The sky cleared as the Dragon Balls rose high into the sky and vanished. Shénlóng had granted all three of their wishes, and the Dragon Balls scattered across the planet once again. Erasa frowned; she'd loaned the One-Star Ball to Bulma some weeks prior, with a vague assurance she'd receive it back in due time. The woman would have to find it again and restore it to the shrine in Satan City. If we make it out of this alive, anyway...
"Where...am I?" repeated Gine. The Saiyan woman, completely oblivious to her bare form, looked at the strange group of individuals she found herself surrounded by. Perhaps the most unusual sensation, however, was...the sensation of everything. Last she remembered, she was in Heaven, and thus, lacked a body, or any true discernible features. People who died didn't keep their bodies, except in special circumstances, and Gine hadn't been an exception. So she'd spent the past few decades as a disembodied soul. To be able to feel the ground beneath her hands and feet, feel the wind on her skin and face, and to be able to see and hear as clearly as she did. Her tail twitched.
"Am...I alive?" She asked.
It was Piccolo who spoke first. "That's correct. You're on a planet called 'Earth', 151 light years from your old planet Vegeta. More than a fair distance away."
"Earth..." Gine muttered. The name 'Earth' sounded familiar, like she'd heard of the planet years ago. Earth...where have I heard that name...?
"I've programmed his destination as 'Earth', a planet far from here.
They've got a lot of food, but the race inhabiting it, and its resources are not of much value, so it's not particularly well-known.
It's exactly what we need."
She'd said that to Bardock when she sent her three-year old son away from planet Vegeta prior to Freeza's attack. Her son...that little boy... Gine's mind filled with thoughts of a child with unruly, spiky hair that shot off in all directions, floating inside an incubation chamber. The son she never got to interact with enough. Her youngest child.
"Kakarrot!" She suddenly shouted, standing to her feet — revealing a very unimpressive height that left her barely level with Videl — her tail frantically whipping about. "You said this is Earth, correct? Where is Kakarrot?!" Still unaware of her current state of dress, the Saiyan woman looked around frantically, as if her son would materialise out of thin air if she investigated hard enough.
"Um...before we answer anything, Piccolo, can you provide her with some clothes?" interjected a crimson faced Videl. "We're in the middle of a stadium, there are people watching, and this lady doesn't seem to be aware that she's not wearing a thing." Her hands were covering Trunks' eyes, who was himself similarly flushed.
"I agree," said Erasa. "It's a bit embarrassing, because you know the crowd is looking, but you don't know who or how many."
"You Earthlings never cease to bewilder me," Piccolo replied, but nonetheless consented. He walked over to Gine and raised a hand over her head. "You'll get your answers in a minute, but this lot thinks you should wear something. I don't make Saiyan clothing on principle, but—" His hands flashed, and the light clung to Gine's body. It shimmered brightly until it formed a suitable outfit; the attire was a two-piece that resembled a cheongsam, the sleeveless dress-like top was purple in hue, with red lining, and beneath it was a light blue undershirt. The pants matched the vest, and the boots were dark black. Gine's tail poked out from under the dress. "Your son's wife wears clothing similar to these. This is the extent of my knowledge of Earthling fashion."
Gine glanced at the outfit, perhaps being the first thing to distract her even briefly. Saiyans weren't a species known for shame, so they didn't often care whether they were clothed or not — the Combat Jackets worn by their kind were an invention of Freeza's army, and had merely been adopted by the Saiyan species when they were conscripted. Gine vaguely remembered simpler clothes before their indoctrination by Freeza, but the fact of the matter is, Saiyan's didn't possess 'shame' in the same sense that Earthlings did.
The woman looked up around one more time, and her mind processing everything properly now. and her eyes fell on two men with the hairstyle that she recognised so completely. It was her husbands' unique shock of black hair, and she'd recognise it anyway. Deftly, the woman leapt from her spot, her new outfit fluttering in the wind, landing directly in front of Gokū and Goten. She leaned inward, peering directly into the face of her youngest son and grandson, her shining eyes wide. She walked around the two of them, as if analysing them, blinking rapidly.
"You two...look just like my Kakarrot...you don't have tails, but that hair is unmistakable..." Her voice was cracking, the woman's onyx eyes shimmering with moisture. Gine turned directly towards Gokū, smiling weakly. "It's you, isn't it? You're my Kakarrot."
Beerus let out a very pronounced groan. "What am I tolerating here, Whis?"
Whis smiled, before replying. "I believe the humans call this 'maternal affection', my lord."
