A/n: This chapter crosses over with one Chicago a good bit, you don't have to have seen the shows though to read it. For the people who are familiar with it though this is set in between seasons 1 and 2 of fire and med hadn't premiered yet. I used wikipedias, character's backgrounds and common sense to make the staffing at med as realistic as possible. I hope you guys like the crossover I'm attempting to create.
June 1st, 12:15 AM, west 62nd street.
Elliot's eyes slowly opened as he noticed an ache in his body right away what the hell? What happened to us?
He then took a glance in front of him we recked, the front end of this car is done for. Ohh god Liv warned me about the car! He realized as he then quickly looked over to his right "Olivia? Olivia honey are you okay? Talk to me sweetheart please..."
Elliot got no response from her but her body was shivering "Olivia? Honey?" he pleaded as he ignored the general ache he was feeling all over his body as he turned around in his seat to face her and checked her pulse with one hand while threading his fingers through her hair with the other.
She still gave no audible response but her pulse was steady as that made him sigh in relief "we're gonna be fine honey, it's alright everything's gonna be alright," he said softly not sure if she could hear him but hoping if she could his words would comfort her as he then moved the hand that was on her neck and attempted to unlock her seatbelt.
"Dammit!" Elliot said allowed when the button wouldn't mash as he then attempted to break the belt with his hands, having no choice but to move his hand from her hair now.
Despite using all of his strength the belt didn't break as his efforts only resulted in giving him minor friction burns on his palms alright I'm just gonna have to call the fire department, it'll be alright he told himself as he gently threaded his fingers back in her hair "Siri, call 911," he said as thankfully his phone had fallen out of the bag because of the impact and the call was made.
"911 what's your emergency?" a dispatcher answered on the second ring.
"Me and my wife were in an accident, a car swerved in front of us from out of nowhere and hit our front end. M-My wife's not responding to me and I can't get her out. I-I need a bus now."
"Yes sir I'll send the fire department and an ambulance right away. Can you tell me where you are?"
"S-Sixty second street, t-the middle of sixty second street."
"Okay I see, can you tell me if your wife is breathing?"
Elliot nodded slightly "s-she's breathing yes just not responding."
"Okay, did she appear to sustain any injuries?"
"I-I feel a knot forming on the back of her head and she has a couple bruises on her face from the airbag b-but other than that I don't think so no."
"Okay good she's probably just in shock, is anyone else injured?"
"I-I don't think so b-but I don't know I'm staying with my wife."
"Yes sir of course, a rescue squad and EMT's are five minutes out, have you tried getting out of the car?"
"I-I just tried to get her seatbelt off her that's it, when I couldn't get it to come off I stopped trying, I'm not gonna leave my wife by herself."
The dispatcher nodded slightly "I understand, are you injured?"
"I-I just have a few scratches and bruises, d-don't worry about me though t-tell them to only worry about Olivia."
"You can figure that out with the EMT's when they get there, they're only about 3 minutes out now just stay on the line sir."
Elliot just gave a slight nod "Olivia, Olivia please wake up baby, please show me you're alright the paramedics will be here soon."
Another minute passed as her eyes opened slightly but not enough for her to focus as she groaned in pain then tried to move as when she couldn't because of the seatbelt she began to panic.
Elliot immediately went back to stroking her hair "shhh, shhh it's alright sweetheart, I promise you you're gonna be alright baby, we were in a car accident and that's why you can't move is because of the seatbelt just try and relax baby."
"E-El? I-Is that you?"
"It's me baby I'm right here," he said softly as the dispatcher was listening "how is she doing?"
"Scared but I think she's alright," he said as despite Olivia's best efforts to fight it a flashback of her being restrained while she was with Lewis overtook her and her body tensed up more, reflexively trying to get free.
Elliot noticed right away "where the hell is the damn rescue squad? She needs to be freed right now she feels trapped like this and it's scaring her."
