brought it up
Natsu: hey i promised i would be back with Gray right and i wouldn't go back on that promise
Lucy smiled fondly at Natsu and nod
Natsu: so how come Lyon,s lackeys haven't made it here yet?
Lucy: your guess is as good as mine I'm afraid i remember they left for the village before you but you got here first ...i dont like this
Natsu: i was a lot slower because of the ice and carrying Gray so i share your feeling
then one of the villagers notices something in the air
: hey over there!
they all look at the sky to see something heading their way
: its a giant rat
: and is carrying a bucket
Happy: heyyyy now my trap is useless!
on the flying rat
Sherry: i didn't realize that the poison jelly took so long to prepare
Yuka: we timed it perfectly those wizards were able to make it back to the village
Toby: rargh
Sherry: we cannot rest until the demon Deliora has been revived for the cold emperor anyone who dares to stand in our way must die
then from the bucket a small green drop fell from the bucket falling down straight to Lucy but she didn't noticed it
Natsu: Luce watch out!
Natsu tackled Lucy out of the way before the green drop landed on her it hit the ground and immediately dissolved into the ground creating a small hole
Natsu: i knew i smelled correctly that stuff is deadly
Lucy: whoa i was so focused on them that i didn't noticed it thanks for that Natsu
Natsu: of course any-
but when he looked at her noticed he was right on top of Lucy and blushed deep red the same for Lucy when she noticed the other way around
Natsu and Lucy: ..uhh!
he quickly got of Lucy and helped her up
Lucy: heh uh y-yeah thanks again
Natsu: right i i mean of-of course no problem n..no problem at all
Happy saw it happening and snickerd
Happy: ( hihi cant wait to tell Mira about this)
they both shook out of it and realized the danger from what's in the bucket and the villagers panics
: that flying rat thing got a giant bucket full of it!
: no they gonna dump it right at us
back on the rat
Yuka: hideous ..who would have thought the moon drip could turn people into these beast
Sherry: they look like the demon children of Deliora ..Angelica would you do the honor?
on command the giant rat throw the bucket full of acid empty right above the village falling down right on top of the village
Lucy: noo dammit we have to do something!
then Natsu ran ahead of them
Natsu: i want everyone move to the center of the village now!
Lucy: natsu!
Natsu: Happy you ready to fly!
Happy: aye sir!
Natsu jumped high in the sky and Happy grabbed him on his back and they fly right at the green acid
Lucy: ah now i see ..you heard him move it!
all the villagers are running to the center and three of them carried Gray with them to safety ..but the chief stayed behind
Moka: im not going i wont leave Bobo's grave!
: but chief that jelly is gonna get ya!
Lucy saw what happened and quickly turned back to grab him
Moka: unhand me i wont leave him behind
Lucy: i understand that but I'm sure your son wants you to live would your son be happy if you threw away your life ?
Moka: ..no he wouldn't
Lucy: then lets go
back with Natsu he moves closer to the acid and when he,s close enough
Natsu: the flames on my right hand and the flames on my left put them together!
he put both hands together to create a powerful fire ball
Natsu: you'll get { FIRE DRAGON BRILJANT FLAME}
the fireball heads right to the acid and explodes in the middle dispersing it out of range from the villagers
Yuka: impossible he desperst it!
Sherry: he,s a fire wizard!?
when the green rain stopped the whole village was dissolved by the acid only the center remained
: ohh the village is gone
: this is terrible
: is everyone okay?
Lucy: few (quick thinking Natsu)
when the fog cleared more the chief saw that the grave was still standing
Moka: oh Bobo's grave its stil standing ..
but then one of the three wizards kicked the stone down pissing of both Lucy and Natsu
Sherry: the cold emperor ordered us to eradicate both the villagers and its people we were trying to show mercy by making your deaths quick and painless ..but now you give us no choice but to resort to bloodshed
Natsu and Lucy only glared at them
Yuka: fifty villagers two wizards ..shouldn't take more than two minutes
Natsu: ..you ready Luce
Lucy: ..more than ever
Happy: count again cause there are three wizards
then Gray slowly awakes
Moka: ..how dare they ..such disrespect tsk
the he got a thick mark and wanted to move but was held back again
... THEY KICKED DOWN BOBO,S GRAVE
: woah calm down chief
: we have to get out of here sir
: yeah we dont want to get caught in the middle of it
: hurry get him out of here
the villagers carried him away from the fight to safety
Gray: ..let me help you
Lucy: Gray ..dont
Natsu: not gonna happen we don't need your help
Lucy: natsu ..
Gray: Natsu ..don't do this to me
then Natsu punched him in the stomach
Natsu: just lie down and get some rest
Gray: urg ..someday ..il
then he felt unconscious again Natsu catching him before he fell on the ground
Lucy: ..that was rough ..but he didn't gave him a choice
Happy: aye he knew he wasn't able to fight so he had to stop him
Lucy: i know i would have done the same ..he doesn't show it but he really does care about him
Happy: aye
one of the villagers picked up Gray and carries him over his shoulder
Lucy: please look after Gray for us
: no problem miss Lucy
Lucy: thank you
: alright lets go
all the villagers moved away from the village to safety
Sherry: were not leaving until every person in this village is dead Angelica
on que the giant rat jumped up in the air spinning his tail to fly it picked up Cherry and then headed after the villagers