"And from a Saiyan no less," muttered Beerus. "It's no wonder she wound up in Heaven at least. Certainly isn't something you see every day."
Gokū scratched his cheek, grinning in his usual carefree way. "Kakarrot, eh? Well, Vegeta an' the others certainly called me that, but I'm Son Gokū here. Feels a bit odd to hear that name after so long."
Gine shook her head. "Whatever you call yourself, you'll always be 'Kakarrot' to me. I picked that name out myself." She walked over and wrapped her arms around Gokū's waist, pulling her son into an embrace. "You're alive...we made the right decision, sending you off to Earth." The Saiyan woman looked up at Gokū, the tears finally beginning to fully form, unable to stem their flow. "You must've thought we abandoned you, Kakarrot...when Bardock and I sent you to Earth...but you look so strong! And so much like your father!"
"Well, I dunno about the 'alive' part," Gokū gestured easily to his head, bringing to Gine's attention the halo that rested above it. "I haven't been alive in ages!"
Gine's eyes widened. "What happened, Kakarrot?!"
It was true to the measure of how long Gine has been dead that it took a good fifteen minutes to provide Gine with a succinct summary of Gokū's exploits. From his meeting to Bulma, to current day, Gokū tried to provide his mother — aided by Bulma and Piccolo when details were forgotten — some sort of understanding of what she'd missed during his stay in the Afterworld. Gine was a suitable audience, providing gasps and cheers for her son in all of the right moments, but by the end, her face had fallen when the reality of the situation hit her.
Despite her and Bardock's best efforts, her two sons had wound up dead.
"Raditz...and you, Kakarrot..." The flow of Gine's tears hadn't stopped; if anything, the flow had worsened. "Bardock and I...only wished for you two to live on...but you both wound up dying anyway...so everything we did was pointless...?"
Gohan stepped forward, a deep-set frown on his face. "Grandmother, I wouldn't go that far. Father's presence here has been far from pointless. It's only because you sent him here in the first place that he was able to bring us all together." He smiled, and gestured to everyone that surrounded Gine. "Father's saved the world countless times, and honestly, just by existing, he inspires us. We wouldn't exist without him here, now. He's become synonymous with hope."
"I have to say, if your son hadn't come here, we'd all be very different people," added Tenshinhan.
Bulma placed her bandaged hand onto Gokū's shoulder. "He's a bit thickheaded, but he always came through when we needed him. He may not have lived as long as you wanted him to, but — at the risk of sounding like a broken record — as the person here who knew him the longest, we wouldn't be here without him."
"I'm...a bit overwhelmed. To be honest I'm just," Rubbing her hands together, her tail swaying from side to side behind her as her lips trembled and her eyes stared listlessly at the floor. "Everything you told me, about what happened to my family after Bardock and I were...gone...it's just...so terribly sad. That in the end, everything I've done to keep my children safe ended in one of them killing the other, and the youngest perishing just so his family can live while he couldn't. If...if such a reunion was to take place I...I didn't," She tries to hold back tears, but fails to as her eyes looked up at the messy haired man whose halo-adorned head stood above her in a bitter reminder. "I didn't want to see you just so I'd have to say goodbye to you again!"
Gokū smiled lopsidedly.
"Hey, come on. Don't be like that," The youngest son reached out, resting his hand on her head in a characteristic sign of him showing affection. While he spoke more softly than anyone present was used to, he still had a smile that was pervasive of his character. Showing his teeth, he enthusiastically provided her good news. "I always wanted to know what my mother was like, and I'm just happy to know where I got my soft side from!" He chuckled in his casual way. "I may not have been thrilled to find out I was a Saiyan but without you and dad, I wouldn't have gotten the chance to meet all of these wonderful people in my life. Chi-Chi, Gohan, Goten, and now Erasa and Pen. If you really think about it, you may have to say goodbye to me, but you got a lot of company to never leave you alone. So don't worry about it. Keep your chin up, you'll see it isn't so bad without me!"
It wasn't something that Gine wanted to accept. To be brought back to life, only to be denied both of her sons. But Kakarrot is taking it in stride...and he's really done so much for this world, hasn't he? Gine wiped the tears from her eyes, an effort that took a considerable amount of work, given just how long she'd been crying. "Look at me...if you're father were here, he'd be telling me off for wasting so much time crying." She giggled, her voice hiccuping still, and then Gine's face broke into a true smile. "But you've really made something here...and such a big family! I have grandsons!" Gine knelt down to her knees, beaming at the sight of Pen. "And a great-granddaughter! I never thought I'd be able to see something like this!"
