The Universe, Simultaneously with the Tenkaichi Budōkai, Planet Terang

Hakaishin Beerus could not help but be bored. He sat in a polished marble chair, elbow on a table, face resting in his hands. Before him was a table, equally polished. Littering the table now were empty plates, where just before, there had been a veritable mountain of dishes. That had been the high point of the day. How many times had he seen this, exactly? To show up on a planet scheduled for destruction, only for the inhabitants to attempt to appease him through offering a good meal and entertainment.

"A hundred thousand, Lord Beerus," replied Whis, who was standing dutifully behind Beerus.

"Hm?" the Hakaishin's ears perked, turning towards Beerus. "What's a hundred thousand now, Whis?"

"Surely you were just thinking about how many times humans have tried to convince you otherwise in regards to destroying their planet?"

Beerus replied with a non-committal jerk of the head; a hundred thousand? It seemed like more. Then again, this entire ordeal that was before him seemed as if it had dragged on for hours. If anything, he missed the food. His yellow eyes watched the stage, where a multitude of unattractive aliens were performing a complex dance number, and let out a deliberate yawn.

Another alien, with a heavyset face, blue-skin, and dark grey beard, cast a worrisome glance at Beerus' obvious dissatisfaction. "Is his Lordship not pleased?" he asked, voice shaking with obvious trepidation. "W-We can perform another act, Lord Beerus!"

The Hakaishin waved him silent, and motioned towards the stage. "Don't bother yourself," said Beerus. "I've sat through the majority of the show, I suppose I'll watch it through to the end. It isn't like you'll come up with something more interesting, trust me."

"A-As you wish, sir," conceded the alien. The festivities as such continued, and Beerus continued to watch them in the same manner of disinterest. To him, it all blended together after awhile. These mortals. Their desires. A continual lack of progress. He'd seen it all. And thus he let his mind wander; the Hakaishin's brain, which held millennia on top of millennia of thoughts, drifted towards what he wanted to know so desperately.

What had been his dream?

It had been whispering in the back of his since he'd woken up. Something calling to him. Beckoning him. The prospect of a challenge, perhaps? A true rival? It's becoming clearer! Is it in relation to this Saiyan...perhaps? A Saiyan who defeated this Majin Bū...? "THAT'S IT!" He tapped a nail absentmindedly on the table in thought, completely ignorant to the fact that the 'entertainment' the aliens were putting on had come to an abrupt end.

"Lord Beerus," struck up the alien as tentatively as he could. "The performance is finished...i-is there something else you would like f-from us?"

The Hakaishin pushed himself back from the table, lightly standing up. "No. I believe we're done here." He scratched the back of his head with a claw, and his face curled into a smile. It was this single action that horrified the alien before Beerus, and those who had tried to entertain them. It was remorselessness, mirthless, and condescending packaged into a single expression. No warmth reached the yellow eyes of the Hakaishin, and he raised his hand lightly into the air.

A small, white kikha formed within his palm. It was barely the size of a marble, and for a moment, the Terangians thought they were being let off with a warning. This thought could not have been more incorrect. Beerus turned his palm towards the planet, and let the kikha fall. It descended slowly, and seemed to phase into the planet.

"Whis!" said Beerus lazily.

"Yes, Lord Beerus," replied the attendant. He stepped forward, and lightly tapped his staff onto the surface of Terang. A barrier erupted from it, enveloping himself and Beerus. As it had been with Planet Unfu, the chain reaction began. The crust of the planet began to split, magma rushing from beneath the planet's surface, breaching into lava as it spread across the globe. Terang shook violently; trees uprooted themselves, with the waves of the ocean crashing into the shore. Tidal waves began to form, sweeping across the globe. The gravity of the planet began to compromise, with its inhabitants beginning to float.

The planet began to crumble and collapse under itself, before finally exploding into a beautiful array of colour. Beerus and Whis were undisturbed by this act of destruction, and the barrier dispersed the moment the planet had been erased from history.

"I'm not sure what I despise more," groaned Beerus. "The horrible entertainment of that lot, or the disgusting mating ritual of — what were they called? — those Arlians!" Beerus let out an involuntary shudder remembering it; he scarcely regretted destroying a planet, and the planet Arlia would never be one he looked back fondly on.

"That was an unpleasant experience," Whis chided.

"Though I suppose that show wasn't a complete waste of time," said Beerus, stifling a yawn.

"Oh?" came a surprised response from Whis. "Forgive me Lord Beerus, but you were practically falling asleep there."

Beerus ignored this little jape, he was in too good of a mood to let it be spoiled now. "Ah, but Whis! During that incredibly dull 'performance', I remembered my dream! It was calling to me...yes! An archrival who can match my strength! An opponent worthy of me will finally appear...and above all else, it will be a Saiyan!"