"They're only a minute away now sir just try and keep her calm until they get there," she said calmly.
Elliot just nodded slightly and positioned himself to where he could look directly into her eyes "Olivia baby your okay, your safe you're not in that car with Lewis, you're hear with me and that bastard is in the CCU where he belongs I promise."
Olivia was fighting hard to come out of it as she could hear Elliot's voice slightly and see his eyes "E-El?" she whispered as she was clearly disoriented.
Elliot nodded slightly "I'm right here baby and the firefighters are on their way, do you feel my fingers in your hair?"
Olivia gave a slight nod and Elliot nodded "just keep focusing on that baby, let them relax you and keep you here in the present with me, I promised you I wasn't leaving your side and I meant it."
Olivia nodded slightly and gave him a small smile "that's it baby, there's your beautiful smile," he said softly.
She smiled a little bigger then began shivering again as she began to start feeling like she was restrained again and teared up slightly "no baby, no no no stay with me honey stay with me, we're in Chicago because Kathleen was dating a guy she shouldn't have been and we went all team Benson and Stabler on his ass."
She shook her head slightly "I'm a Stabler too remember?" she said as she smiled small again.
Elliot smiled "I knew that would do it, I knew you'd correct me," he said as he sighed in relief when he finally heard sirens.
Olivia was quiet for a minute as she focused on Elliot's gentle stroking of her hair "I-I feel like I was punched in the face," she finally whispered.
Elliot nodded slightly "you were honey by the airbag," he said as Olivia nodded slightly "I feel so tired and cold."
He nodded "I know baby," he said softly as she teared up slightly again "shhh, shhh stay with me sweetheart, stay with me," he soothed as her eyes then drifted close again and she was back unconscious just as a firefighter approached the car.
"Sir, I'm Lt. Kelly Severide with Chicago FD I'm gonna get you and your wife out okay!? Can you open the door!?"
"I haven't tried that yet I was trying to keep my wife calm!" he called as he quickly ended the call with 911 then pulled at the handle while continuing to steadily stroke Olivia's hair with his other hand incase she woke up again "the door's stuck!" he said after trying a couple times.
Severide nodded "Cap! Jaws!" he called as they ended up using the jaws of life to open up the car "sir can you tell me what happened?"
Elliot sighed "a car came out from nowhere I-I didn't even see it, Olivia saw it, tried to warn me but I-I didn't have time to react, I-I guess they just hit us and ran."
Kelly nodded his head "you think you can get out on your own?" he asked figuring by Elliot's position in the car and behavior that he wasn't seriously injured.
Elliot nodded "I can but I'm staying right here beside my wife."
"I promise you she's in good hands sir," he said as two paramedics ran over "Dawson Shay I need you guys over here! This woman appears to be unresponsive!"
Soon they were both at the car "this woman looks really sick and I don't think it's from the crash," Shay said as Dawson nodded "sir how long has she been trembling like that?"
"Off and on all day I-I was driving her to the hospital when we recked."
Dawson nodded "since the airbag got her in the face and he told 911 that she had a knot come up on her head lets sea collar her till they can check her neck out at the hospital, Kelly your clear to go ahead and remove the seatbelt, Shay start an IV and sir I need you to move out of the way please," she told Elliot.
"I'm not going anywhere she might wake up again and I promised her I wouldn't leave her side."
Dawson sighed "sir we really need to check you out, you could have a serious injury and just not know it."
Elliot shook his head "I'm fine don't worry about me help her," he said as he still steadily stroked her hair "watch where you touch," he told Severide as he watched him preparing to cut the seatbelt off.
"Don't worry sir I'm only removing the seatbelt," he said as Dawson sighed "sir you're gonna need to stop hovering over top of her and let us work okay? Your wife is safe with us."
Elliot nodded slightly and backed away a little but still continued stroking her hair "okay it's off, lets get the sea collar on her and her on the backboard!" Kelly called.
