Ten years. The sun rose over Earth, the same as it always had. But this star had seen many changes over the course of a decade, and Earth itself was not the same as it had been. The Earth had been — and was still — a world ever evolving. A multitude of cultural and scientific developments had swept the world by storm within the past several years, and it was fair to say that Earth would never be the same.
A year after the defeat of Majin Bū — Age 775 — Gohan, Erasa, Videl, and their classmate had graduated from high school and begun their first steps into their lives. True to his word, Gohan had taken up an internship in the Northern Capital, under a professor who was interested in what Gohan had to offer; Chi-Chi would go on to claim it as the one of the happiest days of her life to see her son moving forward in the world of academics — she had almost claimed it as the definitive happiest day until helpfully reminded of numerous events more deserving of that honour.
Erasa was moving forward in her own way as well. Her dream to start up her own dōjō had not been entirely fluff. Marque had not initially approved — being a man of the business mindset, he had wanted Erasa to take up an office job in the Western Capital — but her father had to be reminded that Erasa was the furthest thing from normal. In the end, he relented, and Erasa went to Muten Rōshi for guidance. She had known his school was unorthodox, but the advice of a true master was something not to be wasted, and through Rōshi's instruction, Erasa had begun setting the foundation for a new school — the Shinma School of Martial Arts.
Videl, however, had devoted herself fully to training with Piccolo, and Goten and Trunks would go on to increase their regimen as they got older as well; Chi-Chi eventually had to accept that Goten would follow more in Goku's footsteps than she wanted. Piccolo trained his students with pride, and meticulously honed their skills.
Bulma's achievements were not to be overlooked. In Age 776, her scientific endeavors would see the light of day fully. Utilizing schematics from the late Dr. Gero, she reverse-engineered the Eternal Energy Reactor that the Red Ribbon Scientist had produced. But rather than utilising it as a WMD, she instead applied it for a more practical purpose. The Eternal Energy Reactor, as produced by the Capsule Corporation, became the source of power of planet Earth, and Bulma utilised her new reactor to power machinery, homes, and devices around the planet. But she didn't stop at simply revolutionizing how the world used energy. By analyzing Senzu, Bulma was able to produce a medicine that healed injuries within seconds.
Utilising the immense influence of Capsule Corporation, this new wonder drug was produced for the public. While it did not provide a cure-all for diseases — as the Senzu themselves could not heal such things, be they viral or bacterial — disease incidence had still dropped, due to the new drug's ability to heal wounds instantly, thus lowering the chances of infection.
With her ties to the Galactic Patrol through a disgruntled Jaco, Bulma — in Age 777 — shared these developments with the Galactic Patrol, and in turn, put Earth on the galactic map of the Milky Way as a planet of prominence. Bulma used the resources of Capsule Corporation to her full disposal, and began to construct ships for space-travel. The Galactic Patrol cooperated, with Earth's new technology providing their own forces with a major technological boom of its own, similar to what Earth was experiencing. Earth's Space Programme gained a larger role, utilising technology from the Saiyan craft that Dr. Brief had used to create Goku's spaceship for Namek years ago, and re-purposed it for a new kind of craft used by the Earthlings themselves. It was Earth's first step into the galactic forefront, and the veil was shattered as Earthlings were exposed to the existence of other extraterrestrial races for the first time.
Gohan's research began to make headway. Studying into the nature of ki, the half-Saiyan compiled his assembled knowledge into a scientific book, entitled Groundbreaking Science late in Age 777. The book went into detail behind the mechanics and existence of ki, revealing the energy's existence to Earth's general public. Despite the misgivings of Mr. Satan, the Earthlings took to the book with interest, and backed by Capsule Corporation, sold well. Those who aspired to be martial artists took interest in the book, and even the scientists who disagreed with the contents could not argue with the evidence — a display by Gohan himself on the effects of ki and its usage. This led to two revolutions within the world — a new field of science, Ontopneumalogy, pioneered by Gohan, and a growing interest in martial arts, and how ki could be applied to it.
In Age 778, Gohan and Erasa would finally marry. It had been quite a ceremony, with family and friends from all sides attending. Piccolo would be one of the few who didn't, but Gohan had known better than to hold it against his teacher. Social gatherings were far from Piccolo's norm, and the Nameccian was watching the procession from a distance. The proceedings had been marred only by the fact that Goku wasn't there to attend, but regardless, the wedding had been a been a success, and Erasa and Gohan had honeymooned shortly after.
It was in Age 779 that Erasa had erected the shrine to Shénlóng within Satan City. The One-Star Ball, with a red gleam that was unnatural to its core, shone within the center of the shrine, and the construct itself was tended by Erasa to ensure it was kept intact.
Age 780: Erasa gave birth to a daughter; a young girl named Pen.
In Age 781, the Shinma School of Martial Arts was truly established, and Erasa began to take on students. Similarly, the New Turtle School and the New Crane School had begun to collect their own martial artists, many Earthlings being eager to learn from the likes of Yamcha and Tenshinan. The Tenkaichi Budōkai was also reformed, taking into account the new martial artists who had been utilising ki for the past four years. With the popularity of martial arts spreading around the globe, the Tenkaichi Budōkai itself had become an immensely popular and requested competition. Mr. Satan, despite not utilising ki, was still regaled as the Champion due to the participation of Majin Bū — now Mr. Bū — who would defeat the competition only to "lose" to Satan himself. Some things would truly just never change.
The Ages 782-783 had brought about uneventful changes on Earth. In only ten short years, life had changed drastically for the entire planet, and the Earthlings had adjusted fantastically. It brought the world to Age 784; the present day.
As the sun rose over the Earth, it shed the light onto a new chapter in the lives of the Dragon Team.
A/N: I don't think I've eve quite written a chapter in this manner before. It's an exposition dump like i have never written, but at least I enjoyed it. Ten years. A ten-year time-skip, everyone. That's what I'm giving you for this new arc. I know a lot of people wanted to see a wedding for Gohan and Erasa, and I had heavily considered writing it, but being someone who is thankfully not married, I don't know much about the inner workings of a wedding, and I feared it might just come off as hollow. Sorry to everyone who wanted to see that, I actually am. As always, let me explain a few names. Ontopneumalogy (精神研究されて, literally "the study of that which is spiritual"; consisting of the Greek words "onto-" meaning "that which is" and pneuma meaning "spirit"), is a name for the scientific study of ki that my friend gave me. Shinma (新魔, New Demon) is the name of Erasa's school of martial arts, and it is based on the fact that she, Gohan, and Piccolo all use the "demon" style. It can also be read as 神魔 "Godly Demon" instead, referencing Erasa and the Chōshinsui.