Now Whis truly did laugh, a chortle as effeminate as his voice. "Lord Beerus, I find it hard to believe there exists a mortal who could rival you, at least within this Universe. This isn't another one of your prophecies again, is it? They don't exactly have the best...track record for accuracy."

"Just what are you insinuating?!" snapped Beerus.

"Do you not remember the time you 'prophesied' that a galactic model would be moving into our star system?" replied Whis. "It didn't exactly pan out."

"You're mocking me." was Beerus' dry response, his expression as bitter as his voice. "I'll prove it! Look into these Saiyans, right now!"

Whis sighed, resigned, and held out his staff. "If you insist, Lord Beerus," and the centre jewel on the staff began to glow green. He looked into the staff with the curiosity of a child, one eye gazing into eternity. "As I told you, the planet Vegeta was destroyed. And to be honest, there aren't a great many Saiyans left. In fact, the two out of the three remaining pure-bloods died recently...the young prince Vegeta, and a Saiyan who answers to both 'Son Gokū' and 'Kakarrot'."

"That's all very riveting information, Whis, but where do I find them?"

Whis held up a hand. "The Saiyan scenario is honestly quite interesting...but I suppose the one's you're looking for are the three half-bloods and a quarter-blooded child are located in 4032 Green, on planet 877: Earth."

"Earth?" repeated Beerus. "That was the planet with those strange 'dinosaur' creatures, wasn't it?" His voice drifted into a sour tone. "I wound up destroying most of them once they took an attitude with me."

"Indeed," replied Whis. "The strongest living Saiyan is the oldest child of Son Gokū. Son Gohan. He was the Saiyan who defeated Majin Bū."

"Son Gokū...Son Gohan..." muttered Beerus, tail jerking. "You mentioned that first one earlier...he sounds like quite the interesting fellow."

"He is quite unique for a Saiyan," said Whis, holding his staff aloft. It began to project a holographic image into the void of space. Displayed for Beerus and Whis to see were Son Gokū's finest battles. A young Saiyan child, beaten and battered, piercing through an elderly Nameccian with a desperate ploy. A grown man, having come into his own strength, taking down the reincarnation of this same Nameccian with the last dregs of power. Son Gokū, the Saiyan outcast, squaring off to battle Vegeta, the Prince of the Saiyans.

The legendary Super Saiyan, fueled by righteous fury, easily taking on Freeza, the Emperor of the Universe.

The same Super Saiyan sacrificing himself for the sake of his loved ones.

"He many accomplishments under his belt, and due to this, has been permitted to train with the North Kaiō. In fact, they're currently on the planet of the Grand Kaiō."

"A Saiyan who is not only virtuous but is training with the Kaiō themselves," Beerus placed a finger to his chin. "That is quite suspicious. Almost worthy of investigation, wouldn't you say?"

"If we are going to seek out this Saiyan, I believe it would be more prudent to head to Earth," replied Whis. "Son Gokū has been dead for nearly two decades. If you're going to find your archrival, then I would suppose you would count him among the living, Lord Beerus. But you haven't told me...what sets this Saiyan apart from the others?"

"Ah," Beerus raised a finger dramatically, grinning. "The Saiyan in my dream was no ordinary Saiyan! No, it was a Saiyan who had attained power unlike any other!" He clenched a fist. "A Super Saiyan God!"

"Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan God," muttered Whis. "Such over-the-top-naming, isn't it? It ends up sounding tawdry."

"How long would it take to get to this 'Earth'?" inquired Beerus.

"Roughly 26 minutes."

"So about the length of your average anime episode..." The Hakaishin let out an unnecessary groan. "How needlessly far! But I don't have a choice, do I? I'll suck it up and deal with it."

"In that case," said Whis cheerfully. "Let us be off!" He twirled his staff. "To Earth!"

Beerus floated behind Whis, and placed a hand on his attendant's shoulder. The two were enveloped in a rushing golden light, and immediately shot forward like a meteor. The light that enveloped them trailed behind as if it were a comet's tail, and the two rushed forward at great speeds. Beerus' eyes narrowed, an ominous grin crossing over his face.

I'm coming for you now...Super Saiyan God!

A/N: And here we are! Beerus has finally decided to make his move, heading to Earth in search of something called a "Super Saiyan God". The name "Terang" is based on the German word Untergang, for "Doom". Since this was such a short chapter, Demod20 didn't proofread it, so it might have a few errors here or there. Regardless, things are finally in motion! I'll see you all soon in the next exciting chapters of the Erased Chronicles.