"I'll help you guys," Elliot said as Severide shook his head "you've gotta step out of the car for this sir, I assure you she'll be safe I'll make sure of it myself."
Elliot just nodded his head slightly as he stepped out and stood right beside the car as Dawson and Severide fitted her with the sea collar "Where should I put the IV Gaby? She doesn't have much open skin showing."
"Put it in her wrist," she said as she sighed "it's 67 degrees outside why would she be covered up this much.."
Shay sighed "if she's got a fever which I think she does she probably did it to keep warm, you know how fever's do people."
Dawson sighed "maybe, or maybe something happened to her you know this is how DV victims dress."
Shay sighed as she finished putting in the IV "I don't think it's that girl I didn't get that vibe off him."
Dawson sighed "yeah neither did I, I got a more protective vibe off him but something's wrong," she said as Cap, one of Severide's firefighters walked over "alright lets lift her on my count, 1,2,3," Severide said as they placed her on the stretcher.
As they rolled it along Elliot caught up with them "I'm right here baby, right here," he said softly just incase she could maybe hear him as he threaded his fingers back into her hair and Dawson reached underneath her shirt to place the cardiac leads on her.
"Careful careful," Elliot said protectively as Dawson sighed slightly "sir this isn't hurting her and she's unconscious anyway," she said.
Elliot just nodded slightly and Cap looked to Severide "there's something wrong with that man he's to protective of her it's a little unsettling."
Kelly sighed "he is being a little extreme about it yes but I think he's just a good husband who loves his wife."
Capp nodded "I hope so," he said as Shay looked to Dawson as they were loading her up "why do you think she's unconscious?"
Dawson sighed "it could be a concussion or it could have something to do with the fever we think she has, I'll check it and try and get some answers from her husband about what symptoms she's been having besides shivering."
"Copy that," Shay said as she closed the ambulances doors and Elliot sat right beside the gurney as he ended up switching hands quickly "well your wife's heart rate is stable and so is her blood pressure," Dawson said relieved "but her fever is," she quickly checked it "105.3, for how long has she been running a fever?"
"S-Since around six last night," Elliot said.
Dawson sighed "have you given her anything for it?"
Elliot nodded "I-I gave her Tylenol then but I was told to wait about giving her anything else when we were heading here my ex wife said the hospital would give her something stronger for it when we got there, s-should I have went ahead and given her more Tylenol?" Elliot asked noticing her looking disapprovingly at him.
Dawson sighed "you should have brought her to the hospital when she began running a high fever, what was her fever at 6 o'clock?"
"102.8," Elliot said as Dawson tried her best to hide a scowl "look I would have taken her I really would have but she didn't want to go she's been through a hell of a lot and I wasn't gonna take that control away from her."
Dawson just nodded tightly "well lets hope you haven't waited to long," she said as she then looked to Shay "have you notified Med that we're coming?"
"I have they're standing by, hey did you hear anything else from your brother?"
Gabby nodded "I did he said they didn't apprehend the hole gang but he's safe and frankly that's all that matters."
Shay nodded "absolutely that unit shouldn't have even been there in the first place."
"Yeah I know but apparently whoever reported the location was unwilling to take it to the right precinct, speaking of precincts I wish Voight wasn't running his."
Shay sighed heavily "girl we've been over this."
"We have and that hasn't changed my opinion he almost killed Casey he should be spending the rest of his life in jail."
"He saved Casey's life too and he helped bring Haily's killer down don't forget that Gabby."
Dawson just sighed as Olivia moaned slightly on the gurney "shhh you're okay sweetheart," Elliot soothed.
"W-Where am I?" she asked weekly "I-I heard voices."
"You're in the ambulance sweetheart we're almost to the hospital," Elliot said as Olivia nodded slightly "sir I need to check her mental status," Dawson said.
Elliot nodded his head and Dawson looked to her "can you tell me your name ma'am?"
