Gaffney Chicago Medical center, trauma room 2, 6:25 AM.
"Mrs Stabler it's time," Maggie whispered gently to wake her up.
Olivia's eyes opened slightly and she looked at her surroundings "no El's sleeping," she whispered groggily as Elliot was slumped over, his head resting on his left shoulder and he was snoring lightly.
"Mrs. Stabler the quicker we get your labs the quicker we can know if your meds are working correctly and get you up to the ICU."
Olivia said nothing, her facial expression not budging as Elliot's head shot up "w-what's going on?"
"Hi Mr. Stabler, welcome back to the land of the living," Maggie said chuckling attempting to lighten the mood for all of them.
Elliot just chuckled slightly "I didn't mean to fall asleep," he mumbled lowly as his expression then grew serious "please don't tell me you drew her labs without waking me up..."
"She was going to but I wouldn't let her, sorry we woke you up," Olivia said.
Elliot shook his head "quit apologizing to me baby," he said tenderly as he leaned over and gently kissed her cheek "you ready?" he whispered.
"As I'll ever be," she said as she held her arm out for Maggie "w-what time is it anyway?"
"It's 6:28," he said glancing at his watch then stroking her hair "that's a nice Rolex Mr. Stabler where'd you get it?" Maggie asked.
Elliot smiled "Liv got it for me as a Valentine's day gift a couple years ago."
Maggie nodded with a smile "which store did you get it from? My boyfriend has a birthday coming up."
"I-I don't remember off the top of my head right now I'm sorry," Olivia said as she squeezed Elliot's hand a little when the needle eased in.
"Ah that's okay Mrs. Stabler it was just a long-shot, how'd he react to it when he got it?" she asked while drawing the vials as Elliot was stroking her hair and rubbing her knuckles with his thumb.
Olivia chuckled "he thought it was to expensive," she said as Elliot nodded "but he told me he loved it and that he'd never take it off."
Maggie nodded with a smile "well Barry likes expensive things so maybe it'll be up his ally," she said as she gently removed the needle then wrapped Liv's elbow in nonstick gauze "and I'm all done."
Olivia smiled "I really hope it works out for you. Thank you for being gentle with me. I-If I have to have this done again I want you to do it."
Maggie nodded "well I clock out at 7 but anytime I'm here I'll try my best okay?"
Olivia nodded slightly "okay," she said as her phone began ringing "who is it?" she asked Elliot as Maggie left the room.
Elliot glanced at it "it's fin," he said as he then looked her in the eyes "you were really really brave baby."
Olivia smiled slightly "it's easy to be brave when they're gentle with me and treat me like a human being instead of a pincushion."
Elliot nodded "I hear that, I usually let the kids practice on me, get their sticks in but I don't have a problem with needles either."
She nodded slightly "m-maybe one day I'll be better."
"There's no rush honey I mean that my hand will always be there for you to squeeze."
Olivia smiled "that means a lot to me El," she said as her phone then rang again "we better get that."
Elliot nodded "you want me to put it on speaker?"
"Sure," Olivia said as he nodded "Olivia Stabler's phone," he answered.
"Elliot, Elliot it's Fin I just talked to Cragen is Liv gonna be alright?"
"I'm hanging in there Fin," Olivia said and Fin nodded "thank god, thank god baby girl me, Amaro and Cragen are on the next flight out."
"B-But work, what are you guys gonna do about work s-sex crimes don't just stop because I'm sick."
"Me and Nick are still suspended remember? And Cragen's not staying he just convinced Muldrew to run the place for a few hours so he can fly with us and see you."
Olivia nodded slightly "i-it'll be good to see you guys, p-promise me you'll take good care of Izzabella while we're stuck here?"
"I promise you Liv," Amaro said in the background as Fin smiled "Amaro promises. As for me I'll be staying in Chicago with you."
"I-I really appreciate the thought Fin but I don't know how many visitors they'll allow me to have in the ICU."
Fin nodded "probably only one at a time and that's why I'm staying so when Stabler goes somewhere to rest you'll have somebody with you."
Olivia just nodded her head slightly and Elliot leaned into her ear "I won't be going anywhere sweetheart don't worry he just thinks that," he whispered as he stroked her hair "you guys still there?" Fin asked.
"Yeah we're here what time does your flight land?" Elliot asked.