Lucy: ..now ive had it ...Natsu take care of those two ..il handle her and the rat
Lucy unfolds her wings and flew up in the air chasing after Cherry and the rat
Sherry: what no way she has wings and can fly!?
Lucy grabs her sword and pointed to the rat
Lucy: {HEAVENS LIGHT BEAM}
out of her sword a beam of light came out and hit the rats tail it cried out in pain and stopped spinning its tail
Sherry: arghh oh no!
the giant rat falls and crashes on the ground further ahead and Lucy flew after them Yuka and toby couldn't believe what they saw
Yuka: no way that wizard can fly ..tsk he,s gonna be ticked
Toby: I DONT HAVE ANY THICKS!
Yuka: i wasn't talking about you
Natsu could only look were she was headed and looks worried
Natsu: i know she's strong and can take care of herself but she was still tired because of that spell ...
Happy: dont worry Natsu il keep an eye on her
Natsu: thanks buddy be careful
Happy: aye
then Happy flew after Lucy
Natsu: ..il stay here and deal with them
then Natsu charged at them giving Toby a headbutt knocking him to the ground and quickly turned around and used his fire dragon roar to attack Yuka but he blocked it with his magic
Yuka: a wizards that can breaths fire ..is see dont tell me your the salamander from Fairy tail ive heard so much about?
Natsu: ..
then Toby quickly got up
Toby: grr im good!
Yuka: you know we used to be members of a famous guild ourselves so you shouldn't blow us off in fact 'iron rock Jura' used to belong to the same guild surely youve heard of the lamia,s scale
but Natsu didn't listen and attacked them both with his magic toby got hit but Yuka blocked it again
Yuka: h-hey cut it out listen when I'm talking to you!
Natsu: why you think i care what guilds your from or who the other members are? we came here to help the villagers and your the ones who put them in danger
then he glared
Natsu: which makes you Fairy tails enemy and that gives me more enough reason to fight you!
Yuka: tsk hey Toby just stand back you don't need to get involved i got this
Toby then stepped back
Yuka: {WAVE}
a blue wave of magic heads straight to Natsu
Natsu: ill tear that thing apart
but he didn't had enough time and quickly dodged out of the way
Yuka: oops guess you weren't ready for that
then Natsu used his roar again but was blocked again creating a barrier around him
Yuka: the pulsing energy coming from my hand defuses all types of magic which means none of your spells will work against me
Natsu: so that's why my fire power couldn't destroy his barrier .. i get it
Yuka: im specialized in anti wizard magic while i was at the Lamia,s scale guild and im sure you could understand why
then two magic circles appeared on both hands
Yuka: no matter how strong they might be all wizards are powerless against me even you!
then he created two orbs and fired straight at Natsu but he dodged out of the way
Natsu: oh yeah!
then Natsu attack Yuka head on with his fist but yuka created a barrier again blocking his attack
Yuka: like i told you your magic is useless against my wave magic
Natsu: heh that doesn't mean ill let you of the hook ill just have to crush you without it
then whit out magic he punched trough the barrier
Natsu: hey look i got trough
but then his arm started to hurt and cried out in pain
Natsu: ahhh!
Yuka: you put your arm inside a vortex of magic energy not a smart move
but then even in pain h pushed his face trough the barrier shocking Yuka
Yuka: eek!
Toby: whoa he,s pushing his body trough the vortex!
Natsu: hahah your magic is no match against my brute strength so what are you gonna do now
Toby: HES CRAZY YUKA WATCH OUT
Yuka: you broke trough my wave but now your stuck salamander your flames aren't gonna work now that your stuck inside
Natsu: but i can still use them outside and you just gave me a great idea
then he created a fire burst from his elbow
Natsu: {FIRE DRAGON}
Yuka: WHAT HES USING HIS FIRE MAGIC TO CREATE A BOOSTER FROM HIS ELBOW TO INCREASE THE POWER OF HIS PUNCH!
Natsu: {FLAMED ELBOW}
with out trouble he punched Yuka in the face sending him flying and crashes on the ground knocking him out
Natsu: thats one down
Toby: grow man your awesome
Natsu: your about to see just how awesome first hand
Toby: im not scared because im even stronger then Yuka is
then his nails glowed green and grew longer
Toby: check out my mega jellyfish paralyzing claws bet you never guess what these babies can do
Natsu: ..paralyze you
Toby: whoaaa how did you know that!...hey you got ESP or something?
Natsu: ..no your just ..rea dumb
Toby: NOBODY TALKS TO ME LIKE THAT!
he tried to hit Natsu but dodged easily out of the way
Natsu: hey watch it
he tried over and over again but still misses
Toby: with just one swipe from my claws you'll be frozen waiting to die
Natsu: huh hey man hold up a second you got a little something right here
Toby stopped and felt on his head but then his claws poked his head paralyzing himself and felt to the ground (when i first saw this scene i broke XD)
Natsu: well that was easy those guys were a joke
then he picked up the stone they kicked down and put it back on its place
Natsu: were gonna find a way to change your people back to normal Bobo i know we will and i promise you i will avenge your death
meanwhile in the caves with Deliora
: excuse me cold emperor I'm sorry to interrupt but i was wondering why you chose to spare that wizard Gray
Lyon: no reason other than i don't feel the need to shed any more blood
: you say that but ordering your minions to kill those villagers tells a different story it would appear that you have a soft spot for your former rival
Lyon: hm nonsense i simply have no desire to get anymore blood on my hands but if he happens to get in my way again i wont hesitate to kill him