"Olivia Stabler," she said.
Dawson nodded "okay Olivia can you tell me what day it is?"
"I-I don't remember," she said.
She nodded "who is our current president?"
"Barack Obama," she said as she yawned slightly "who is that man?" Dawson asked pointing at Elliot.
"That's El," Olivia said as she smiled fondly at him.
Elliot leaned over and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek "is that his whole name?" Dawson asked.
"My full name is Elliot she just calls me El," Elliot said as Dawson frowned "you weren't supposed to answer for her."
"Oh sorry," Elliot said as he looked to Olivia "the police arrested some of the gang members but not all of them so I don't know if they got Brad or not."
Olivia just nodded slightly "your cheek," she said as she noticed a small gash.
"I'm okay baby don't worry," he said as she shook her head and teared up slightly "i-it's bleeding."
Elliot frowned slightly in worry "shhh don't cry honey I'm just fine I promise."
"b-But y-you're bleeding what if you bleed to death?"
"I won't bleed to death baby it's gonna take more than a small gash to do me in I promise."
Olivia just nodded her head warily "pushing 2 milligrams of Versed," Dawson told Shay.
"Copy that," Shay said as Olivia went unconscious again just as they pulled into the ambulance bay "what have we got?" Nurse Maggie Lockwood asked.
"Olivia Stabler, looks to be in her mid 40's, was in a hit and run car accident, in and out of consciousness, temp 105.3 experiencing fever hallucinations, bp 135/97, o2 98%, gave her 2 of Versed right before we got here, left everything else to you guys since we don't know why she's running such a high fever, got her IV in in rout and this is her husband Elliot," Dawson told Maggie.
"I've got her," doctor Stanley Stohl said as Maggie nodded "take her to trauma two and take student doctor Manning with you."
"Copy that," he said as she was then transferred to their gurney "I want a full work up on her so we can get to the bottom of that fever, I also want a CT of her neck to make sure no damage has been done there and I want her gowned too nurse Sexton."
"Copy that," April said as Elliot stayed right with them "sir I'm gonna need you to wait in the waiting room please," Stohl said.
Elliot shook his head "I'm not leaving her side I promised."
"Sir please at least while she's gowned," Manning bargained.
Elliot shook his head "I'll be there especially while she's gowned to make sure you're all gentle with her I'm her husband and nothing is there that I haven't seen before."
Manning went to say something else as Stohl shook his head "we don't have the time to argue with him she's critical, fine you can come with us but stay out of the way," he said as they pushed her gurney forward into the room then did the portable CT scan.
"Her sea spine is clear the sea collar can come off, she'll probably have whiplash from the crash but that's it," Stohl said as Elliot wore a relieved expression "your gonna be fine baby," he said softly as April took it off her gently.
"April can you draw her labs now or do you need her to be gowned first?" Stohl asked.
"She's gotta be gowned there isn't enough skin showing for me to work with."
Stohl nodded as Manning fetched a gown and gave it to April "be gentle with her please," Elliot pleaded from beside the curtain as he was out of the way enough for them to work.
"Sir we will be I promise," April said as her and Natalee worked to get her clothes off "be careful with that arm," April said noticing the cast on her left wrist.
Manning nodded and gently held it still as they removed the shirt then glanced at each other in horror seeing the multiple healing burn wounds on her breasts and stomach "it looks like she has a blood infection in this arm," Stohl said pointing at the large patch of skin on her right arm.
Manning nodded "it looks like cellulitis which got out of hand, have you ever seen a case this bad?"
"No," Stohl said as he frowned "Dr. Stohl? What do you think the golden substance on her arm is?" April asked.
"I haven't got a clue, the question I want answered is how this wasn't noticed sooner this would have been noticeable for a couple days."
"I think the answer is in those," Manning said pointing at the burn wounds "the bastard noticed it but didn't care and didn't wanna be locked up for causing those."