"11 o'clock your time, Cragen gave me your ex wife's number when should I call her?"
"When you land should be fine," Elliot said.
Fin nodded "alright man Liv you okay?"
"Y-Yeah I'm good Fin, we'll see you guys a little later."
"Sounds great Liv you sure you're alright though?"
"Y-Yeah Fin, yeah I'm fine don't worry."
He nodded "alright Liv see ya later," he said hanging up and Elliot looked to her "you're not 100% alright what's wrong?"
Olivia sighed slightly "I don't want there to be any conflicts about you all visiting me a-and he hasn't seen my burns yet a-and"-
Elliot gave her a gentle kiss to stop her rambling "we'll work all that out baby I don't want you worrying about it and as for the burns he won't treat you differently I promise."
Olivia gave a slight nod "E-El my neck hurts."
Elliot nodded "you want me to try and massage it for you?"
Olivia gave a slight nod and Elliot nodded "tell me at any point if something hurts okay?"
Olivia nodded and moved her head slightly to give him better access to her neck as he gently moved her hair out of the way then began carefully massaging it "does this feel okay?" Elliot asked softly after a couple minutes preying he was being gentle enough.
"Mmhmm," Olivia said through a contented sigh as Dorris then walked by to check on them , saw what he was doing and opened the curtain "be careful Mr. Stabler the neck is a very sensitive area and you're a very strong man."
Elliot nodded "I know it is I've done this for her a few times after hard cases, I appreciate your concern though and the moment she asks me to stop I'll stop."
Dorris nodded her head "I saw that your wife had morphine on her tox screen is she due her medication? Because if she's in pain and due her medication we can take care of that for her."
"T-This morning is my last dose of it I think, is that right El?" Olivia asked.
"It is baby, or it's the last dose from your prescription in Nu York they may write you a knew one here."
Olivia frowned slightly "I-I don't want that El I don't want to get addicted to it and have to leave you and go to rehab."
"That won't happen baby you're not that kind of person," he said softly.
Olivia nodded her head slightly "I-I hope you're right El," she said as Dorris just nodded to herself "I'm gonna go speak with Dr. Stohl about getting you something for pain neck massages can be really dangerous if they aren't performed by a masseuse and I assume you aren't one sir?"
Elliot shook his head "I'm not no, how dangerous are we talking though? I mean obviously it could hurt her if I was rough but I'm not I always just use my fingertips."
Dorris sighed "nerve damage is common, I've also heard of people having strokes when they aren't done properly."
"Oh god," Olivia said slightly alarmed as Elliot's massaging had now turned into gentle stroking "okay okay I get it I won't do it anymore can you just not scare Liv anymore? That's the last thing she needs right now."
Dorris nodded "I'll be back in a little bit guys," she said leaving the room and both Liv and El sighed slightly.
"D-Do you think she was telling us the truth?" Olivia asked after a couple minutes.
Elliot sighed "it's possible honey," he said softly as he then leaned down and made eye contact with her "but the fact that we've done it several times with no complications says something too."
Olivia nodded slightly "yeah it does, you wanna stream a movie?"
"Sure is there one in particular that you want to see?"
Olivia shook her head "I just thought it'd be good background noise."
Elliot nodded "yeah probably it'll help us not focus so much on everything going on out there," he said as he picked a movie and put it on.
Olivia ended up dozing off and on throughout the movie as at around 7:15 Dorris had given her morphine which helped with the pain some and at around 8:30 Stohl walked in "I got your wife's lab results back," he told Elliot.
Elliot nodded and once he woke Liv and let her know the doctor was there she rolled over to face him "w-what did the results show?"
"Well the amount of infection in your bloodstream is still extremely high and the cellulitis on your arm hasn't shrank despite two doses of Zozen so my plan for now is to have you sent up to the ICU where a nurse will be posted outside your door constantly and you can be more closely monitored. We're also gonna give you a stronger antibiotic. It's important for you to know you're most likely gonna feel much worse before you begin to feel better and there is a small chance that you won't survive at all."
Olivia teared up slightly and nodded as Elliot gently stroked her hair and kissed her head several times through his tears "I-I'm gonna be right here with you baby, right here I won't leave your side I promise," he whispered as he then looked to Stohl "y-you guys have got to make her better y-you've just got to."