"You're another grandma?" asked Pen inquisitively. "I don't know you! But you look nice!"
Gine giggled. "Do I now? And you're absolutely precious." Running her hand through the girl's hair, she smiled. "Your hair is so light, I wouldn't know you were a Saiyan. We all have black hair." She glanced up at Erasa. "You're said you were her mother, right? You and Gohan have a fantastic child." It was Goten's turn next, with Gine still being shocked just how much like Bardock he looked. "Goten...you look just like your father and grandfather...you remind me of him during his younger days!"
Pointedly, Whis cleared his throat. The group, lost in their reverie, glanced at the blue-skinned man. He pointed to Beerus, whose expression was growing steadily more impatient as the absolute limits of his tolerance were being reached. "May I suggest you expedite the creation of the Super Saiyan God? Lord Beerus granted you this extra time for that purpose — he isn't a man known for patience, so I recommend you make haste."
"Super Saiyan God?" inquired the crouched Gine. "I've heard of a Super Saiyan before...if only in passing. Some of the soldiers were talking about it back on Vegeta."
"To be honest, we still have no idea what it is either," Gohan said. He went into the explanation Shénlóng had given them about the Super Saiyan God — its role in Saiyan history repeated almost verbatim by Gohan to his grandmother — and he ended by adding Beerus' little caveat. "If Lord Beerus isn't presented with this 'Super Saiyan God', he'll simply destroy Earth, and all of us, and be on his way."
The statement was followed an audible gasp from Gine, who looked visibly shocked. It made sense that they would revive her for the sake of fulfilling the ritual, but hearing that a "Hakaishin" was something that not only excited, but would consider destroying a planet over such a petty reason. Regardless, it all sounded like the sooner they did this, the better off her family would be. Her face affixed with a determined expression, Gine nodded.
Six Saiyans.
Previously, this would be unheard of. To the tyrant Freeza, who had destroyed the species, only aware of the three he spared, that idea of this sort of multitude was ludicrous. To Freeza, who had been unaware of the Dragon Balls before the events that transpired on Namek, the idea of the revival of a Saiyan would have been the thing of nightmares, to keep him awake at night, bursting into a cold sweat. Yet here they stood, in a circular formation around Gohan, their hands linked, channeling their ki into the man who would become their saviour.
"I never thought I'd see you become a god," Gokū grinned at his son, who stood unchained to any of them within the centre of the circle. "You always manage to impress me, son, but this'll be somethin' else entirely!"
"Aren't you interested in becoming a god, Dad?" asked Goten, glancing at his father from his spot in the circle. "You're always aiming higher, aren't you?"
"Yeah, but not this way," Gokū replied. "I've never been one to rely on power I get from others, y'know? This isn't my style! But Gohan's better about this sorta thing than I am."
The combined auras of the five Saiyans that surrounded Gohan erupted in a flurry of white ki, ranging from little Pen, who barely reached her uncle's knees, to Gokū, who the tallest out of the lot. It encircled them all, acting almost like a protecting flame. Gohan, within the centre, could only watch as their ki began to mix and mingle, and he could begin to feel something inside his stomach — the core of ki — begin to fill. The white flashed brightly, shifting from its vibrant hue to a blazing gold; Gokū, Goten, and Trunks had all transformed into a Super Saiyan. Shockingly, Pen and Gine followed suit, an unconscious, forced transformation, with their hair becoming the rigid gold of a Super Saiyan, and their eyes the burning emerald. Between them all, Gohan knew he had transformed too, his hair the white-gold of his Super Saiyan form. The group began to lift from the ground, the golden conflagration around them beginning to spiral in the form of a burning sphere of ki.
And then followed a change that none of them expected. Emanating from every Saiyan was a striking blue flame. It clashed spectacularly with the golden fire of the Super Saiyan aura, and it took everyone present in the ritual by surprise. The blue flames swallowed the group, replacing their golden auras completely, until all six individuals gave off the blue radiance. Gohan felt the changes taking place here now more than ever; this blue fire concentrated itself on Gohan, who began to rise away from the group. Their Super Saiyan auras petered out, his family and friends returning to base state as Gohan's body was lifted from them. The blue light pulsated, giving off the appearance of a beating heart; its blue luminescence traveled across the entire stadium.
"Is this...?!" Piccolo gasped, his eyes taking in the sight with amazement. Whis and Beerus observed carefully, but their faces betrayed nothing. To a god, there were matters they understood simply based on sight.