"Oh my god..." Stohl said in horror "he really put her through the ringer. April cover her up, draw her labs then call the police and hospital security."
April frowned "I don't think he did this," she whispered as Elliot finally lost patients with their whispering and their looks "stop gawking at my wife and just take care of her please..."
"We're examining your wife's injuries not gawking at her," Stohl said tightly as Elliot noticed his change in demeanor right away "l-look I know what you're thinking and that's not what happened here I love my wife I'd never hurt her."
Stohl gave him a disgust filled look and April and Manning finished getting the hospital gown on her as as soon as they were finished with that Elliot ran to her bedside "back away sir," Stohl said flatly.
Elliot shook his head "I'm gonna be beside her when she wakes up again I promised."
"Why? So when she wakes up she won't have a chance to tell us how cruel you were to her? How you burned her body repeatedly over and over with god knows what for your sick pleasure?! What in god's name do you think she did to you to deserve that!!?" Manning shouted through tears as she then stormed out of the room disgusted and threw up in to a garbage can.
"S-She didn't do anything, I-I should have been there I-I should have been there I-it was all my fault," Elliot said through tears as Stohl looked to April who had just finished drawing the blood they needed "that sounded like a confession to me, call the police," he said as he then left the room to go find Manning.
April lingered outside the curtain for a minute as she watched Elliot gently holding her hand and stroking her hair he didn't do this I'm setting them straight she decided in her head as she went after Stohl.
"Stanley! Stanley listen to me I really don't think he did it," April said.
"Well if he didn't who did? Because someone did and he didn't bring her in until she was at the brink of death which tells me he's hiding something."
April sighed "he begged us to be gentle with her, he started stroking her hair as soon as you stepped out, people who don't care don't do that."
Stohl sighed "guilty conscience, he did tell us that it was all his fault."
April shook her head "no he said that he should have been there, I think someone else hurt her and that he's been being there for her in the aftermath, that would explain the golden substance on her skin maybe he was trying to treat her arm himself."
Stohl shook his head "that doesn't fit the profile and we can't chance you being wrong about him and sending her back into an abusive situation, either you call the police or I will."
April shook her head "I'm not calling and I'm taking this to Goodwin," she said as she walked off and Stohl sighed heavily as she went.
A few minutes later April, Dr. Stohl and student Dr. Manning found themselves in Sharron Goodwin's office "what's going on guys," she asked through a sigh.
Stohl sighed "I have a patient, Olivia Stabler, I believe she has a severe blood infection from untreated cellulitis, the bloodwork should be back in an hour to confirm but when we went to gown her we found she has a broken wrist that's been casted up and healing burns all over her breasts and stomach, we believe she is a victim of domestic abuse."
"And I don't think her husband did it, he seemed really concerned about her wellbeing, begged for us to be gentle with her while we were gowning her and showed tenderness towards her the moment he could access her bedside," April said.
Goodwin nodded "what is Mrs. Stabler saying?"
"Nothing she's unconscious," Stohl said.
Goodwin nodded her head "I see, when you say untreated cellulitis how long do you think it was left untreated?"
"At least a couple days and her arm is swollen up huge, he had to have noticed it he would have been blind not to plus she had to have been in severe discomfort," Manning said.
Goodwin nodded "are there any signs of restraint marks on her? Anything at all to suggest that she was held against her will and denied medical treatment?"
"No," April said as Stohl shook his head also "even so though with her arm being immobilized like it is the hospital she was treated at would have signed her into his care while she recovered and it would have been his responsibility to take her back if something like this happened."
Goodwin nodded "then at the very least we have him on medical neglect, go ahead and have Earl detain him until the police arrive, I'll call them then call around to some other hospitals in the area, maybe someone will remember them."
April sighed "can't we just let him sit with her instead of involving security? I really think he cares for her a lot and I think it'd be cruel to separate them."