Stohl nodded "we're gonna do everything we can for her sir I promise you that. There are a couple questions that I do need to ask you though as her medical power of attorney."
Elliot nodded slightly and Stohl looked to him "if your wife were to end up in the position where she'd need to be resuscitated do you want us to perform life saving measures?"
"Y-Yes," Olivia said adamantly and Stohl looked to her "I need your husband to answer."
Elliot frowned at Stohl then gave an adamant nod "yes," he said.
Stohl nodded "thank you sir, last question is your wife an organ donor? For just incase the worse happens."
"I-I am yes but only if there's absolutely no hope for me I-I still have a life to live."
Stohl nodded "I promise you we'll do our absolute best for you, again though I need your husband to answer all the questions."
Elliot frowned "this is ridiculous doc Olivia is perfectly capable of answering these questions and we don't talk for each other in situations like this."
Stohl nodded "but you have full medical power of attorney," he said like that explained everything.
Elliot nodded "yes I do but from my understanding she makes her own medical decisions until she's either unconscious or mentally incapable and she's neither of those things."
Stohl frowned "yet a few hours ago you invoked your power and refused her being given a sedative."
Elliot nodded "exactly because in that moment she was mentally incapable. She isn't anymore now are we done arguing about this?"
Stohl nodded his head "a nurse will be here to move you shortly ma'am," he said as he left the room and Olivia and Elliot again sighed in unison.
"What the hell is his problem? H-Has he already thrown in the towel when it comes to saving me?" Olivia finally asked.
Elliot sighed "I don't know baby I really don't I know he doesn't like the decisions we made so far so maybe that was his way of being an ass about it?"
She nodded slightly "c-could be," she said as his phone began ringing who now? he thought to himself as he then sighed heavily when he read the caller ID.
"Who is it?" Olivia asked.
"Kathy," Elliot said through a sigh as he turned back to face her "I don't have to answer it."
"I-It's okay El she's probably just concerned," Olivia said as Elliot sighed heavily "yeah you're probably right," he said as he grabbed it "Stabler," he answered as he put it on speaker.
"Hi Elliot how is Olivia doing?" Kathy asked.
"I'm hanging in there Kathy thank you for asking," Olivia said.
Kathy smiled slightly "I'm glad to hear that although I didn't know your name was Elliot," she said in a chuckle.
"Oh I'm sorry I"- Olivia said as Elliot shook his head slightly "some of our good friends will be landing soon and they'll get Izzabella from you. They're gonna call you has she been good for you?"
"She has, it took her a while to fall back asleep but she finally did and she's sleeping now."
Elliot nodded "I'm glad to hear that," he said relieved.
Kathy nodded "Lizzie said she can't have milk is that true?"
Elliot nodded "yeah she's lactose intolerant."
"That's really good to know, hey Elliot I'm gonna get a cab up to the hospital later is there any way that you can maybe meet me in the lobby and give me the keys to the rental car?"
"I'm sorry but that won't be possible Kath."
"Why not? It's only to the lobby," she said as she then sighed "fine I suppose I can come to the room but you'll have to give me the room number."
Elliot sighed "you're not understanding the car is totaled Kathy nobody'll be driving it anywhere."
"Oh my god how'd that happen?"
"A car swerved in front of us from out of nowhere. It was probably some drunk idiot."
Kathy nodded "yeah probably, listen Elliot at some point we really need to talk about how you treated Jim."
"How he treated Jim? No how about we talk about how Jim treated Elliot," Olivia said through a glare as her heart rate sped up slightly and it showed on her monitors.
"Stay out of this Olivia it isn't your business," Kathy cautioned as Elliot then glared too "you know what Kathy? Olivia hit the nail square on the head and this is her business because she heard every bit of that conversation. That being said though this conversation is causing her unnecessary stress and I'm done having it. She needs to be calm for when they move her to the ICU."
Kathy sighed "I put everything aside yesterday because she was sick but I'm going back to Florida today and we have to discuss it."
Elliot sighed angrily "fine you wanna discuss it I'll discuss it, everything I said to him I meant it, I don't regret it, I'm not sorry and I'd say it all again. There you go I've discussed it. Thank you for looking out for Izzabella for us that means more to us than I can put into words. I'll add you into our group chat with Liv's coworkers so you can get updates on her condition that way," as at that exact moment Dorris walked into the room "I have to go Kathy," Elliot said hanging up quickly and glancing at Dorris.