Within the palpitating blaze that encompassed Gohan in its entirety, the man felt his body lifted into a state of euphoria. It was a feeling unlike anything he'd experienced previously; sensations he hadn't imagined were washing over him, and he began to experience the world anew. The man felt something — a presence? — within their proximity, yet it didn't feel threatening. With this ascension, years of regret seemed to be washed away. Someone that no one knew had achieved peace. The azure flames swirled and dissipated, rising into the air to give the entire stadium a view of Son Gohan.
He was starkly different. His hair, which had been the brilliant white-gold that was associated with his Super Saiyan state, had changed entirely. It was now a deep shade of red, and his eyes, wide and calm, unlike the fierce stare he often affixed foes with, were an even brighter red hue, his pupils large. His skin was equally tinged with red, and, much to the surprise of Gohan's friends and family, he'd lost a decent amount of muscle mass, and now possessed a much thinner frame.
Gohan glanced at his hands, clenching them tightly into fists. "This...is Super Saiyan God?" This simple act of moving ones fingers carried an immense amount of power. The sensation that Gohan felt was different than when he performed similar actions prior to achieving this form. And if such a small act felt so different...
"I can't sense Gohan's ki at all!" Erasa gasped. "Just like with Lord Beerus!"
"What do you think, Lord Beerus?" inquired Piccolo. "Is this a Super Saiyan God?"
The Hakaishin's tail flicked, and he inclined his head towards Son Gohan. "You've certainly awoken something...and now, you finally do feel like a deity. But...we'll see if this form brings anything new to the table when we fight."
"And if I win...you'll leave Earth in peace, right?"
Beerus smiled toothily at Gohan's bold statement. "If you prove yourself superior to me, boy, then I will be more than happy to leave your planet perfectly intact."
This was all Gohan needed to hear. A golden glow began to cling tightly around his body, shimmering like a liquid jewel. This was soon accompanied by an aura wholly different from the Super Saiyan blaze. It was a soft, red and orange flame that Gohan's form found itself immersed in. It was almost otherworldy, appearing different from any sort of ki the Dragon Team had ever seen. This strange flow, the pressure that accompanied it, and the absence it left in their minds.
This was the ki of the gods?
White boots lifting off the ground, the Saiyan-half began to rise, his now godly form taking flight. Beerus accompanied him, and the two opponents put the likes of the Tenkaichi Budōkai behind them. This battle would no longer be decided by Bulma's tournament. The whole Earth might become their battlefield. It was merely moments until they'd reached a height that Gohan considered an adequate distance from his comrades. Between Gohan and Beerus, a fierce wind blew.
"Well then," said Beerus, loosely floating in the air. He didn't adopt a stance, but at the same time, he was acutely alert. "Just do your best."
The same words as last time... Did Beerus view Gohan to be as little of a threat now as he did before the godly ascension? Or was he always this calm and collected no matter the opponent? Gohan couldn't say, but he knew that trying to process Beerus' personality wouldn't get him anywhere. His now red hair moved with the wind, gi ruffling. Beerus was inviting him to make the first move. The half-Saiyan's movement cut through the silence, bursting forward towards Beerus. This simple motion made the air explode, cracking and booming, sending violent shockwaves in all directions. To Gohan's surprise, however, he found that he'd placed far too much power behind his motion, and rocketed right past Beerus.
"Whoah whoah whoah, stop!" He skidded to a halt, turning around to see that he'd placed more distance between himself and the Hakaishin than he had when he'd started.
Beerus chuckled. "It looks like you can't control it yet, can you? The overwhelming power of a god."
Gohan couldn't help but grin himself. He had no affection for Beerus, but it was that Saiyan side of him that found itself excited at the prospect of new power. Just that one action alone had sent him spiraling, but he could tell his body was experiencing a sensation a rebirth. It's such immense strength...but I can feel it coursing through me without any disturbance. It's almost as if that ritual literally transformed me into something else. With the otherworldy flames that composed his aura licking away at his body, Gohan adopted a new combat stance. With this new form, he didn't think his rigid-combat style would be fitting here.
Images of his father's fighting style flashed in front of his mind, and Gohan slanted his right foot in, angling his knee to angle the hip. His left leg was similarly bent and slanted, with the foot braced at an angle flat behind him. His torso pivoted so the right shoulder would parallel to his right leg's thigh to the knee, Gohan's right arm stretching out, cocking at the elbow to raise up the forearm to the wrist, forming a clawed gesture with his right hand. Conversely, Gohan raised his left arm into the air, creating a similar clawed motion with his left hand.