Goodwin shook her head "we need Mrs. Stabler to feel safe telling us if there is abuse taking place when she wakes up , listen April we aren't gonna railroad this man when she wakes up if this has been a big misunderstanding I'm sure she'll tell us and it'll be sorted out but until then we need to be on the safe side."
April just sighed and nodded her head in defeat "thank you Mrs. Goodwin, I really think you made the right call I've never seen injuries that bad on a woman before in my life," Manning said.
Goodwin just nodded her head "you're all dismissed," she said as they left her office. "I-Is she gonna be alright? H-Have you guys figured out what's wrong with her?" Elliot asked April quietly as she put meds through Olivia's IV to lower her fever.
"We have an idea but we can't be 100% sure on anything until the tests come back," she said as Earl, the hospital's head of security walked into the room "sir I'm gonna need you to come with me please."
Elliot shook his head "I'm not going anywhere I promised Liv I'd be beside her when she wakes up and I intend to keep it."
Earl just gave him an unfazed expression "either come with me voluntarily or I'll remove you from the room by force."
Elliot nodded "that's what you'll have to do then because I'm not moving," he said sadly as he steadily stroked Olivia's hair.
Earl sighed and pulled his handcuffs from his belt "please go peacefully Mr. Stabler I know a mistake has been made and I intend to help you but things will look a lot better for you if you don't have to be drug out," April said.
Elliot sighed "if I'm gonna break my promise to her it's not gonna be willingly," he said as he gently kissed Liv's forehead and Earl just nodded, grabbed him by the arm and had to receive help from three other men to drag him out.
"I didn't do it you know, I didn't hurt Olivia," Elliot said through a sigh once he was seated and handcuffed to a table.
"That's what all lowlife abusers like you say when they're finally caught," one of the guards said as Earl sighed "if you didn't do it then who the hell did?"
"William Lewis did," Elliot said calmly.
"I read about that in the papers dumbass it happened in Nu York city to a detective that lives there," a third guard said.
"And we're from there, for god sakes we've only been here for a day we came here to meet the guy that one of my daughters was dating, we were gonna fly home this afternoon at 2 o'clock but Olivia got sicker."
"How are we supposed to know you're telling us the truth? How do we know that you're not just pretending that you guys are that couple to get yourself out of trouble?" Earl asked.
Elliot sighed "I-I can give you my social security number and date of birth, you can take my fingerprints... I-I have nothing to hide I just wanna be with my wife when she wakes up and if I'm not she's gonna be scared."
Earl sighed "we're waiting for the police to get here they'll sort all this mess out then," he said as all but one guard left the room then and Elliot just sighed and tried to make himself comfortable in the hard chair as the cuff was digging into his wrist.
Trauma bay 2, 1:40 AM.
"The results from Mrs. Stabler's labs are back," April told Stohl as she handed them to him then went to turn away, still angry about the way they handled her husband.
Stohl nodded and took them "she has morphine on her tox screen," he said.
"Exactly, does that sound like something an abuser would give her access to?"
Stohl sighed "no but maybe she snuck it?"
"Or maybe the guy was just doing the best he could with what he had, I used a tissue and wiped some of the stuff that was on her arm off so the lab could test it? It was aloveara and antibiotic ointment."
Stohl nodded "that is strange, it obviously didn't work though he had to have noticed that and if he really cared that much about her wellbeing he would have brought her in a lot sooner. Why do you think he wouldn't have brought her in sooner?"
April sighed "I don't know Stanley maybe they don't have insurance..."
He shook his head "I doubt that's the case because they got her arm casted," he said as he then read further down the page "her white blood cell count is extremely high so I'm gonna definitively say that she has an infection in the bloodstream from untreated cellulitis, has it spread at all in the last hour?"
April nodded "about a half inch."
Stohl nodded "lets get some Zozen in her then and maybe it'll start to work, if it doesn't we'll have to give her something stronger. Also call up to the ICU she needs to be moved up there as soon as possible."