"Umm sorry to interrupt but it's time to get your wife moved upstairs," Dorris said quietly.
"It's not a problem," Elliot said as he helped Dorris move her over to the gurney "I could have walked you know," Olivia said through a small sigh.
"I know you could've but you're in critical condition baby it's best that we humor them on this, pick our battles," he said as he whispered the last part in her ear then winked at her.
Olivia smiled "mmm yes because I get my snuggle buddy back when we get there which is totally against the rules?" she whispered.
"Exactly," he whispered giving her a gentle kiss on the temple as he then made sure her burns were fully covered and he and Dorris rolled her out.
"This is so strange being laying down in an elevator," Olivia said as Dorris pushed the button to go up to the second floor.
Elliot nodded "trust me doing it with no site was worse."
Olivia nodded slightly "I know it was El I'm still so sorry he did that to you."
Elliot gently stroked her hair "I'm just glad it wasn't you baby. I would have supported you and taken care of you just like you did for me but"-
"I-I get it," she whispered as just then the elevator door opened "the ICU waiting room is that way Mr. Stabler you'll be able to see her again at 11 o'clock," Dorris said pointing.
Elliot shook his head "I appreciate you showing me where it is but I'm not leaving Olivia's side I made her a promise and I intend to keep it."
"I'm sorry Mr. Stabler but this part of the hospital only allows visitors at certain times of the day it's so doctors and nurses have easier access in and out."
"y-You guys should have told me this before if I had known this was your rule here I wouldn't have let you move me," Olivia said.
Dorris sighed "all ICU's are this way Mrs. Stabler it shouldn't be anything new to you," she said as Elliot just stroked Olivia's hair.
Olivia let her head lean into Elliot's touch for a minute savoring the feel of it as she then glanced up at Dorris "f-fine," she said simply as she did her best to appear stoic.
Dorris just nodded and moved the gurney out of the elevator "baby I'm sorry, so so sorry," Elliot whispered as he was walking along side her as far as he could.
Olivia shook her head "don't blame yourself El y-you're not breaking your promise willingly these people here are just"-
Elliot nodded doing his best to mask his anger "believe me I know and I promise you I'm gonna fix this."
"I-I know you will. C-Can I have my phone?"
Elliot quickly grabbed it from her bag and laid it on the gurney "you can't go any further than this Mr. Stabler," Dorris said.
Elliot gave Dorris a glare "you know you guys are really picking the wrong fucking battles right?"
Dorris shook her head "I'm just following the rules sir that's all."
Elliot just gave her an emotionless nod as he then leaned to speak in Olivia's ear "your phone's at 53% and mine's at 28. I've got a plan baby just hang in there for a few minutes I'll be back with you soon."
She nodded slightly "w-what are you gonna do?"
Elliot sighed "Well I was unlawfully detained for two hours and my wrist was injured during that time. I really think that the hospital would hate it if that got out," he whispered as he then kissed her gently "I love you baby, my phone is on my hip," he said as he walked straight towards the elevator.
Dorris frowned slightly as she wheeled Olivia into her new room "where'd he go? I figured he'd glue himself into one of the waiting room chairs and stare at the clock."
Olivia just shrugged and cashed in her slotomania points "ah you have that game too? I love that game," Dorris said.
Olivia just nodded and yawned "it was the cure to my boredom while I was recovering from labor."
Dorris nodded and smiled as her and another female nurse transferred her to her knew bed "seriously though where'd he go?"
Olivia just gave her a small smile "wives never tell their husbands secrets."
"So you know where he went?"
Olivia nodded "mmhmm," she said as she found a video on her phone of her, Elliot and Izzabella at the park together, turned it on and began to watch.
Dorris left the ICU room to head back downstairs as the nurse who was still there looked to her "Mrs. Stabler can I get your attention for a minute?"
Olivia said nothing as she had herself so entranced in the video that she didn't hear her and the nurse just sighed slightly, left the room and took her seat outside of Olivia's door keeping a close eye on her vital signs.
About 20 minutes later Olivia's phone dinged as she woke from the light sleep she had fallen into while watching the video as she smiled when she saw it was from Elliot on my way back to you now baby it read.