He knew he would need a more fluid style of combat to fight Beerus; something akin to that of his father, Son Gokū.
The change in stance didn't go unnoticed by Beerus, who felt a smile slip onto his face. "Come on. You should have more to show me!"
Gohan rushed forward, the speed of his new form creating the same overwhelming strength as before. Even though he'd tried to dial the strength back, the result was the same — Gohan found himself shooting beyond his destination like a meteor. This time, though, he'd come up with an idea, and shot forth a kiai from his palm. Even this simple action created a blast stronger than Gohan had intended, but he'd banked on this. The kiai rocketed him backwards, having angled his trajectory right towards Beerus. With a bellow, Gohan thrust his fist forward. Beerus parried the blow, grinning. The explosion of force created a shockwave that blew away the clouds around them both.
"Quite clever; if you can't control your strength yourself, adjust and adapt using what you know!"
Compliments did not cause a battle to cease, and thus, Gohan did not let up. Gohan struck another blow, Beerus casually avoiding it, the feline deity catching Gohan's fist to stop an incoming third blow, dodging a fourth strike with the incline of his head, and finally bringing his forearm to the side, Gohan's fifth strike deflected easily. The Hakaishin spun on the spot, landing a powerful kick that Gohan barely blocked. The blow rocked the Saiyan-half, and he had to use all of his strength to stand his ground. Each and every exchange from the two created immensely powerful shockwaves that spread throughout the sky — where once there had been a fair smattering of cloud cover, now only the clear blue hue of Earth's canopy could be seen.
Grabbing Gohan by the scruff of his collar, the Hakaishin tossed him through the air; the air pressure that Gohan felt around his body was immense, and it was only through a massive kiai that he became able to stabilise himself without travelling too far from his opponent. The red-headed Saiyan deity grinned, the action surprising him as before. He wasn't someone who thrived in violence. Gohan had adapted to balancing life with martial arts because he had to. So why was he feeling so elated right now? Acquiring the strength of a god had made the half-Saiyan feel as if his body was reborn, but was this sensation still the essence — the very core — of being a Saiyan?
"Lord Beerus!" called out Gohan. "Brace yourself! I'm going to let loose a big one!" Gohan raised both hands above his head, a sphere of ki beginning to form above his palms. The energy was forming differently than it ever had with his mortal ki — he could feel the difference in the flow, and the sheer strength that was packed into it — and electricity crackled and snapped around the very sphere itself. "Let's try this: Super Masenkō!" Bringing both arms to his front, the sphere exploded without warning or grace. The blast was of an immense size, and its vibrant light illuminated Papaya Island, despite the fact that it was far beneath either deity at this point.
The group below gasped in shock, seeing what could only be described as a feat of god. In the decade since ki was revealed to the public, no one had seen a technique of the magnitude that Gohan had just released with the power of a Super Saiyan God.
"Is this...the power of the gods?" Erasa breathed, witnessing the Masenkō that threatened to envelop the sky itself. Seeing her beloved husband display this sort of strength...it made a part of her happy. As a martial artist, and as Gohan's wife, to see the man she loved reach a new pinnacle of strength was an achievement to be celebrated. For the past decade, Gohan wanted to ensure his power was enough to protect their planet — but most importantly, to protect their growing family. Nearly losing his mother, and witnessing the death of Kuririn — a noble sacrifice, but a heartwrenching loss for someone who had known the man since he was four — had strengthened Gohan's resolve to become the strongest man in the Universe. When he'd lost so easily to Beerus, it had nearly shaken that resolve.
But I was there...I'll always be there, to stand by his side, to fight by his side, and lift him up when he stumbles...so why... She couldn't sense their ki, but the Masenkō had collided with something she assumed to have been Beerus, and split right down the middle before it was entirely disrupted and destroyed. In that instance, the planet shook, nearly heralding their end as it did. The sound of clashing filled their ears, fist and leg striking their targets as Gohan and Beerus resumed their fight. Why do I feel like Gohan is being lifted somewhere higher...beyond my reach now? Is it because he's fighting the Hakaishin himself...and all I can do is watch? Erasa grit her teeth, her eyes quivering. I want to be able to stand there...on the same pedestal with him!
Using his right arm as a defence, Gohan forced away Beerus' incoming strike, retaliating with a blow of immense power that landed directly in Beerus' stomach. The deity wheezed, feeling the wind knock itself out of him, his expression wavering for just this split second; his eyes narrowed, teeth curved into a grin, and he shook off the punch easily.