"Copy that, can her husband be with her now?"
Stohl sighed "that's up to the police."
April sighed "but he's been sitting in that room for 45 minutes it's not right."
Stohl sighed "it's not our fault that CPD is stretched thin tonight, please go administer the meds nurse Sexton."
"Copy that," she said through a sigh as she went into the room and hung the meds "El, mmm El," Olivia murmured in her sleep.
April stood there for a moment quietly listening "yes El feels so good," she whisper mumbled as she was dreaming.
April smiled to herself hearing that as just when she was about to leave the room Olivia's eyes fluttered open "E-El?"
"Mrs. Stabler? Hi I'm April I'm your nurse I'm glad to see you're with us."
Olivia nodded slightly "a-am I in the hospital?"
April nodded "yes ma'am you are we're giving you meds for your fever and an antibiotic called Zozen to treat you you have an infection in your bloodstream from untreated cellulitis."
Olivia nodded her head slightly "a-am I gonna die?"
"Well right now you are in critical condition but we're gonna do everything we can to make sure that doesn't happen."
Olivia gave a slight nod "w-where's Elliot? Did he step out to stretch his legs? I see you guys didn't give him a chair to sit in," she said frowning disapprovingly.
April shook her head slightly trying to think of what to say as Olivia nodded slightly "will you tell him I'm awake? He'd wanna know that and please let him have a chair. I don't want him to have to stand up all day or sit in the floor."
April sighed "Mrs. Stabler I'm sorry but he's been detained by security he won't be able to come back in here until he's cleared by the police."
Olivia gave her a glare "what? Why would he have been detained I doubt he did anything wrong."
April sighed "some of the staff here were worried about him having possibly abused you plus it took him a really long time to bring you to the hospital."
Olivia nodded as her expression was hard and angry "well he didn't abuse me he's never laid a hand on me and he didn't bring me to the hospital sooner because I didn't want to go."
"But he's your medical proxy and"-
"And it's his responsibility to make sure I get the care I need, I know that and he's done the best he could while still honoring my wishes. I'm an adult not a little girl and I swear he's the only one who sees that I'm capable of making my own decision's!"
"Easy Mrs. Stabler, easy take a breath," April said.
Olivia shook her head "don't tell me to take a breath, relax or calm down, you guys either need to let my husband go now or I'm leaving."
April nodded "I'll try and talk to them okay? In the meantime is there anything at all I can get for you or do for you? Would you like some water maybe?"
Olivia shook her head slightly as her anger was fading and her fear was winning out "I-I just need Elliot t-that's all I need."
April gave her a nod "I can't make you any promises but I'll try and get them to let him go okay?"
Olivia just gave her a slight nod as she glanced around the room "what are you looking for?" April asked.
"M-My phone do you see it?"
April shook her head "I'm sorry I don't."
Olivia just nodded her head slightly and tried to cover herself better with the sheet "here sweetie," April said with a slight smile as she covered her up then stepped out.
Olivia laid there for around 10 minutes or so as she waited for Elliot but the more time that passed the more anxious she became as she finally sighed I'm just gonna find him myself I need him, she decided as she got off of the bed and carefully let the tubing from her IV disconnect from the poll then began walking the halls.
"Elliot! Elliot where are you!?" she called as she walked.
Dr. Stohl saw and heard her as he frowned slightly "Mrs. Stabler you should be in bed you're really sick."
Olivia sighed "as soon as you guys let my husband go I'll lie back down."
Stohl frowned wideyed as Manning walked over to her "listen to me you're safe now, whatever control he had over you before it's gone now."
"For the last time Elliot didn't hurt me! He'd never hurt me!" she snapped as she then walked further while growing weaker "h-have any of you seen my husband Elliot? He's six feet even, he has brown hair, blue eyes and a crucifix tattooed on his right arm," she asked a group of people.
"Sorry," a guy said as a nurse frowned "you really don't look well ma'am lets get you checked out."