Olivia sent him a smiling face emoji along with a relieved emoji as she then heard a woman talking to a nurse outside of her room "Mr. Stabler is on his way back up here now and you guys aren't permitted to make him leave the room under any circumstances," she said as her tone was almost desperate.
"But the rule up here is"-
"I know what our rules are but he's threatened to sue the entire hospital and me personally for slander and have our security staff prosecuted for false imprisonment and assault."
"But you guys thought he abused his wife you were all only doing your jobs."
Goodwin nodded "yes but securities mistake was not verifying his identity when he offered to give us his ID and fingerprints so unfortunately that's all the grounds he needs to maybe make something stick and with him being retired law enforcement I believe he has the resources to pull it off."
The nurse sighed "that's still blackmail
though."
Goodwin sighed "maybe it is but we did do the man wrong and the truth is he could sue us regardless of this and there'd be nothing I could do about it so just leave it be Anny, it'll be easier for all of us," she said as Olivia then heard the curtain to her room slide open then she felt warm gentle fingers in her hair and she smiled "El you're back," she said relieved.
Elliot nodded "sure am sweetheart and to stay too," he said softly as he cradled her head in his hand gently for a minute then got onto the bed and pulled her into his arms gently like he had told her he'd do before.
Olivia smiled and her head immediately found it's spot on his chest "I knew you had a plan but I didn't know you were gonna blackmail the chief administrator of the hospital," she whispered.
Elliot chuckled slightly "I don't think blackmail is the right word for what I did baby I just explained to her that a good case could be made against her and the hospital in court for slandering me and that I'd be willing to let it go if she just bent this one rule. It only took her a few minutes to fold."
Olivia nodded slightly and yawned "did you use your perp face?"
Elliot smiled "course I did. Get some sleep baby I won't be going anywhere I took care of everything I needed to before I came back."
Olivia nodded and was out like a light within two seconds and Elliot followed as they both slept so deeply that nurses walking in and out to hang meds didn't even faze them.
ICU room 23-31, 11:25 AM.
Fin stepped into the ICU room relieved that they had managed to make it there during a visiting hour as he smiled when he saw Liv and El sleeping cuddled up together but frowned when he got a closer look at their faces as Olivia's was extremely pale and Elliot's looked like it had aged 15 years or more from exhaustion and worry.
I really wish there was something I could do for them, a way I could lighten Elliot's load just a little Fin thought to himself as he then noticed Olivia's eyes open slightly as her face grew even paler.
"Liv, Liv hey baby girl it's me. It's Fin you feeling alright? Do you need a doctor?" he asked quietly in an attempt not to wake Elliot.
"I-I'm fine I-it's good to see you here although I'm surprised they let you in," she whispered.
Fin chuckled "they wouldn't have but it's visiting hour, Cragen and Amaro are here too they wanna see you too."
She nodded slightly "okay but you all have to be quiet El's sleeping and I don't wanna wake him," she whispered.
Fin chuckled slightly and nodded "you guys are cute cuddlers you know that?"
Olivia blushed slightly and Fin just smiled as a couple minutes later Cragen and Amaro came in "hi Liv," Nick said quietly.
"Hey," Olivia whispered as she gave them small smiles "it's good to see you guys."
Cragen smiled slightly "you knew I'd find a way to get here. Is Elliot taking good care of you?"
"The best," Olivia whispered as Cragen smiled "I'm glad to hear it."
Olivia just gave them all a small smile as Amaro noticed a small blood stain on her gown and discreetly showed Fin who gave a slight nod "what are you guys up to?" Olivia asked.
"Beats me," Cragen said shrugging as Fin tapped Elliot's shoulder and Olivia frowned "let him sleep Fin," she whispered.
Fin didn't say anything as Elliot's eyes slightly opened "sorry El," Olivia said through a sigh.
Elliot shook his head slightly and stroked her hair as Fin caught his gaze then quickly pointed at the bloodstain as Elliot just nodded to him and kissed Olivia's head.
"What's up with you guys?" Olivia asked perplexed.
"Everything's fine baby," Elliot said softly as he gently covered the bloodstain with the sheet not wanting her to be embarrassed that everyone saw it "how long have you all been here?"
"About 5 minutes did you sleep well?" Cragen asked.
Elliot nodded "okay for an ICU room how was your flight in?"