"That's what I wanted to see," said Beerus, the two splitting off from each other ever so briefly. "During our first battle, your ki couldn't even scuff me. But you breached my barrier, boy!" During that exchange, Beerus was forced to exert himself and disrupt the Masenkō's ki flow. He hadn't felt that against an opponent in far too many years to count. "I'm going to increase my strength in increments...if you're the Super Saiyan God of my vision, then you should be able to keep up!" Beerus vanished entirely; his disappearance was followed by a thundering crash, Gohan feeling a foot implant itself into his stomach. His body wrenched from its position, hurtling far into the distance. He was unable to right himself correctly this time, soon finding himself past Papaya Island and out over clear, open ocean.
The Hakaishin crossed this distance easily, his pursuit of Gohan one of great haste. The cat-like deity launched an assault, his thin fist crashing into Gohan's face without giving the Saiyan a second to breath. Body pivoting in the air, his foot made contact with the crown of Gohan's skull; the blow created a powerful explosion, Gohan breaking the surface of the water on impact. Faced with the might of a Hakaishin's physical strength, the ocean itself split for miles, far into the horizon. Crouching on the sea floor was Gohan, drenched, dazed, but otherwise fine. Craning his head upwards, he saw Beerus floating downward between the two walls of water.
He wasn't lying...those blows were of a completely different level than before... Wiping the blood off of his chin, the divine Saiyan was attempting to replay everything. His movements are so fast, I can't even process them. And every strike has the strength to shatter the Earth in half. If I'd taken any of these back in the Kaiōshin Realm...well, I'd be sitting at a table with Dad. Beerus' speed might be the most troubling. Gohan didn't lack in endurance, and he could withstand a beating. But if his eyes couldn't keep up with an opponent, especially one like Beerus, who seemed to accelerate, strike, and decelerate all within the same instant, he would be worn down before long.
I'm starting to feel a little excited... Gohan thought, clenching his fist. The whole planet is at stake...but I'm enjoying this battle. I guess I really am a Saiyan, aren't I, Dad?
Beerus touched down onto the ocean floor, his brown shoes splashing into one of the scattered puddles that dotted the oceanic crust. The wall of water one either side dwarfed both gods, and it was beginning to crash back down. Yet neither combatant paid notice. In a battle between gods, the shifting of a planet meant nothing.
Both fists tightened at his sides, and the ethereal flame of the Super Saiyan God aura erupted around Gohan's body once more. On foot, the two sprinted towards each other, their feet kicking up stray bursts of water in the process. Beerus struck first, his right arm crashing forward in a punch that Gohan parried with his own right arm. This first strike resulting in a powerful shockwave that spread out from the both of them as the centre point; the ocean, which had nearly completely retracted, exploded outward once more, the water evaporating from the sheer pressure between the two. Gohan retaliated, letting loose a blow with his left arm; Beerus caught the strike with his right hand — simultaneously, the adversaries thrust their knees forward, crashing into each other. Where the ground had been, it was no more. Son Gohan and Beerus were exchanging a furious display of blows in a crater that dug even deeper, neither standing on the ground anymore.
Slipping through Beerus' guard, Gohan's fist struck home, solidly impacting Beerus' jaw. Staggering back, Beerus' sharp eyes narrowed, focusing on Gohan. "You're starting to get the feel for it, aren't you?"
"This kind of strength is something else, Lord Beerus," said the Saiyan-half. "And to be honest, I never could have imagined there was a world like this, just above my reach. But I'm starting to get the feel for this power now — the strength of you deities."
A/N: Finally managed to get a chapter out! It took more than a month, and I am so sorry for the delay guys, but I finally got it done. I'm not going to lie, I'm legitimately surprised — but also happy — that less people complained about Gine than I actually expected. I've mostly gotten support from the majority of reviewers, and I appreciate that. She'll be revived for good, so look forward to seeing her interactions with the rest of the cast as my series progresses. But whoo boy, the big one.
Super Saiyan God Son Gohan. I've been waiting for it. You all have been waiting for it. Lord Beerus more than all of us. And I had a lot of fun with what you can consider the opening act of sorts. Gohan ascends to Super Saiyan God, the legacy of Yamoshi the original Saiyan is laid to rest, and a new god arises to defend their planet. More developments will continue to...er...develop...in the future, and I hope you all are there to see it through! As always, let's thank Demod20 for proofing! I'll see you guys in the next exciting chapter of the Erased Chronicles!