Olivia just ignored her and kept walking "ma'am, ma'am!" the nurse called but it was futile as Olivia found a closed door which a security guard was standing in front of right next to the emergency exit "is Elliot Stabler in there?" Olivia asked.
"Ma'am you shouldn't be over here, you can't go in there!" the guard said as Olivia ignored him and used her left hand to open the door "E-El? E-Elliot are you in there?" she asked hesitantly as she noticed that whoever was in there was handcuffed and she wanted to be sure it was him before she went in.
"Let me up, that's Olivia let me up," Elliot said to the guard who was inside the room.
"You're not going anywhere," he said as Olivia had recognized his voice and gone in "E-El what have they done to you? T-They hurt you..." she said tearfully as she looked at his right wrist which was cuffed way to tightly.
"I'm alright baby, I promise you I'm alright it doesn't hurt much," he said softly as he held his left arm out slightly inviting her into it.
"Ma'am we need to get you back in bed," the security guard urged and Olivia shook her head and let herself melt into Elliot's waiting arm "I'll tell you what I told my nurse and the doctors, I'll lie back down when you guys let Elliot go."
The guard just sighed as the one from outside the door walked in "I'm sorry Hue I tried to stop her."
"It's alright Chris, find doctor Charles would you? Or Mrs. Stabler's doctor, I think it's Dr. Stohl," he said as he then looked to Olivia "you are Mrs. Stabler right?"
Olivia nodded "of course I am he wouldn't have his arm wrapped around me if I wasn't, why don't you take that cuff off him? It's hurting his wrist."
Hue just shook his head "not until the police get here and take both of your statements."
Olivia gave him a hard glare and Elliot kissed the side of her head gently "it's fine baby I'll be fine," he whispered softly as he stroked her hair the best he could "did they tell you what's wrong and why your arm swelled up so big?"
She nodded slightly "t-they say I have a blood infection, t-that I'm critical and that it came from cellulitis."
He nodded slightly "why don't you let him help you back to bed then? And I'll be there with you as soon as I can?"
She shook her head "I-I need you with me Elliot, y-you promised me you'd be with me every step of the way remember?"
He nodded slightly "I know I did baby, I-I'm sorry they didn't let me keep that promise."
She shook her head "it's not your fault El, I'm still staying in here though."
Elliot just nodded and kissed the side of her head gently hmm maybe he isn't guilty, Hue thought to himself while observing their interactions as just then Dr. Stohl walked in with April "come on Mrs. Stabler lets get you back in bed," April said softly.
Olivia shook her head and carefully lowered herself to the floor so Elliot could be more comfortable "you were fine honey," he whispered as she shook her head again then looked to Stohl and April "you guys know my conditions I-I'm not leaving this room and getting back in bed until you guys let Elliot go."
Stohl sighed heavily "Mrs. Stabler you could die do you realize that?"
"I won't I've gotten a dose of everything I need the meds you've already given me will keep me going until you guys screw your heads on straight."
Stohl just sighed heavily and nodded in defeat as he and April stepped out slightly so they could talk in private "I would say sedate her and take her back to bed that way but she didn't bring her poll with her and the more I've seen the more I'm starting to think that you were right."
April sighed "I know I was right, you know we're gonna be lucky if the Stabler's don't sue us."
Stohl sighed "there's no grounds for a lawsuit, page Dr. Charles please. Maybe he'll be able to convince her to listen or at the very least we'll get clearance from him to sedate her and resume her treatment."
April just sighed and nodded her head "copy that," she said solemnly as she peaked her head back into the room where Olivia and Elliot were "I'm beginning to think he didn't abuse her," Hue whispered.
April just nodded "I've been saying that since 12:45," she said as she let herself smile small seeing Olivia's head laying comfortably on Elliot's knee.
Hue nodded "I know Sexton," he said as with that she sighed and walked off.