"It was as okay as coach flights can be," Cragen said as his expression turned serious when he glanced back at Liv "Olivia what's your prognosis?" he asked softly.
Olivia sighed "t-they're doing everything they can for me but it's touch and go they asked me if I'd want life saving measures if it came to that."
Cragen nodded grimly "what did you tell them?"
"I-I told them yes that I still have a life to live."
Cragen smiled and nodded "I'm glad to see that you've still got some of that badass Benson in there," Fin said.
Olivia nodded and smiled slightly "always, I might be down but I'm not out."
Cragen smiled slightly and nodded "you keep keeping your spirits up okay?" he said as he walked to the side of her bed and gently kissed her temple "you're like the daughter I never got to have," he whispered.
Olivia teared up slightly moved by his statement "a-and you're like the father I never got to have," she whispered as Elliot, Nick and Fin all felt like they were intruding on a private moment.
Just then at the worse possible time Cragen's work phone began to ring as he sighed slightly and quickly wiped at his eyes with the back of his hand "Jon wanted me to tell you that he's really sorry he couldn't make it and for what it's worth Rollins really hopes that you feel better soon, I love you Olivia," he said as he then quickly left the room to take his call.
"I-I love you too," she said as she sighed heavily when she realized he was already gone and didn't hear her as she worked hard to hold in her tears "lets give them a minute," Fin whispered to Amaro as they both quietly left the room and Fin informed the nurse that Olivia would need a pad.
Once they were both out of the room Elliot silently helped her bury her head face down onto his chest "w-w-why did that just feel like a goodbye?" she asked through her sobs.
Elliot stroked her hair and rubbed her back gently "it wasn't a goodbye baby, it wasn't a goodbye it was just a just in case."
"B-But h-he thinks I-I'm gonna die t-that hurts."
"I know baby, I know it does you're gonna prove anybody who thinks that wrong though I promise you that and I haven't given up on you."
She nodded slightly "I-I know you haven't," she said as as her tears were drying the nurse stepped into the room "hi Mrs. Stabler I'm here to help you put this on would you like some privacy for it?" she asked as she showed her the pad.
"H-Have I started? I didn't notice," she said surprised.
The nurse nodded "your friend noticed and brought it to my attention," she said as Elliot sighed "I was gonna try and help her a bit later I didn't want her to be embarrassed."
The nurse just nodded "well there's no need to be embarrassed ma'am these kinds of things are what I'm here for. Sir could you step out please? Just into the hall until we're finished here?"
Elliot carefully moved off the bed and looked to Olivia "it's up to you honey whatever makes you the most comfortable is what I wanna do."
"C-Can you stay in here but just turn around?" she asked after a minute of thinking through her options.
"Of course honey," he said as as the nurse worked she started to become frustrated when Olivia's arms would instinctively try and move to help "hold still Mrs. Stabler," she said through a sigh.
"I-I'm just trying to raise my body up a little to make it easier for you. Why don't you just let me stand that'll be much easier than this."
She shook her head "you're to sick to move off of this bed, just lie still and let me do my job."
Olivia just sighed slightly and nodded as she now felt like an invalid more than ever before as when the nurse finally finished and left the room she covered herself in the sheet and rolled over in the bed, her back facing the door "y-you can turn around now El," she finally said.
Elliot, who had been silently frowning nodded and slowly turned around seeing she was now fully covered and facing away from him "you okay Liv?" he asked softly.
Olivia sighed slightly and shook her head "no El, no I'm humiliated she treated me like I was incapable of doing anything for myself at all."
Elliot nodded "I'm sorry baby I would have said something to her but I didn't wanna make the situation worse for you and I didn't wanna look when you had asked me to turn around."
Olivia nodded "I understand El believe me I do none of this is your fault."
He nodded slightly and gently kissed her temple "Liv I'm sorry I brought you to this hospital honey I know it's been nothing but a bad experience."
She nodded slightly "it has been pretty bad," she said as she finally rolled back over to face him "but it would have been this way no matter where we went and we have met several good people."
Elliot nodded "good point baby," he said as Fin and Amaro walked back in causing Anny to peak her head in "you all have ten minutes then everyone besides Elliot Stabler will have to head to the waiting room until 5 o'clock."
"We understand," Amaro said as Fin looked at her "if I can convince Elliot to go to the motel and get some sleep later can I take his place in here until he's back?"