with Lucy she flew to the place where Sherry and her rat crashed and landed
Lucy: ..( dam im getting to tired again im afraid i only have to do with my spirits and sword)
she saw that the rat was out cold then she spotted Sherry in tears
Sherry: ..do you have any idea what you have done its horrible because of you the cold emperor will no longer be able to trust me he wont love me anymore
Lucy: ..seriously
and look what you did to Angelica IL MAKE YOU PAY!
Lucy: come and get it you lunatic

the ground began to shake then one of the trees began to move towards Lucy
Lucy: what the she can bring it to life?
the doll tree threw a punch at Lucy but she dodged it then took out Taurus key
Lucy: i need your help big guy {OPEN GATE OF THE GOLDEN BULL TAURUS}
the gate open and Taurus appears from the ground
Taurus: im not a perv just a fan of pretty ladies (was that really necessary in the anime XD)
Lucy: lets go Taurus

both Taurus and lucy charged at the doll tree the tree tried to fight back but Lucy cut off the arms while Taurus chopped the tree in half
Sherry: so that angel is an celestial wizard to!?
Lucy: nice work Taurus

but he didn't and raised his axe again and strikes at Lucy again this time knocking her on the ground
Lucy: Taurus what is happening to you snap out of it please!
Taurus: MOOOO!
he slams his fist on the ground nearly missing Lucy then he held her on the ground grabbing her arms
Taurus: ahh miss Lucy im sorry i cant control my mooovements
Lucy: what!
Sherry: haha marionet attack magic you like it? it allows me to control any living thing well all except humans of course it works well on your spirit friend
Lucy: ..you witch you dare control my friend like some puppe you make me sick!
Sherry: and now your own friend will end you right here
Lucy: Taurus you have to fight back!
taurus: arg I'm so sorry miss Lucy I'm trying but i cant she is controlling my every moooove

but it didn't work Taurus still pinned her down

Taurus closed his eyes and punched the ground nearly hitting Lucy
Sherry: i wonder how long you can keep this up
Taurus kept punching and punching but stil misses
Sherry: are all Fairy tail wizards pathetic like you its just sad

near the forest of magnolia
Taurus: so your name is miss Lucy eh im so lucky i have a real angel standing right before me moooo look at youuu!

Lucy looked at Taurus he may be a perv but she can tell he is honest about his promise and smiled

his eyes flicker from his control and tries to fight back the control over him
Sherry: what are you doing finish her off already!
Taurus: rrgr aaargggh!
he held up his fist ready to strike
Lucy: Taurus you heard what she said right we can send you back if we work together fight it Taurus i know you can do it FIGHT!
his eyes flicker more and more and then the fist came down but stopped just before her face then he began to glow and smiled at her
taurus: ..moo
Lucy smiled back and gave a fistbump to Taurus
Lucy: i knew you could do it Taurus I'm proud
then he disappeared back to the celestial word
Sherry: what she beat my marionet magic it failed me!
Lucy: now you got me really pissed
Sherry: huh?
Lucy: ..you attacked the villagers you controlled my friend against his will then you insulted my family
Lucy gave a glare at sherry so bad that she started to shake
Lucy: now its time il pay you back ten times!
aaand finished ..dammit failed again getting this done on time i keep underestimating how much time it needs to finish it anyway tomorrow il work on chapter 19