Anny sighed "I suppose you can yes but after all the trouble he caused downstairs to get to stay in here permanently I really don't think he'll be leaving."
"Elliot? Trouble? Nah," Fin said as he chuckled sarcastically.
"Oh he definitely caused a scene, press the call button if you need me Mrs. Stabler," Anny said as she then quickly left and Fin faced Elliot "what'd you do this time Stabler?"
"What I needed too to keep my promise," he said as all the sudden Olivia shot straight up in the bed "easy Liv easy what's wrong?" Amaro asked.
"Bucket, I-I need a bucket," she said as Fin quickly grabbed the garbage can that was in the room and passed it to Amaro who wordlessly held it for her while she threw up into it as Elliot got behind her, gently holding her hair out of her face for her and stroking her back.
A minute later found Olivia attempting to stop herself as Fin had pressed the call button causing Anny to rush in "don't fight it baby let it all come out we're all right here," Elliot soothed.
Olivia's body trembled as she vomited for a couple minutes more then dry heaved "w-why is this happening?" Elliot asked the nurse as he continued soothing Olivia with his hands.
"Most likely it's a symptom of her fever and also of the infection in her bloodstream. The antibiotic she was given earlier was really strong too and I know she never had breakfast."
"I-I'm not hungry," Olivia said weakly and Elliot nodded "I know you're not sweetheart it's okay. Are you still nauseous?"
Olivia nodded slightly and Elliot looked to Anny "please give her something for it. Some Zofran maybe?"
"I'll get it cleared by a doctor," she said as she rushed out "guys are you sure you don't want Izzabella to come in? You know just in case god for bid?" Amaro asked.
Olivia shook her head "s-seeing me like this would just scar her for life I-I'm gonna get through this."
Amaro glanced to Elliot and he nodded "it's Liv's decision and frankly I agree with her because if Izzabella comes in here she's gonna end up upset and we can't deal with that right now."
Amaro just gave a slight nod "I get it," he said as he looked to Elliot "c-can I hug her man?"
"Of course," Elliot said as he stepped away from the bed slightly so he could get through and Amaro pulled her still trembling body into a gentle hug "you keep fighting Liv and staying strong if anybody can get through this it's you partner."
"I-I'm gonna try my best Nick I promise you that I have a date planned on the 26th that I'm determined to make it to."
"Oh you do do you?"
She nodded "mmhmm El's gonna take me dancing and motorcycle riding."
Nick smiled "I didn't know you were a fan of motorcycles?"
Olivia just smiled "there's a lot you don't know about me Amaro."
Clearly he thought to himself as he just smiled "I want you to know your daughter will be completely safe with me while you guys are here you have a lot of worries on your plate right now and I don't want wether she's safe or not being one of them," he said as her cellphone began to ring.
Olivia nodded "I won't be able to just cut off my worry for her and neither will El she's our little girl but we do trust you with her and I'm glad you'll be the one looking after her while we can't," she said, her expression sincere.
Amaro nodded "it's the least I can do Liv really."
Olivia just gave him a slight smile as her eyes fought to stay open and Amaro noticed, giving her a final gentle squeeze of the shoulder then stepping out "do you think she's gonna make it Nick?" Fin asked as 1 stubborn tear fell from his eye.
Amaro sighed "god I don't know Fin if anybody can it's her but..."
Fin just nodded "I'm gonna be staying in the waiting room so I can be with her during visiting hours and when Elliot leaves I don't want her to be alone at all during this."
Amaro nodded slightly "do you really think Elliot will leave?"
Fin sighed "he'll have to at some point to shower and sleep Nick he has to take care of himself too."
Amaro nodded "good luck getting him to do that I think it'll be an uphill battle."
Fin just gave him a knowing nod "I'll keep you updated Nick," he said with a grim expression.
Amaro nodded "thanks Fin, do you know where Cragen went?"
Fin sighed "out to the car he had to take a zoom call from the police commissioner."
Amaro just nodded slightly , turned away and walked off as Fin watched a tear stream down his cheek as he went then turned to face Olivia's room and smiled slightly seeing Elliot running his fingers through Liv's hair gently she's got a hard battle ahead of her but she's got all the love in the world she'll make it through, he told himself as with that thought he showed himself to the waiting room and had a seat.
